Morning Devotional...The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: He wakeneth morning by morning, He wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. Isaiah 50:4
A few people are gifted to speak the right word--when, how and where. Others need a course of divine instruction.
How blessed to be wakened with the morning's clarity of mind to listen and be taught by the Holy Spirit through the Scriptures.
The "instructed mind" adds richness and meaning to our contacts with others while pursuing daily activities.
May we be aware of those in need and have a word to offer in season.
--E. DyckIf some disheartened one I meet,
tell me, Lord, just what to speak;
And if perchance I lift a load
'twill be a gift worth more than gold.
Hello everyone,
I am home from class (acutally quite early) and getting ready to go get ready for bed! so i'll talk to ya'll in the morning
Sarah
Oh, that I would have the right words to say when I need them! For me, more often than not, it is a matter of knowing when to keep my mouth shut! :-X I think a lot of it is being more Christ-centered than self-centered. When Christ is first, it is easier to see what others need, I think.
Hi Sarah!! Hope the class/school is going well. Thanks for keeping us updated!!
Quoteby Janet: We will be seeing The Passion on Sunday afternoon, if all goes according to plan.
Hope to hear others of you commenting on the film after you see it!
I saw the film last night ... others were getting together to discuss it but all I wanted to do was come home and be alone with Jesus! I have no comment ... it is a very personal, internal, experience and there are no words. I feel what I feel and I doubt if I will ever find words to express it. :'(
9.30 a.m. U.K.
Goodmorning Pat, and Jane.
Ria, Hallo dear when you come in. Hope you feel a bit better today. :)
This devotional is special for me Pat. It reminds me of the similar scripture verse which I was given by a dear elder and his wife at my full water baptism.
"I speak of the things which I have made touching the King: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer."Psalm 45:1
I pray that I may always seek to "speak the word in season" and to think before I speak, that I may use the "pen of the ready writer" wisely. In Jesus Name. Amen.
JaneI agree, some things are too personal to explain, or more importantly to share with others. Sometimes in sharing you loose something of the "special" blessing . I am glad the film spoke to you in such a meaningful way. God bless dear sister.
Some snow fell during the night and the sun is shining now and everything looks very pretty....from a distance. I don't enjoy snow anymore. I used to and I am sure our Zach and the other "youngsters" do
Hi Zach. See you later.
Karma and Sarah. Last but not least., Hello to both.
God Bless
Jenny.
Psalm 127...Pastor Al.
Thank you dear Pastor Al for the work you do on Psalms. How often I pop in to find wisdom via you in that section.
Folks I do recommend that if you are feeling a bit blue and are not sleeping you go and see what Pastor has written re Psalm 127. It really has helped me.
Jenny
GOOD MORNING ALL 10.56 AM in Holland
PAT thank you for the good devotional
this morning.
Hi JENNY yes i am feeling me allright
today we have no snow but in the south of Holland there is fallen this night 25 cm. And i am no more such a lot sneeze.
Yesterday evening i have buy the book
THE PURPOSE DRIFEN LIFE writen by Rick Warren but the book is translated in Dutch so i have buy the Dutch
outlay. I have read the first pages about the 40 days.
This sunday we also in the church are starting a 40 days time this are the 40 days before Eastern we have 2 Easterndays also in America and Canada?
Then we live sober. But in the Roman Catolic churches
they are doing more. But Sout Holland there are the most Roman Catolic churches. Some people there they are now walking with a little black cross on here forehead.
There is today started a long walk
for freedom in Holland. That is for the 26000 asylum
seekers they must go back to their own country's.
They are illegal in Holland and they are never get a
recidence permit from the government. First may stay
the people from Somalia and Afganistan. But they must now also away. In March there is coming a start with the deportation. But a lot people are against this.
Also sick people woman and children must go.
This is a song of Praise they we also are singing a lot in Holland but then in Dutch.
Abba Fahter, let me be
yours, and yours alone.
Maybe my will forever be
evermore your own.
Never let my heart grow cold,
never let me go,
Abba Fahter, let me be
yours, and yours alone.
DAVE BILBROUGH.

Ria
I have popped back for a mo...Thanks for the Hyumn..
"Never let my heart grow cold"
Yes we heard on British radio re the Dutch decision on immigrants. Our Government is also taking strict measures.
It is very sad for the genuine ones who are seeking refuge. We have so much and we must learn to share. There is so much fear on all sides.
"Lord Jesus,
Actions speak louder than words, the "word in season" isn't always enough. Give us courage to stand up and be counted.
"The fields are white unto harvest."
Help us to love one another and to share "love" in action with the many less fortunate than ourselves.,
Especially guide us to consider refugees and to stand up for them when they are under oppression because those who are allowed to remain in Holland and U.K. will suffer persecution from the ignorant in our countries who do not know that:-
"The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof.
The world and they that dwell therein." Ps 24:1
We own nothing, everything is Yours Lord. Please help the genuine refugees.Pour out Your Spirit upon them dear Jesus, whoever and wherever they are.
Amen. Amen."
Thank you dear Jenny i say Amen on your prayer
it is such a very great problem it is terrible
but it is now restless in HOLLAND poor people
Ria
Good morning/afternoon fellow cp's.
Troy will be gone all day till about 10:00pm. He is going to support his team while swimming.
I hope the Camels win the state championship!

Amen a thousand times. :)
Karma, you know some about singing. Do you think it is to early to start Chandraya in singing lessons? If you heard her around the house you would be surprised at what comes out of her month. Thanks!
Ria, that is great that you got the book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Hello
Jenny! Great words you speak today. I wish I had the gift to write, but that is not my gift. :D I will have to settle with what I got.
Hope your day is going well. We are supposed to have a winter storm blow through and dump some snow on us. I hope it will pass to the side of us. :)
I am going to find myself something to eat.

Well, Goodmorning to you all...
I woke this morning with Terena at the door delivering me my Avon books for the next campaign that Rebecca stamps for me! I was so tired after yesterday being on the road most of the day.
Then yesterday when I came home from London, I found all my Avon outside and what an error they made. I had backordered 4 sets of mugs that have a blue mug and a yellow mug in the box. So I wanted a total of 8 mugs. I got 4 cartons of mugs. There are 48 in a carton!!!! :o :o :o :o And I have 4 cartons!
Anyone want a blue and yellow mug???
Sonja, I was 6 when I started singing lessons and they weren't serious lessons but just to get me used to lesson plans and singing in public. My aunt who was in the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir was my teacher all through my life. She was a wonderful teacher too. My lessons didn't become really serious until I was about 10 years old and even some people think that is young. I don't think that there are many teachers that would take on a child as young as Chandraya but she should get lots and lots of encouragement.
What sort of stuff did you sing when you were 6, Pat?
Cute little songs. A Frog He Would a Woo-ing Go! I'll never forget that one. They were all little short ones. What she tried to get me to learn first we pronunciation of words.
I've told this before but I'll tell it again. My aunt taught Ruthie too. She was a hard task master and even when I came in 1st or 2nd or whatever in a music festival and after the adjudicator gave his comments saying that I had done a pretty good job, my aunt would take me aside and tell me, "Patricia, you did well but... if you had pronounced this word more clearly...... you would have received a higher mark!" or comments like that. She did this EVERY TIME after a competition. All through the years, there was that "BUT" and I really learned much from those "BUT's". Every time except for one time....
When Jack proposed to me, he asked me to come to his wedding. So I went through all of the various positions like "I'll be a bridesmaid" or "I'll play the organ" or "I'll sing". HAHAHA! He never let me forget that I said "I'll sing". So I sang "Take My Life and Let it Be" to the tune of Consecration. Anyway, in the receiving line I could see my little spinster aunt coming along and I got ready for the BUT and I'll never forget her short but sweet comment... "Patricia, if I had been standing up there, I would have had butterflies flying out of my mouth instead of beautiful words and notes as I heard coming from your mouth!"
No "BUT"!!! She was a wonderful teacher really.
Awww...what a sweet story, Pat. Thanks for sharing that with me. I would love to hear you sing.
You wouldn't believe what the choir teacher is teaching the kids her age today. They are learning sign language and singing at the same time. They do a great job with it to.
I also asked her if we pay for some of the music for choir and she said "yes". Boy, was I surprised to hear that.
Illegal immigration is a HUGE problem in this country. We have literally MILLIONS of illegal aliens living here, and many are from the countries that sponsor/sanction terrorism. So I wish our government would do more about it.
I do feel for those who are refugees fleeing from terrible situations in their countries, but not those who come here to try to destroy my country. I want ALL of those deported. If that sounds harsh, so be it. (I don't mean I want the ones who are only seeking safety deported, just the evil doers.)
That is one real blessing of CP---how else would we learn about this kind of problem and how the Dutch people feel about it? Thank you, Ria, for sharing that. And I love your little poems each day. I have enjoyed poetry all my life.
Soni, I wish I could hear that little doll singing! That is such a sweet age.
Pat, I will take a blue and a yellow mug. :) Goodness! They will take those back, won't they? (I hope!)
Beth is coming over for me to help her with more paperwork re her disability claim. I'd better get busy here. Be back later.
Oh! I wanted to tell Fast Eddie and Boots how much I enjoy your posts. And please forgive me for not saying so sooner. :)
QuoteIllegal immigration is a HUGE problem in this country. We have literally MILLIONS of illegal aliens living here, and many are from the countries that sponsor/sanction terrorism. So I wish our government would do more about it.
Janet, when Troy was in school in 7th grade he had taken a history class and one of there things to do was figure out how to make this country better. One of the issues he come up with was the illegal aliens here in the US.
He was hammered by the teacher and the students.
I agree we should do something about it.
Illegal Immigrants: This is a big problem here in Canada too and costing so much to the people of Canada to support them. Of course there are some real reasons why some of them should stay but these are few and far between I'm afraid. I pray that the officials will be able to sort the "sheep from the goats".
Sonja, here's how Jack proposed to me... Love Story (http://members.rogers.com/avonpats/memorial/EndearingCharms.html)
T-Bone, I'm yelling for your team! Do you hear me here in Ontario???
Hi Janet! Yep! What a mess of mugs here! Yes, I'm phoning my manager about this and she'll have to look after them. They are far too heavy for me to send back too. It would cost a lot as they are very heavy!
Good Morning:
Thank you Pat for the devotion and for sharing that story about your singing teacher and singing at you own wedding.
I agree about the illegal aliens in this country. We have so many jobless people that could have the jobs that the illegals are taking. The homeless situation is atrocious.
My schedule for today is , Go to chiroprator, go to work, got to bank, got to longs and then back at home. Try not to get too wet in the rain.

(Ria, valt de sneeuw hier in Engeland, maar het heeft vlug gesmolten als het valt. Ik weet dat ik goeder zou moeten weten, maar ik dacht nooit het die in Holland gesneeuwd wordt.)
Translated "Ria, the snow is falling here in England, but it has been melting quickly as it falls where we live. I know I should know better, but I never thought it snowed in Holland."
I went out this morning for a walk in the woods where I normally have a precious time of praise and worship and all the puddles and ponds are now iced up. The snow flurries died away quickly and other than cold toes I really had a great time this morning.
Another beautiful story, Pat! I love that he sang to you. Not many men would do that. At least mine wouldn't. Thanks for sharing that.
Hi Gareth!
How lovely to see you posting my friend and bro!
We need to see some of your lovely photos on this site. If you have trouble due to size, etc. will you send some to me? I especially love that one you put on Photo-World of "Low Tide"

I need to get going with my day.
I will talk with you all later.
Pat~I hope you get that mug thing figured out.
hehehehe..

Another smile for you today!
OUR CHURCH was looking for a new minister, and the selection committee finally recommended a young man just out of the seminary. Many older church members protested that a more experienced man would have been preferable. Committee members retaliated with the argument that a younger minister might breathe fresh life into the congregation.
At the end of the meeting, I commented to an older man that this marked the beginning of better things for our church. "Yes," he said with a wry smile. "Moving on to greener pastors."

What uplifting posts...about singing and proposals. Thank you.
I agree with the illegal aliens in our country. Being from the midwest, we didn't see much of this until the last 5 years. It hit home when I read somewhere how many languages we have to print our tax forms in. I still say, if you live here, learn OUR language. We shouldn't have to compensate for you to live here. If I went to Rome...well, you know what I mean!!! We have so many Mexicans living here anymore. The men do construction work...the women stay home/get work, get pregnant and when going with Jerry to get Medicaid, they are on welfare also. Why is it when people speak another language, they tend to speak louder than anyone else in the building? Just a thought!!
Speaking of speaking and this goes along with the devotion...the TV media and the newspaper had confilicting stories of the double murder. The woman was in a storage bedroom. the young daughter in a childs bedroom...both found with their throats slit. The other daughter...not son...wasn't picked up from school. A friend was called and then went to the house. She found the woman first and called 911...we heard the 911 recording on TV. She then found the little daughter and screamed bloody murder. The father was in Florida and is probably back here by now. The woman's family lives near here. So many ribbons and stuffed animals are put at the side of the road in memory of the two victims. Also the neighbors....the victims lived in a duplex and there are about 7 duplexes in a row on this county road...have told about a man that was asking for work. They are trying to locate that man. That is about all I know right now about this murder. So sad.
Lapel has the population of around 1,800. It is only 2 miles from me. This murder was another mile on the other side of Lapel out in the country. My address is Noblesville but I live closer to Lapel.
Today is bright and sunny! I do need to clean house....dust and run the sweeper. Wish I could open up the windows but it is too early in the season for that.<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

Hi all....just getting ready to get ready for work. I don't know how effective I am going to be today at work, I have no voice. My voice has been playing games with me for the last 2 days. the day before yesterday, I was sent home, because the customers could not hear me on the phone. Yesterday, I went in, because I could be heard at the beginning of the shift, my voice a little scratchy, but it was there. Today, I woke up to whispers....so I am pretty sure there is no way that I will be able to work today. If I hadn't just started this job, I would call in and let them know what is going on, but I have just started, so I will go in, and let them send me home. Before I leave to come home, I will ask my supervisor if there is anything else I can do, so I don't lose the pay. She is going to tell me no, I am pretty sure of that, but I will ask anyway. She may surprise me.
Aunt Pat, I will take a couple of those mugs....lol I can just picture your surprise when you arrived home yesterday to 4 cartons of mugs on your doorstep.
I am going to go, for now, but I will likely be back a little later tonight.
Love to all
Heather

Pat, I have no idea how to upload a photo on this site... send me your email address and I will attach a photo.
Ria, I do live in England, near London. The only place in Holland I have visited is Schloss. I bought Gouda Cheese, a Melktert (Milk Tart), few Dutch newspapers and had a long chat with a very friendly lady who spoke in Dutch and I in Afrikaans.
The language I speak is actually Afrikaans which is probably closer to Flemish than Dutch. I can read Dutch but struggle to speak it without resorting to Afrikaans.
I am learning to speak Spanish at the moment so when I go to Spain (we own a house there) I can speak to other 51% of the population. I hardly ever have to speak it except when we go to the Supermarket.
I was told by my old Hebrew teacher that I needed to learn Hebrew because that is the language they speak in Heaven... She was joking of course. I still cannot understand it.
Sonifo, I had a look at the camera, it is really great, I am sure you will be happy.
U.K. 8.30 p.m.

Gareth, I've never put a link in for my Webshots and I'm not sure if that works. I'm looking at yours. Let me know, ok?
Good night, Ria!
Have a good sleep and we'll talk to you tomorrow.
Hi Jenny, I cannot complain about the experiences I have had. I have lived a full life and have coped with constant and rapid change in environment and circumstances. Without Jesus I am not sure how I could have coped, perhaps I could post my testimony sometime. I don't want to bore you all with talk about myself, even though I think I am very important ;D and could easily get my tongue wagging for a few months reminiscing on the past.
Ria, I am just managing to communicate in Spanish, it has not been easy to learn. We own a 2 Bedroomed home in Quesada near Torreveija which we let out to our friends and family for holidays. We do not get to stay there too often even though air fares are cheap, my people are elderly and they just seem to get sick and some even die every time we are about to go on our holidays. I am not sure I want to retire to Spain, I do love England.
Etta, what a sad story. I am not sure it is really the illegal aliens that is the problem, but rather the state of mankind and the sin people covet. We are only on earth for a while, we need to look at how we can learn to be gracious and a blessing to everyone, to be Gods representative in the world he created and placed us in. It is easy to blame someone who is different to us for the problems in the world, it is better for us to tell others the good news about the love Jesus has for them and what he did to release us from the power of sin.
Blessings to all
Gareth,
The Lord Bless you indeed. You said what is on my own heart. (Ps 24:1)
Yes please post your Testimony for us. Pat and Iain our very dear brother on the Isle of Lewis have sections for this. I would love to read more about your walk with Jesus.
Good night and God Bless you
and all who come in later.
Jenny.
Janet..........
There are pros and cons in having a (Young) pastor just out of seminary. The pros would be his fresh approach to the Word, and he would (Or should) be showing his "First love." He no doubt will be working very hard to present the Word. However, he will most likely be lacking two very important requirements needed in a pastor. 1, he may not be seasoned in life, and it will be very hard for older members to go to him with any one of myriad problems in their lives. 2, He won't be sufficiently experienced to understand compassion. But! If he has, and understands love, God will help him with the rest. Since you now have him, everyone must come along side and give him lots of support and encouragement.
I have posted an update onm my friends nephew in prayers.
We haven't sung this since the beginning of Jan. So. let's sing it tonight...

Words and Music by Mosie Lister
Mark 4:39
"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."
In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face,
While the storm howl above me, and there's no hiding place.
'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
Chorus
Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
Many times Satan whispered, "There is no need to try,
For there's no end of sorrow, there's no hope by and by"
But I know Thou art with me, and tomorrow I'll rise
Where the storms never darken the skies.
Chorus
Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
When the long night has ended and the storms come no more,
Let me stand in Thy presence on the bright peaceful shore;
In that land where the tempest, never comes, Lord, may I
Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by.
Chorus
Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

;D ;D Lee, if you go back you will notice that was a cute story out of Reader's Digest (again.) I thought the "greener pastors" was cute..........I think some must have read it as "greener pastures."
I have sat under young, middle aged and elderly pastors, and yes, they do need compassion!
I am going to go read for a while. Good night! ;D
Voice lessons? HA! When I was 8 my mother hired a voice teacher for me. After two lessons she told my mother not to waste her money. :-\
I worked all day today and as I told Gene, it was an ideal day. Enough work to keep me busy all day, right up to 5:00, but not so much that I ever felt rushed. Can't ask for better than that, can you?
POOOOOOOOOOr Jeane Lea!!!!
HAHAHAHAHA
That is so funny

Just stopping by to say Good Evening to y-all. I sent some of you a great link to the photos that the Hubble taelescope took, with great music to go with it. I hope everyone I sent it to enjoys it. Some one had posted the link on SN. For those I didn't send it to here it is

HAHAHAHAHA Pat you have a job with mugs... John just said to sell them as a fund raiser for CP! ! ! !
Got to go back to read the rest of the posts, I am just home Groceries put away and the kids in bed.
I am still laughing over the mugs!
I'm not! ::) :o
Pat you reminded me of the last visit I had with Aunt Rose and Aunt Marg. Aunt Rose wanted to sing some of the old time hymns. We did. At the finish Aunt Marg said "Methinks the girl sings flat!" That was the last time I sang openly, in any venue.
We have had a full day.I am feeling sorry for John. He has been up since 5:00 am and with cadets and all that goes with cadets he has been going all evening too. Tomorrow is Praise team, and Melaura is singing, so an early AM to boot. He has to slow down, I just don't know how, life with three girls one of which is a teenager, is busy. So often we have said no to helping others because of busy schedule, It seems out aging bodies don't recover as quickly as they used to. and it appears the younger generation don't understand that concept.
Well I am off to bed. I have an early AM. so night all
Judy
Well we just drove into the Hotel here in Memphis and we are in our room ready for a good night's rest.
I am not taking time tonight to read the posts but dropped in to say we got here safely. We stopped in Jackson, Tennessee, for dinner and I had a great Prime Rib, with salad and baked potato.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow when we meet for prayer and Bible study. Our minister, Chris, will present the main lessons which will have to do with Christian couples and their living for Christ together.
I'll come in tomorrow. I hope all of you have a good night's rest.

Aging bodies!!! :o ??? ::) Just what are you talking about, Judy B? :-\ :P
I'd think you have a looooong way to go before that expression would fit you. ;)

Good evening all.
JudyB~that is the circle of life for ya. ;D babies to tots, 5 year old smarty pants to 12 year love bugs, know it all teenagers to 19 year olds thinking they are adults, 20 year olds thinking they can change the world to 30 year olds who realize we can't. Life is fun. Some kids don't get to enjoy the love of a family and the chance to express themselves. Some don't even know God till they are older.
Kids are a blessing!
Hi Pat! Did you get it all sorted out? If I was there I would help with the Avon orders. I love doing that stuff. The whole family could help. We could get it done in an hour. :D ((hug))
Hi Melaura!!!
Night Zachery! Yup, 3 more days after tonight.
I bet you are just as excited as me.
Hahahhaa...Jeanne Lee. You are so funny.
Karmat~where are you??? Did you see my question?
I better head to bed. Night all!
P.S. Nards and Karma, I am prayer for you and your family. ((hug))
hello everyone, just breezing through for a quick minute before I go to bed (It was a looooooonnnnggg day today).
soni -- congrats on your new camera!! I hope you like it. singing lessons -- i don't think it is too young, but i would make sure that the teacher has a lot of fun in her lessons. otherwise, it will get to be a chore, and could possibly turn her off of singing for a long time.
sorry to not stay longer, but i am whupped (thus no capitals letters, i'm too tired to hit shift! ;D)
Hi Jane! Glad to see you popping in. :D
Thank you, Marilyn. My hubby will like that site.
Hi Papa John. Glad you made it safely. mmm...prime rib with salad and potatoes. Now that is a real meal. Have a fun day tomorrow.
Hi Sarah, 1/2 day. What fun. What did you do when you got out?
well i tried to get online but my net was messed up from our new cable line. so instead i worked on homework and listened to music off of our DTV music stations.
Locking the door. Gotta get back to my Avon order.

My MSN has been acting up terribly tonight. No sound and most of the time, it just freezes up. Is this happening to anyone else or is it just mine?
Night Everyone!
