Title: New Every Morning~February 28

Morning Devotional...

Who by Him [Jesus] do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead.
1 Peter 1:21

Some profess to have difficulty in believing God. What proof is there of a personal, loving God in this modern, scientific age?

Peter would say to such doubters:

Read, study, believe the eye witness accounts and you too will believe the living God.
--D. Norbie

There's a story ever new;
it is wonderful and true,
And the best thing you can do
is believe it.
--J. Ferguson

This is kinda cheatin', but since today's topic is locked up.  I'll post for tomorrow's, even though tomorrow is 7 minutes away.

Always wanted to be # 1 in something.  Well, that's not entirely true, Pat is always  # 1 here, in more ways than one.

And I do appreciate your devotional's each day....A good way to start the day.

Have you noticed the time elapsed between when I started and finally finished?  Typo's all over the place.

Ed, that's so nice of you.  I'm glad you posted in "tomorrow's" on "today" and "first!"

Time lapse Eddie., was only 4 minutes.  "You done good"..LOL

I'm just dropping in for a minute or two...just checking up on you guys.

Its past my bedtime., and I'm praying that I will be able to sleep tonight.  Today was a very frustrating one for me.  I got literally "stalled" in a car wash for over 2 hours.

I was in line...and the car ahead (a Jaguar) broke down., and had to be towed out.  It wasn't all that simple though. They eventuallyhad to call in a mechanic whose specialty if Jaguars., and he even had a difficult time unlocking the car's auto. transmission system.  Its a long story...and too involved to put fown here so that you can understand it. (I hardly understand it myself...and I was there...lol).

Hopefully, I'll be back here much later on today!!

Love to all.....Judy Mc. :D

Judy M...........

Were you in a convertible? :)

Just shop talk..........

Last week Vivian and I went to a ladies funeral and her 84 year old husband was there.  Three days later he died of a stroke.  Today we went to his funeral and the same pastor conducted the services.  I was afraid he was going to say "Welcome back everyone."

10.15 a.m. U.K.

Goodmorning from England.

Thanks Pat.  I am one of those "who by Him" etc.,  Praise God!

Fast Eddie.  Well you didi it.  First! Congratulations!

Oh Judy, how dreadful for you.  That is one of my nightmares.  Just the thought of being stuck in a car in a car wash.  :o I get claustrophobic in cars as I do not drive one.  You poor lady. That can't have helped your arthritic condition or nervous system at all.  How are you today? .....Thinking of you!

Lee It is so good for us Christians to be able to look death in the face and smile.  :D

Ria Hallo.  It's not snowing here today but it was very cold last night and icy this morning.  The sun is shining.I hope your toe is much improved now dear sister.  ;)

Have a wonderful weekend folks.
Love,
Jenny.

G'mornin' all y'all.  It's a very unusual morning here - not raining!  For the last several days there's been lots and lots of it, though it hasn't been especially cold.  Makes the redwood trees grow.  Shopping down in Eureka today.  We go to a place called Winco Foods, which is a discount grocery.  It has excellent prices, but it's about 16 or 17 miles from here, so we do the week's worth at one time.
God bless everyone's day!

Thanks Karmat for answering my question.  ;D
Are you going to submit to any challenges on dpc?
I'm not.

Pat, did you get your mug situation worked out?
hehehee...ahem.. :-X

JudyMc.  I am so sorry to hear that.  I would have been upset too.  No one should have to be put through that.  Why couldn't everyone just back out?
Hope your day goes better today.  It also makes me think about putting a bible in the vehicle so when something like that happens to me I will have something to read.

Larry~How is your trip going?  Enjoying that warm Florida weather.  ;D

~Not snow!  This feels like the longest winter ever for us.  We got to go sledding 1 time this winter.  Either it was to cold to go outside or it was nice but no snow.  Chandraya is not a happy camper.  She loves sledding (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sonifopictures.com%2Fgraphics%2F3sledding.gif&hash=991b0a6873bd011f307b426ab68bc7a24b4c7b53) and so does the rest of us.

Good morning from windy Kansas!  Yesterday the temp got up to 73*, just a glorious day!  Then we got some wind, but today is even windier.  Oh, well.........that's Kansas!

Darrel isn't feeling at all well today.  He said he was awake from 1:00 on, and his stomach is upset.  I hope he feels better soon.

Ria, when we lived in town, someone was always putting out poison and killing dogs.  We tried to keep ours in their pen at all times, but sometimes they would dig out.  We never had any get into the poison and die, thankfully.  I do not understand why people do such things.  They have a serious problem!

Papa John!!!  Thanks for checking in with us, and have a wonderful time at the couples' retreat.  We love you and Cornelia.

Thanks for the link, Marilyn.  The only problem I had was it scrolled by so fast I couldn't read all the words.  Will have to take another look at it.

Hi, Soni!  Boy, we are looking forward to seeing lots of photos from that fancy new camera!!

Hey, Zachery---are you already picking out things to photograph with yours and Troy's camera? ;D ;D ;D  How fun!

Pat, I had trouble with email yesterday, and everything was very slow.  I wasn't using MSN much, so didn't notice anything there.

I think I will work on Mark's memory album some today.  I must NOT let it go until the last minute, or it will not be finished in time for graduation next spring. (Not this spring.)  He is working hard finishing up the requirements for his Eagle Scout award.  Of course, we are so proud of him!

Tomorrow we will be going to see The Passion of the Christ, and looking forward to it, and dreading it at the same time.  Is today when you are going, Etta Sue?

Jane, I do understand that it is not always possible to express our feelings in mere words. :-\

Time to find some food!

Good Morning. I am off today and have things to do  here, then I have to go back to the grocery store because I forgot to give them my store coupons  yesterday, I had them with me just forgot.  There is a brach of my bank right there in the store which makes it very convenient.

Janet I also found that the pictures go by too fast and have to go take another look. I thought that site was just sooooo AWESOME. I would also be great for home schooled kids to see.

Jenny dear how are you doing? I need to get an email off to you later today.

Karma  hope you are rested today by the time you come in here to post. My prayers have been with Bernards family.

Janet and Marilyn ... You can pause the scrolling on that site.  There's a "button" for that in the lower right.   :P :D   I know ... it took me a while to figure that out myself!  :-\

Hope all y'all have a really awesome day.  I am thinking about washing curtains today, and taking the drapes to the cleaners ... These wood stoves really play havoc with soot and smoke on everything!!

Then ... I will probably read and/or watch a video the rest of the day.  OR, I might take a drive out to the ocean for a while ... Y'know, I can't get too ambitious all in one day.   ::)

I am off to buy some framing stuff.

I was asked to put my a few of my pictures in a silent auction for the "Chuckles for Charity". I am excited.

I got 3 that I might choose, I just need to get them put in the frames and a card which will give a discription about the photo.  Good way to get my name out anyway.
There will be a lot of lawyers and doctors there.
This is also the charity event Troy and Zachery will be in.  All the money they make will go to the church youth group. March 5 is when this takes place.

Talk with you all later.

5.25 p.m. u.k.

Wow...Jane...ambitious!!!

Well, guess who'se been very ambitious today?.....Me!

This afternoon Chris was going up to the precinct to do some  banking for me. Since we do not drive he uses the bus.  However, spurred on by Judy Mc.  I decided to have a taxi ride up the hill and he came with me.  I left him at the shopping centre and the driver drove me home.,  Now this doesn't seem much to you "drivers" but for me having been shut indoors for most of the Winter it was a "big" event. I had to overcome a panic attack to do it, I just kept thinking of Judy Mc..It's doubly hard to go in a car with a strange driver when you are a mobility scooter person. God was so good, He provided a lovely young Asian driver who gave me his number and will collect me again. I phoned the lady at the taxi office to say how kind he was and she is going to tell his boss....Jesus said "do unto others as you would have them do to you" and I think it is good to give credit where credit is due....do you folks agree?

Judy Mc. I love you.  God Bless dear. See how He uses you..."part of the body" for little me over the ocean.

Marilyn.  It will be so nice to get an e mail from you!

Ria 'Hallo' dear.  I am going to have something  to eat now and will write later...O.K? I am going to watch a video too.  Audrey Hepburn and Wm. Holden in "Paris When it Sizzles".  I had a set of her films from Helen for Christmas.  I am a great admirer of Audrey Hepburn. I will be sewing some of my little mouse toy together also. Hope you enjoy the videos you are seeing today also.

Soni Enjoy the "rest"...How's the Potty Boot Training camp????

Papa John and Zach ...Hello for later.

Love to everyone.
Jenny.

Yes, the part about the husband dying three days later is true.  The pastor did not say "Welcome back."  I was just musing at the funeral hoping he wouldn't.

Lee, that is probably the way that couple would have wanted to go----together, or nearly so.  Knowing folks are Christians takes most of the sting out of death.

I have been trying to get started on Mark's book again, then remembered I promised to bring dessert for lunch tomorrow, had to go to the store, then eat lunch, now here I am again.........think the book will put itself together??

I wish I could drive a short distance and see the ocean............don't you, Pat?  :-\  Marilyn and Jane, you are so blessed, to get to live near the ocean. :D

Darrel is still sick, running a fever and having chills.  I don't know what it is, but sure hope he is well by morning or he will miss seeing the Passion.

Ria and Jenny, enjoy your movies!  Darrel is watching one now on TV.  I wish I could watch/listen to them in my studio, but my VCR I had in there quit working.

Beth got such a blessing today!!  Her former boss, Lori, saw her at the Post Office and they visited a while, then Lori told Beth she would come out and visit her later.  She did, and brought along five big bags of groceries for Beth!  Lori's husband is a hunter, so she brought a lot of meat, which is the biggest expense of a grocery bill, as you know.  I told Beth that when she gets back on her feet, to remember those who are blessing her, and to pass along a blessing to someone else in need.

I just discovered I have sore muscles!  I have been trying to improve my form while swimming (I never really learned to swim properly) and sure enough, I am using muscles I didn't use before.  That's good!

I still plan to take a drive out to the ocean in a little while.  Gotta do these things when the time is right ... it just so happens it isn't raining today.  The wind isn't blowing either .... Away I go >>>>>>

The video I'm hoping to watch later today is one I borrowed when unpacking Bev's books and tapes, etc. for our church lending library: "The Reality of the Person of the Holy Spirit" a sermon by Rodney Howard-Browne.  I'm really looking forward to it.  :)

Hey JANET... I always have fun!  ;D  But .... Nita is the one with the camera around here.

February 28

The Holy Spirit: A Bottle in the Ocean

...To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be
filled with all the fullness of God.
--Ephesians 3:19

Pentecost means that the Deity came to mankind to give Himself to
man, that man might breathe Him in as he breathes in the air, that He
might fill men. Dr. A. B. Simpson used an illustration which was about
as good as any I ever heard. He said, "Being filled with the fullness
of God is like a bottle in the ocean. You take the cork out of the
bottle and sink it in the ocean, and you have the bottle completely
full of ocean. The bottle is in the ocean, and the ocean is in the
bottle. The ocean contains the bottle, but the bottle contains only
a little bit of the ocean. So it is with the Christian."

We are filled unto the fullness of God, but, of course, we cannot
contain all of God because God contains us; but we can have all of
God that we can contain. If we only knew it, we could enlarge our
vessel. The vessel gets bigger as we go on with God.  The Counselor,
68.

"Enlarge my vessel, Lord, and fill me with more and more of the
fullness of God. Amen."

Zachery and I just got back from the theatre.  We seen "The Passion of Christ" movie.  I don't have words to express how I feel.  I am just very sad.
If someone goes in there and doesn't feel a thing then that person has a cold heart.

I can't wait for everyone to see the movie so we can discuss it.  There is so much a want to ask?

How many have seen the  movie, "The Passion of Christ"?

Mike and Troy are going to see it at 6:00 tonight.  Troy is going to bring some of his swimming friends.  I pray that they go in with an open heart and mind. I told Mike to take Troy aside and pray with him before they watch it.  I did and it helps.

I'll be back later.

Hello, all!  We're back from the funeral and Travis is taking a nap.  We may run out again later, but I just wanted to say Hi.

Hope all of you had a great day.  Mine has been hard, but the funeral was a tremendous encouragement to me.

Bye for now...

Well we went over to the almost new theatre here in town to see the Passion, but we never got in.  Whenever we've gone to a movie in Eureka I've always used my debit card, but we discovered, after going through the long line, that they don't take that here!  So we're going to have to go in a few days, after I can get some cash.
Marilyn - we've been up to that vista point many times.  In fact I took a couple of pix up there and Pat posted them for me many months ago.  If you go on up the highway just a very few miles from there you come to the Westhaven exit.  Take that, turn left from the exit ramp, then left again at the "T", then right at the sign down to Moonstone Beach.  It's nice.
The rest of you can do it too.  You just have to drive to our part of California first.

Al I have been to Monstone beach several times. I have to give you credit though you always give great DIRECTIONS. You know what I mean. A private joke. Al loves giving directions.

Good Evening;
It has been a couple of days since I last checked in, as we were without the computer.   We now have a new one which is much faster and also has the windows XP,  along with that we purchased a new keyboard and mouse.  As my knowledge is very limited with connecting to the net I called our server and they talked me through on the phone, no problems

It has been a warm and sunny day around here so naturally we lost some snow and ice.  My brother-in-law lives approx. a 2hr drive north of Judy B and he was saying that they to lost some snow due to the warm weather.   But hold on winter is not over yet.

I'm here, friends. Such a beautiful day today - I took a disabled friend to lunch. We met other friends at a very good German restaurant, then spent the afternoon together. I drove slowly on local roads and she was exclaiming about what had happened during the 2 years+ that she's been housebound.

What a delight to be able to take her out for her first big excursion!!! And, the weather was wonderful.

I have not yet seen the movie, but certainly want to do so.

Author:  Charlotte Elliott, 1789-1871
Musician:  William B. Bradbury, 1816-1868

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

HYMN HISTORY:
It must be true to say that no sacred song or hymn has been more used to bring sinners to the feet of Jesus, than this one.

Sung by grand choirs in vast crusades as hundreds have come or by congregations, large and small, as one's and two's have come; this hymn has moved the hearts of multitudes.

"Just As I Am," rings with a clear, positive note. It invites the sinner, just as he is, with all his sin, in all his unworthiness, despite his fears, though poor, wretched and blind, to come to the Saviour.

That's an invitation which is absolutely scriptural! We don't need to wait until our lives have been straightened out before we come to Christ. There's nothing we can do which will ever make us more acceptable in God's sight. The Bible clearly teaches that God loves the sinner, just the way he is, and wants him to come like that.

Only Jesus Christ can deliver us from the guilt and penalty of sin. Only He can solve all the problems of life. Only He can give us peace and joy and hope for the future. It was out of her feelings of frustration and hopelessness that the daughter of an Anglican minister in Brighton, England, wrote the words of this fine hymn.

One day in 1833, when Charlotte Elliott was in her forty-fourth year, she was feeling unusually depressed and alone. The other members of her family had gone off to a church function while she, an invalid and bedridden, remained at home.

Before her illness she had lived a happy, carefree life enjoying its many pleasures and gaining a measure of popularity, as a portrait artist.

Now, all of this past and stricken with the sickness which was to plague her for the rest of her life, she felt utterly useless and cut off. In addition, although she had been a Christian for many years, she began to have doubts about her relationship with the Lord. How could she be sure that all was well with her soul?

In her distress she began to list scriptural reasons for believing that she was, indeed, a child of God. She recognised the power of the Saviour's precious blood. She remembered His promise to receive all who come to Him by faith; and His ability to pardon, cleanse and save.

As she meditated on these great truths her heart was warmed and very soon Charlotte Elliott, who was also fond of writing poetry, was putting down her thoughts in verse:

Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

It's just here that we encounter a new slant to the story.

Charlotte Elliott's brother was anxious to start a school to benefit the children of poor clergymen, and had organised a bazaar to raise funds.

It seemed that everybody in the town had helped with the project. Everybody, that is, except Charlotte, who was so stricken with paralysis that she could barely drag herself around her room.

So she published her new poem "Just As I Am," in the hope that from its sale she could contribute something to her brother's school fund.

The poem was instantly successful and was soon selling all over England in large numbers as well as being translated into a number of foreign languages.

Charlotte Elliott never did enjoy good heath for the rest of her life. She remained bedridden until the Lord, at last, called her home when she was eighty-two years old.

However, before her death she received more than a thousand letters of thanks and compliments from people who were grateful that she had written "Just As I Am."

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Well we had a very pleasant surprise tonight.  My #2 son in Phoenix, Arizona called.  Not for any reason, except that he now has a cell phone with unlimited long distance minutes.   ;D  So we used a lot of minutes.  So many in fact, that his battery began to run down.  (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fusers.adelphia.net%2F%7Epairajeans%2FLOL2.gif&hash=40848d301f35e0cc833dc571889e418b6d4a93b2)

You could almost think spring was on the way today (we know better, though) because the temperature actually hit 48 degrees.  Beautiful!!!!

Hi Folks. Lets try this again. I was writing up a post this morning and it disappeared into space. Well I got back from my trip last night. It was a slow start on Monday morning as my truck had a problem with one injector failure and also was in bad need of a top end set. A top end set is to a diesel what a major tune up is to a gas engine. Well after being in the shop for 4 hours we gat off to a late start on the trip to Maine via New Brunswick. However with the truck running as it should we were able to make up time and still delivered on time Tuesday as well as getting reloaded and on the way home Tuesday afternoon. The weather and the scenery was beautiful this time. Managed to get a whole trip in without encountering any snow. When I got back I got another short trip into Toronto and back to top off the week. It is a real pleasure to run the roads when the truck is working the way it should.
The scenery in Maine is absolutely wonderful. Driving through that part of the country makes one realize just what a beautiful world the Lord created for us to live in. It is to bad that so many take this for granted and not have more appreciation for the Creator. That is one of the plus factors of my job. I get around and see this beautiful continent and meet some of the different  and beautiful people that live on it.
I spent some time this mornig catching up on some of the postings of the past week some look interesting and will be going back to read some of them again with a bit more attention. Heather the one you posted from Paul Harvey I am going to read more closely and may or amy not make some comment on it afterwards. Keep reading to see if I make some comment.
Spent some time in town today and took Mother out for a while. She seemed to enjoy this and was feeling somewhat better when she got back home. It is good for our seniors to get out and enjoy the outdoors. It tends to perc them up. She is settling into her new surroundings quite nicely. She is commenting on how quiet it is up here in the North. No sirens and traffic noise to listen to. The silence kept her awake the first couple of nights.
I can attest to that here on the farm. When I sit on our deck in the summer all I hear is the chirping of the birds and the squirrels and the stars at night are just awesome. A couple of years ago we also had one of the most awesome northern lights display's that I have ever seen. It was a multitude of colours.
Well I guess I have used up enough time for now, so I will sign of for now. Its off to church in the morning and then off to Virginia in the afternoon.
God Bless. Bonesy.

I SAW 'THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST' THIS MORNING.

(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fettasue.homestead.com%2Ffiles%2FAnimations%2FCrucifixion.gif&hash=2aff7739336a4db38f29c8204eb7bced32f55cc0)

It is a movie that one doesn't like.  It is a movie that one doesn't love.  But the experience is awesome.  I will never take communion in my old manner again...and I thought I was thinking right when I took communion.  I was surprised that I didn't shut my eyes.  I was surprised that I didn't cry a lot.  I kept thinking that He went through all of this for me...a sinner.  My best description of the movie would be....Mel Gibson gave everyone a visual to 'see' the crucifixion and resurrection that you read about in the Four Gospels.  Too much violence?  I don't think so.  Crucifixion was a normal thing in those days for law breakers.  Crucifixion is a slow death...usually takes 3-4 days.  But Jesus died on the cross for us in a few hours.  So it wasn't only the crucifixion that caused Jesus to die, it was the torture before hand, as well.  On a lighter note...Jim Ceviezal makes a wonderful Jesus.

The people watching were silent.  No one said anything during the movie.  When the movie was over, no one said anything.  We walked out of the screening room, no one said anything.  Out in the lobby, no one said anything.  Even outside...everyone was quiet.  It was an experience I will remember forever.

I understand the sermon tomorrow will be about this movie and communion.  I can't wait!!!!

Zachery, Bernard's grandfather turned 94 three weeks ago.

The funeral was amazing.  I have been to sad funerals, I have been to sweet funerals, I have been to normal funerals.  But, like Nards said, this funeral was truly encouraging.  I had only known Papaw 10 years, but he was a beautiful man.  He was one who could truly look beyond what a person was wearing, how he looked, what his lifestyle was and love him.  It's difficult to explain to some people how God can love a person and hate a sin or sinful life that person is living.  Only when you meet someone like Papaw was can you begin to understand.  I can honestly say it was one of maybe two or three funerals where you could feel the presence of Christ in a real way.

I might enter the fire challenge, soni, and I have an idea for "silence" if I can pull it off.

I would stay and chat, but I am about fall asleep sitting here!  Maybe tomorrow . . . .

I am heading to bed.  It has been an emotional day for me.

I can't wait for church tomorrow.  A few years ago I would have to drag myself out of bed to go to church but now I jump out of bed and they have to drag me out of church.  ;D

We will be singing in the choir tomorrow morning and nite.  Chandraya will be singing her solo.  Can't wait.

Talk with you all later.
