Morning Devotional...Thus shall ye do in the fear of the Lord, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. . . He did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart. 2 Chronicles 19:9; 25:2
The advice Jehoshaphat gave the Levites in Jerusalem is most appropriate for servants of the Lord today. The important issue is not so much what we do, but rather the heart attitude which motivates our service for Him.
He wants
"to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him" (16:9).
Don't forfeit the blessing of the Lord because of a wrong heart attitude.
--Wm. GustafsonNo service in itself is small;
none great, though earth it fill;
But that is small which seeks its own,
and great that seeks God's will.

Yayyyy! I'm gonna be first!!!!
Nards...........
You should be in bed. You beat me. ;)
I was writing to Liz in another forum and a thought came to mind that we might like to discuss.
Almighty God is in fact "Love," but we sometimes forget to speak of how He is a vengeful God, and His wrath should be spoken of, and how man should fear Him. Some folks only speak of love, and this He is, but He's something to fear for sure.
Pat...........
Where on earth do you get all of your devotionals? You're quite a trooper, and a faithful child of our Lord. "Ye shall know them by their fruits."
GOOD MORNING 10.52AM in Holland.
PAT thank you very much for your devotional i hope and pray that you have a safe trip to
LONDON.
Hi JENNY you are also online i talk you later.
SONJA where are your lovely graphics ???
ZACHERY nice to see you on CP i hope you are a little bit better but you are in my prayers boy.

GARETHPARKES TO CP
RIA :)
10.20 am.U.K.
Ria Good morning sister. :D
Thanks re the "Landscape of the day." It is not barren when we can keep in touch via C.P. and the web. God is so good to us.
Pat Thankyou! I pray that I may not "miss the moment" and that I may do and seek God's will in my life.
"Do as I say and not as I do" would fit many in ministry today. We are lucky to have Pastor Al on here. He listens and gives us the benefit of his wisdom and sometimes he gives us the benefit of the doubt. . We are all learning. I love the Isaiah study, though we have journeyed about a bit beyond Isaiah.
It is very cold and something wet and icy is coming down from the sky. Snow is forecast but it is too cold yet.
Prayers and blessings.
Jenny.
Good Morning Everyone...
Well, I'm rushing around here getting ready to travel to London. It's snowing out quite heavily so I'd would covet your prayers on my behalf. I've had an almost sleepless night. Have you ever just laid there and sleep would not come? Well, that's the kind of night I had so I prayed for each one of our CP peope that I could think of.
Not sure when I'll get home. But it shouldn't be that late. Then I go back on Thursday again!
I've been singing this this morning as I've been getting ready. Thought you might like to sing it too.

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me'." Matthew 16:24
Words - Mary B.C. Slade, 1826-1882
Music - Asa B. Everett, 1871
Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,
Come, follow Me!
And we see where Thy footprints falling
Lead us to Thee.
Refrain
Footprints of Jesus,
That make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus
Where'er they go.
Though they lead o'er the cold, dark mountains,
Seeking His sheep;
Or along by Siloam's fountains,
Helping the weak.
Refrain
If they lead through the temple holy,
Preaching the Word;
Or in homes of the poor and lowly,
Serving the Lord.
Refrain
Then at last, when on high he sees us
Our journey done,
We will rest where the steps of Jesus
end at his throne.

:) :) Thank you, Pat for the devotional and especially for the song! I have enjoyed singing it.
I pray that your journey to London will be safe and that the snow does not hinder you. If I lived up there in the snowy regions..I guess I would be a hermit and stay in all winter. I just cannot handle that much snow.
It was good to see Zach writing here yesterday! I am glad he feels better.
Hello to Ria and Jenny from across the big waters! I guess it must be about 11:30 your time. Are we 5 hrs away? or more?
May God bless and keep each of you in His special way today and may we as Christians give out the love of Jesus to all we see.
love, kathy :-* :-*
Hello Kathy..
Yes I am 5 hours ahead of Canada. Ria is 1 hour ahead of me..God bless you sister.
Pat I needed those words from the hymn thanks sis. I din't sleep last night either and today I have dropped the milk and can't think straight..ha ha, what's new? I will pray you on your way to London, Ont. Hope you are soon sorted. These journies are so trying aren't they?
Chris sees the specialist tonight, Please God get this sorted also. He needs to get on with his life...oh dear, the Nat. health System!!!
Zach Hello my young pal! Glad you feel a bit better. 8)
'til later.
Jenny.
Goodmorning as I woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow.
Safe driving to all that must be out.
Ruth
God's hand around you Pat, as you drive.
I went to work today in freezing wet drizzle,
sat in the van, read my morning paper, and said to my son, " shall we go home and try again tomorrow"?
Needless to say he jumped at that with a "too right".
So I came home nodded off on the couch, and awoke to a nice dry day!!!!!
I hate it when it does that!
But the novelty had worn off by then, so a lazy day for me, and the rest will do me no harm .
Praise God,, for His ways are past finding out lol. :)
Who would be a roofing contractor in winter?
Well me I guess! :D
Pat You and Melaura could have talked last night. She was up till after 4:00 am.
Yes I will be praying for you as you travel.
Ria I am emailing you .
We have beautiful sunlight here. It is so bright as it reflects off the snow. This is the second day of sun and tinted glasses are very much needed. The only problem with the clear skies, there is no blanket of cloud to keep the heat in at night. The temp is -18*C. Seems we're into a deep freeze again. I hope the temps don't go as low as they did in January.
We are taking a van to Sudbury tomorrow night to see the Passion of Christ. I am so looking forward to it. There will be 7 of us going all good friends and the trip each way will be one of fellowship.
Well I just stopped in to say hello, so now I will say bye and be back later.
Love Judy
G'mornin' y'all. It isn't raining at the moment! Summer's just around the corner!
Ruth Ann - I have a question for you. You speak of going to work, coming back from work, much work, little work - what is your work? I'm so curious. It will get me a cat's reward, I think.
I have a question: Do any of you think on the fact that the end of your time is drawing closer and closer? I guess that this question is directed more towards the older crowd, but not necessarily so.
CASE IN POINT: My brother died last year at age 64. Our relatives lived to their 80's & 90's.
With my brothers death, I find myself no longer thinking I will live to 80 or 90. I realize that come October 2004, I could die at age 64, just like my brother did.
If that weren't bad enough, a very good friend died last week, he was 55.
So-oooo, am I the only one that thinks on this?
In recent years My wife and I have discussed who would go first and we feel very comfortable talking about it.
I haven't expanded on this as much as I could, but these are the basics.
Whatdaya think?
Fast Eddie, Yes, John and I have discussed this as well, and are really comfortable doing so. It is a matter of dealing with our own mortality and knowing that when we do die we will go to be with our Lord and Saviour. That is the comfort. Our reason for such talk is the job John has. There is always the possibility that there can be an accident and John will be killed. So with us it isn't a matter of what has happened to others rather the reality that accidents occur every day. That is precisely why I pray as he walks out the door I pray for his safety and protection.
We have in place what we want to happen when one of us goes. so keep talking, and keep praying for one another. Watch your diet, and exercise to stay as healthy as you can. That will help lengthen your days.
God Bless you
Judy
I found the devotion in my Day of Praise booklet from the Institute of Creation Research quite interesting this morning considering that there are variouse interpetations going on in regards to the Prophecies in Isaiah in the Manna folder.
February 24 - INTERPRETING THE BIBLE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" (II Peter 1:20-21).
One basic reason why so many people seem to have trouble understanding the Bible is that they try to "interpret" it to fit their private opinions. The Greek word for "private" (idios) is related to such English words as "idiom" and "idiosyncrasy," and this key passage warns us against any exposition of Scripture which is based on the teacher's pet doctrinal or behavioral prejudices. A reader or hearer of the Word of God whose "heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing" will be unable to "understand" (Matthew 13:15) because he comes with his mind and heart already bound to his own opinions.
The Bible does not need to be "interpreted" at all. In every other New Testament reference to "interpretation," except the one in our text (which means "explanation" or "exposition"), the meaning is simply "translation." The Bible does, of course, need to be correctly translated from Greek and Hebrew into English and other national languages, but that is all. God is able to say what He means, and He wants to communicate His authoritative Word to men and women of obedient hearts, who are willing to devote diligent study to all the Scriptures (II Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 5:12-14), to obey them (James 1:22), and then teach them to others (II Timothy 2:2,24-26), carefully, and clearly, and graciously.
To such students of the Word, the promise is: "Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God" (Proverbs 2:3-5). Good Morning everybody!!!! How are you all doing this morning. I'm doing just about good.
I slept great last night and am glad to see everyone thinking of me.
Well to answer all your questions, I'm doing a little better from last night but just a teany bit better.
Zachery
Thank you, Judy, for the lovely comments about my posts but I can't do that today. I am in a hurry. Ivalou and I are going somewhere to eat...her day to choose. So I have to make this short.
It is certainly getting close to seeing 'The Passion...' in its entireity (sp). I am getting jazzed!!!!!<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

Eddie - I don't think your thoughts are at all unusual. In fact, I think we ought to think those thoughts. Psalm 90:12 says, "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Our days on earth are definitely and exactly numbered. While it is called today we need to apply our hearts to wisdom, for there will be no opportunity after some definite point, a point which we know not. May our God bless you, and may He bless me as well as we seek to be right and do right will it is called today. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
welcome GARETHPARKS to CP!!
Eddie Not strange at all. I have made and paid for my own burial arrangements. I have told my son where all my papers are. My husband died aged 52. three of my friends in their early 50s and my maternal grandfather and one of my mother's sisters died very young..40s to 50s...My mother and her other sisters died early 60s.
My father is still alive at 87 and that with 10 years of bladder cancer and other related problems. His family was very long lived. 80s to 90s
and one dear old aunt...my Great, great Aunt Mercy died 107. She was a wonderful lady and outlived her own sons.
"In the midst of life we are in death"
Surely from the moment we come to life on this earth we are dying...it's the sin thing!
Not to worry if you haven't the cash to pay for the funeral...you already have life insurance....

Fast Eddie, your question is an interesting one and one we all need to remember. My Dad died at 53 and my older brother died when he was 54. I will be 77 the 10th of May, if I am still here. Life is so fragile we do not know what will happen today or tomorrow. I had a close call last year with heart attack, cardiac arrest, colon cancer and surgery, six blood transfusions, in the hospital three weeks. But I am still here and I thank God for his blessings.
James 4:13-15 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money."
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." (NIV)
Good to see everyone today.

Some wonderful replies to your question Eddie. Papa John, you are such a comfort.
I expect most Christians think about this subject. That is why I sold my Condo when the opportunity arose and invested the money in the kid's home...now my suite in their house. Less problems now that I am at the stage in life where everything is becoming more difficult. Also less loose ends for them to tie off ....
Judy B gave great advice. Pray lots and eat & exercise wisely. God will take care of the rest. I am off to Victoria today. Still not feeling great but things need doing. So off I go to do them.
Have a great day all. Liz
There's going to be a catastrophe on Thursday. It will probably continue till Sunday.
This is not a prophecy. Just a prediction based on information.
Hundreds of youth pastors are going to take their youth groups to see The Passion of the Christ.
That's good.
Except....
They've forgotten that it's an R-rated movie.
A huge percentage of the people in a youth group are under 17. The youth pastors aren't legal guardians or parents, and they're not taking the parents along....
That means the youth director is going to have to take those kids back home....
After all, the Christians are the ones who have raised Cain about the theatres letting underage people watch R movies.
I would love to know the number of youth pastors that run in to this problem....
Thursday afternoon, three churches in our area reserved an ENTIRE theatre for one showing at 4 pm. They are encouraging students to bring their friends and are "selling" tickets at $4 each "in advance"....
What do you all think? Am I crazy????
EXERCISE....DIET......Yikes, now you've gone to meddlin'
Thank you all for the responses. I knew that I wasn't alone in my thots, I just felt that a lota folks don't ever talk about it...AND don't want to.
The young don't like me talkin' bout it, but then they still think they are immortal and invincible. Or that death is so-ooo far in the future that they've gotta lot a time left.
I can remember at age 10 when I thot the year 2000 was so-ooo very far in the future and I would be 60 IF I lived that long....Wow 2004 already.
Yes, I am very secure in position my with Jesus, but it wasn't always that way. Most of us can probably say the same thing.
WORDS OF WISDOM: Keep on truckin' The Son will burn away the mist, the clouds will clear and then "We shall be like Him." (Pat: There's a song in there somewhere.)
Bernard: Wow I think those youth Pastors have not really given that fact a thought. I saw some one on the TV, maybe it was James Dobson who said that parents should go see the film first and then make the decision if they wanted their children to see the film. Good advice in my humble opinion. This morning I heard that it is 2 hours of violence and that it was not a movie for children to see unless they are firmly grounded in their Christianity and then only with the parents present.
Nards ! ! ! WOW I had never thought of that. I am personally so excited to see this movie. What about calling the churches and warning them? At least your own? Don't know what else to suggest.
Well in Ontario we have to have our oil heating system certified by a qualified service man. (John used to have his licencing, but let it lapse when he went into trucking) John has called the Government body concerning this and found out the regs. Companies are refusing to sell to the public as "this is the law", yet there is nothing in the law that says we cannot do our own work, we just need it checked by someone qualified. We need a new oil tank. Our service company said we cannot buy one and install it ourselves yet they cannot produce the paperwork to back up their position. As the Person in the government said this has turned into a money grab. So a call to someone else, we can pick up the oil tank and install it, and the company delivering our oil will check the installation, and we will be away to the races.
Our new water pump is great. it seems to have two pressure points, and is not at full pressure all the time. It is quiet and I think the 2 pressure levels are a protection mechanism. I hope. Heather was right when she said I have had no end of trouble with the water system in this place. The joys of an old home. The cement on the basement floor was poured on June 19th, 1940. The house is much older than that. :o
"Teach us to number our days." What an awesome verse to go with todays discussion.
Bye for now.

A Miracle..Chris having tonsils out.
well I call it a miracle...God sorted it.
The specialist has put him into the fast lane for a tonsillectomy..within 3 months or a cancellation..He said if someone cancels Chris can have it done tomorrow., Chris was only in there for 10 minutes.
Gos is sooooooooooo good. Thanks for the faithful ones who continued to pray for my son. I love you all.
Jenny :D
As a matter of fact, Nard, one of the youth directors we know well has just run into that problem. :-\ In Franklin, NC (about an hour from here), one of the youth pastors was going to take his youth group. The theatre there is apparently pretty strict about being 18 to get into a R movie, and told them that under 17 would need a parent with them. Ouch. So, they have come up with the solution that hte students will need a signed consent/release to enter. I think i will go call my brother and see if he has thought of this.
About thinking about the end of your life. I have, even though I am "young." I've even gone so far as to tell Bernard who I want to preach, if they are still around. :P I have stopped short of writing what they need to say, or what songs need to be played/sung, but that may come sometime.
I can see though, why it would be hard to deal with. I know some that can't deal with their own mortality at all, and freak out if they have the least little health problem. I don't think it needs to be thought about continually, but it doesn't need to be totally ignored, either.
Hi Everyone, thanks for raptorous welcome, totally unexpected.
Pat got me thinking about how we tend to do many things for God in our Churches and how we tend to do only what we should do because we are duty bound, but I wonder if we are willing to stick our necks out and do something because it is good for someone else... just a thought.
I was asked sweetly what denomination I am; I am a Baptist minister, but that is my vocation. I am a Christian and you will find me wherever Christians are to be found. Try as I may, I cannot seem to knock the religion out of people and sometimes I wonder if Jesus came into our Churches, whether he would actually be welcome. I was baptised in the AOG where I fellowshiped for several years until I moved to a new home in Johannesburg, South Africa; my local friendly Church was Baptist. It was while I was there that I went to Theological College for a year and followed up with 3 years at Spurgeons College in London.
I have been in full time ministry for four years but intend to go into a "tent making ministry" at the end of the year. This will be in the Thames Gateway where 50 000 new homes are to be built. The opportunity for us here in the UK is the authorities are making no provision for the building of new Churches.

I am thrilled for you mom ..... I remember living in Loring, and we had a quiet, 2 pressure point, pump, and it was wonderful. The only difference between our well in Loring and yours is that mine was a drilled well. So I suppose you will still have to be careful with the amount of water that you have to use, but I am sure you will enjoy having the new pump.
Well, another day, another dollar as the saying goes. It is funny, when I was working for this company the last time, I didn't enjoy going to work. However this time, I find myself looking forward to going to work every day. I am on a project (telephone calling project) that I can honestly say that I really enjoy, and when I found out that I was going to be on this project, I was really excited. There is no way of describing how excited I really was.
If I could ask all of you to pray about something, we are looking for a place to live. We are currently staying with my brother, however this is only temporary. If you all could pray that the right place, at the right price could be provided for us, I would really appreciate it.
So on that note, I must run, I have to go and get ready to go to work. I leave here in about 2 hours and will be gone until about 12:30. Makes for late nights, but it is well worth it.
Love to all
Heather

Our Pastor spoke about this on Sunday. If we are doing it out of love then it means nothing to God.
Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself to us.

Thanks Nards for that info. I will give our youth group leader a call. I am going with the youth group so I have no worries, but the other parents will have to sign a waver.

This thought has crossed my mind. I see my parents getting older and my grandmothers passing away and knowing that I will be there soon. I try not to think to much about it.
Hope you find peace with in to over come this little fear. It would be hard and I can't imagine how you feel because I am so much younger. I am guessing when I get to that point I will remember this little conversation we had on CP.
I have heard the saying "living to a ripe old age" but surely when something is "ripe" it's ready for the Master's table.
Or alternately ready to fall out of the tree, or off it's perch! lol. :)

Oh thanks Chris...
"I am ripening up then".....Looking forward to Our Master's Table and the 'New Wine'.
Love Jenny.
Yes, The Passion....is rated R. So kids should be accompanied with their parents or have a parental consent to see 'the experience'. The teens at my church are going Sunday morning and then returning to church for discussion and pizza lunch. ALL of them have to have a parental consent signed by a parent to attend the viewing.
Death. Death has never seemed sad to me. Yes, I will miss the deceased but we are born to die. That is inevitable. I have longevity on both sides of my family but I truly don't feel as healthy as my parents when they were my age. When you think of it....if you are married, one of you are bound to die before the other. One of you will be left to carry on on this earth. One of you will have to play both rolls...the man and woman's duties. I am talking about death when you are older. I still don't understand death of a child. I believe burying your child would be a very hard task to do. Parents shouldn't have to do that. As for my own death...I am ready. When my husband passed away, I then put everything in my name and my son's name. He is my only child but I wanted to simplify it for him when I go. And no, he doesn't like to talk about it. But I believe everyone should talk about it. And yes, I do have my plot...I used to say the only property I owned was my cemetery lot....and my tombstone is up as well. Funeral...no, but there is money being left for that.
Ivalou and I had lunch at Chili's! Great lunch. Then we shopped at Wal-mart!!
O, you look pretty fit Jen!

Hi Everyone!
Ohhhh, it's so good to be home! I got in a massive traffic jam on the way down and it took about an hour or a little more to move 8 miles. When it started to move, there was no obvious reason for it. No evidence of an accident or construction or anything!
Needless to say, I was very late for my appointment but I had my cell so called and everything was fine.
Now, I have to go back on Thursday!
Great to read your posts today.
Lovely to see your post, Gareth! So you're originally from South Africa? In the little Baptist church I used to attend when I lived in Richmond Hill, the pastor there was from Elizabethtown. I think that was the name of it.
He was very interesting. His father followed in the footsteps of David Livingstone and was made the honorary "king" of some tribe up near the Congo or somewhere. This pastor had the "long thing" (you sure can tell I know what I'm talking about!) that was used to put on the shoulders of his father by the head of the clan or tribe or .... (I better stop before I really put my foot in my mouth!)
Anyway, great to have you Gareth! Got your PM and interesting to know you were in Brentwood and Leigh-on-Sea so recently! It's been years and years since I was there.
Well by the time you're in your 70's it's for sure you are aware of the fact that life is not never-ending. :D But ours is eternal. :D :D :D
My mother, 92 years old, started in her 40's reminding everyone that "No woman in my family has ever lived past 65." So now she wants to know "How did I get to be so old?" ;D
I've always had big ears Chris...ha ha!!
Good night all from England.
God Bless.
Well this has been a day . I am glad it is nearly over.
G'night Jenny. Sleep well
G'night too Ria.
Pat it is too bad there was a traffic jam. Could have been an accident that gor removed before you got to the front of the line.
LOL our pump quit AGAIN! ! ! ::) There was no power, so Melaura decided to change the fuses even though they looked good .........We have water. Yeaaaaaaay Melaura.
Well got to get
Bye for now. Judy
Just to lull Jenny to sleep...

Words and music by Alfred B. Smith and John Peterson
"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
Solomon 2:1
There's a Beautiful Rose ever blooming,
In the Garden of God's Love for me;
It has filled all the world with it's fragrance,
It will last for eternity.
Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.
Precious Savior, I'll always adore Thee,
For with Thee no one else can compare;
By Thy Love so divine, I'm enraptured,
Thou are fairer than all of the fair.
Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.
Are you lost in your sins ~ tired of living?
Is your heart filled with bitterness, too?
Come to Jesus, the sweet Rose of Sharon,
He has the power to make you anew.
Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Pat, isnt' traffice just a wonderful and fun thing to have to deal with? NOT I'm glad that you are home safe. Thursday is supposed to be nice weather-wise so hopefully your drive won't be as bad.
I have some paperwork to take care of, so must be off. Talk to everyone later.
Yes, it is Sue. Traffic problems are Horrible!
The traffic started to move more quickly at the Service Centre between Woodstock and Ingersoll, Judy and maybe they took the culprits into the service centre but there were no marks on the highway or in the snow banks to show that there had been a problem.
One thing that Jawad (my dental student) told me today is that I only have maybe four more visits! And then I'll be done. I'm not sure how I'm going to react to have a hunk of stuff in my mouth though! ??? ::) :-\
Hi everybody. We are due for some big time raing and wind coming in tonight, Perhaps Jane and Nita are already getting it or will about the same time we are.
Right now it is sunshine and t-shirt weather. Long Sleeved t-shirt that is.
Not much to say this afternoon. sooooooo
TTYL
Hi Marilyn! I can hardly wait for T shirt weather to come here! Oh what a day that will be!
Great to see you back home, Janet! Hope that Darrel had a good visit with his doctor.
So, now we're both home!
My journey wasn't as far as yours though.
Well, Hi there, Pat! I tend to forget that you can see who is online! ;D We left very early this morning, and when we got to Amarillo it was snowing. His doctor got Darrel right in, then we went to see his sister, because we missed her last week. We went to the Golden Corral and had lunch with them, then just came right on home. We did stop in Hugoton for a bit and had a nice visit with our son in law, got hugs from Mark and Abby, too! ;D
His doctor changed Darrel's meds, said he appears to be doing well, next appointment in six months. :D
Pat, I'm glad you are safely home. And I will be happy for you when your teeth are all fixed! ;D ;D
Hey! I sent in our deposit today for that trip, so we WILL be seeing you in September! Yeaaaaa!!! I can hardly wait!! ;D 8)

I am having trouble with my email program again can't send any out. Bummer, ncoming is fine. II have been through the troubleshooting and still not working. Frustrated now at all the time I spent working on it.
I heard just now on the news that the sea is going to be having 25-30 foot waves and the winds to 50 mph. I wonder if I should take down the bird feeder until the wind is over. ??? ???
Al: Looking back I noticed your question addressed to Ruth Ann well I think it was for me. I have been driving a School Bus for coming up 34 yrs. a morning trip to take the children to school and then the afternoon trip to return the children home and the time in between I usually go home to do what is needed. Tomorrow morning (every Wednesday unless something comes up) some of my co-workers will have breakfast together before going home. In fact on a very recent meeting we spent most of the time sharing our beliefs.
Some of you will say my that is a long time, my reason for starting in the first place was that we had a frig. & stove that needed to be paid for and the years just kept adding up. Our sons health also made it difficult for me to look for a full time position as daycare would have been a problem and also my husband wanted that I be a stay at home mom.
Ruth
Hello all!
In an odd turn of events, Bernard and I were faced with the reality of death today. :'( His grandfather, Papaw Wheeler (Thara Acie Wheeler) passed away about 6:30 eastern time, tonight. It is a happy occassion and a sad one both. Sad because he was a beautiful man and a dear saint, but happy because I bet he is running the streets of gold right now!! woohoo!!!! He had been sick for quite a while, and to know that he is no longer suffering or sick is wonderful.
Remember the other day when we were discussing the difference between fundamentalist and evangelical? Well, Papaw was one of the most staunch fundamentalist that I have ever known. Yet, when he preached (I only heard him a few times as his health prevented him from taking the pulpit much), he didn't preach like a lot of the fundamentalist preachers around here do. They are all about telling you what they believe and pounding it down as gospel. Papaw didn't do that. He was Jesus-based.
Based on his personal testimony, and the fruit of his life, he is in Heaven right now!!!!!
So, any way, please forgive Nards and I if we aren't around much the next couple of days. Deaths are still "celebrated" much like they were in the "old days" here in the Appalachian mountains. We will probably spend the better part of the next two or three days (until the funeral) at either Papaw's house, or one of the kid's houses. We will have lots and lots of food from area churches. We will have "receiving friends" or visitation either one night or just before the funeral. etc. etc. etc.
(I only explain that because I have found that what is so ordinary to us-uns is completely foreign to other parts of the country).
Anyway. Please pray for us (especially Bernard's mom, it was her dad), and we will be in here when we can!

G'mornin' y'all. It isn't raining at the moment! Summer's just around the corner!
Ruth Ann - I have a question for you. You speak of going to work, coming back from work, much work, little work - what is your work? I'm so curious. It will get me a cat's reward, I think.
Al, I'm a data analyst who can't retire yet because of needing insurance coverage for medical care and prescriptions.
Most difficult week last week - a file got corrupted and my boss HAD to meet with the top level executives at a client's office 3-hours drive away from his home at breakfast on Monday. So, you-know-who worked many long hours to recreate that file.
I'm very thankful that I can print to a color printer in Detroit from my desk in Nashville. That's how I got the reports printed out for him on Sunday night. When he got to the office at 4 am, he made b/w copies for himself, and was on his way.
Retirement certainly looks enticing - maybe a year from February - ooops! that's only a year from this month, isn't it!
Ruth Ann
I have just posted a couple of photos and now I have to get prepared for the coming storm, I need to connect a regular phone, not a cordless. Just in case and get out the flashlights, the candles are always out I use a lot of candles. See y-all tomorrow.

Bye for now. Judy
Judy, that's so good. Glad it was just a fuse. I remember things like this up in the Maple house with that massive furnace and then at the farm everything was breaking down. Not nice.
Great that Melaura could fix it.
GOOD FOR YOU MELAURA!!!
Nards and Karma, we will be remembering you and the whole family during the coming days. Isn't it wonderful not to have to wonder where Papaw is now? God is SO good!
Jentzen Franklin is on TBN and he is so good.....I am getting off here to listen to him now.
Talk to y'all tomorrow!
Now, what about your oil tank, Judy?
I just found this for you, Judy. LOL LOL

Oh, Karma and Nards!
I'm so very sorry to read this. Somehow I missed your post and saw Janet's to you and had to go back. I have a neighbour in here right now but he's on the phone so thought I'd come and check the posts.
Thank you Pat for the devotional and that lovely song. Tonight my footsteps led me to another apartment building and my team spoke to a young fellow standing in his doorway for 1 1/2 hours. In the beginning he said he believed in evolution and wasn't sure about the Bible. In the end he came right out in the hall and after asking some hard questions he said YES TO JESUS!
Please pray for Anyolfi from the Dominican Republic. He needs your prayer to grow in his new found faith. We are going to follow up and have him read the Bible, pray and fellowship with people his own age at the church. We asked him if there was someone he could tell about what he had just done and he said "Yes, I will tell my brother". Needless to say we were all very excited about this divine appointment.
I am so happy to be able to tell my CP brothers and sisters about my EE experiences. God Bless
Love Ruthie
Pat, glad your day was not too stressful. I am off to bed now. Have an early day tomorrow. God Bless
Love Ruthie
