Do You Know Your Own Mind?

Matthew 6:10.
"Your kingdom come.  Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

God always knows our inmost hearts.  He knows our thoughts before we think them, and He knows even our faintest inclinations and tendencies.  He knows whether we love Him - and how much.

But, the trouble is, we don't know these things.  We don't know ourselves nearly as well as He knows us.  So it's a good thing for us to come to know ourselves and our God better and better.  One of the ways we can come to know ourselves and our feelings toward God is through confession, and that's just what our Lord suggests for us in this model. When we say to Him, "Your kingdom come.  Your will be done," our hearts are taking an opportunity to confess that, yes we really do want Him to be King of our lives, and we really do want His will to be our own will as well.  We're confessing that we even want His will to be done just as it is in heaven - where His will indeed rules.

It's good for us to confess these things to Him.  It's like saying, "I love You, God, and I want to be Yours ALL the time!"

Our Lord included that confession in this model prayer.  He knew we needed to make it. Why not say it to Him right now??

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power and the glory
Forever.
Amen.

Thanks Al for the devotional.

Melody I didn't know that you are in Newfoundland.

Great picture of Jazz I love that photo. I wish I could get Bebe and Happy together to be still long enough for a decent photo.

All done at the sleep clinic and I sure didn't sleep good at all last night. I slept less than I do at home. I have a headache and my nose feels like  it is getting stuffed up. They put the  heated humidifier on the machine for me. Plus I was cold and needed another blanket. I told them I was cold but they didn't give me another blanket.

Well I need to get my hair dry now I already washed it.

Hi everyone.

Marilyn, it sounds like you didn't have a very good night.  However, you may have slept a little more than you realized, at least I hope you did.  I am surprised they wouldn't give you another blanket since a person can't be very comfortable if it is chilly.

Al, thanks for the fine devotional today.

The housekeeper is here today so everything will be nice and shiny when she leaves about noon.  We have a cold and dreary day so far here in Georgia.  Pat is up at the Elementary School where she is volunteering in the office once a week.

I have some webwork I need to do today for the church website.  I also need to get things organized for our trip to Florida on Wednesday.

Hope everyone has a good day.

daily meditation
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  Matthew 4:1
A holy character does not prevent temptation--Jesus was tempted.
When Satan tempts us, his sparks fall upon tinder; but in
Christ's case, it was like striking sparks on water; yet the
enemy continued his evil work. Now, if the devil goes on striking when
there is no result, how much more will he do it when he knows what
inflammable stuff our hearts are made of.

Hi Marilyn - this is Marbeth (through Al's fingers):
I'm glad you got to go to the sleep center.  They did me a lot of good.  I am now on the C-Pap machine, and sleep better than I did before.  I hope they can do the same for you.  The Lord bless y'all.

Let your hair down and smile, you need it.  :-)

Horse Sense

Click below and wait for the entire screen to load up with all four horses and a fence in front of them. Then click on each horse.

Make sure your sound is on. Re-click on any horse to make it turn off or turn it back on again. Somebody did some real wizardry of programming to coordinate this!

Try clicking on the horses from left to right then right to left then just one or two at a time... It's fun and a good stress reliever.

Have fun!

Good morning all!  We were supposed to have bad weather last night, but it either missed us, or is late in arriving.  So, I think we are going to go each lunch with Bernard today.  :)

Hope everyone has a good day.  I'll be back 'round later!!

Well!  I'm better at making horses sing than I am at hitting smilies with a paintball.   :)

Busy around here today, just errands, housework, etc.  I had a good hour's workout, and the scales say my body fat content is down by a whopping SIX percent!!!  Yea!!  GO, ME!!!  :) :D  Hard work, but it is paying off.  (puff, pant)

Larry, would you please send that lady over to my house when she finishes yours?  It needs to be spiffied up like Etta Sue's or shiny like yours!  ;)

I must go to the grocery for a few items for us and a few for Beth.  Be back later.

I am home for awhile until Pastor Leroy calls me and tells me they are home from the Dr. appt they had today. This morning I made 4 bibs for Fay's sister, She is pretty much bedfast now, This is Fay's baby sister 87 years old. It is so cold I was going to take the dogs for a walk but I am too cold to go out side. But I am going to go over to the church to see what the WM's are doing today.

So bye

                                       ;)
I saw Jesus last week.
He was wearing blue jeans and an old shirt.
He was up at the church building;
He was alone and working hard.
For just a minute,
he looked a little like one of our members.
But it was Jesus,
I could tell by his smile.

I saw Jesus last Sunday.
He was teaching a Bible class.
He didn't talk real loud or use long words,
But you could tell he believed what he said.
For just a minute,
he looked like my Sunday School teacher.
But it was Jesus,
I could tell by his loving voice.

I saw Jesus yesterday.
He was at the hospital
visiting a friend who was sick.
They prayed together quietly.
For just a minute,
he looked like Brother Jones.
But it was Jesus,
I could tell by the tears in his eyes.

I saw Jesus this morning.
He was in my kitchen
making my breakfast
and fixing me a special lunch.
For just a minute,
he looked like my mom.
But it was Jesus,
I could feel the love from his heart.

I see Jesus everywhere,
Taking food to the sick,
Welcoming others to his home,
Being friendly to a newcomer
and for just a minute
I think he's someone I know.
But it's always Jesus,
I can tell by the way he serves.

May someone see Jesus in you today.

There have been times in my life when I wondered if that stranger was a person or....really Jesus.
Hmmmmm

I am into the annual book sale duties this week.  Have a turkey cooking in the oven & that is looking glorious.  My hips & legs are hurting because of working with the heavy books on concrete & now I am doing research for some old donated books.

That is all for now.  Send that cleaning person ASAP.

I just had a call from Papa John. He said to tell you all, that Cornelia is still in the hospital, 12 days now. The doctor tlaked tot hem this morning and said that if she improves they wouldlike to send her to a Rehab in a few days. But PJ said the doctor didn't sound very encouraging  about Cornelia improving.

I remember that Papa John said on here that Cornelia said before surgery that it iwas alright, but he isn;'t ready to release her just yet, He is waiting to know what God's will is.

I know that Papa John knows we are all continuing to pray for him and Cornelia.  God bless them.

Beth fell again today.  That's twice in three days.  I really don't know what to do about her!  We cannot stay home 24/7 in case she falls, and I don't want to think of her lying on the floor for hours, unable to get up.  :( :-\ :'(  I'm talking to her about a roommate; we will see where that goes.

I am pretty tired for some reason, so plan to go to bed early tonight.

Chris, I really liked your post about seeing Jesus.  I hope others see Jesus in me.

Janet, I'm so sorry about Beth falling again.  She really needs to do something, huh?  A caregiver/roommate would be perfect.  So many hard decisions.  I'm praying for you all.

Still praying for Papa John and Cornelia too.

Chris thanks for posting that about seeing Jesus.

I've been tired all day.  I took a long nap and it felt good. :)

Blessings, Nita
