URGENT PRAYER REQUEST:

Please continue to pray for Darrel Damon, Janet's husband who was again rushed back to the ER today.

Morning Devotional...

Trials and Pain:
Piles of Ashes

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
--Hebrews 12:11

If God has singled you out to be a special object of His grace you may expect Him to honor you with stricter discipline and greater suffering than less favored ones are called upon to endure....

If God sets out to make you an unusual Christian He is not likely to be as gentle as He is usually pictured by the popular teachers.  A sculptor does not use a manicure set to reduce the rude, unshapely marble to a thing of beauty. The saw, the hammer and the chisel are cruel tools, but without them the rough stone must remain forever formless and unbeautiful.

To do His supreme work of grace within you He will take from your heart everything you love most. Everything you trust in will go from you. Piles of ashes will lie where your most precious treasures used to be.
That Incredible Christian, pp. 122-124

"Lord, give me the grace to withstand 'the saw, the hammer and the
chisel.' I want the finished product; I often chafe under the
process. I submit myself today to Your working. Amen."

Dear Janet, you must be so exhausted.  I'm praying that God will refresh you and give you His own peace.

Marilyn, I asked you to send us your rain....and girl, you dun it!  We have had sleet, hail, rain, rain, rain, most of the day.  Great weather for snuggling with my little grandson, Kaleb.  He's spending the night with me.

He's pulling on my sleeve at the moment, telling me he loves me, so I think that means I want you. haha   I'd better go see about reading some books.

Hi everyone from a very chilly and overcast Georgia.  We are suppose to have rain later this weekend.  One of my friends is in the process of getting his furniture moved to a new house this morning.  He has been moving boxes for a couple of days and the movers are coming to take the furniture and big items.  I hope the rain holds off until everything is inside his new home.  The builder is letting him move his things in this weekend but he can't stay there until after they close next Tuesday.  They had to replace the wood floors in several rooms and that delayed the planned closing.

I have another friend who has to move by December 15th as the County bought his house, in which he has lived for over 50 years, for a road widening.  Several of my friends have moved into new homes this year.  Sure glad I wasn't among them.

Glad to hear that it wasn't necessary to fly Darrel by to the big hospital and do hope he will be feeling much better today.  The placing of a stent and doing the angiogram are certainly invasive procedures on the heart and the doctor is probably correct that certain vessels have been starved of blood for a long time and may be reacting with the angina.  The problem with having problems like Darrel is having (and I have had several times) is that you become a bit jaded when these attacks occur and maybe tend to wait too long.  There have been a couple of times when I probably should have called 911 and Pat wanted to do so but I felt that waiting awhile and the situation would resolve.  Fortunately it did for me, except for the 2nd heart attack.  I am sure Darrel is probably as concerned about Janet and the stress she is experiencing as he is about his own situation.  They surely have had a heart monitor on him and have been able to keep close tabs.

I spoke with Marilyn on Skype for a couple of minutes last evening and it was nice to now have a lovely voice to go with the picture and name.  The connection was so clear that she could have been right in the room.

Pat has gone shopping this morning and I have more work to do on the computer so will spend my day doing that and watching several football games this afternoon.  One of our local highschool teams is playing for a state championship tonight and Georgia is playing LSU for the Southeastern Conference Championship later this evening.

Good Morning: Yes I  spoke with Larry yesterday, what wonderful invention Skype is. By the way Larry my telephone headset  plug is too small for the computer, I will have to get a different headset.

I have ordered a couple of books from Amazon and am looking forward to reading them one is Left for Dead and the other is a book on the advantages of using Cayenne pepper by John Hinnerman. Both deal with natural cures and taking care of ourselves naturally. If any of you have never visited Alternative Medicine in the Health Matters folder on SN I would highly recommend that you do. http://tinyurl.com/94ap5 (http://tinyurl.com/94ap5)
There is so much interesting and useful information.

Thank you Pat for the wonderful devotional today.
QuoteLord, give me the grace to withstand 'the saw, the hammer and the

I will working 1/2 day today as usual on Saturday, then I wills top by the church and see if they  need any more help withthe Christmas decorations. I am also expecting the electrician to come this afternoon to fix one of the overhead fixtures in the bathroom.

Hope you all have a blessed day.

Janet any more updates, I am still praying for Darrel.

Good Morning......Hi, Karma.  You posted while I was composing.   <3

I, too, am praying for God's intervention and healing for Darrell.  Janet, take care of the care-giver!  We sure don't want two patients.

I went to the chiropractor again today.  I wish I could bring home one of their massagers.  La-la-land for sure.

Tonight is my church's Victorian Dinner.  But Indiana is to have a winter storm watch.  That means, they say, starting at 4 p.m. we are to have rain, changing to sleet and around 10 p.m. changing to snow.  Temps are suppose to go from 36° down to 28°.  I can handle the rain,  even the sleet and snow, but I am praying for no ice on the roads!!  I have to drive probably 35 miles each way this evening with other ladies in the car with me.  But I really don't think we will be out very late since the dinner starts at 6 p.m.

Remember, Darrell and Janet, I'm prayin' for ya!

Thanks for the devotional, Pat.

Sorry that Darrel is so ill!  I have been reading the posts and praying for the family.  Glad that Larry is able to explain what is happening as it is complicated.  Certain that God is in control, tho' that it must be terribly difficult for them.  I will continue to pray.

We are having very cold weather for the island.  Snow and ice all over in the area where I live.  Have been doing some Christmas baking and trying to think warm!

Plan to cook dinner for the kids tonight.  Nothing much planned in the way of activities.  Same old same old......Marilyn, that sounds interesting about the new program.  I have never tried that, tho' have a headset with the equipment.  Might do so in the future, like the idea of free calls.  Do not spend much time on the computer at the moment and need to get caught up on things like SN, etc.

Must go now and get the day started.  Boot poor Misty out into the cold and feed that freeloader 'Billy Bob' his breakfast.

Thinking about you Janet.

Pleasant Day all and God Bless.

Liz

Wow! Good to see you all.  It has been awhile since I have been able to come online.  We have been busy with my nana, and I would really appreciate prayers in that area.  I cannot go into too much details right now, but we have been having trouble with the staff at the home where she is staying in not treating her right.  She has her mind and everything but do to bad artherites she is confined to a wheelchair and rely's on the staff for everything, but they do not like to help her and are often rough when they do.  Sometimes they don't even want to get her up or help her go to the washroom.  Anyways, we are in there nearly every other day so we are able to keep our eyes on things, and like I said she still has her mind and is able to tell us what is going on.  We also wrote to the MLA about some of the problems and the city mayor got back to us right away and said that he was going to do some investigating into the situation.

Anyways, the one day I did get a chance to come online someone unplugged the internet somehow or something... I don't know what the problem was but I do know I didn't get internet all day.  Finally my little brother was able to fix it with some instructions that my dad gave him over the phone but it was late by then.

Anyways, in update, I am currently starting an online french course with the Athabasca University :)  Can't wait! I used to speak french and received marks around 99% all through high school in the subject but I have forgotten most of it since then and I'd really like to relearn it.  Especially since my cousins speak French as a first language (they are from France)

Well, we have had snow this week (or first for the season) :) There isn't a lot now, but enough that everything is white still.. probable about 3 centimetres left or so.  Also We have our Christmas tree and lights and all the other decorations up (Christmas table cloths, Christmas curtains, garland, and too many nativity sets, and village scenes to count ;) )

Yesterday I did a complete makeover of my website if anyone wants to see (the link is in my signatures).  It is way different now lol!.  It used to be dark red and now is pink and blue and everything is layed out different.  I am not sure that I like it more than the old one, which I really liked, but I really wanted a change so I just wanted it to be different lol!  Also, for awhile I had the comment sheet on that site not working... I THINK I fixed the problem and it should work again there, but if someone could leave me a comment somewhere on the site to test it for me that would be wonderful!  (And if it doesn't work please let me know in a PM here so I can attempt to fix it again LOL)

Anyways, I'm off now.

God Bless,
Teresa Dawn

Teresa, it's so-o-o good to see you.  I'm so very sorry about your Nana.  This is just so awful the way some of the elderly are being treated right across the country.  I feel so sorry about it.

I'll be remembering her and your family as you go in and check things out.

I'll have a look at your page a little later.

Right now, I'm up to my eye brows in Avon packing!

Thank you for the devotional this morning Pat.  I was so happy to hear that Darrell did not have to go to the bigger hospital and things may not have been as serious as the family feared (I do hope that I have not misread the situation).  Thanks Larry for your insights into the problem, it was very reassuring to hear you speak on the subject. I do think that it was an answer to prayer that Darrell is so much nearer to home than he might have been.

Teresa Dawn, it was good to hear from you today and I thought that your website looked great, it seemed easier to navigate around in my opinion.  You can have a look at my new website if you like.  I used to enjoy writing webpages, but these days it has become a real chore, but I do pray that God would use it for His glory.

God bless to everyone - my neice is stopping over tonight, so must get the spare bedroom ready.  See y'all later.

Well, HOWDY, Y'all!  :)  We are back home!!  Praise God!  And I hope we don't have any more excitement of that kind for a very long time.

They finally decided the pain Darrel was having was NOT a potential heart attack, but from the restoration of blood circulation, also from a very tense and sore muscle on top of his shoulder.  It subsided a lot after I gave it a good massage.  Dr. Plumlee prescribed nitro patches for him to use until we return to Amarillo for his checkup on Dec. 15.  Dr. Friesen also prescribed Norvasc, which is usually used for high blood pressure, but it dialates the blood vessels and should prevent the pain.  All I care is that he is out of danger and back home with me.

Thank you so much to: Pat, Nita, Jeanne,  Ruthie, Nards, Karma, Jane, Anna, Papa John, Larry, Marilyn, Al  Etta Sue, Liz, Ruth Ann, Anthony---and anyone else whose name I may have missed but who has been holding us up in prayer.  What DO folks do, who don't know the Lord, and don't have Christian friends to come alongside and help in times like this?  My prayer is that God will richly bless each and every one of you for your kind thoughtfulness. (((((((hugs)))))))

Larry, again may I say thank you for explaining as no one else could unless they had been there, what was going on.  You have FIVE stents?  Were they all placed at different times, or maybe more than one at one time?  I am so sorry your poor heart has taken such a battering, but so thankful to a loving God who allows you to "take a licking and keep on ticking!"  You are such a treasure to all of us.

The ladies from church are bringing that supper to us tonight!  I am so thankful, because otherwise, I would have to brave the cold again and go to the grocery store, and I really don't want to get out again.  And we don't have much in the way of perishable food in the house after the week we've had. 8)

I want to get a few little things done here that have been neglected for a few days.  Thanks to you all again, and I shall return!  ;)

I had a lovely short chat with PapaJohn this morning on Skype and Just spoke with another good friend. It is so clear just like being inthe same room. I love it.
Here iis the link again  (http://skype%20http://www.skype.com/products/)

i am sitting here with a wonderfully warm cuppa tea waith for the house to warm up so I can shower and shampoo. I shut the heater off to air the house after I go home from work. I put flea drops on both dogs this morning and my house reeked of citrus just a little too strong.

ok.  Marilyn's talked about Skypes so much, I had to download it.

My user name is Rainee4.  Email is rainy4me2004@yahoo.com.  I can't let her have all the fun. :)

That group hug felt really good. :) :)

Marilyn, what do you use on your dogs for flea control?  I've been using Frontline Plus for my guys, but it's so expensive, and I can't believe that anything that strong could not be harmful to them month after month.  Do you use a natural alternative?  Does it work?  My dogs have zero fleas now.

Great news Janet.  I'm so happy and relieved for you.   <3

Cold and windy here today, with off and on spurts of snow.  There's only about 2 inches on my railing so far, but...  Supposed to be a major storm that may be heading our way on Tuesday.

Went over to church to set everything up for Communion tomorrow.  It's supposed to be another Deacon's month, but she has come up with all sorts of excuses why she can't do it - for the third time this year.   :clobber:  Six of us are supposed to take two months each and she hasn't done any at all.  This is her first year of three and she has turned out to be very unreliable - never even attended a meeting.  The pastor said this afternoon that he's going to request her resignation.

Ah well, enough complaining.   ;)

Here's a hymn that we haven't had since Nov. 2003 so please sing heartily!

Unto Him Who Hath Loved Us (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/thenewsong.mpga)
(Click to hear music)

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Rev. 1:5,6

Author: Arthur T. Pierson, 1837-1911
Musician:  Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876

With harps and with viols,
there stands a great throng
In the presence of Jesus,
and sings this new song:

Refrain:
Unto Him who hath loved us
and washed us from sin,
Unto Him be the glory
for ever. Amen.

All these once were sinners,
defiled in His sight,
Now arrayed in pure garments
in praise they unite:

He maketh the rebel
a priest and a king,
He hath bought us and taught us
this new song to sing:

How helpless and hopeless
we sinners had been,
If He never had loved us
till cleansed from our sin:

Aloud in His praises
our voices shall ring,
So that others believing,
this new song shall sing:
