Morning Devotional...And He went a little further. Matthew 26:39
When the ark of the covenant came to Jordan, Joshua gave instructions that there must be a space of 2000 cubits between the ark and the people as it entered the waters.
We learn here that the position of nearness, into which grace has brought us, must never be allowed to exceed the limits that distinguish Him--the true Ark--from us.
We should never become overly familiar in our address of deity.
We must maintain that holy reverence in recognition of His uniqueness as the Son of God.
We can only say with Thomas, "My Lord and my God."

Thou art the Everlasting Word,
The Father's only Son,
God manifestly seen and heard,
The heaven's beloved One;
Chorus:
Worthy, O Lamb of God, art Thou,
That every knee to Thee should bow!
In Thee, most perfectly expressed
The Father's glories shine:
O the full Deity possessed,
Eternally divine!
Chorus:
True image of the Infinite,
Whose essence is concealed;
Brightness of uncreated light,
The heart of God revealed.
Chorus:
But the high myst'ries of His Name
An angel's grasp transcend;
The Father only (glorious claim!)
The Son can comprehend.
Chorus:
Yet loving, Thee, on whom His love
Ineffable doth rest,
Thy members all, in Thee, above,
As one with Thee are blest!
Chorus:
Throughout the universe of bliss,
The centre Thou, and Sun,
Th'eternal theme of praise is this,
To heaven's beloved One.

Hi Pat...thank you for the devotional. Also thank you for putting in my new pic.
Love Ruthie
Ruthie, and a beautiful new picture! I really like it.
Pat, don't ever stop posting the old songs. I love them. In fact, you posted one (or someone did) That I hadn't heard before. "A Quiet Understanding". I want the music
so that I might sing it in church sometimes. I'll look for the soundtrack
I like to listen to the songs, and then go ahead and browse more on the site, but that song kept me really listening. I could hear how it would sound with different instruments. :)
No......don't stop. I really enjoy hearing the songs. Also your devotionals always make me think.
I'm heading for bed now. Night, family.

RUTHIE a nice new photo from you bye
Thankyou Pat..
Thank-you Jesus, I can be familiar with Our Heavenly Father because of You...You taught us to call Him "Father"...Praise You!
Let us not forget that the High Priest alone could only enter the Holy of Holies once a year and that on the Day of Atonement......
Jesus has taken away "the partition for us".....He is our Ark. His blood is our covering! Do we truly realise this? We are safe in Him...Oh dear this is so wonderful....if you could have heard the radio broadcasts here this week, re the young men in this country preparing to be suicide bombers for Islam. One young man even said he was preparing to bomb The White House...(Truly) and Washington!!!! He said he is doing it for Allah! and this British Government is not doing a thing about the man inciting this. The broadcaster asked repeatedly for confirmation and he gave it....Dear brothers and sisters do you realise truly our Position in Christ and how amazing is the Grace of God towards "The Bride" His ark is "over" us.....
Jesus is at the door brethren. Are you ready. Are your lamps trimmed?
The Arrival of the Son of Man will take place in times like Noah's. Before the great flood everyone was carrying on as usual, having a good time right up to the day Noah boarded the ark. They knew nothing - until the flood hit and swept everything away.Stay awake, alert."..Jesus..Matt 24:37-39.44.
Do you daily pray the protection prayer over your selves and families??????
"May the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, shed at calvary for Our sins and for the sins of the whole world, be over the bodies, minds and spirits of us all"..Amen.
Yes, Pat. Do keep on posting the hymns. I will admit that sometimes I don't click on them and listen. Sometimes I don't read the devotionals. Somtimes I don't read everyone's posts. But that doesn't mean that I don't have peace of mind knowing that I serve God with the gifts that He has given me.
I recorded 'Good Morning America'...ABC network...this morning. Diane and Charlie talked about Mel Gibson...do you really think that media people know nothing about Jesus? Also tonight on Entertainment Tonight, Mel Gibson will be on. AND later, a special Primetime will have Diane Sawyer interviewing Mel Gibson. Also on the PAX channel on February 22 will be showing 'The Making of The Passion of the Christ'. Those of you who are interested might one to remember these times and dates.
It is bright and sunny here in Indiana. Looks warm but I just noticed it is only 14°F. Brrrrr! I think I will stay inside today and look out!!!

Good morning.
I have a tone of stuff to do.
I will be back later.
Soni
Good Morning, Etta Sue I have Good <orning America on right now. I always watch it.
Pat thank you for the devotion and Jenny thanks for your words too.
I don't have to go to work until 11:30 today.
TTYL
Just popped in to say Hi!!
How are you all doing today? I'm doing the same.
Zachery
Like Soni and our sweet Zachery, I am just popping in to greet all of you. I have more to do today than I can possibly get done!
Lee, with a name like JUBILANT, how could he not sing? His mother gave him a prophetic name, I think! I wish I could hear him sing.
Pat, I in no way meant that I do not like the old hymns! On the contrary, I love them! And most of the ones I learned in church growing up, I still know all the words to all the verses. That surprises my grandkids so much, when we do sing the old ones, I never need a book. I think those words penetrate our hearts and are helpful to us, much like the Bible, but secondary to the Bible, of course. So please do NOT stop posting them. I can't listen to music and read, type, or anything else except paint, but I still like them being there, even when I scroll past because I am pressed for time.
Hi, dear Ria! I wish you every blessing from above this day!
See y'all later!
Ruthie, that is a lovely new photo of you! You are a beautiful daughter of the King!
Hello, all you wild and crazy people :) And everybody else as well.
Karma and I are both feeling better today (isn't that the typical Christian thing? On Sunday we're always sick but somehow manage to drag out to work on Monday???? Hmmm...)
As an aside to Lee... Would you believe that I, a 35 year old guy who has been a Christian 24 of those years, went to a Christian Fundamentalist college, and have literally been in church all my life - JUST THIS WEEKEND learned the difference in a Fundamentalist and an Evangelical??? Hmmm. I must be sorta dumb :) Or maybe, just nobody talks about it. Dunno. (I mention this because you made some references to "Fundamentalists" in one of your recent posts.)
That said, I'm not desirous to take that particular conversation too far in a public forum, because, believe it or not, it's probably more divisive than the music discussion. I was just so "happy" that I actually learned the difference that I had to share it with someone! :)
I hope all of you have a great day.
4.40 p.m. in England.
Hello Marilyn and my Young pal Zach. Zach I am glad you are feeling a little better. Hang on in there sweetheart. We all love you very much. You cheer us all up on C.P. 'cause we are a lot of "old codgers". Aren't we?
Just popping in to see who's around. I am very cold...have just got back from a ride around and am now having a nice boiling hot mug of tea...steaming hot and then guess what next...another steaming hot mug of tea as I bring the washing in from off the outside clothes line...if it hasnt frozen solid...It sure is getting colder. It looked lovely earlier. The sun was shining and all the neighbours were outside pottering in their gardens...Not really doing much just looking for folks to talk to. they are mostly retired folks. Life can get lonely for some so it is nice just to pass the time of day and share a smile., costs nothing and it can help lift someone's spirits.
Now why do I have a vision of Zach hunting about for a pic of a steaming mug of tea to post on N.E.M.? ::)
Marilyn, I do hope you are con tinuing to take things a bit more easily????? Prayers continue for you. :-*
Well off I pop to fetch the washing in and of course to feed my two pussy cats and my dear little Sunday dog. Becky and Pushkin are queueing up by the door.
Then it's peel the veggies time for the evening meal.
See you all later.
Love Jenny.
Thank you Jenny! How are you today? My nights re starting to go by faster. But I still have a stuffy nose.
It kind of smells like Popcorn here in N.E.M MMMMMMmmm...
Zachery
Hi Everyone!
Lots to do today--both behind the scenes in CP and also lots of housework and the final Avon to pack and deliver.
Good discussions in here and that's good.
Yes, Nards, there is a difference! ;D ;)
EVERY TIME I get on here to chat with you, either someone comes to the door or the phone rings.
The phone is ringing....
Here is another link for the dog lovers here on CP.
www.dogage.com (http://www.dogage.com). this site will ask you a lot of questions about your dog and then calculate it'sReal age and here you thought it was always 7:1 ratio. Not so. Check it out.
I am stopping in to see who is around here and who has posted since my last one.
P.S. Please tell me the difference.
Hi everyone. Have had a busy morning. Got up about 6 am and left for the "Y" at 6:45 to do my walking for the day. Then, as usual, had coffee at the cafe. I got home around 9 and Pat asked me to do some grocery shopping for her so I did that for another hour or so. Came home and have had lunch and trying to catch up here on CP. The sun was out briefly this morning and now it is cloudy and chilly again today with more rain expected tomrorow. We 2.4 inches of rain over the weekend.
Ruthie, I like your new photo.
Zachery, I don't believe I have ever smelled anything over the Internet. Guess I need more imagination. ::) ;D
Don't have much to say today so will be brief this time. Hope everyone has a great day or evening. Jenny, enjoy your tea and Pat please don't overdo today. a
Okay, Nards, you brought out the can of worms, may as well open it. I will show my ignorance. What is the difference. I know in my head what I think of when I hear the two terms, but what is the "real" definition.
AND NOBODY BETTER ARGUE ABOUT IT EITHER. >:(
:D ;D :P
Karma: Amen to no arguments. I am curious to know as I have been called both and don't know the difference.
Hey Larry You forgot to "POP" in. HEHEHE
Ya the teen room smells like pizza and chips and is BLAIRIN with music. HEHE LOL

Ruthie..........
NIce photo of your daughter. Now you can place yours back in place.
Marilyn, you have been called both a Fundamentalist and Evangelical? That must be a compliment don't you think? If we are so like Jesus, no other name fits...that's pretty cool.
Zach, I was trying to stay away from the teen room since I'm old, but you're tempting me with popcorn! Now, is that fair? Angel will be here tonight, and I'll be sure that she gets to the teen room to post something. It'll probably be really short, but she'll be checking then to see if anyone answered her. She's shy around strangers.
I'm sure she will fit in with one boy and two girls counting herself. HEHE
Nards.........
The way I figure it, a true evangelical is a God believing, God loving, EXACT Word professor of God's truths. A perfect example of an evangelical is Ruthie who "evangelizes" God's Word to the lost. I'm "Fundamental" nondenominational, and not a Baptist, though I attend a Baptist church, but I respect their long history of "evangelizing" God's Word. A "Fundamentalist" never strays from the EXACT Word as God has given it to man to give to the lost world. Just to stretch this a tiny bit further, anyone who brings God's Word to others (Even if it is false) is an "evangelist," but if he is in error, he certainly is not a "Fundamentalist."

Song of Solomon 1:3
Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow. Isaiah 1:18
Words: Elvina M. Hall, 1865
Music: John T. Grape
I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."
Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I'll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv'ry's Lamb.
Refrain
And now complete in Him
My robe His righteousness,
Close sheltered 'neath His side,
I am divinely blest.
Refrain
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone.
Refrain
When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
"Jesus died to my soul to save,"
Shall rend the vaulted skies.
Refrain
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I'll lay my trophies down
All down at Jesus' feet.

Okay, well, I opened the can, so I'll eat a worm and offer one to the rest of you...
It's going to be interesting to see what I come up with, because it's almost impossible to define one without offending the other, and vice versa. There is something very interesting to be learned, here, though, but I want to present it in a purely non-partisan fashion - if possible.
Fundamentalism in the sense as it is currently defined is about 100 years old, or less. Evangelicalism is probably only about 50 years old. My dates aren't exact, but close.
Most modern Fundamentalists are not associated with a particular "convention" or major denominational organization. (For example, the Southern Baptist Convention). More Evangelicals ARE associated with a convention, but it is by no means a requirement, nor is that part of the definition. Just establishing some characteristics.
The primary difference between the two is rather simple, but leads to a great deal of confusion. Here it is - Fundamentalists believe in ecclesiastical separation, while Evangelicals do not.
Fundamentalists believe that churches should not associate with other churches which do not believe exactly the way they do.
Evangelicals believe that slight differences in doctrine should be ignored in the name of spreading the gospel as widely as possible.
Fundamentalists believe that purity of doctrine is paramount, and that "apostasy" cannot be ignored - it must be purged from the church, or the Fundamentalist cannot associate with that church.
Evangelicals believe that "evangelism" is paramount, and that doctrinal disagreements are not counterproductive at all.
The college I attended - Pensacola Christian College - is VERY Fundamentalist. In 4 1/2 years there, though, I never encountered a "definition" of Fundamentalism. Evangelicalism was frowned upon though, but I never really understood why. Now I understand - regardless of whether or not I agree, which I won't get into.
Funny that Pat mentioned Bible translations the other day.... Fundamentalists are predominantly "King James Version only." Most Evangelicals place little importance on the particular Bible translation in use.
Fundamentalists typically place higher standards of "purity" on music, and typically promote a "classical" approach, with orchestras of strings and woodwinds. Evangelicals tend to be more "progressive" with music, regarding music as simply a tool rather than part of any "standard". (This is NOT part of the definition, just a typical example of the differences that show up.)
Fundamentalism is similar in "approach" to what would be called "orthodoxy." This means that there are "standards" that must be adhered to at all costs. Evangelicalism is less orthodox, sometimes to the point that "standards" are frowned upon.
Most Evangelicals would not like being called a Liberal, which is the "religious" Left, but neither would they want to be called "old fashioned", which is more typical of the Fundamentalist persuasion.
This is basically a quick synopsis - hope it helps.
Lee - Your classification of Ruthie as "evangelical" because of her work in evangelism is appropriate in one sense of the word, but I was referring more to the "organizational classification" use of the word. There are many true Fundamentalists that are EXCELLENT evangelists, but they are not "Evangelicals." Hope that makes sense.
Well, that's my attempt. Learned all that from a little book that has been laying around the house for several years that I had never taken the time to read. In the ensuing "learning", I discovered that I'm really not sure where I truly fit. But it was an interesting thing, anyway!
Lee,
Margit and I both suffered aching necks, until we tried buckwheat pillows, now we wouldn't be without them,,, oh boy this sounds just like an oldtime advert!
But seriously they are great. :)
BTW, in the church fraternity at large, Fundamentalists feel that the Evangelicals are selling out their beliefs for the sake of "Ecumenicalism," a very bad word! lol. ;)
Eddie, always remember that when Moses killed the Egyptian he was 40 yrs old, he did very little for the next 40 yrs, then came the burning bush, God called him to work, so his ministery didn't actually begin at all until he was 80 yrs young, the rest of the time was just preparation for the great task, " let My people go." ;)
http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/o/l/oldtimew.htm
NARDS: Very interesting definitions.....I'm gonna have to change what I call myself.
Since I became a christian, I have referred myself as being a fundamentalist...because BC (before Christ) I belonged to a very liberal church.
When I reversed my direction, I thought that now instead of being a liberal, I was a fundamentalist.
I realize now that I am really an evangelistism (or whatever the correct word is)
I believe in becoming involved w/other evangelistic churches. I don't believe that my denomination is the only true church.
My feeling is that Heaven contains a lot of people that others (myself included) twas thought would not qualify for entrance.
And I am sure that there are souls in Heaven that will be surprised to see me and others who do not fit "their profile of a Christian."
But, then if those in heaven know everything (and they do)...they will know that we are coming.
Hmmm, I still don't know what I am. Guess it doesn't matter. :P :o
Chris, I've never heard that hymn before! It's lovely too and what great words!
Thanks! I think I might have it in one of Jack's old hymn books though. I think he has an old Alexander's Hymn somewhere and it seems that this fellow wrote several hymns for that book.
Thanks again.
I don't know where I would fit, either, Karma. The important thing, so far as I'm concerned, is not denomination or title - it's the fact that Jesus died for me and rose again to open the portals of Heaven so that I can someday join Him. And the fact that all my sins are covered by His blood and are known no more.
Yes, you are right Jeanne,I was just reading 2nd Timothy ch 2 v 14-26.
We know the Lord Jesus as our Saviour and our Lord, amen.
Pat, there is one thing I like about hymns,
there are usually plenty of verses, so that you don't need to sing them over and over!
Hahaaaaaaaa :)
ps, We've just listened to Pastor Adrian Rogers preach on Matthew 24, the end times, what a great preacher he is!
I always make copious notes while listening, and I dont do that with many, lol.
GOTCHA!
PAT thank you for the nice hymn
JESUS PAID IT ALL very good.
CHRIS thank you for the nice hymns that is a very good site.
FAST EDDIE i love your words we in Holland we are thinking others
we only say also i i try to be a good Christian i say that have i also say this morning MY GOD AND MY LORD
Jesus is died on the cross for me He is my Saviour
and that i believe and we will be surprised when we see where there are in Heaven.
I am Dutch and Dutch people are common sence
I am in Dutch we say Gereformeerd i think that have i ask my aunt in Canada that is Christian Reformed.
And you all must take me as i am.
I wish you all a very goodnight
Bye love Ria

That's a great point, Jeanne. One thing to keep in mind is that these are typically "ecclesiastical" titles, meaning that they apply to the church, rather than the individual. If you find yourself in disagreement with the direction and teaching of your church, it is normally likely that you will move on to one more in line with your beliefs. Normally, Evangelicals wouldn't frequent Fundamentalist churches, even if they didn't understand the difference. And vice versa.
Denomination is indeed not important, but sometimes being challenged to define what we believe can make us "dig a little deeper" and wind up in better fellowship with God as a result.
It can also leave us less confused when the media (religious OR secular) talk about the "Fundamentalists" versus the "Evangelicals" at the Southern Baptist Convention, or wherever the battleground may be on a given day.
It really is all about Jesus and telling your neighbor about Him... (Just saying that is mildly Evangelical in nature, though. Most true Evangelicals don't dwell on the difference in the two, while Fundamentalists are usually fairly quick to bring it up.)
We must remember that the word "Evangel" means "good news," in other words,, the Gospel, hence evangelists, those who bring the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Yes 10 pm here night all. :)
I just want to clear up what some may have misunderstood - I am NOT talking about evangelists or evangelism. I am talking about Evangelicals. It's a completely different issue. Evangelism is a calling, a ministry. Evangelicalism is a church type - not a denomination, and most churches don't put it on their sign. Evangelists may be Fundamentalists, or they may be Evangelicals. Please don't confuse the two, and please don't accuse me of attacking evangelists.
I definitely don't want anyone to think that Fundamentalists are not in favor of evangelism. Quite the opposite. Many are huge supporters of missions and other evangelistic efforts. They simply do not join with other denominations in doing so, most of the time.
The primary difference is Fundamentalists and Evangelicals is their approach to doctrinal differences. Fundamentalists will say "This is what's right, and to be right, we need to agree with it. We can't work together until we do." Evangelicals will say "I believe this, you believe that. OK, now how can we work together without stepping on each other's toes?"
Often, Fundamentalists and Evangelicals have exactly the same doctrine. They simply don't agree on how to deal with those who have different doctrine.
And let's be clear - I personally have NO doubt that both Fundamentalists AND Evangelicals are born-again Christians, as long as they are born-again Christians.
See, I told y'all it was a can of worms... :) I'm not here to argue the points, I'm only trying to explain the differences. Hope that makes sense.
Ria - We're very glad to take you as you are, sweetie. We love you dearly, whatever church you call yours.
That goes for everybody else, too.
Nards: Thank you very much for your definitions and what you have written on the differences. I don't know what to call myself. I agree that there are many churchs with different doctrines. These doctrines are interpeted in different ways by each one. The scriptures to back each docrtine and interpeted the way they want to read it.
I believe that if we have confessed Jesus Christ as our Savior, and repented of our sins , accepted Jesus into our hearts, and believe that He is who He says He is, then the denomination make no difference.
I also belive that every church should preach/teach the Word of God, Biblical truths.
I am sure there will be many surprised when we reach heaven to see those that we thought would never make it.
I guess I am naive...I am going to label myself a Christian!!! Anything else would make me feel above someone else and I certainly am not.
I was thinking EXACT. Does people know Greek and Hebrew that are Fundamentalists?
This is too deep for me. I like to simplify things. I am thankful for the gift God gave me in Christ, the forgiveness of my sins, the promise of everlasting life, the promise He will be with me each day, the assurance that I am His child and He is my Father. That's enough for me.
I may not be here in the morning. I am going to Jerry's and then to the southside of Indy to meet a SrNetter from Minnesota that has been visiting her son at Columbus, Indiana. I have met her before but Jerry hasn't.
hmmm...interesting discussion.
I don't know what I am either.
That is ok. I am sure what ever I am, God loves me anyway. ;D
Thanks, Nards for all that info. I am going to save it.
busy day for us.
Hope you all are having fun today.
Soni
Howdy Nards........
May I disagree with you on one particular point (Could be more ;)).
True "Fundamentalism" really started with Genesis and carried through to Revelation. Belief in ALL of God's Word as 100% truth IS "Fundamentalism (2nd Timothy 3:16). Man in his attempt to bring confusion has introduced finger pointing and degredation directed at "Fundamentalism." In fact, the World Council of Churches has made "Fundamentalim" a dirty word. Yep, I agree with you 100%, "Evangelism" and "Evangelical" are positively not the same.
If we should find a brother in Biblical error we must correct him in love WITH the Word only, and not of man. Either they accept God's written Word (Fundamentalism), or they reject it.
Very interesting, Nards. And what I find delightfully interesting is most saying they don't know what they are. haha I think that's the best place to be. I simply belong to Jesus. I think I'm glad I was saved outside of church, met Jesus and got to know Him before I was in church. Like others, I guess I'm a little bit of all....and don't call myself either.
I'm with you, Etta Sue. Child like faith in a loving Father, who can work out all the details. :)
You've really been studying, huh, Nard? It's good to find out that you don't know who you are, outside of Christ's. lol
love to all.
Just popped in to catch up on the reading and now am off and running again. Will read again tomorrow.
Night all.
Sonja...........
Sure you do. If you believe in all of God's Word as (2 Timothy 3:16) has said, then you have a "Fundamental," (and might I add) a sound belief in His truths. All "Born Again" Christians should have this belief in God's Word. If you spread the Gospels of God's Word to the lost as one of God's messengers, then you are evangelizing. The word evangelical has taken on a new meaning within the past 60 years. If you look-up evangelical in Webster you will find evangelical and evangelism are akin to one another. This subject is worthy of discussion for discussion sake, but certainly not one to bring concern.
Etta Sue.........
I love your post. If we can all agree with you and say (When asked what we are)..."I'm a Christian." That covers it all.
Hello everyone!!!!! How are you all doing today?
Nita did you sign Angel up to CP yet?
Zachery
I'm a fundagelical. Or perhaps a Evanmentalist. Or maybe, maybe, maybe.
Ahh. This discussion has made me understand some people near and dear to me a lot better. There are some people who are very clearly one or the other.
Promised Nards I wouldn't be on here long (still have supper dishes to clean and Mary Kay calls to make), so, in the words of the Terminator, "I'll be back."
A very interesting discussion today. I grew up and was saved by grace in the Baptist Church but since moving to a new location the church has changed its name.
Pat again thanks for all of your hard work and the lovely humns as well.
Ruth
Hi Everyone!
I know I know I haven't posted in a long time, I have been going through some things, and also didn't really feel like I fitted in much here~ but I decided I needed the Christian support and would give it another try-Schooling 3 girls is a big part of my day-and being a Mom and taking care of the house-I also have 3 online ministries and that takes alot of my time..Recently the enemy has really been causing problems with my brand new PC~today they were suppose to replace the mother board, the dvd and cd rom-well the guy came and they sent him the wrong Mother Board and not a DVD Drive~This morning I had trouble getting online-and then when i finally did I smelt a burning smell..anyway they now are replacing the modem and also the power source too..I hope to get this fixed soon..this pc is only 4 mo. old..I am thankful that I did however get extra warranty on it.
Hugs
Rachelle
Hey Rachelle: hi where have you been? I see you on line right now, come in and tell us what you have been doing? How is the home schooling going? Bet you been busy Huh? Well I see that you posted at the same time as I did. Oh well as they say, it is still good to see you here I have missed you sister.
Ruthie, nice new picture.
Nita, I agree with you. The songs Pat posts here add a lot to CP.
Ria, nice to see you here every day.
Jenny, good to see you today. Yes, Jesus' coming will resemble the coming of the flood in the days of Noah. Because of Jesus' sacrifice for us we can be ready all the time. When we have visited England we have always enjoyed having tea ---- but here we usually have coffee. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjohnmurphreenashville.homestead.com%2Fcoffeeanim_2_.gif&hash=5d6fbcb9578774448c7204cb2d6a5a042297826c)
Etta Sue, I am planning on seeing "The Passion". I'm not sure just when and in a way I am dreading it. Yet I think so much has been said about it that it should have a real and lasting impression. A lot of our young people at church are going together to a special showing.
Marilyn, it is always good to see your smiling face in here each day.
Hello Zachary. Where did you get the name Mullet?
Janet, I like all the church songs too. Where we worship we sing about half of the old hymns and half contemporary songs. I enjoy singing these new spirited and spiritual songs.
Nards, it is always good to see you here. I would like to see a clearer picture of you. I have to turn sideways and still don't get a good picture of you. I have been a Christian for 58 years and I'm still not sure about Fundamentalist and Evangelical.
Pat, I want to thank you for all the work you do to make CP possible. You are one busy lady.
Larry, it is always good to see you. We went to walk in the Mall this morning but not nearly as early as you.
Karmat, neither of the words are in the Bible so I think you are right in saying we shouldn't argue about them.
Sarah, I hope this doesn't have to be your last week. Good luck.
Lee, I think you know a lot about diplomacy. Sorry I didn't think of the line about Ruthie's daughter.
Always good to see you Chris and Margit. I have arthritis in my neck which I just put up with and sometimes it is worse and sometimes better.
Fast Edie, good to see you today.
Jeanne, you are right. What is important is that we are Christians. I don't think that Peter, Paul, James, or John wore any particular label. Jesus is my savior and I try to share his message of love and grace with others.
Etta Sue, yes the early disciples were called Christians. I would hate to think we will be judged by whether or not we understood the terms "evangelical" and "fundamentalist".
Sonja, good to see your smiling face today. I think you have a busy day every day.
Sue, good to see you pop in and then out again today.
Also good to see Ruth and Rachelle.

NARD: I haven't noticed anyone getting upset by the posts on the subject of Evangelical or Fundamentalist.
I have seen healthy discussion......we are all in agreement that you must be born again. What happens after that is what man does.
Reminds me of the story of how the first four churches were formed.
It seems that four of the men that Jesus healed had gotten together to discuss His work.
The first man healed said, "In order to be healed...he must touch you."
"Oh no," said the second man, "He must touch you twice."
The third man offered his story, "He must put mud on you, in order to be healed."
The fourth man said, "Oh no, first He has to apply the mud and then you have to go down to the pool and wash it off."
The four men could never agree on doctrine, and so the first four churches were formed.
Hi Marylynn and Papa John~and Everyone..
Thank You -I have also missed everyone! Ive been up to no good (just kidding) The kids keep me busy-I am still homeschooling and trying to spend more time with getting the kids scheduled better. Rachelle, I have missed you. I am glad you are going to give it another try. I know it can be stressful sometimes but this is a great family here.

Great to see you girl! You've been so missed on here. I'm not sure just who asked but I know that many did ask and wondered where you were so please know that you were missed. I'm happy to see you back again.
Sometimes too, if people post to you on one specific day and you miss that day and then come in the next or even the next, you miss seeing them and then don't realize that people did speak to you or ask you something.
Thanks for trying it again, love.
Talk to you soon.
7. p.m. on the Northern California Coast, 20 foot waves are expected tomorrow according to the Coast Guard here and on the Oregon Coast. Not a good time to be out on the ocean. Lots of rain here and lots more expected. Not a new thing for this area, right Jane, Al and Nita?
Can you tell I don't know what to talk about? I just stopped in to see who has posted and what they have said. I will check back one more time before I go to bed. Got a Dr. appt. tomorrow with my regular clinic, just a monthly thing.
Rachelle thanks for answering my post to you. Good to see you here. Love you sister.
For those interested, Mel Gibson is being interviewed by Diane Sawyer right now on TV.
Still living in a freezer. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fusers.adelphia.net%2F%7Epairajeans%2Ffreezingcold.gif&hash=2f37c7aeaaa2492979a04f029e804dc55fa7dd75)
And Gene heard tonight on TV that March is expected to be the coldest on record. Boy oh boy will we appreciate summer this year! Hope my long johns don't wear out! ::)
Rachelle, it's good to see you back with us again. I got tired just reading about what you do with your time! ;D
I really admire you young mothers (including my own daughter) who are home schooling your children. I never would have even known where to begin. Do you all use the internet a lot? What happens when you have to teach something you never learned yourself?

I'm pretty sure you'll be no more impressed with my looks once you see me clearly, but I'll work on it and see what I can come up with :-)
<karmat uses her special powers to edit her husband's post to add "AINT HE CUTE!!!!!>
Rachelle. It is so good to see you. I know how busy HS'ing can be. I need to get back into a routine too. Jeanne Lee If there is a subject you have no knowledge of you learn with the children. When it comes to French I have a friend who teaches French and I teach her kids art. This is one way of solving the problem.
This has been a tramatic day for me. There is a prayer request posted. Also be praying for Bonnie and Sean. Sean is hospital again.
Mother is happy where she is, she already has a new friend, and this lady is 2 years older than mom and is going to be a good friend for mom.
The previous discussion on doctrinal differences.... I believe Ria summed up my position quite nicely.
QuoteROMANS 15 : 7 NIV
ACCEPT ONE ANOTHER, THEN JUST AS
CHRIST ACCEPTED YOU, IN ORDER TO BRING
PRAISE TO GOD.
Also they will know we are Christians by our love.
Ria I am so proud of you. Your understanding of the english language has grown so much, that I can see little difference between those of us raised "english" and the way you speak. Keep it coming you are doing so well. See if you can get some friends to join as well, OK
Well My eyes are sore and my head aching, so I am off here and going to bed.
Night all

I am still battling a virus but came back to read all the many posts for the past few days. Interesting topics and only controversial if one if looking to be the ultimate authority.....Was saved in an independent Baptist Church that believed they were the only one in Canada that wasn't apostate. Preached this from the pulpit! They brought in the occasional speaker from the States and were for a time involved with Bob Jones University...who I highly regard. Called them apostate when the university stopped using only the old King James Bible and switched to another version.
I spent five years in that church and did get a good grounding in scripture....then learned that there was more to being a Christian than being dogmatic. Have spent the last thirty years learning that kindness, love and tolerance, wins more people to Jesus. That church finally closed and it's large radio ministry ended. Not before many people were badly damaged and left the faith.
Since I love music, anything from opera to bluegrass, have found blessings in both old and new. Still am moved more deeply by the old hymns as they tell a story....At least to me. But this is from someone who found Bob Dylan's 'Slow Train Coming' had much to offer....have eclectic musical tastes.
I am reading an interesting book 'The Hidden Jesus' by Donald Spoto. In it he brings out that shepherds were not thought of in Judaism as being nice folks. Like tax collectors, they got rich by being dishonest. Yet they were the first to learn about the birth of a Savior. They were outcasts and sinners, yet responded with piety and adoration. To quote a passage in the book:
'The Divine will is not a restriction imposed on us, a destiny from which we cannot escape; it is a loving reality far more benevolent, and far more effective on our behalf, than our own will could ever effect.'
So, for this person, titles are not important. I am simply a Christian and hope that never changes.
God Bless and pleasant dreams. Liz
Mel Gibson handled that interview with grace and humor. My respect for him is growing steadily. Our church bought 160 tickets for one showing of the Passion movie in Guymon, Oklahoma. We will be going with the group and taking two friends with us. Like Papa John, I sort of dread it, because I know it will be so painful, but I wouldn't miss going to it.
Rachelle, it is so good to see you here again!
Hi, Marilyn! Go to bed! (Just kidding. ;D) But that's what I am about to do. We will be leaving around 7 in the morning to take Beth to a doctor in Amarillo again.
See you tomorrow night or Wednesday!
I still have at least 1 1/2 hours before I get to see the Mel Gibson interview, I think it is on at 10 pm. Not really sure. I haven't been to a movie theater in years, but I am going to make a point of going to see the Passion Movie maybe I can get someone from church to go with me. I feel out of place going alone.
Anyway Janet you can just go to bed then and I will be up for a few more hours. Let me put it this way . I will be awake for a few more hours but I will be in bed snuggled up the the dogs beside me watching the interview.
Hi CP friends. It's been a while since I have posted on CP as I have been busy running the highways and moving mother to North Bay. It has been an event filled 2 weeks which all started with my trip to Colorado. On the way out there we encounterd winter conditions with snow and ice on the highways in Nebraska and saw literally dozens of wreaks involving both cars and trucks. And then again on our way back we ran into winter conditions in Iowa and again saw dozens of wreaks. It was a good opportunity to point out to my trainee the results of driving to fast for conditions. That it is better to drive slower and get there than to put the rig into the ditch or as we call it in truckers language, into the rubbarb. When we got back this trip was backed up with a trip to Virginia and again we ran through snow in parts of the trip. It brings to mind that we serve an ausome God who keeps us safe throughout all of this and brings us back to our families.
Karmat, Thanks for the comments you made on truckers and sharing your observations. We always here about the negetive and it is good to hear the positive as well. I am familiar with the stretch of I40 you mensioned between TN and NC. I have run that stretch of Highway many times and your are right many travel to fast through there.
Life on the road is not as easy as many may think. We have to deal with other motorists of various degrees of compitence as well as dispatchers and shippers and receivers schedules and make it all comply with the hours of service regulations and home time.
We moved mother to North Bay this past weekend and I let Doug , my son drive the truck north as he drives part time for the same Company that I work for. It was the first time I was able to ride with him behind the wheel for more than just a few miles. This just confirmed in my mind something I already knew, that he is a good operator. As i like to affectionately put it, The kid knows how to operate a big truck and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. I better watch it or he may out class me some day LOL
Well I guess that will do it for tonight, and I would like to wish all of you Gods rich blessings in your lives and remeber that He is in control.
God Bless. Bonesy
I love it when we get 5 or 6 pages in here. And the discussion was wonderful. I learned lots. Thanks Lee for the extra tip there.
I think I will hit the hay.
Nards, Nita, and Janet, awesome new pictures. Makes me think of getting a new one.
Night all.

Hey, did you know that Bob Dylan became a Christian? He was a "baby Christian" and some people figured since he was a big music star, he could be a big music star for Jesus and pushed him into a music ministry that he was not mature enough to handle. It ended bad. :(
The first verse and chorus of one of his songs goes like this --
QuoteI was blinded by the devil
Born already ruined
Stone-cold dead
As I stepped out of the womb
By His grace I have been touched
By His word I have been healed
By His hand I have been delivered
By His spirit I Have been sealed.
I've been saved
By the blood of the lamb
Saved
By the blood of the lamb
Saved
Saved
And I'm so glad
Yes, I'm so glad
I'm so glad
So glad
I want to thank you, Lord
I just want to thank You Lord
Thank You Lord.
If you go to http://www.elyrics.net/go/b/Bob%20Dylan%20Lyrics/Saved%20Lyrics/ (http://www.elyrics.net/go/b/Bob%20Dylan%20Lyrics/Saved%20Lyrics/)
you can see the whole song, and possibly get an MP3 of it. The site actually lists almost all his songs, I think, and he had an entire Christian album (called Saved, maybe) that you can probably find there as well.
Folks, it's Bob Dylan, so if you don't like the modern P&W stuff, this will cause you to have a coronary. Do not follow my link! :P :P :P :P :P :P :P (love you guys!!)

Well, it's time to lock the door on yet another day.
I'm a bit late tonight. Seemed as if CP had a bit of a hiccup there just about an hour ago so I phoned Ian and we ended up having a great conversation about parental/child relationships and just a great conversation!
(He couldn't get CP either for a few minutes. Said that the server was terribly busy.)
And so here's a link for your new topic. Hope we have as good a day tomorrow as today was in NEM.

I kept trying to just quote parts of your post, and ended up deleting what I needed, so I had to start over.
Anyway, WELCOME BACK!! I was wondering where you had been. And don't worry, you are part of this group. A very vital, critical part. I enjoy reading your posts and seeing how your family is going.
Online ministries? Do you "run" them, or are you just part of them? I thought I had read that one of them was a weight loss thingy. I assume WW didn't work well for you? (I didn't work well for WW, hahahaha. Ended up quitting, not hahahaha). Is it open to anyone? You can send me a PM if you don't want to answer in the forums.
Sorry about the PC problems. Some days, I wonder if life wouldn't be better without them (but then, no cp. :-( )
Talk at ya later
