Morning Devotional...

For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens, God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it. Isaiah 45:18
Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Isaiah 45:22

In verse 18, the Lord is described as the Creator of heaven and earth, evidencing His majesty, power and wisdom.

In verse 22, He is shown as the Saviour, "Look unto Me and be ye saved," evidencing His grace, love and compassion. He alone is both all-powerful and all-loving. He gives an invitation that carries a promise, and what a promise!

But is there not a warning, too? "There is none else."

There is no other way, there is no other Saviour.
--Reg Jordan

No other song have I to sing but Jesus;
no other theme but Christ and Calvary.
In every glad refrain I would be telling
the wonders of His mighty love for me.

I finally remembered my thought of the day that I kept forgetting on Wednesday.

"Easter Continues"

The more you think about it, the more oomph it has, I think.

PAT thank you for the nice devotional this morning it is always nice to read in the morning

JANET that was a great story from Bill Bright
and you are welcome in HOLLAND maybe you can come with
American soldiers which are come one of the coming days in Holland they are going to the South of Holland And the Canadian to middle and North. But i think not that there are come a lot soldiers more who has fight in Holland when they come then they are very old but there are also come young soldiers. The Canadian are most coming from Kelowna and area I don't no where that is in Canada. Not in Ontario.

ETTA SUE when i was a child then i must and shall have wooden shoes and i have get wooden shoes but i never more that is very painly to walk on. I was always taken
the wooden shoes under my arms and then on my socks run to home and then my mother put on your normal shoes i have not money to buy every week new socks for you.

But in the summer then there are sometimes markets there we can see demonstration of old crafts i am not good in making photo's but when i it see then i shall make a photo.

Yesterday it was where we are coming very busy
but the weather was awesome.
But in the South in Holland they have had terrible weather
thunderstorm and it was storming and they have had hail but the hailstones are so great as balls they people use when they play golf. The ravages are great in the South Holland.

JANE the photo from you and Nita is awesome.

2 Chronicles 20 : 20
Have faith in the Lord your
God and you will be upheld.

                 FAITH'S  RAINBOW

                There is a rainbow in the soul
              for every storm that comes to us...
                         Faith is our assurance
                    that the sun will shine again.

Love and Prayerfully for you all

Good morning, friends,

Last evening was great. I had endured a REALLY stressful day at work and almost didn't go. Glad I did.

Each fifth Friday, one of the ladies in our loose-knit ladies "dinner club" has a potluck dinner. Since my friend has lost both legs to amputation, she doesn't get to come to the restaurants very often and has chosen to host the potluck dinners.

So, 7 of us went trooping into her charming condo and we had a lovely evening.

When I first got there my outside was sitting still in that loveseat, but my insides were rolling along at far higher than the "speed limit!"

When I left, after an evening of fellowship with fellow believers, I was relaxed and slept throughout the night.

It reminds me that some people don't choose to attend worship. For me, meeting and fellowshipping with believers and simply taking the time to let our Lord know I worship and adore Him is certainly good for the body and soul, too.

My brakes are in bad shape so I'm gathering estimates. It's time to leave to try to get another estimate.

Then, a lady who attended a class at the senior citizens center I taught on intro to computers has some questions and is fearful of asking her son who won't take the time to help her really understand how to do things. So, I'm going over there this afternoon.

So, and busy, productive and probably budget-depleting day is in store for me.

Well, y'all have a great day.

Ruth Ann

A new day and a new month!  Happy May Day!!

I will be going to watch Abby's dance recital this afternoon.  She wants me to come early and help her get ready. ;)  Of course, I planned to go early anyway, so I can spend some time with her. :D ;D

Sometimes I find it hard to retain a positive outlook, when I see/hear/read so much bad news of what is happening in our world today.  The thing that really grieves me is that so many people in this country are doing all in their power to destroy the very fabric and foundations of our country.  So many come here (or are born here) to enjoy the freedoms America offers; then set to work to destroy those very freedoms!  And it is in every area of life; from marriage to prayer to the judiciary, etc.

I just have to keep reminding myself that God is Sovereign!  He knows the end from the beginning, and I must continue to look to Him.  He has our future mapped out, and we just keep following where He leads and all will be well with our souls.  But of course we have to be concerned about the many who don't know Him.  Their future is sure, too, and we do not want to see any of our families or loved ones or friends share that future.

I guess I am thinking on these things even more this morning because last night I dreamed about our beloved pastor who died, and his wife.  It brought back many bittersweet memories.

I am far too long-winded this morning.  Sorry!

LOL Janet!

We are expecting friends this afternoon and they will stay a day or two at the most.  I wonder if they will want to attend the barbeque with the homeless that is scheduled today?  We want to go but just have to see what time friends arrive.

Yesterday, we attended two plays at grands school and they did well in their parts, speaking out very well.  Such good training that we never had in school and it helps everyone overcome shyness in public.  Then, out for a lovely treat of dinner with daughter and family.  We drove home and the snow had virtually stopped and this morning the sun is shining.

Hi everyone.  It is an overcast day here in Georgia.  Thought we were to have rain but so far very little beyond a mist has fallen.

It has been a quiet morning.  I don't go to walk on Saturday or Sunday so was able to sleep in this morning.  Then went to the cafe for coffee and stayed and extra 20 minutes as everyone seemed to be in a rather laid back mode.  Enjoyed it.

Came home and am working on burning a couple of CD's a friend wanted made from a tape he had.  I find the burning process takes all the resources of my desktop so am sitting here in front of the desktop and writing with my laptop rather than just sitting and watch the screen.

Nards and Sonja, when do you find time to write in your blog?  Maybe I am just slowing down as I get older but I seem to be busy all the time.  Think I would also have difficultya in knowing what to write in a blog.

Al, I should think a pastor has a  lot of things that would be discouraging.  Suppose the key is to stay focused on Jesus and know that things will happen in his time rather than ours.

That was a nice picture of you both, Jane and Nita.  Looks like you were having a great time.

Jeanne, that housecleaning sounds like a lot of work but it will be nice to have it done.  You don't work everyday at the city hall do you?

Marilyn, sure hope you headache is gone today and that you are feeling better.  Know you will be dreading having your son and his family move from next door but sure they will enjoy having a house and you will still be close to them.  Didn't you say you will have to move before too long as well?

Pat, a fine devotional message this morning.

Hi Rachelle and Karma.

Ria, can you tell us a bit as to why people in Holland wear wooden shoes?

Ruth Ann, sure glad to read about your enjoyable and relaxing evening.  You need more of those and it is nice that you can include the lady who has lost her legs in your group.  Sure that means a lot to her.  I know from experience just a couple of weeks ago that brake work is expensive, especially if the rotor have to be turned.

Janet, enjoy Abby's dance recital and will we be seeing picture?

Carol, glad you were able to share in the experiences with your grandchildren yesterday.  Enjoy your company today.

I am elated!  I got a call the other evening from the lady that her husband and her are going to do my landscaping.  I want the landscaping cloth, river rocks and edgers put around my house and stepping stones at both steps on my deck and at the back door to the garage.  They said that there backs aren't what they used to be and that I should buy the river rocks by the bag!!!!  What?  I would probably need at least 100 bags @ $1.69 each.  Said they didn't want a big pile of rocks that they would have to shovel and wheelbarrow to where they wanted them.

Then my son called last evening...here comes the best part!!!...he works for IMI...they have gravel pits, stone quarries, all over Indiana and surrounding states...and said he will ask if he can borrow a trailer to haul the river rocks to me.  (He borrowed it for his river rocks for his house.)  He got his free and if I don't need over 5 ton, that possibly mine would be free also!!!!!!!  (He got stone for my drive when it was Mom's and they didn't charge him for the stone.)  Hey, Jerry and I can shovel and take the rocks to where they will be needed for that price!!!  My son suggested to shovel the rocks into 5-gallon buckets and then you can pour them out where you need them and easier to carry and would only have to shovel once.  Great idea!!!

I am all jazzed and can't wait until he lets me know for sure that he can get the rocks and maybe even be FREE!!!

Jerry and I went to two home improvement places yesterday and priced the edgers and stepping stones.  We have one more to go.  But it is raining today so I am going to clean my bedroom real good, move furniture around for the summer and if that goes quick, I will do Jerry's room also.

I have to get this spring cleaning done before May 18 and our Small Groups meeting!!

Good morning!!  It is another lovely day beginning here on the Oregon Coast, and I have a few things to accomplish before this evening.   ::)

Thanks, PAT, for moving that photo over here from SN.  I think that is one of the best photos of NITA I've seen for a while.   :D   Thanks, Soni and Ria, for your comments.   ;)

This is a sad time for our little church; tomorrow will be very hard for most of us.  :'(  I'd like to ask for prayers that God will, indeed, be Sovereign (or that we will allow Him to be...He is always sovereign!) and comfort and restore and bless His children.  :)

Gotta clean my house some more and then I'll be back...

Hey there, ETTA SUE!  :D  I didn't see you there  :P  Sounds like you're getting your place all spiffy and ready for summer ... and planning for less mowing in the future.  That will be a lot of work to get the rock laid and all, but afterward you can enjoy the benefits for a long time.

Soni, I simply LOVE that graphic.  I could sit and look at it forever!  HAHAHA!

Here's a hymn we've not had yet I don't think...

(https://www.christianphotographers.com/forum/graphics/musicbar.gif)

Now to the Lord a Noble Song   (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/now-to-the-lord-a-noble-song.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"Awake and sing." Isaiah 26:19

Words: Isaac Watts, Horæ Lyrica, 1707

Music: "Duke Street," attributed to John Hatton, 1793

Now to the Lord a noble song!
Awake, my soul; awake, my tongue;
Hosanna to th'eternal Name,
And all His boundless love proclaim.

See where it shines in Jesus' face,
The brightest image of His grace;
God, in the person of His Son,
Has all His mightiest works outdone.

The spacious earth and spreading flood
Proclaim the wise and powerful God;
And thy rich glories from afar
Sparkle in every rolling star.

But in His looks a glory stands,
The noblest labor of thine hands;
The pleasing luster of His eyes
Outshines the wonders of the skies.

Grace! 'tis a sweet, a charming theme;
My thoughts rejoice at Jesus' Name:
Ye angels, dwell upon the sound!
Ye heav'ns, reflect it to the ground!

O may I live to reach the place
Where he unveils His lovely face!
Where all His beauties you behold,
And sing His Name to harps of gold!

Pretty slow here today, dontcha think?

Hi, Ladybug :'(... It is good to see you here .. don't be afraid to just jump in and visit with us.  There's a plate of cookies over there on the table and the water is hot for tea ... also freshly brewed coffee, if that's your preferance.   ;)

I have finished all the housework I plan to do for today. Now I am awaiting some guests who should be arriving in a couple hours or less.

This morning a very kind man brought me another load of wood!  :D  I had him dump it in the front yard because it is easier to move it from there to the back where it needs to be stacked for winter.  He is in the process of changing jobs and will not be able to bring wood after that, so he said he will try to get two more loads to me before he leaves.    :D

God is sooo good to me!  This man brings these "scraps" from the mill for free!  Another friend is planning to come, in a week or so, to stack it for me...and chop the bigger pieces down to a more easily managed size.  Maybe, by the time he gets here, there will be even more wood piled up at my house!   ::)

Well, Jane, I believe the promise is to supply all our NEEDS (not our wants) according to His riches in glory. And, we all know He's plenty rich enough to supply all our needs.

Our Heavenly Father knows you will have need of that wood. How wonderful! Maybe someone else will "take up his mantle" after he changes jobs.

You are so right, RUTH ANN!   ;)  My Father takes really good care of me and certainly meets all my needs!

How are things going for you these days, my friend?  I think of you often <and smile> and pray for your family and your own health and peace ... just rest in Him.

Unfortunately, I can't look any prettier than the photo already shows, so it's no use changing photos.  But I sure like the ones of Soni and Jane that we're seeing now!

Thanks for that wonderful hymn, Pat.  I love that "Duke Street" tune.  I'm assuming that "Duke Street" was or is a street in London, one upon which a chapel of some sort stood.

It Will Be Worth It All[/color] (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/whenwese.mid)

Words and music by Esther Kerr Rusthoi

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
We're tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;
But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,
All tears forever over in God's eternal day.

Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One gliimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
We're tossed and driven on , no human help in sight;
But there is one in heav'n who knows our deepest care,
Let Jesus solve your problem - just go to Him in pray'r.

Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One gliimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

Life's day will soon be o'er, all storms forever past,
We'll cross the great divide, to glory, safe at last;
We'll share the joys of heav'n - a harp, a home, a crown,
The tempter will be banished, we'll lay our burden down.

Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One gliimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

Wow, for new members in one day!  (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fusers.adelphia.net%2F%7Epairajeans%2Fcirclesmiles.gif&hash=2f3793c3449a0aa5f0abb17e18ad329a8f835621) That's wonderful.   ;D

I took a break from the spring cleaning today and did some shopping and preparations for tomorrow's Communion instead.  And spent some time in the yard, taking advantage of the beautiful weather while it lasts.  :-\  (Oh yes, I got some new books at the library, too.)

This has been a do nothing day for me. I have spent a lot of time on the computer doing photos for myself and for Al.

No it is time to call it a day and relax some more.
