"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion's fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
(Lamentations 3:21-23)
God is faithful. He's full of compassion. His mercies are new every morning. As a believer, you know all that. But simply knowing it is not enough.
For it to do you any good, you have to recall it. You have to remember it again and again in order to rekindle your hope and stir your faith.
So, make it a point to remind yourself of God's faithfulness every morning. Remind yourself of the benefits that are yours in Jesus.
What are those benefits? Psalm 103 spells them out:
1. He forgives all your sins.
2. He heals all your diseases.
3. He redeems your life from destruction.
4. He crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.
5. He satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6. He executes righteousness and judgment for you against oppression. He sets you free.
7. He makes known His ways to you.
8. He gives you His grace and mercy in times of need.
Make it a point every morning this year to say those things out loud to the Lord. Stand before Him in prayer and recall His mercies to you. Keep it up and by the end of this year you'll be stronger in faith and more confident of God's love than you've ever been before.
Don't just settle for knowing God's blessings. Remember them every day and watch them come alive in you.
Scripture Study: Psalm 103:1-17Â
He truly does love us so!
I posted to Pat and someone else in the Today thread previous but it didn't show up. :(
Pat, hope you get some decent rest tonight and are able to be at peace.
For the person who asked about the girls, yes they are mine. :D

Wonderful devotional this morning, Janet. I've been busy here of late, so I haven't been on. Sorry about that, everyone.
Well I am heading off for the night. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv605%2FDreamWeaver000%2FAnipaw-kat.gif&hash=667746045ee9e8a2496cefc05cb9ba5b0cc6e138)
Resting in the arms of the Lord.

Good morning, friends,
Janet, that passage of scripture is my most favorite - just think - each fresh new day our God is faithful. Wow! Thinking of that scripture lifts my spirits.
Y'all have a good day today. It's pouring rain outside right now, so my arthritis is unhappy.
Judy, do go ahead and let the doctor fix your arm - I've worried so much about you and prayed often for you.
Skief, good news about your wife - it's wonderful when we get such good news.
Yes, Larry, a high spike in blood sugar will also make you feel pretty bad. That's why I'm thankful the medications are keeping me steady. I certainly hope this will ease up soon.
Must go - work's calling and there's no one to answer but me...
Ruth Ann
Good morning friends! It's time for a smile!
The first stop on my vacation was my sister's house in Montana. She's extremely organized -- before she leaves on a trip she always types up address labels for her postcards. This time, I figured I did her one better. The second day of our visit, I boasted, "You'll be impressed. I've already written thank-you notes to everyone I'll be staying with. They're all stamped and ready to go." My sister was silent for a moment. Then she asked, "You mean those little envelopes I saw in your room and mailed this morning?"
--Contributed to "Life in These United States" by Mary Byrd
Janet thank you for the reminder that we must remind ourselves of god's mercy. Psalm 103 and Psalm 91 are two of my most favorite Psalms. I have memorized 91 and pray it often.
Bob I have snagged your waving cat. I have seen it before a long time ago in an email. I hope you don't mind.
RuthAnn I am praying for you often. Since we have been having all this rain my previously injured joints and bones are aching. Although, I do feel better today after my bone cracking experience at the Chiropractor's office yesterday. There have been a few days that without  rubbing ben gay on my shoulder and neck it was difficult to brush my hair.
Have you all seen the damage done by the floods in California and Indiana? This rain has really been something else last night they said it was another El Nino.
I will be back later.[/b]

Good morning all!! Today is Travis's third birthday. Hard for me to believe. I won't describe what was going on at this moment 3 years ago, just suffice it to say I wasn't having a lot of fun. :-) ONE MONTH LEFT and he should have his little sister -- Kristi. Yea. Then, I keep not sleeping (but for different reasons. hahha).
Today, we are going to storytime at the library. Lisa, the librarian, said she might make the theme birthdays, in honor of Travis. I'm taking little treat bags for the kids so he can have a little party there.
I gotta go get ready. Take care all, adn have a wonderful day!!
HEARTY CP WELCOMES TO JENNIFER-JO AND CURTIS!!
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TRAVIS!!! ;D ;D ;D
I am just popping back in to say I will be away most of the day again. I am taking my Mom for her second cataract surgery, also have a recall thing on the car to get taken care of today. Thank God, the ice they predicted didn't come, so the roads are clear. That is my BIG praise and thank you to the Lord today!
Love you all, and will see you this evening.

We're so happy to have you here
Good Morning to you all...
We've got a freezing rain storm headed our way and I needed to drop my car off to have it looked at and now I'm home. Maybe I'll be in for the next day or two! :o
Poor Jennifer_Jo was welcomed by me in the welcome letter I send to all new folks as "Dear Curtis!" so I had to write and apologize to her. LOL What a rude awakening for her as her first connection to us here at CP!
Janet, what a wonderful devotion for all of us today. Psalm 103 is one of my favourite Psalms as well and for our parents, they liked it so much, they had on their car licence plate, PSA 103. Thanks so much for doing it.
Won't be long now, Karma. We'll all be praying for you as you get nearer to the time. Which reminds me... At church on Sunday, I met up with Jen and Luke. Jen is "Mercychild" on here (Paulette's daughter). She's really needing prayer right now. She's 26 weeks pregnant and carrying a very high risk pregnancy. Her situation is a placenta previa one which is very serious. So, let's all pray for our Jen as she tries to carry this little one to full term when she'll have to have a caesarian section delivery.
Love that little kitty, Bob! Great to see you too. Just happy you haven't been ill but just "busy". We miss our folks when we don't see them for awhile.
Ruth Ann, be happy that your rain isn't freezing rain. I really dislike that as there are so many accidents. Praying for you daily and your health.
Sorry you've experiencing so much pain, Marilyn. Get well there, my friend.
I love that graphic, Soni, that you've posted for Jennifer_Jo. Aren't snowflakes just beautiful?
Well, I have a room to organize and an Avon order to figure out. So I'll be back later.
Good Morning Everyone,
What an awesome devotional this morning. As a fairly new christian I am still getting familar with the bible. Reading these devotionals is helping me a great deal.
Thank you All,
God bless,
Jen

A fine devotional Janet, enough to feed on gor a week. I'll have to be quick as we are facing storn force winds and i don't know how long we will have power for 100 mph plus expected later this evening.
Pat, my dear sis my thoughts and prayers were with you yesterday as they are with you today. I am sure that I would have enjoyed Jack's company had it been possible, but when we do meet there will be no parting!
Annie's poem was superb. It said it all - what a talent.
LOL

Good Morning all!
I have had a very busy morning with the Lord for the first hour and then I had my friend's kids come to visit me for an hour with their dad. I am going to be watching them beginning next week as my friend has just returned from her matnerity leave.
Janet - the devotional this morning was excellent as Psalm 103 is a favourite of mine as well.
Welcome to Curtis and Jennifer_Jo you will love being here!!
Karma - So exciting a new baby. You will have to post a picture for us. I am praying for you and your baby.
Tonight is my first meeting with my house group for the Purpose Driven Life course so I am looking forward to that.

Jen, I'm so glad that the devotionals here on CP are a blessing to you. Â That's our main purpose for this site and it's just so good to read that you are receiving a blessing.
Make sure you check out our many studies down below this. Â Al Moak has done such a wonderful job writing a little short study on every Psalm in the Songs of Worship area and then he's taken us through the book of Mark and now is working on the book of Romans.
So, enjoy! Â And leave him a message there. Â He'll be so happy.

Karma, I am anxious to see the Kristy, too! Happy Birthday, Travis!!! You will be a big brother soon!
Small groups was fun last night. Great to get back together with friends. I missed it while we were on Christmas break.
I got up late this morning. It is raining. I can literally hear the water come into my basement through the drain in the floor. I must remind myself to keep an eye on it so I can get the sump pump running. Jerry went back home today. At least he waited until the fog lifted. He sent me an IM when he got home.

Personal Life: Longing for God
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O
God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come
and appear before God?
--Psalm 42:1-2
O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and
made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of
further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune
God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst
to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that
so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within
me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away."
Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty
lowland where I have wandered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen. The
Pursuit of God, 20.
"...I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst
to be made more thirsty still. Amen."

Brothers and Sisters,
My wife and I have had almost 2 weeks of family time. My son was home on leave from the Navy, and we had some beautiful family gatherings, but grandpa and grandma are worn out. :D It's a happy kind of tired.
Sister Pat, I told you about my fear of losing both of my old dogs, my companions through illness when my wife isn't home. Both of them have had surgery, and both of them will have a better quality of life than they've had in years. Needless to say, I'm glad my two old friends will be with me for years to come. :D I just wanted to share this happy news with you.
The best news is that all Christians have JESUS in their hearts, and HE will walk with us every step of the way in this short life on earth. JESUS is the real joy in me, and I give thanks that HE allows me to grow closer to him each day. What a day of JOY it will be when HE comes for us and takes us Home for eternity with HIM!
Love In Christ,
Tom
Psalms 111:2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
Hi everyone. This has been a very busy one for me as it was registration for our winter classes at the SeniorNet Computer Learning Center. We had just a great turnout, including at least 60 new folks who joined SeniorNet and will be taking our classes. I filled in for the treasurer, who had hip surgery today, and before we left I had the deposits ready so stopped and deposited them at the bank. We teach about 13 different class sessions (some classes have more than one session such as our Windows Essentials). It has been several years since we had such a good turnout. So we are all enouraged. We have also gained several new volunteers who are younger and bring a lot of experience with them.
I am still experiencing the tiredness but it does seem to be better. I took a nap when Pat and I got home from the Senior Center around 2 pm.
Welcome to Jennifer_JO and Curtis.
Janet, thanks for the devotional message today. That is a powerful scripture passage. Hope your day today hasn't been too trying.
I have read all the messages but am not going to try to respond to individual messages tonight. Just good to see everyone posting.
Been home for a bit here working on some PSP stuff and uploading to my web site. If yall want to see what I have been doing just go to my website and click on PSP Masters and you will see all the latest stuff.

I'm back home, and thanks, Larry, today was better. It is exhausting for me to take Mom anywhere, because she doesn't even try to help herself at all, but expects me to do everything for her. And I only have two hands! :-\ But after I prayed about it this morning and asked God to help me with my attitude, it did go better, and He provided a couple of strong men to help me when it was more than I could handle getting her into and out of the car. She doesn't stand up straight, but leans, so is very unsteady, and I'm so afraid she will fall. She is safely back in the care home now where the people are trained for that sort of help.
Dr. Luther Fry is known over a wide area around here for doing cataract surgery. I asked today how many he has done, because a number of years ago, he was awarded something for having done 10,000 of those surgeries. She said he has now passed the 65,000 mark! He had 18 just today alone!
I got to sit in the viewing area and watch the surgery on a tv monitor. His electron microscope has an attached camera, so I could see everything he did. It was fascinating! They gave me the video to bring home, too. And the surgery only took a total of 11 minutes---can you imagine? Well, I'm sure some of you have probably had it done, but I thank God for this technology which has allowed millions of people to retain their eyesight when otherwise they would be blind eventually. Okay----enough of that! :)
I got back to town early enough to be able to go to the doctor's office and the hospital and pick up Beth's records and films from her MRI, so we are ready to take those with us to the neurosurgeon on Thursday. And I got the recall thing fixed on the car; so all in all, I have had a profitable day. Thank you, God.
I need to call Beth and see how she's doing. See you later!

Thank you for your warm welcome!
It is going to take me a bit to figure my way around, but I am looking forward to the fellowship.
I made a great contact today with another Christian singer who produces his own CDs and creates all his own music.
I heard one of his CDs today and it was great! We talked about getting together and doing a project together!
God is so GOOD!!!! I am so excited!!!
Sorry it took me so long to check out the morning post area... I am going to have to do some back reading to catch up.
Praise the Lord for all of You!

WELCOME JEN!!![/color][/b]
We hope you'll enjoy the fellowship here!!!
Hi, Jennifer_Jo,
I don't know as much about this software as I should, but the tags here are just a bit different. Larry or some of the other moderators can give you great advice.
I'm thankful for a day at work where I got several things done, saw a project come to fruition today, and did a bunch of file maintenance.
So, while I'm tired, I'm thankful for a good day. It was a day that allowed me to spend long periods of time in silent prayer as I went about some mindless duties. How precious to know He's right there with us, no matter where we are or what we're doing.
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Jennifer - the reason the HTML tags are showing is that this site doesn't use HTML! When you are posting, see above the posting window for the tags we have to use.
Thanks for the devotional, Janet. It is always appreciated.
Pat, I didn't get on the computer yest. and am sorry that Pastor Jack had to leave...but you are still carrying on his work and that must be pleasing to both God and your husband.Â
The rain didn't come and the cold continues....more snow is forcast. We look like an Alberta winter. Victoria and outlying spots are not prepared for this and it is causing much hardship for many people. So many were without power & phone for days, so no heat. That is what it was like where I used to own my condo. Dreaded power failures. Fortunately, tho' the power did go out at times, we have both electric and gas heat here and other than being housebound...we are comfortable. A short distance over, the power was out for days and has only now been restored. God definately smiled on this place!!
God does not seem to be smiling in many lives from what I determined on another site...SN....Being bored and not used to staying indoors, I ventured forth on the internet. Usually only use the computer for specific things and not into much posting and not into chatting. Remembered there is a religious site on SN so thought to check it out. Big mistake. Read thro' the current posts and could not believe what was going on. Decided to make a short comment in order to take some of the heat of one poor, battered christian who was not doing well. They came out of the shadows, hissing and spewing venom. Made two more short posts and left for good. One thing that I have learned is to be compassionate towards other's point of view. According to Einstein, everything is relative. We each have our own version of what is truth...each see things from our own frame of reference. According to Physics (as I understand it) there is no one correct view of the universe and any observation is valid. For me, God is real and the Bible is truth. At least my truth makes for a happy experience and kept me from responding to that kind of abuse. :-\
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,†declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.†Isaiah 55:8-9
The Lord says: My thoughts are higher than your thoughts. I have something far greater in mind than you realize. And my ways are also much higher than your ways; my means to help you are much greater than you know.
God’s mercy is without bounds. We must not think that people are placed on earth to be eternally damned. He has forgiveness in mind for everyone. In everything, therefore, let us trust in his grace.
There now, I am sort of tired and possibly wrote too much! Wendy had a bad day and I made the dinner, now must go and take care of Misty. Bring her in from the garage for a bit each day and hold her on my lap. She is stuck in the garage until the snow goes as it is too cold and we would lose her in a snowbank! Poor thing almost got stuck under a bush the first snowfall.
Marilyn, I tried your Angel Biscuits and they are great!Â
Annie, I really liked your poem. I am sort of a dabbler in poetry myself....when the mood strikes.
Pleasant dreams and God Bless.
Liz
Liz, I'm so glad you didn't lose you power and stayed warm through the storm! Too bad about the vipers and their posts; I stopped going there for that very reason, I don't need more stress in my life.

The Morgan sea gypsies are a small tribe of 181 fishermen who spend much of the year on their boats fishing in the Andaman Sea from India to Indonesia and back to Thailand. In December, though, they live in shelters on the beaches of Thailand. In December 2004, in the hours before the killer Tsunami crashed ashore, the Morgan sea gypsies were living on those beaches. They were in harm's way and would have likely all perishedâ€"had they not listened to their elders.
For generations, the elders of the tribe had passed along one piece of wisdom. The tribe's 65-year-old village chief Sarmao Kathalay says, “The elders told us that if the water recedes fast it will reappear in the same quantity in which it disappeared.â€
And that is exactly what happened. The sea drained quickly from the beach, leaving stranded fish flopping on the shore. How easy it would have been for those who live off of the sea to run down where the water had been minutes ago and fill every basket available with fish. Some people did just that in other areas of South Thailand. Not the Morgan sea gypsies. When the water receded from the beach, the tribal chief ordered every one of the 181 tribal members to run to a temple in the mountains of South Surin Island. When the waters crashed ashore, the 181 sea gypsies were safe on high ground.

Hi Jennifer...
Just make sure that everything you want to be
BOLD is highlighted and then click on the Bold button. Don't click on it before the word and then following the word or you get both the opening and the closing tags in both places.
I took out the extra tags in your first post for you. You can go and click on Modify if you wish to see how the tags look now.
Great to see you using the buttons.
Hello and goodnight everyone. Â
I haven't been around much this past week, and was able to spend a very quiet evening catching up with everyone.
Just a couple of notes: Â I use Norton here, but AVG is on my computer at work. Â I am really not sure which one I prefer, as I have found that both have had viruses that I've had to work at get rid of. Â Luckily, the ones at work, I can just say "I give up" and call the techs in to finish. Â At home I have to stick with it until I get it resolved. Â Â ::)
Janet, I have really enjoyed sharing your Journey to Thailand, and am looking forward to all the photos you post.
Pat, 4 years is only a blink of an eye. Â :'(
Pat, you posted the music a couple of days ago, and it is now repeating over and over....
"LETS JUST PRAISE THE LORD, PRAISE THE LORD, LETS JUST LIFT OUR HEARTS TOWARD HEAVEN AND PRAISE THE LORD"
And now, goodnight everyone!
Lovely to read all your messages in today's New Every Morning.
I just thought that I'd put in the devotional tomorrow the very last devotional Jack ever wrote for me. He wrote it for me to use on SeniorNet in our Manna for the Soul discussion but I never found it till the day after the funeral.
I do pray that you'll receive a blessing from it.
Talk to you all tomorrow.
