Morning Devotional...

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
1 John 3:1

A writer who authored eight volumes of systematic theology--and other books beside, when asked what was the most profound theological idea he'd ever thought or heard answered, "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so."

We may call it the crown of theology for it is the solid foundation on which "we live and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28).

The Lord Jesus personifies many attributes but the dearest to each believer is His love.
--E. Dyck

Oh, love that will not let me go,
I rest my weary soul on Thee;
I give Thee back the life I owe,
that in Thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.

Jesus Loves Me  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/jesus-loves-me.midi)
(Click to hear music)

I pray that you...may have power...to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.
Ephesians 3:17-18

Words: Anna B. Warner and David Rutherford McGuire.
Music: William B. Bradbury

Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong.

Refrain
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know,
As He loved so long ago,
Taking children on His knee,
Saying, "Let them come to Me."

Refrain

Jesus loves me still today,
Walking with me on my way,
Wanting as a friend to give
Light and love to all who live.

Refrain

Jesus loves me! He who died
Heaven's gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

Refrain

Jesus loves me! He will stay
Close beside me all the way;
Thou hast bled and died for me,
I will henceforth live for Thee.

Refrain

Jesus loves me when I'm good,
When I do the things I should,
Jesus loves me when I'm bad,
Even though it makes him sad.

Refrain

Good to see so many new posters, here.  My computer is finally up and running well, now.

I'm trying to picture Anthony ? - the Gaither pianist.  Would anyone have a photo?  Thats so sad for his family.

Its cold here, in Guelph.  I'll be glad to go to Florida.  We plan on leaving March 18th.

February 24

The Holy Spirit: An Instrument for God to Use
If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone
ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies,
that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to
whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
--1 Peter 4:11
To please God, a person must be just an instrument for God to use.
For a few seconds, picture in your mind the variety of wonderful
and useful appliances we have in our homes. They have been
engineered and built to perform tasks of all kinds. But without
the inflow of electrical power they are just lumps of metal and
plastic, unable to function and serve. They cannot do their work
until power is applied from a dynamic outside source.
So it is in the work of God in the church. Many people preach and
teach. Many take part in the music. Certain ones try to
administer God's work. But if the power of God's Spirit does not
have freedom to energize all they do, these workers might just as
well stay home.

Natural gifts are not enough in God's work. The mighty Spirit of
God must have freedom to animate and quicken with His overtones
of creativity and blessing.  Tragedy in the Church: The Missing
Gifts, 5-6.

"Lord, deliver us from our dependency on natural gifts. We hunger
for effectiveness in Your work, but too seldom turn loose to let
Your power flow through us. Amen."

I am listening to "Anthony Berger live!"   If you can get that CD, please get it.   It is so amazing.   It starts out with rousing fast music playing "Bye & Bye when the Morning Comes, When all the saints of God are gathered home" and "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there's just something about your name".    In this CD Anthony talks about his life and his 2 sons.   One of his sons is a genius and Anthony said "his  other son is just ordinary LIKE HIM!"     There was nothing ordinary about Anthony Berger!    He should never have played a note because his fingers were burned as a child!  But he was a child prodigy.       He has just played "WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM, JESUS OUR SAVIOUR AND KING"  Please get this CD and you will be TOTALLY BLESSED!    God Bless

Love Ruthie

Good morning.  I am concerned about Papa John not posting about Cornelia.  Has anyone heard from him?

I called a plumber today to give me an estimate on changing the drains so the kitchen sink, the utility room sink and the washer would go into the septic system instead of field tile.  The field tile isn't letting the water drain.  Also an estimate to have a submerged sump pump installed to allow pumping out water when the basement is flooded due to high rains.  This home-ownership sure isn't cracked up what it should be.  Sometimes I wish I had my old mobile home back.

Sunny now...finally.  My solar heat is running and it is getting closer to the freezing mark....30°F and rising.

Yesterday I mistepped as I was going out the back door and the side of my left foot is not doing so well today. It kept me awake most of the night. It as hard to get my shoe on this morning, I am going to call my Foot Dr. and see if he is in the McKinelyville office today. I just saw him yesterday. Bummer.

Gotta go fix my breakfast.

Just a note to let you know we brought Cornelia home yesterday.  She still is far from well and unfortunately suffers a lot of pain.  The pain is not from the heart itself but from chest congestion.  We continue to pray for her all the time.  Martha has taken off from work for four weeks and is taking off next week.  Fortunately she has a lot of sick days left.  We are getting a lot of help from nurses from the church.  Thanks for your prayers.  I love all of you.

Ohhh, Papa John...  I'm so happy to hear from you but not the news.  I'm glad that Cornelia is hope with you but not that she's suffering from pain.  I will continue to pray for the both of you.  And your family circle.

Subject:  Paul Harvey

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness
And to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says,
"Woe to those who call evil good," but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and! Set us free.
Amen!"

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program,
"The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program
than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer
sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again
can be called "One nation under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends.
"If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything."

I know we are all continuing to pray for Cornelia and all those who love her.  Thank you, Papa John, for taking the time to let us know.

Karma, Faye lives in Roseburg....probably about 50 miles from me.  A 14 year old boy brought a gun to school and shot another boy.  He shot 4 times, I guess mostly in the face.  Blessedly the boy is alive, but will need lots of facial reconstruction I heard.  The school, the town are in shock.  This is just one more expample of a boy lost, filled with pain and anger, and using violence as a way of resolving it.  The story hasn't come out yet, that I know, but should  soon.  It's just so sad........and scarey.  Our schools are not safe places for kids anymore. Where God is not welcome.........evil is.  And educators don't understand that at all.

Edit: I was wrong.  It wasn't in the face.  3 in the torso and one in the arm.  They did say he will need reconstructive surgery, but not in his face. I misunderstood.

Oh Papa John I am sorry that the health proiblems continue.  I am continuing in prayer for you both.

Melody the Canadians have done so well in the Olympics.  We have reason to be proud of the athletes.  A lot of hard work went into their training.

Yes it is a sunny day here as well. It is -10*C and it feels really damp.

I am sorry to hear of the shooting.  Kids are so cruel to each other.  Parents have a hard time teaching good values when the world is against them.  My neice Pat's daughter said something in an email that is very true and revealing.  We as parents need to pray more than we do for our children.  We can never pray enough.

I have sound now!!!! BUT, I have Windows XP now and I saved a file to a floppy.  Would you believe it I cannot open that file!  I know there is a way but it eludes me.  I was told it is something about the disk being  Win 98 and my system being XP.  I need to go and see if I can correct the problem.  It has all Kassies homework on it!

God bless all of you

Melody, I was sitting here with tears streaming down my face when the TV zoomed in on Brad as he was holding his cell phone and saying, "Mum, will you please answer the phone?"

Such a nice young man.

Indeed, Cornelia and Papa John need more prayers.

Pat:  I wish that you didn't have the flu and strep throat - much too much!

We are going to granddaughter sit for a few days as daughter is going to help a good friend with her friend's father's funeral.  Son-in-law and grandson are out of state with a hockey tournament.  This frees me from working at the books sale tomorrow & just in time as my back is aching.  Oh, sometimes a guardian angel just steps in to care for us.

ALSO...

ALBUM BUTTON

Over to the right of this post where you see my photo and my name, just above, you'll see an "ALBUM BUTTON".  That takes you directly to my album in the Christian Photographers Gallery.

If you click on my name beside this post or anyone's name to view their Profile, under their avatar or Profile photo, you'll see a little button that says "Album".  It looks like this:  (https://www.christianphotographers.com/community/Themes/neptune11/images/alb.gif)

If you click on that in my profile, you'll be taken right to my Photo Gallery!

Isn't that neat?

If you aren't taken to a person's Gallery, it's because they haven't created their album.   And we sure hope that everyone does create their album.

Member Map

To see who have put their pin on the map, scroll up to the top and click on where it says, "Member Map" just under our top banner.

To add your pin to the map, you go into your profile.   You can set your pin by going to the "Forum Profile Information" section of your profile.

Once you find the spot by using the arrows to find your country first and then by zooming in to your area where you want to place your pin, simply click on the map to set it there and then click the button below the map to save changes to your profile.

If you find that you placed your pin in the incorrect place, just click it again in your profile and replace it in the correct spot.

Make sure you do NOT try to put your pin on the map with a view of the whole of North America or even your whole state but zoom in until you find the right spot.

The membermap is for all of us,  so have fun with it!

Well tonight was youth and cadets.  The girls have been disappointed that there is not going to be a competition this year and have really enjoyed Friday night family night.  Soo they turned their uniforms in.  Elizabeth has already joined Air Cadets, and Kasssie will join next September.

We went to town and bought more dog food.  The puppies are really mowing down on it so I got them some puppie chow.  They will do better with that.

Pat I will check out the CP changes later tonight, oh and you will be having company the 5th and 12th.

Well back to see what else is new on the Olympics.

Night all

I put mine on there but it is not showing up when I go to the map.

I had my foot xrayed there are no broken bone but it is a lot of shades of Blue Red and Green the brusing has just started so It will get darker maybe by tomorrow. The Doc said he could put a boot cast on it but it would probably be a lot more awkward than just leaving it alone. I chose to leave it.

I am tired tonight it was a long day, I didn't get home until 5:30.
