Morning Devotional...

Enoch walked with God.
Genesis 5:24

Amos 3:3 asks, "Can two walk together except they be agreed?"

To walk in fellowship with God I must agree with Him concerning everything.

Each sin, however small it may seem, must be recognized by me as hindering my walk with my Lord. Then in brokenness of heart I must confess it to Him.

By faith in the blood of Christ, I will be immediately cleansed and able to continue enjoying my fellowship with Him (1 Jn. 1:9).

This is the "normal" Christian life.

Am I a normal Christian?

Author & Musician:  Charles A. Tindley, 1851-1933

Nothing between my soul and my Savior,
Naught of this world's delusive dream;
I have renounced all sinful pleasure;
Jesus is mine, there's nothing between.

Nothing between, like worldly pleasure;
Habits of life, though harmless they seem;
Must not my heart from Him ever sever;
He is my all, there's nothing between.

Nothing between, like pride or station;
Self or friends shall not intervene;
Though it may cost me much tribulation,
I am resolved, there's nothing between.

Nothing between, even many hard trials,
Though the whole world against me convene;
Watching with prayer and much self denial,
I'll triumph at last, there's nothing between.

What a beautiful song with such meaningful words.."Nothing Between my Savior and me"  Thank you, Pat :)

We had an extremely COLD weekend.  To keep the faucets open I dripped them all, put lights around the toilet, washing machine and kept everything from freezing. ( The disadvantage of an old house 5 ft off the ground is wintertime.)

Praying for Marilyn this morning and all through the day.  I will miss her posts.

Now back to my quiet time with the LORD.

May God bless each of you today.

in His love,  kathy

Here is a message I received written by a former high-school classmate who is now a missionary in Haiti - the e-mails are sent to a group of classmates - some will pray and other will send good thoughts.  When I read this, I thought you might be interested in what is happening in Haiti from her perspective - her husband is a missionary also.

Kathy:  I hope the open valve in the faucets works for you - We also have used heat tape on some pipes that were on an ouside wall - in the mountains where everything freezes for months.  It works quite well but a house that is 5 ft. off the ground - Next year, could you get someone to crawl under it and insulate the bottom of your floors?  It sounds like it must be terrible to heat.

Pat:  Thank you for your work this morning.  I noticed that you are going to spend some quiet time and that is a wonderful  idea on how to start the day.  I stagger to the treadmill to get that out of the way - a must do for me to keep blood pressure down.  Then, I can relax a bit.

Thinking of Marilyn now.

Yes indeed wonderful news from Haiti...

I am reading a book with equally wonderful news from China..

              The Heavenly Man

This is the remarkable True story of Brother Yun

Brother Yun stood up to be counted and laid his life on the line again  and again for Jesus. The True Christian Church in China owes much to this man., as do we all. He is an inspiration in our times.

RIA:
I've been meaning to ask you this before:  Living in Holland, have you ever been to Haarlem to visit the Ten boom Clock Shop?  It is "The Hiding Place" used by the Ten boom family to hide Jews in WWII.

We were there in 1987.  We didn't know the location.  We asked a shopkeeper if he knew where to clock shop was,  he did not.  We asked another, she knew, but did not speak English.  The shopkeeper had followed us and offered to translate.  God DOES provide.

It had not been opened to the public yet, but the curator let us in anyway.

What a spiritual adventure to see such a place.  We have read Corrie ten Boom's book and have seen her on Billy Graham Crusade's.

Good morning Jenny, Ria, Cathy, Carol, Sarah, and Fast Eddie,

Eddie, I am a grandfather too.  In fact in June I am going to become a great grandfather.

Ps 92:12-15  The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;  planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.  They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,  proclaiming, "The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."  (NIV)

Thinking about Marilyn today.

Hello all!

I'm thinking of Marilyn as well.

Thanks for the story about Haiti.  I had heard that years ago, and wondered if is was true.  In college, I had a Geography class, and in the book was a picture of the border between Haiti and the Domenican Republic.  It was amazing.  On one side was a barren field and on the other side was green, lush foliage.  That was the border.  Satan cannot give the gift of life in any form, eh?

Gotta get to work!  Later

Oh, Pooh!  (as in Pooh Bear)...I missed little Travis' birthday.  Just know, TAS that you are loved by many more than just your family!  Happy Birthday, Travis!!!

Larry, I am praying that when I see the Pain Management Specialist this morning that I come home free of pain.  The papers that was sent to my house to fill out stated that no procedures would be done on the first visit but hopefully, that isn't true for everyone.  I felt real good yesterday but in the night, I woke several times because of the pain.

Al, that is the greatest compliment that I have heard for a very long time.  And coming from a preacher, is more special.  I read my Bible but have a tendency to take things literally.  (House built on rock...my house is built on dirt...no rocks under my house)  All I know is God planted that definition in my head...I couldn't have thought it up on my own!!

Chris, thanks for the scripture...The deer pants for water brooks.  Our thirst is never satisfied.  Oh, if our thirst ever became satisfied, we would be in deep trouble.

Pat, Good Morning.  I will see more of you on here later, I am sure.  (Later)  I knew you'd be back.  You and me both are praying that Marilyn and I have painless neck,  shoulder and arm very soon.  Yesterday would be soon enough!!!

Ruth Ann, I remember my move just two years ago.  I feel for you.  And I only moved 25 miles.

Ruth, I think you mean defragging your computer.  I will be so glad when my step-g-son builds my new pc.  I will have Windows XP and I understand there is no maintenance to perform on XP!!!

Carol, really ever since I decided to get a new pc built, this one has been performing very good.  But I am sure the new one will be better once I get it down pat and install the things I like to do on the new one.

Marilyn, do you have Windows XP?  My step-g-son says 'no maintenance on XP'.  I remember someone on SrNet defragged XP and it caused all kinds of problems.  Maybe.....

Ria, I love that deer running.  That is about the best animation I have ever seen.  Thanks.  Uh, I saved it for my use also.  Hope you don't mind.

Ruth, good morning to you.  I hope you had a God-blessed God's day.

Janet, glad you enjoyed your sermon yesterday.  Our pastor preached on sin and sexual immorality.  Jerry and I duplicated twice as many tapes than usual yesterday.  Grandmothers wanting them for granddaughter and grandsons, mothers for their children...Yesterday was Teen Church also so they didn't hear David's sermon.  Very moving sermon...food for thought.

Sonja, good to read that you recieved a great sermon also.  Isn't God's day fulfilling?  I never hear a sermon but what I learn something about myself.  Well, I just hope that I apply them to myself as well.  Glad your photo shoot went well.

Laura, so glad you posted.  Come back often and tell us about yourself.  We LOVE new members.

Jeanne, are you thawing out in upper New York?  It is above freezing here so that is good!

Papa John, good to see you here.  I am sitting here wondering....you may not know while here on earth how much you influence people, but I am sure when you get to heaven you will feel all the love towards you and Cornelia.  My heart smiles each time I see your green posts.

Sarah, I am so happy to see you posting happy positive posts.  You really had me scared awhile back but now you seem to be busting all over with happiness.  God is good.

Karma, I, too, was thinking of Trish.  I also wonder how she is.  Does anyone know?  Happy Birthday again, Travis.  (When you are two, you get two days of birthdays.  Didja know that?)

Fast Eddie, are you going to furnish us with the answers?  Two great questions that I don't have time to ponder over right now.

Judy B, good to see you dropping in.

Lee, Inky is driving me bonkers.  I don't know what she is going to do next or why.  Glad Vivian is getting a sedative.  Wish I had.

I put the previous post on notepad and then went to the Pain Management Specialist.  I have narrowing between my 6th & 7th disc.  Probably an arthritis spur hitting a nerve causing the pain.  No procedure was done today...he doesn't do them in the office.  But I go the 22nd to a surgery center.  He will give me an injection in my neck while it can be seen by x-ray.  He didn't say I would be 'under' but I am assuming I will be since I am to be there 1½ hours before the procedure and a passenger on the way home.  The injection will be an anti-flammory medication as well as a numbing medication to settle the nerve down.  Hopefully this will take care of the pain.  Hurry up and wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, yes!  Ivalou and I had Chinese before returning home.   ;)  I love you, Mieka!!

I can tell you all this much---being without your computer is VERY frustrating!  >:( :(

I talk to Trish often in the evenings, and she is doing well.  She has to be very careful of what she eats, as if she gets any sugar, it throws her into convulsions!  I think that is the hardest thing for her.  She and Jacob still plan to be married, I think in May or June of this year.  Since my computer is kaput just now, I haven't gotten to speak to her lately.

Sarah, I echo Etta Sue in that it's so good to have you sounding so upbeat again.  Glad you enjoy school and basketball, and look forward to being a big SENIOR!!

Fast Eddie--good questions!!  Like Soni said, the thought or question had never crossed my mind, but immediately upon reading it, I thought "NO" they wouldn't have had a belly button!  Thanks Pat, for the site, I did go read that page.  Good information.

I am also thinking of Marilyn today.  It is 1:00 P.M. here, so I'm thinking her surgery should be over by now.

I am rushing around like a chicken with its head cut off today, and must go do more.  I just came upstairs to fax in an order, and couldn't resist coming to CP, since Darrel's computer was right here by the Fax machine! ;) ;D

Talk to all of you later!

The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for.

I have had a long night.  Chandraya is sick and was up quite a bit.  I don't like it when little ones are sick.

I got to sleep in till 10:00.  Now I feel really tired.  Maybe to much sleep.

Not much planned for the day. Just the usual.

Hello Everyone...

Wow!  I'm bushed.  I was just outside for the last two hours digging the drive out so I could get the car out.  And the temperature is right about zero so it's very heavy snow.  Great snow to make a snowman though...  Want to help me, Sonja?  I'm sorry that Chandraya is sick.  It's not nice to see the little ones ill for sure.

(I just got a real giggle here...felt like Meika!  I just imagined Karma leading the choir and Sonja being one of the choir members making funny faces at Karma! )

Oh dear, I better get back to my snow digging.

It will be nice when all of our members are back to being healthy with healthy computers!

Praying for Marilyn right now.

I have been thinking of and praying for Marilyn.  Anyone know the time surgery was booked for?

I am just home froom picking up Melaura, dropping off John, and going to the Doctor.  I went concerning my meds, and asked about my back and sholder, he said that would be another appointment. He wouldn't talk about it, and sent me on my way.  His nurse caught me before I left and told me my bad Cholesterol is up.  Gave me a diet plan and said goodbye.  I have made an appointment with the chiropractor and hopefully he can help. Does anyone else have this kind of thing happen with doctors?  I just find it so frustrating.

The drill team has not been picked for Melaura yet, as there were 2 cadets that were sick.  Too bad the ones who were there are really anxious to know the results.

Well need toget back off the puter, sholders and right arm is really sore.

Bye for now

AS TO THE QUESTION:  Would there be sin w/o Satan or the Demons?

My Pastor Rich has a way of coming up with question that cause you to think.  That said....would there be sin?

As far as I'm concerned, the question really doesn't have an answer.  We are sinful by nature because of what Eve did and Adam also. God knew it would happen that way, and indeed that is the way it is.  So He created ALL things even the fallen angels...and if He is who He said He is......He knew what would happen in the garden.

Those who have kids will understand what I am about to say....Sometimes I knew what they had done, either by evidence (a broken window) or by instinct (something don't seem right)

When I asked my kids about it, I knew the answer, I just wanted them to "fess up."  Naturally, the slate was wiped clean.

God didn't have to ask Adam "Who told you that you were naked?" God already knew they had sinned before He ever entered the garden.

Then Adam tried to blame that woman and then with typical male fashion of shifting blame,  he implied it was God's fault when he said ".....that woman YOU gave me....."

NOW FOR THE BELLY BUTTON:  Since God created things with age, like the  MAN Adam not the CHILD Adam and Eve the WOMAN not Eve the LITTLE girl....I think that Adam & Eve had belly buttons, just like all born after them.

Interesting questions and an even more interesting reply.    I suppose the belly button issue we will know when we get to heaven.  You are right God does know all things.  He is all things and knows what is going to happen in the future.  I am so thankful He knows all,  There are details of each of our lives where God is the only one who knows all, and in knowing he does not condemn.  Thankyou Lord for not condemning.

Boy did I get a surprise a few moments ago!  The phone rang, and I answered in my usual fashion, "Al Moak here."  A voice on the other end said, "Al Moak here."  It was Marilyn's voice!  She called me from her hospital room!  Her first comment after saying she was fine was, "I'm ready for a cheeseburger!  Well, maybe a turkeyburger!"  Her greatest concern expressed during the conversation was that she would never be able to catch up reading all the posts!  I told her not to even think about it.

Thank you Pat for the devotional this morning.....I know Charles Price, our Pastor, is talking about our relationship with God.    He said a person can be a Child of God because he has accepted Christ but not have any fellowship with God because he is not walking with God.

We all thought about out lives and I know a lot of us have decided to be more committed to Him, our God and Saviour.    I know that I want to be in closer fellowship with Him.

God bless

How Great Thou Art (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/howgreat.mid)
(Click to hear music)

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Chorus

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Chorus

Pat....that's so good that Andrew shovelled your driveway.    I was out again and just finishing the shovelling when a young man called to me from the sidewalk  "Do you need a hand?"   I though that was so nice.     It is true the snow is wet and heavy.  Need to be careful.

Pat, I remember my wonderful Mother would be outside when I came home, shovelling snow.   She was in her late 70's or early 80's and had a rhythmatic heart!  I would always scold her and take the shovel off her.      What memories!

Thank you for the music   "How Great Thou Art"

Love Ruthie

Guess we're colder here than you folks are in Guelph.  We didn't get a lot of snow, only about 4 or 5 inches, but the temperature stayed in the low 20's (about -10 or -12 C) so it was nice and light and fluffy.  Should be more of the same tomorrow and then back to below zero for a while.

Thanks, Al, for the news about Marilyn.  I've had her on my mind and in my prayers since I got up at 5:30 this morning so it was good to know you've already heard from her.

We are fortunate, our driveway is so big that a local farmer plows it out for us.  The cost is reasonable too.  He has a lot of drives he does on our road, and he digs out the mail boxes as well.

The weather is warm enough for it to snow, but cold enough for the snow to be dry and crunchy.  I prefir the wet snow it is far more fun for the girls then the dry.  We have had enough snow to develope a good base of packed snow on the back roads.  I have become used to driving on snow pack.

Melaura fell down a flight of stairs today, and is pretty stiff and sore.  she bowed out of cadets as the marching would have been a problem.

I am glad Marilyn is asking for food, it is a good sign you  think?

Well it is late I am heading for bed.
Night all

I am just checking in again, good to hear that Marilyn is doing well.

Soni, give sweet Chandraya a hug for me, and I pray she will wake up feeling all better in the morning!

Pat, you and Ruthie be careful shoveling that heavy snow!  That's hard work, and hard on you.  Don't get out unless it is absolutely necessary.  (End of lecture.)

I am tired, but got a lot accomplished today, so that feels good.  Beth and I were invited to a dinner meeting tonight.  The food was good, but the spiel on fire safety got pretty long, and I was wishing I was home!

I'm headed down to read for a bit---in bed!

To err is human---but you'd better have a better excuse than that!

Thanks Janet! ((hug))

Good reading!  ;D

I am headed to bed myself, not to read but to sleep.

See us all in the morning.

Night Soni-Baloni!   ;)  I sure hope that your little one is so much better in the morning.

Glad that we heard from Marilyn too.

Hope that tomorrow will be a day where everyone is getting better from sore necks and arms and backs!  (I think I have one from digging!  :o )

Now it's time to lock this door and open another one where you can continue talking till tomorrow!
