Morning Devotional...
Jesus and Foreigners
Luke 7:1-17 NLT
1When Jesus had finished saying all this, he went back to Capernaum. 2Now the highly valued slave of a Roman officer was sick and near death. 3When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish leaders to ask him to come and heal his slave. 4So they earnestly begged Jesus to come with them and help the man. "If anyone deserves your help, it is he," they said, 5"for he loves the Jews and even built a synagogue for us."
6So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, "Lord, don't trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor. 7I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. 8I know because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, `Go,' and they go, or `Come,' and they come. And if I say to my slaves, `Do this or that,' they do it."
9When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd, he said, "I tell you, I haven't seen faith like this in all the land of Israel!" 10And when the officer's friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed.
11Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, with a great crowd following him. 12A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The boy who had died was the only son of a widow, and many mourners from the village were with her. 13When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. "Don't cry!" he said. 14Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. "Young man," he said, "get up." 15Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk to those around him! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.
16Great fear swept the crowd, and they praised God, saying, "A mighty prophet has risen among us," and "We have seen the hand of God at work today." 17The report of what Jesus had done that day spread all over Judea and even out across its borders.

The Roman officer didn't come to Jesus, and he didn't expect Jesus to come to him. Just as this officer did not need to be present to have his orders carried out, so Jesus didn't need to be present to heal.
The officer's faith was especially amazing because he was a Gentile who had not been brought up to know a loving God. Jesus praised this man's faith.
What would he say about yours?

Not much happening here either. I mailed some letters, took back movies my grandson watched, got cat food, and human food, washed dishes. Stuff. lol
We had some sunshine today. I saw lots of people out walking while I was driving to the store.
Rocko is trying to tell me something, so I'll let them outside. He's so funny when he's trying to talk. He makes the stranges noises.

Nothing much has happend here either, I've been at work for less than a hour and I already feel that I've worked for 8 hours straight. lol I went to the store early this morning to get a few things for the office, today is my cleaning day and I'm not really in the mood, but it has to be done. I'll be singing while I work, maybe that will help. :)
Hope that all of my friends here are well.

Hi everyone. I have only about 6 minutes to post and then have to leave for most of the day.
Today is my retiree's luncheon. I was so tired yesterday that I didn't think I would feel up to attending but got up this morning feeling like my normal self. My wife feels I amy have sleep apnea and we have ordered a device that will raise the top part of the matress. It inflates and deflates with a remote control. Hope it works as don't want to go through the sleep clinic routine.
Following the luncheon I will stop at the church for Calvin Cove.
A belated Birthday wish to Travis on his 4th birthday. Sorry I didn't have the energy to post yesterday.
Glad to see everyone posting. Nothing else new here in Georgia. We are still have beautiful weather, which I so appreciate. The sun is out today and it isn't too chilly.
Here you sleepy heads. :D ;D

Hello to everyone. Things are slow here today but that's the way I like it! LOL
I am reading my bible plan today Exodus 33:19-and God said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee.
That's enough to cause me to praise the Lord today.
Hope everyone is doing good and I wish you God's greatest blessings today.
Hello Everyone. Yes is seem,s to be rather slow today. Thank you Chris for all the links re:sleeping. Good information there.
Nothing new here with me today. I am doing Versal's laundry now and was rearranging some of my PSP stuff into more folders .
It is supposed to rain a lot again. Hopefull we will not lose power this time.
TTYL
Marilyn- you are so good to the ladies that you help. Do you do Versal's laundry at your home or hers?
I'd sure like to have a personal support worker like you.
My cleaning lady up and quit yesterday. She has obtained an office job. I don't blame her at all, as office work is sure a lot better paying and more interesting than working for me, - although - I do pay $15.00 an hour....not exactly chicken feed, is it?
Please pray that I will find a suitable person that I can employ. My 2nd previous cleaning lady, was with me for 18 years!
Thanks, friends...... Judy
Judy Mc I do her laundry here at my house. I wish I could come and do your house for you.
Judy, $15 an hour is great money. All I am being offered here for full-time is $9-10 an hour and I am turning them down. If I lived closer, I would come and clean for you.
My cousin moved in last evening for a period of time, not sure how long but she is welcome for as long as she needs to stay. Other than that, not much new or exciting in my house. Now to get off the puter and watch some television and relax while knitting. I have a hat to finish and a scarf to start.
Sue, it's so good to see you posting! <3 I've missed you.
Sorry I haven't been around today much but find it difficult to get down the stairs with my silly hip problem.
I've opened the new New Every Morning and will talk to you all tomorrow.
