Morning Devotional... There they crucified Him. Luke 23:33
The ultimate crime!
The supreme blasphemy!
The vilest obscenity!
The grossest stupidity!
Sinners defiled and dead to God, actually nailed "Him" to the wood.
He, the loveliest Man who ever walked the dust of earth. He healed their brokenhearted, dried their tears, and blessed their little children. He brought the Word of heaven to their hearts and would open heaven to their souls.
Who were "they"?
People like you and me. But, praise the Lord, He did it to procure forgiveness for people like you and me.
J. Boyd NicholsonFor me Thou has borne the reproaches,
the mockery, hate, and disdain;
The blows and the spittings of sinners,
the scourging, the shame, and the pain;
To save me from bondage and judgment,
Thou gladly hast suffered for me--
A thousand, a thousand thanksgivings,
I bring, blessed Saviour, to Thee.

Low In The Grave He Lay (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christarose.mpga)
Low in the grave he lay,
Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day,
Jesus my Lord!
Refrain:
Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o'er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Vainly they watch his bed,
Jesus my Savior,
vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus my Lord!
Refrain
Death cannot keep its prey,
Jesus my Savior;
he tore the bars away,
Jesus my Lord!
Refrain

Prayer: Oh!
Then said I: "Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth."
--Jeremiah 1:6
To be articulate at certain times we are compelled to fall back upon
"Oh!" or "O!"--a primitive exclamatory sound that is hardly a word at
all and that scarcely admits of a definition....
In theology there is no "Oh!" and this is a significant if not
ominous thing. Theology seeks to reduce what may be known of God to
intellectual terms, and as long as the intellect can comprehend it
can find words to express itself. When God Himself appears before the
mind, awesome, vast and incomprehensible, then the mind sinks into
silence and the heart cries out "O Lord God!" There is the difference
between theological knowledge and spiritual experience, the
difference between knowing God by hearsay and knowing Him by
acquaintance. And the difference is not verbal merely; it is real and
serious and vital.
We Christians should watch lest we lose the "Oh!" from our hearts....
When we become too glib in prayer we are most surely talking to
ourselves. When the calm listing of requests and the courteous
giving of proper thanks take the place of the burdened prayer that
finds utterance difficult we should beware the next step, for our
direction is surely down whether we know it or not.

"Lord, don't ever let me lose the 'Oh!' Amen."

Larry ~ Like I have said before...Inky does everything that Ali never thought of. And Inky has chewed the bottom three ends of the mini blinds over the kitchen sink. Just one end...I think... I have claw marks on several window sills...they are painted wood. I have 5 throw rugs in the kitchen, hall, and computility room and they are always askew. Inky's latest thing....she get from the floor up under the bedspread. I look in the bedroom and there is this huge bump that moves around. It is funny.
Also, I didn't realize there will be another series from LaHaye and Jenkins? What is it going to be about?
Talk about forgetting...it seems lately that is happing a lot. Well, I guess we weren't talking about forgetting...maybe it was just me. But when I mentioned the other day that I had met Sonja, her family, Pat, Judy McK, Beverly Pratt and almost Jane, I forgot that I have met Karma, Nards and precious Travis. In fact, they spent two nights here last June. How could I have forgotten that???? Senility setting in....
I am already to leave to get Jerry and go to church. There are no NASCAR races today so Jerry and I may take a drive somewhere....who knows where.»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

HAPPY EASTER, YA'LL
I hope your day today is wonderful and that you are blessed "from head to toe" as we contemplate His wonderful love for us.
He is RISEN! Just as He said!
Ruth Ann
More beautiful words were never spoken than these: "He is not here, for He is risen!" Oh, Hallelujah! Thank you, dear Jesus, for suffering and dying for me---and for rising again, victorious over hell and the grave.
And when I think how God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die; I scarce can take it in.
I wish all of you the joy of knowing Jesus as your Saviour today, and thanking Him for the privilege of being adopted into His forever family.
Thank you, Pat, for putting in Up From the Grave He Arose today. I don't feel my Easter is complete unless I get to sing that wonderful song!
I have seen so many wonderful Easter programs this week on television. If anyone has not heard the Good News of the Gospel in this country, it is only because they close their ears! (And their eyes.)
Beth just stopped in to tell us Happy Easter. She just got home from the sunrise service at her church. We are going to church soon---the outdoor sunrise service there was cancelled because of the cold, wet weather. After church, we are invited to the "Easter Feast" (Abby's term) at my son in law's grandmother's house. This lady is 96 years old and still hosting huge family dinners at her house! Amazing! Of course, we all bring in food, so she doesn't do the cooking, but still, it is a lot of work! Curtis is home again, so I look forward to seeing all of them today. God is good.
Ria, I am interested in hearing more about your country's second Easter day. You know, that would make the timing right--the Word says He spent three days and nights in the belly of the earth--and if He were crucified and laid in the tomb on Friday and rose early Sunday, that is only two days. I have always wondered about that. Maybe he actually died on Thursday? Opinions, anyone? Thanks.
"He is not here, for He is risen!"
Janet I have always wondered about the timing as well. But I believe that he had to be off the cross before the Sabbath. That would put his removal to the tomb on Friday as Saturday was the Sabbath. Three days later would be then on the Monday? Yet so many say we worship on Sunday as that is the day He arose. At the very least wr rejoice that he did rise from the grave. So how bout some of our theologians digging in here too?
Have a blessed day folks.

Good Morning, Yes "HE IS RISEN" what a wonderful celebration Resurection day is.
I have nothing planned for the day after church, I don't know if the kids have anything planned that would include me or not. I know the g-kids will be looking for Easter eggs in their own yard probably while I am at church.
I spoke to AL yesterday, he doesn't sound good, sneezing and hacking through our conversation. Please pray for Pastor Al, he really needs our prayers.

Good morning folks!
It is beautiful here. We had a lovely light pink sunrise to start these wonderful day.
I am getting ready for church. Just wanted to stop in and wish you all have good day!
Well, as Marilyn put it, here's ol' hackin', sneezin' Al! Actually, I'm thankful to say that I believe this thing is getting on toward it's eventual end (I'll sure be glad).
Relative to the 1st day/2nd day question - let me complicate it even more - who began numbering the days anyway? Why should Sunday be the "first" day, etc.? Additionally, when the women came to the tomb it was "early on the first day of the week." How early? How long had He been risen when they arrived?
There are a number of questions I don't believe we can accurately answer. Nor do we have any need. Whatever the scenario, we know Jesus prediction about His own death and resurrection is accurate, and we know that His prediction came to accurate fulfillment. He ROSE!!! He LIVES!!!
Actually, the whole Easter thing is the creation of a pagan emperor in the first place. There was no "Easter Celebration" in the first century at all. All of our Lord's people worshipped a risen Lord and Savior - and they didn't stop to consider the details of Maunday Thursday, Good Friday, or Easter Sunday.
I'm glad for Easter as a holiday, because it reminds us of His resurrection, but, really we should rejoice in that resurrection every Sunday (and really every day). He does indeed live, and He is Lord, and He is on His throne in heaven, and He is coming again, and He will be worshipped forevewr and forever! Hallelujah!
Hi Al, most of our "Christain" celebrations are pagan. As a new "Brit", I am amazed at how much assimilation has taken place of pagan worship into our Church life. Of course, it was Christians who used this as opportunities to convert the pagans.
We had a great sunrise service, it was cold and damp but spiritualy uplifting.
Gotta go, my son is kicking me off.
Second Eastern day in Holland
Then we have no church we also say Christ is
risen the 3e day and that is today.
But this week the children have make on schools
a little Easter basket and this evening before they go to bed then they may put the little baskets on the table in the room and the parents put there in little chocolate and sometimes big chocolate eggs and maybe
a chocolate Easter bunny/rabbit. And this week have parents with little children painted real eggs but this evening the parents put the eggs trough the hole home and in the garden and then the children may take a look where they are. And in Holland are on second easternday all the furniture business are open so you can buy new furnitures
but i need not new furnitures. But it is in Holland a day when the parents are doing a lot with their kids. the children and also the mothers has this hole week painted hard boiled eggs. and tomorrow they the children may searching the eggs we are hoping that it is beautiful weather it is nice when they also must in the garden.
But we are not more doing that i see my son Marcel not looking for eggs. Yes chocolate little eggs are standing on the table and they he eat.AND NO OWN in WORKING TOMORROW. A lot people also are going away when the weather is good But today it is very sunny.
I hope you understand what i have writen.
By love Ria(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fchristianphotographers.com%2Fforum%2Fsmi%2Fbyebye.gif&hash=8859d570f4eed25598673bd093ec19d5f359d442)
The sun is out and it is a glorious Easter Morning here on the island. I still can't get to a church....so come to CP to keep my faith strong.
I agree with what Nards said about us needing both serious and silly. Laughter is good for the soul and makes the face look so much nicer!
Jesus is very much alive. I am not ever eager to give opinions....Have been accused of not giving answers. Find that some things are not clear in the Bible because we need to seek and search for our own truths. Some things can be answered with a truth God has given. A dear friend of another generation, another faith, another sex, has said that I am a friend he can talk to 'soul to soul'. That even tho' we don't always agree, we can disagree without anger. I consider that the highest compliment and hope to continue along the same path.
I am cooking Easter dinner today and have invited an uncle of my son-in-law. He is a widower and quite elderly....but a Christian and fun. So am going to go and shower, bake my pumpkin pies and hope that the kids like the little gifts that I sneaked upstairs earlier in the morning. We are never too old for an Easter Egg!!
God Bless,
Liz
You're right, Garreth. Both Easter & Christmas have their beginnings with Constantine the Great in the 4th century. He was "converted" to Christianity supposedly, and he then went on to require everyone else to be converted likewise. So he instituted various things llike Easter, Christmas, etc. to replace pagan holidays. But - praise the Lord - we can be joyously reminded of His resurrection while with equal joy forgetting who started the celebration day.
OH! OH, He is risen!!
And because He lives, I live also......and it's in Christ that we have our being. In Jesus we live! Glory in the heavens; Glory on the earth. He in us on the earth, we in Him in the heavens. OH! I want to walk more and more in that reality. May our hearts swell, almost to bursting, with the wonder and knowledge of what it means to be One in Spirit with our Lord. OH! For sure! Oh! Glory, glory, glory! ;D ;D ;D
Nards, thoughtful. We don't want to be hanging around an empty tomb. :)
Have a blessed Resurrection Remembrance Day. We know that everyday is a new day to meditate on His great Wisdom and Mercy in including us in Jesus.....I'm celebrating! :)
A Song Of Praise
Christ the Lord is risen today.
Alleluia!
Let creation join to say:
Alleluia!
raise your joys and triumps high,
Alleluia!
sing, ye heavens; thou art, reply:
Alleluia
Love's redeeming work is done,
fought the fight, the battle won;
lo! our sun's eclipse is o'er;
lo! he sets in blood no more.
Vain the stone, the watch, the seal;
Christ has burst the gates of hell:
death in vain forbids his rise;
Christ has opened Paradise.
Lives again our glorious King;
where, O death, is now thy sting?
Dying once, he all doth save;
where's thy victory, O grave?
Soar we now where Christ has led,
following our exalted head;
made like him, like him we rise:
ours the cross, the grave, the skies.
Hail the Lord of earth and Heaven!
Praise to thee by both be given:
thee we greet triumphant now,
hail, the Resurrection thou!
Charles Wesley (1707-1788)
Hey all --- Well... I have been really missing coming on here... with taking care of mom, work, and tryin to still keep some resembelance of a shooting schedule I have been busy, busy, busy.
I have really enjoyed Fraser's photo of the Mura... E-mailed him to ask him all sorts of questions about his trip. Sounds wonderful! I might be trip this summer. It's still in the planning stages right now, but I would be gone for 3 to 4 weeks and would be working with a missionary family that are friends of ours.. I will keep you guys updated as that will probably be a starting point for my book venture. I have been talking with a lot of people about this and really belive that this is something that God wants me to do. It's been neat seeing God totally work in the lives of people to make this vision come into reality.
Please pray for mom as she goes into the doctor on Tuesday to see if she can be put into a "walking" cast.
Well I hope you all have a very blessed day!! Happy Easter!
Gregg
Regarding the three days in the earth.
In the east, part of a day was classed as a full Day.
Jesus was in the earth Friday afternoon and evening, all day Saturday and from midnight to His Resurrection early on the Sunday.
Part of three days.
The name "Easter" is not recognised by many churches, especially the Presbyterian church
as the name is not scriptural and comes from a heathen festival.
But we rejoice in His death and resurrection,
and in knowing that the price of our sins has been well and truly paid.
Whatever the name "Easter" means, it means eternal life for we who believe on Him!
Al Moak, may He raise you up, healthy and strong by His resurrection power.
Love Chris.

We just got home, after enjoying celebrating Jesus' resurrection with family and friends at church and then at dinner. We also got to spend time with the grandkids, which is always special.
Thanks for the explanations about the three days. I thought perhaps they had different names for the days that long ago, or they counted them a little differently, or something. The main thing is: He arose!!
I brought some food home for Beth, so I will go take it to her, then she won't have to struggle to get over here. It is very difficult for her to get around now.
Later, folks!
Hi Peeps! How's the day going for you all?
I just got back from goofing around with the family again. We tend to do that alot.
We had a wonderful church service. The youth group at our church put on a play showing folks what happened to Jesus. Troy played Jesus and the girls in the youth group sang songs and the boys played the guards and Judas. The kids did a wonderful job. I GOT PICTURES!
Joyous Resurrection Day to you all! I am enjoying all your posts of how you celebrate this most wondrous remembrance of our Risen Lord! I feel that every day should be a joyous proclamation that He is risen as He said and now Our God Reigns! I also enjoy the special days that have been set aside for remembering these events in our Lord's life on earth ... Christmas, Palm Sunday, Easter ... days set aside especially for remembering Him and what He means to us.
We had a blessed service at church today with our "pulpit fill-in" pastor and congregation. This church has been joining ours on Sunday evenings for several months, and, for the next few weeks while our pastor is on leave of absence, Pastor Ivan is preaching on Sundays and teaching on Wednesday evenings.
SONI~I like that you "goof around" with your family ... that tells me you have a very healthy (emotionally if not physically), happy, family! Maybe we can tweak a phrase just a little and say "The family that plays together stays together"
We had a wonderful service at church this morning. Lots of beautiful music and truly great sermon.
All the secret sisters brought Easter gifts, i received a nice btwo handles basket with goodies in it. What I treasure most are the two packages of organic teas, Yin Hao Jasmine and Selimbong Estate Darjeelin from Edelwies Teas, Lake Tahoe, Ca. There was a cute little Lamb disguised as a Bunny with two carrots for ear.
Then Forest came over and brought me some chocolate eggs wrapped in purple foil, He said "Look Grandma these are for you and they are all purple." He knows my fovorite color.
I've been watching an old Star Trek movie with young Capt,. Kirk and Mr. Spock. Strange to see them all young after all these years.
I hope you are ll enjoying your family time today.

Marilyn - Happy Easter to you!
Your secret sister gifts sound so lovely. Now, did you find out who your "sister was"., or is that still a secret?
We have a secret sister at our church too. I sent mine an Easter card....and then wwhen I was about to mail it., I thought., : " oh gosh...did I sign this thing by mistake?"... so I opened it up, right there at the post office., and sure enough, I signed my name!!.. What a dummy I was!...LOL
So the post master gave me another envelope....and card.... it wasn't nearly as nice a card., but it was "Eastery"...haha., so I mailed it!!
Norm and I are finally back to normal around here. We were away in Pennsylvania last week to see "Behold the Lamb". Has anyone here in CP seen that production? What a beautiful Easter message!
Love to all. (has anyone missed me at all?...lol)
Judy
Hello everyone, and Happy Easter! We have had an unusual day weatherwise, it snowed today.
Earl and I went to the 8:00 AM worship service this morning so we could be going on to the hospital again, where his sister still remains. By the time the service was over at 9:10 it was really snowing, and the windshield stacked with snow. We came home and just decided to let a phone call suffice for today and not go spend the day with Alice as we have been doing. We needed to rest some anyway, so I guess the Lord gave us a day off. It is too far to be away from home in case of one of those freak spring snow storms.
I hope all of you have had a blessed day, and enjoyed being with your families where it was possible.
Bye for now, Janice

Oh thank you Soni.... (I knew I could count on you!)...
I am anxious to see your photos of the kids Easter story..., esp of Troy acting the part of Jesus. Did you sew a costume for him to wear?
Hi everyone. We have had a very full day starting with a wonderful church service. The church was full and the choir was augmented by a brass quartet composed of students from the University of Georgia.
Then this afternoon our son, daughter-in-law and a friend of theirs came over for Easter dinner. My wife made a delicious meal and we all enjoyed the time together. Our daughter-in-law had her powered wheelchair and got around our house well. She is experiencing a lot of severe pain with her knee and hips.
Etta Sue, I think you misunderstood what I was saying about the "Left Behind" series as was talking about the book that just came out. I don't know if there will be another in the series.
I am tired tonight so am going to signoff for today.
It is good
Ria, thank you for explaining about your second Easter Day in Holland. Very interesting.
Judy, I missed you, too! But I am glad you and Norm are still able to go and do things that you want to do.
Larry, glad your family could come to visit today. Do they live near you there?
Soni, I am looking forward to those photos, too. Something is wrong with my camera, today when I was trying to take pics of the kids hunting the eggs, it kept turning off, and the count stayed the same. Rats! :'(
I just watched Joel Osteen on TV. Do any of the rest of you like to watch/listen to him? I think he is great!
Happy Easter, Pat! Where are you hiding today? Hope you are enjoying a day with your family.
Janice, glad you got to rest today, it sounds like you probably were due for a good rest. I hope the roads are clear for when you need to go to see Earl's sister again. Is she in Amarillo in one of those hospitals there? Boy, that town has become a medical mecca, hasn't it? They have so many clinics, hospitals, doctors' offices, and even medical and pharmacy schools now.
We had an enjoyable dinner this evening. I had my Great-Aunt with us and she quite enjoyed the dinner of ham and scalloped potatos and didn't hesitate to say yes when I asked if she would like a meal to take home with her to reheat. What a pleasant feeling!
Night all.

Hi Everyone... What a busy day I've had! I wasn't feeling up to par this morning so went back to bed and then I was speaking to Judy McKenna on the telephone for awhile and then Andrew and Terena came and they've just gone home so what a nice family time I've had the last couple of days!

He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll.
Refrain
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;
I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.
Refrain
He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessèd will;
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear,
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessèd face,
Where the rivers of delight shall ever roll.
Refrain
