Morning Devotional...Then I came to them of the captivity...and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days. Ezek. 3:15
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.Romans 12:15
God had called Ezekiel to declare Israel's transgression. Yet before Ezekiel embarked on his mission, he "sat where they sat" for seven days, identifying with their misery.
Before he said a word, he entered into their sorrow.
Likewise, no matter how urgent our task from the Lord may be, the ground of God's work is often prepared and softened by a sympathizing heart in tune with those in need.
May we be more like Ezekiel as we serve the Lord.
--Mark Kolchin Make Me A Channel Of Blessing (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/makeMeAChannel.mid)
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God were pleading through us:
we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Words and Music: Harper G. Smyth, 1903.
Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.
Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying,
The Savior Who died on the cross?
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.
Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the Word of salvation
To those who are dying in sin?
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.
We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from known sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.
Pat Amen!
Goodmorning to Iain and Ria.

GOOD MORNING 11.25 AM
PAT thank you for your good devotional this Morning for all the links and for the nice
hyms yesterday and also this morning
CHRIS your photo's are very good
Marilyn sorry for you to hear that you have a little bit osteoporosis i also have it.
Also goodmorning Jenny and Rachelle
My fahter has had a good night he has
this morning not so much pain with breathe he has got a lot medicines now i am cooking for him he want
have soup. But when he it must do then he take tinned canned soup but i make good soup by myself
and he loves that and we bring it to him.
The actuel words we say to God to receive this gift may vary
What is important is that we believe Him enough to be able to say something similar to the following:
God, I know i have sinned against You.
I believe that Jesus is Your Son, that He died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins, and that He rose from the dead to prove it.
Now i accept Your offer of full forgiveness and eternal life. I ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR GIFT FOR MY SALVATION.
If this is the honest expression of your heart, you have entered into a personal relationship with God!
I wish you all a BLESSED DAY
I LOVE YOU ALL
RIA :)
Hello to all, and may each of you have a wonderful day.
We are still cold here in the deep South...28 degrees and the wind is blowing. The sun is out and a beautiful sunrise it is! :)
Enjoyed yesterday's discussion, but was unable to post again.
We had photos taken for the church directory so I didn't get to work my usual 12. (thank goodness)
What a blessing it is to see how much these posts mean to all of us.
I love you all, kathy :-*
Good Morning

Pat, the devotion today reminds me of a song
"My Father Eyes"
Amy Grant
I may not be every mother's dream for her little girl,
And my face may not grace the mind of everyone in the world.
But that's all right, as long as I can have one wish I pray:
When people look inside my life, I want to hear them say,
She's got her father's eyes,
Her father's eyes;
Eyes that find the good in things,
When good is not around;
Eyes that find the source of help,
When help just can't be found;
Eyes full of compassion,
Seeing every pain;
Knowing what you're going through
And feeling it the same.
Just like my father's eyes,
My father's eyes,
My father's eyes,
Just like my father's eyes.
And on that day when we will pay for all the deeds we have done,
Good and bad they'll all be had to see by everyone.
And when you're called to stand and tell just what you saw in me,
More than anything I know, I want your words to be,
She had her father's eyes,
Her father's eyes;
Eyes that found the good in things,
When good was not around;
Eyes that found the source of help,
When help would not be found;
Eyes full of compassion,
Seeing every pain;
Knowing what you're going through,
And feeling it the same.
Just like my father's eyes,
My father's eyes,
My father's eyes,
Just like my father's eyes.
My father's eyes,
My father's eyes,
Just like my father's eyes.

HI Pat, Kathy, Jenny and Ria.
Ria~I love homemade soup! I bet yours is the best!
My husbands mom made some for me after I gave birth to my last baby. It was the sooooo gooood! She stayed with us for a week and cleaned, cooked and took care of the kids for me. She is a wonderful women.
Have a good day. I will keep your father in my prayers.
Great devotion, Pat. I looked for scripture to go with it but couldn't find any. This was a tough one for me today. I did get to browse the bible though. That is always good.
Be back later.
Sonja
hey ya'll
Soni I used to sing that song in church all the time. oh the memories! lol ;D today i get to be out of school for a long time because i have to go to the eye doctor. we lost our game last night but coach say we are improving! well i need to get ready to go for my 2 hours of school this morning ttyl!
Sarah
Hello, everyone! I'll be back later. Just saying HI!!!
Lee ~ Way to go! I just know that when I hear the word of God and I receive it in my heart, I am so happy that I have the Holy Spirit in me that I am able to receive His word into my heart. Otherwise, those words would be bouncing off of me like a rubber ball. Yes, sometimes those words are warm fuzzies and sometimes they are prickly pears. But without the Holy Spirit and God's word, I wouldn't know the difference. I think that means I use the negative as a positive. I tend to think that negative people are selfish...only thinking of themselves. Thank God for all his love and all his gifts to His children. Now this is my opinion and only my opinion. It works for me....Jesus loves me, this I know!
Thank you, Sue, for the website you posted. I am listening to the lovely music and it is really putting me in the mood to dig out my Christmas decorations.
Sonja ~ It sure makes my heart smile to read your happy posts. Life is good, isn't it? But remember, this is a fleeting moment next to eternity!!! Chapter 5 of Purpose Driven Life.
So even though it is gloomy and dark here today...makes us appreciate the bright sunny days more when they come...I do believe that I will make a definite effort to get out the Christmas decorations. So saying that....<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

Etta Sue~I just read that chapter the other day. :D
This chapter like all the others spoke to me directly. :) Why am I putting so much importance on things that are so temporary?
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
God is so good. We had the most beautiful sunrise ever. :o The sky was feeled with pinks and oranges. Wow! Just beautiful. Praise God for he gives us eyes to see his beauty and a heart to except it.

Hi Neil! We sang this song in church last week. I love it. Thanks for sharing it.
How are you feeling today? Hopefully better. :D
Do you play any instruments?
Good morning/afternoon!
Ria, I am so glad to hear your father is feeling some better today. He will really enjoy your good homemade soup!
Sonja, you little ray of sunshine--I love you!
Hello, Neil! I am not familiar with the song you mentioned. Our Christian radio station plays all Christmas music, beginning Dec. 1 and that is so nice.
I was humming this one as I drove home from the swimming pool this morning.
Come on, ring those bells!
Light the Christmas tree!
Jesus is the King
Born for you and me
Come on ring those bells,
Everybody say,
Jesus, we remember
It's Your birthday!

I only have a few minutes while my pot of coffee is brewing to say "Hi Everyone!" to y'all!
I must get these 26 boxes all figured out and the products delivered. I really am bogged down here.
I'll be back for my next cup of coffee!
I get so thrilled when I see your name pop up, Sonja. I know it's going to be something to read to make me smile!
If you think your life doesn't matter, this should encourage you!
BELIEVING IN YOU
Did you know that Albert Einstein could not speak until he was four
years old and did not read until he was seven? His parents and
teachers worried about his mental ability.
Beethoven's music teacher said about him, "As a composer he is
hopeless." What if young Ludwig believed it?
When Thomas Edison was a young boy, his teachers said he was so stupid
he could never learn anything. He once said, "I remember I used to
never be able to get along at school. I was always at the foot of my
class...my father thought I was stupid, and I almost decided that I
was a dunce." What if young Thomas believed what they said about him?
When F. W. Woolworth was 21, he got a job in a store, but was not
allowed to wait on customers because he "didn't have enough sense."
When the sculptor Auguste Rodin was young he had difficulty learning
to read and write. Today, we may say he had a learning disability, but
his father said of him, "I have an idiot for a son."
His uncle agreed. "He's uneducable," he said. What if Rodin had
doubted his ability?
A newspaper editor once fired Walt Disney because he was thought to
have no "good ideas." Caruso was told by one music teacher, "You can't
sing. You have no voice at all." And an editor told Louisa May Alcott
that she was incapable of writing anything that would have popular
appeal.
What if these people had listened and become discouraged? Where would
our world be without the music of Beethoven, the art of Rodin or the
ideas of Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison? As Oscar Levant has
accurately said, "It's not what you are, it's what you don't become
that hurts."
You have great potential. When you believe in all you can be, rather
than all you cannot become, you will find your place on earth.

Miss Avon Pat--I hope you get even more done today than you think possible! God bless you as you pack those products! :-*
Thanks for the devotional Pat. I have been reading the posts...trying to get a start on packing and wrapping Christmas presents.....So not spending time on the computer.
Sonja, I love that song. Amy Grant used to sing it with Gary Chapman (ex-husband, who wrote the song). I have it on a CD and still enjoy listening to the words. Sad that they couldn't make their marriage work.
This is a difficult time now as Al is waiting to go home to the Lord. I am going to see him today and talk with him each day for a short time. He has full time care now and is on heavy medication. It will be a sad Christmas for the family.
Guess this post is something of a downer after all the happy posts. My daughter's health is not improving and she said last night that it is time to get a handicap sign for the car. I feel so helpless to help anyone right now and would be lost without coming here to get a spiritual boost. So thank you Pat for your kindness in providing this warm place in a cold world.
God Bless.
I like that Janet, gives me hope! ;)

GRAPHICSHere's just a little reminder...
I love the little graphics and smilies, etc. BUT make sure that you have them on your own webspace unless you have explicit permission to link to someone else's webspace.
Several years ago and again just recently, we had a terrible happening on SeniorNet. People were linking to cute little graphics from other sites. One site had software installed on their site that changed these little neat graphics into porn graphics--very explicit porn graphics--after a certain time had elapsed and it was just horrible.
You see when linking is done, we are using that other person's bandwidth that they are paying for.
So, this is just a reminder.
I haven't any reason at all for saying this other than I love them and hope that all of you are putting them on your own webspace unless you have permission.
My little smilies, for instance, all have URLs of some place that I don't even know about but I paid for the software to use them.
Anyway, carry on and make this the best place on the net where Christians can gather!
I appreciate you all so much.
Now will you please come and help me pack this Avon order??? I'll put a fresh pot of coffee on!

WELCOME HOME MARGIT
I HAVE MISSED YOU
LOVE RIA :) :) ;) ;) :-* :-*
Oh, how nice to see you all again.
Talk about "warm and fuzzy feelings" --that's what I get here.
I came by this week with such limited time; I just needed the strength in numbers of the great Christian love I found here.
You see, my neighbor in Penna. passed away last week.
A fabulous gentleman; him and his wife are such great Christians. We know that he is in a better place; but he is
solely missed.
Got up last Saturday morning, said his morning prayers, had something to eat and went in his friends car to go to the lumber store.
His friend looked over and saw him sleeping and around ten
minutes later, tried to wake him. But he had passed away.
We, neighbors and family , know that this is the most peaceful way to go but he is solely missed.
Just got back from visiting his new 1 day old grandchild.
That is what is keeping his wife going stronger and stronger each day--you see the little one is quite ill and needs lots of prayers.
So please keep this family in your prayers.
Going to visit around the other sites.
Love in Christ,
Joyce
Well, I'm so tired, I'd like to go to bed! LOL
Nice to see you
Joyce but I'm so sorry about your friends death. That's so sad to hear about.

Good point, Pat. If you are linking to a site (especially if you JUST link to the image) that you are not paying money for, you are running a risk of them changing the image at any time. Even some so called "free" sites have trial periods that expire, or they change the links every so often. We all need to be very careful that we're not potentially placing something on CP that we would all be ashamed of.
Contrary to the way it was a few years back, very little on the Internet is actually free. Advertising on the net has been found to be very difficult, and advertisers are continually searching for new ways to invade.
Hope this makes sense. It sounds really rambly and confusing to me, but maybe I can clear it up if someone asks questions...
Hey! I'm over 200 posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess that's not much of an accomplishment, is it, Marilyn??? :) :)
YEA Nard. Does this mean we get to eat out tonight -- to celebrate????? :P

Hello and a good evening, afternoon to some of you.
Want to take a moment to thank you for the warm welcome home and for taking such good care of my husband. Even the "soup was on", some of you went directly to a man's heart, the route through his stomach. That's expertise. ;)
Mom is back out of the hospital, ambulatory and slowly recovering. Daughter is back on her way to California, almost there....God's speed to both.
Oh, by the way, I caught the spider, that's all that got done for now. Tomorrow it's the vacuuming and dusting, yet to be done. ???.
Instead of doing that, hubby went and placed flowers all through the house and set a stuffed pup on top of my computer with a Welcome Card.
Well, wouldn't do without him, dust and all - and neither without you, there is much loving going about and now it's my turn to return a little.
Thank you.
God bless.
Love,
Margit
OK Everyone... ONE, TWO, THREE! SAY IT ALTOGETHER
AWWWWWWWW...... CHRIS you are so sweet![/b]

Seriously though, Margit, we're happy you are back but sorry that your mother isn't well. Glad that she is recovering. I'm glad you got to see your daughter too.
Just a quick hello. I'm off and running again. Grocery shopping, then a quick stop to visit with my father (and give him a treat that my girlfriend made for my parents on Saturday) then home to get my Christmas Cards written. I've only had them in the house for over two weeks now. ::)
Have a good evening everyone.

Vivian and I have been in Spokane Washington since early morning 07:30, and just arrived home 5;10pm.
I didn't want to say anything before now as I didn't know what was wrong, and I still don't as yet. I've been having chest pains and pressure for over two weeks and kinda put it off. My cardiologist scheduled me for a "Thalium (nuclear imaging of my heart arteries) treadmil" test today. Further examination and review of the test necessitates I have an angiogram (Invasive probe of the heart arteries). I told my cardiologist I really appreciated his scheduling te "Thalium" testing because this is what saved my life the first time when I had a triple bypass. There is a chance (But not positive at this time) that I may have a blocked artery(s). Sooooooo. I now wait for the scheduling. Now please hear this.........Our Lord is in charge, and only He knows the physical outcome at this time. I know, and you know the ultimate outcome. Who knows, it may not be anything at all. ;)
Oh, my goodness, Lee! I'm so sorry. Larry and Papa John and several others on here will know exactly how you are feeling. I only know how I felt when Jack went through all of this.
I definitely will be praying for you in the coming days, Lee.
Yes, it's wonderful to realize that our God is in complete control.
Thanks for letting us all know.
Lee: Listen here young man you better start taking care of yourself. You have my prayers as well.
Lee, Darrel had a stent placement done almost two years ago, and for two months before that, he had such awful attacks of pain! That was the only time I ever saw him cry, other than when his Dad passed away. So I am very glad you are getting checked out, and I hope there isn't a serious problem.
You guys are all so fun! I love the little graphics, even though I have no idea how to do them. I will just sit and appreciate yours! (Until I have time to learn more.)
I am about ready for Christmas!! I have spent the day decorating, and wrapping gifts, what I have bought. I put up three Christmas trees and got out a lot of things I hadn't gotten out in several years, so the house looks very festive! ;D When can y'all come over? We can have a party here, everybody bring FOOD. ;) Tomorrow, I hope I remember to call my ISP and find out about getting photos deleted from my webspace, so I can upload and post some more.
Margit---welcome home! And Chris, how sweet of you to make her homecoming so special. I'll bet she keeps you! ;)
I called Beth's doctor--again! This time the girl told me that he was at that time getting the information ready so she could get it into the mail for us TODAY. I hope so, hope it wasn't another run-around. I am a pretty patient person, but really! That was very sorry service from a doctor.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/its-beginning-to-look-a-lot-like-christmas.mid)
(Click to hear music)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.
A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

It is late and Pat hasn't shut the door yet. Strange!?
I just got back from (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sonifopictures.com%2Fgraphics%2Fballet.gif&hash=a5bedec8944a74c73472f5afd5869ad38cbbdb98) (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fchristianphotographers.com%2Fforum%2Fsmi%2Fdance.gif&hash=746fef3f6166ec778c8480e6de9509e45c35cbed) dance. I was so tired I barely made it through the 2 hours.
Lee, you are in my prayers! I hope it is all heartburn.
Janet, glad to hear you are getting the paper work in the mail finally. God is good! I would love to come over tomorrow as long as you have some peach pie ready with icecream. ;D
I am heading to bed. Night all! (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fchristianphotographers.com%2Fforum%2Fsmi%2Fbyebye.gif&hash=8859d570f4eed25598673bd093ec19d5f359d442)
Love Soni
God bless you all.............
I read all the posts for today and there are far too many to respond to. It's very encouraging to come into NEM and start the day with Pat's Devotionals and sites to visit. I'll be taking some photos of our town soon and will send them off to Pat. The joking and all-around fun you share with each other makes an old duck laugh. Sometimes I feel I'm visiting a "Funny Farm" ;).
On our return from Spokane today we stopped by the hospital in Coeur 'd Alene to visit Mary Shackelford. Perhaps you might remember her as I recently sent photos of her baptism for posting by Pat. Mary's cancer has matasticized (sp) and I fear she won't be with us very long. She's skin and bones and they are feeding her by tube. The wonderful thing about new Christians is their enthusiasm for the Lord. She said she isn't quite sure why the Lord did this to her. I stopped her and we had a long discussion on our Lord's not giving her cancer, and that He loves her so very much that he has allowed it, and that neither she nor I are our loving God, but He knows why, and has a purpose for this and she will positively learn soon why He has allowed it. I reminded her that her witness to not only her friends, but to all who come to see her, plus the doctors and nursing staff are all recipients of her witness and love for the Lord. We spoke at length about heaven and the purpose of Jesus' dying for us. She has a radient look when she speaks of Jesus and says she is ready, and is looking forward to being with the Him. We had a time of prayer, and as I walked down the hallway from her room, it was I who now had an exhilarating feeling about going home. You see, Mary was a witness to me also.
Well, I'm late tonight but I've had such a busy day and it looks as if there's another like today, tomorrow!
Lee, I was very touched by your post and your telling us of visiting your friend. We so enjoyed seeing her getting baptised not that long ago and it's so sad to have to say "Farewell".
Thanks for sharing that with us.
Also, thanks for your kind comments about our site here. I'm so glad that you're enjoying it.
Now, it's time to lock the door and open a new one...
