Morning Devotional...
But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw His glory, and the two men that stood with Him. Luke 9:32
I often find myself reading Scripture and at the end of the chapter I can hardly remember what I have read.
My mind has wandered and I have failed to concentrate. One needs to be alert and attentive in the things of God.
I therefore have to start all over again, and with a bit more effort, begin to see the jewels shine, and the Saviour's beauties become obvious.
If truth does not sink in the first time, don't despair; wake up and try again.
--Brian RussellAnd while I wait for all Thy joys
my yearning heart to fill,
Teach me to walk and work with Thee
and at Thy feet sit still.

I stopped in to say good night and here it is Good Mornring.
Good Morning Jenny, Ria, Chris, Margit, and Iain
I'm going to bed now too.
Would you all please pray for my brother. He had a stroke this evening. I guess he is paralized on one side of his body. Thanks!
Sonja, I'll certainly be praying for your brother's return to health and that God will allow him to regain use of his body.
Tomorrow will be an unusual day for our family. I just got in from taking my oldest son to Chattanooga to meet up with the 3rd son. He'll be staying with them in Atlanta tomorrow and Saturday. Well, the 2nd son (who lives in England) is arriving in Atlanta tomorrow afternoon.
So, this is the first time in many, many years that the 3 sons can be together, even for a few hours.
We're ALL delighted!
Ruth Ann
I was just praying for Sonja's brother and for Sonja too with the news that she's received tonight. This hymn came into my mind as I was speaking to the Lord.

Cast all your anxieties on Him,
for He cares about you.
1 Peter 5:7
Words & Music: Elisha A. Hoffman, 1893.
There was a woman to whom God had permitted many visitations of sorrow and affliction. Coming to her home one day, I found her much discouraged. She unburdened her heart, concluding with the question, "Brother Hoffman, what shall I do?" I quoted from the word, then added, "You cannot do better than to take all of your sorrows to Jesus. You must tell Jesus."
For a moment she seemed lost in meditation. Then her eyes lighted as she exclaimed, "Yes, I must tell Jesus." As I left her home I had a vision of that joy-illuminated face...and I heard all along my pathway the echo, "I must tell Jesus. I must tell Jesus."
Hoffman wrote these words after reaching home.
I must tell Jesus all of my trials;
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me;
He ever loves and cares for His own.
Refrain
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.
I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;
He is a kind, compassionate friend;
If I but ask Him, He will deliver,
Make of my troubles quickly an end.
Refrain
Tempted and tried, I need a great Savior;
One Who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus;
He all my cares and sorrows will share.
Refrain
O how the world to evil allures me!
O how my heart is tempted to sin!
I must tell Jesus, and He will help me
Over the world the victory to win.
Refrain

Sonja.............
I'm sincerely sorry to hear of your brothers illness. He'll be in my prayers for sure
Pat............
I'd love to have had a picture of you eating soup out of a bowl with a spoon and driving too. You're something. ;)
Nice devotional Pat. I will read it again in the morning. Have not had time to read today's posts and rather out of touch.
Will pray for your brother, Sonja. I'm so sorry this has happened.
Nice to see that you are posting, Marilyn. Must mean that things are going well. Did the dogs miss their Mom??
I saw Al yesterday, Pat. He is very weak and trying hard to be gracious and brave. His heart is so strong, even tho' his body is not able to move. It is a long trip now and I won't be able to go many times. Simply keep telling him to trust God and believe that there is a reason why his journey is still continuing. Not always easy to believe this truth....but it is truth!
Good nite all and God Bless. Liz
Pat wants 2 pages before she gets up in the morning, so thought I'd be part of that. :)
Marilyn, it's good to see you posting again....and, of course, giving all the praise to Dr. Jesus.
My "depression" has totally lifted, and I believe now that it was spiritual. I've spent lots of time with the Lord (I must tell Jesus..) and it all comes down to something that He has called me to do, asked me to do, and my failure to do it.
Chris, you'll think it's funny....though I didn't "plan" to call anyone or send cards this day....I ended up having a call from a cousin that I haven't seen in probably 20 years. That was God. My sister called, and I found out that my 36 year old nephew accepted the Lord last Sunday in church!!!! That was God. And my daughter called to share some touching news, and I called Jane and we had a heartfelt talk about our wonderful Jesus and how He is working in our lives......(That was God)and tonight I was able to come here and see some prayer requests and then more time in intercession. It has been a VERY GOOD DAY. :) That's God. He even plans how you can reach out when you haven't yet. haha
Jenny, I do believe the Lavender idea sounds really nice. I keep hearing about Lavender, and have wanted to put some in my room just because it's so yummy.
Well, do I dare say that it got up to 59 here today? If Marilyn runs out of room, I guess you all can come to Coos Bay, get warm, and eat homemade vegetable soup with us. No fair bringing ice or snow though. Pat, be sure and grab that photo of you eating soup and driving at the same time.
Sonja I'm so sorry about your brother. I'm praying along with the rest of your family here.
Ruth Ann.....that will be so nice having all your sons together. I know you'll be taking pictures.
Hi, Lee and Liz. Good morning. Goodnight, Lee and Liz. :)
9 a.m. Ice Cold in England.
Oooh this is a nice exciting start to the day, some super folks here to greet me for a change! :D
Pat I use a Spurgeon devotional sometimes., "God's Treasury", the cheque book of the bank of faith. Such an encouraging compilation, fully recommended. This is one I give as a gift to friends.
I understand from the "Books 4 Life" web-site, that there is a new Spurgeon devotional in print.
Also Pat, I am glad if you took soup with you, lass after my own heart. I bet it tasted like nectar.
Soni I am sorry about your brother dear. I will pray for him. He can't be very old I guess, such an awful thing to cope with. I Know God will use this for His Glory dear little sister. He uses everything to draw us closer to Himself.
Nita Indeed you are "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.".......He does not let us go until He has put us in a "safe" place, Amen!
Re 'lavender' I use lavender soap each morning for my wash. My son keeps me supplied. IO absolutely love lavender soap. I can smell my Welsh Nanna's bathroom each time I use it. It has such healing properties. Chris gets my soap from"Past-Times" it is good for my dry skin.
Marilyn Steady on girl. Don't overdo it! We all know you! Do as I say.....not as I do, Ha Ha!
Liz Praise God that Al has you for support and witness., also to pray for him dear.
Lee Hello dear brother.
Lovely hymn Pat.
Yes, do tell Jesus, everything, He waits to be gracious to you. If you don't ask how can you receive.
Ria and Iain Hello dear ones.
See you later.
Love and prayers.
Jenny

My eternal alarm clock woke me up again.
Thank you all for your prayers. I sure you all know I wouldn't have any news yet, being this early in the morning. The birds are still sleeping. ::)
Oh boy, do I have lots of things to do today. Thought I would start by helping Nita get two pages up before Pat wakes up.
I'll be back in a few. Troy is leaving for Cheyenne this morning. Please keep them in your prayers too. Thanks! :)
Good Morning Pat: I'm on my way downtown to the Detroit Auto Show. I've just enough time to write a short response to your message.
I, too found myself reading His Word and not getting anything out of it.
He spoke to me and said, "Read it again and again, till I speak to you." So I re-read it and sometimes a third time...till He speaks to me.
Sometimes I have read the same sentence 3-4 times and I finally GET IT.
Gotta go. Ed
Ok, I am back. Now back to getting this forum to 2 pages.

I do make the graphics with my pictures behind them for birthdays and greetings. I guess I have made a few animations now that I think about it. But very few. :)
Rainy day there. I think it is supposed to be sunny here again and hopefully all weekend so we have a safe trip.
QuoteBy Joyce Robison~Must tell you about a dream last night; I was
giving dancing lessons to specially handicapped children
I was also very, very young (around Karmet and Sonja's age)
.
Then I was with my daughter's ex-father in law and he asked if I heard any good "tag lines."
I said yes, Sonja is a delight and I love her tag line
God never takes you to a door without opening it for you
I told him that was almost like she said it--he told me to ask her permission if he may use it in his correspondence.
Isn't that crazy??I never met Sonja and I keep remembering her words--I hope that that was right.
Please, Sonja, if you have a chance --write it down again.
When I see him in person, I will tell him about the dream and the saying.
I know he will love it ( a fabulous Christian man) and he will share it
Thanks,
Love in Christ,
Joyce
Joyce, this is so sweet. I don't remember writing that down. I do remember it though. I wonder if it was someone else posted it and I copied it and quoted it?
I wonder if someone else knows???
How are you today? It is funny how we have dreams about someone we haven't even met. I do that all the time. I feel like I have known everyone here for ages.
I hope your day goes well.

Nita, I'm so glad it "lifted" God is so good isn't he? When things look so crummy, it seems like he gives an extra blessing. I wonder how people without God do it? ???
Go Troy -- swim like a fish!!
Go Sarah -- Show 'em how to play hoops!!
I hope everyone has a great day. Travis and i have a lot to do, so we had better get started.

I wasn't able to sign in here yesterday and missed so much.
Jenny: Lavendar soap - that smells so nice. Good to see you carrying on the Good Words to all of us.
Etta Sue: The dollar bill "joke" was sad in a way - my father used to toss huge amounts in the basket at church and even when we couldn't afford to do so and it just multiplied and came back.
Marilyn: Love what you said to the nurse at the hospital - Jesus was your doctor. I bet that nurse repeated your words! Heal quickly!
Sue: On your bumper sticker joke - I recently saw a vehicle with Choose Life sticker and they were driving quite insane. I wanted to get close so I could say "I would really like you to choose life for me and everyone on this street" but - they got away too fast. Really funny! Why do the drivers with Purple Heart bumper stickers try to wound us too? (Just my little observation)
Pat: Sounds like you had a very stressful day of driving. I hope you are home resting today.
Sonja: My best wishes and prayers for your brother. Tell Zachery that we all wish his braces to feel more comfortable very soon as well.
Where does everyone find the cute figures they put in here? The animated things? Where do you save them when you find them? Carol
Good morning!! What a mix of prayer requests and praise reports here already! Lots for our dear Pat to read.
Pat, I hope you are feeling much better today and had a great night's rest.
Curtis called last night and asked if I wanted my computer back--you wouldn't guess the answer to that! So we went down, but he still was having a problem with something. We stayed until 9:00 and he still hadn't gotten it quite figured out, so my computer will stay at their house until we get home from Honduras. :'( I felt so bad for Curtis---he just kept saying "I'm sorry, Grams. I don't know what I did wrong." But he will get it figured out. At least it isn't costing me a bundle! :)
We are putting the last few things and heading out in just a little while. I will miss all of you and be thinking about you. I hope to get lots of photos to share.
Darrel just reconfirmed our flight, so we are ready! WOO-HOO!! Ocean, here I come!! ;D
Sonja, I will be remembering to pray for your brother, too. Where does he live?
Nita, I'm so glad you did share about your depressed days, and give all of us a chance to help you bear your burden. What power there is in the prayer of agreement! Praise God!
I must go, I only have an hour to run an errand, eat breakfast, and get my makeup on! Hurry, hurry!!!
I love you all!! Bye for a week--I should be back home Saturday night, January 24.
Ria ~ That is absolutely true. We do need to visit family, friends and loved ones more often and not wait until there is a death in the family to unite! I don't use the telephone very much. I am afraid the person I am calling is busy/asleep/getting ready to leave/in the middle of something. So it may be months before I talk to someone if they don't have internet. But I am trying to remedy that.
Lee ~ When I finished reading about the torn one-dollar bill, I wondered what the church would feel like if a $50 was put in the offering plate...hmmmmm! We take donations for the tapes we duplicate. One lady opened her billfold and got out several bills for the donation box. I noticed a $20. I asked her about it. No, she didn't want to leave the $20. That didn't surprise me. What would have surprised me was if she had said 'Yes!'
Marilyn ~ I saw you come online yesterday on MSN IM. I don't click in because I thought someone else was using your computer while you were in the hospital. Things must have gone well since your stay was shorter than you thought. Welcome home! Take it easy.
Sonja ~ Congratulation, Lila Mae! (I felt that way when Inky 'went poopy' in the litter box after leaving a present in the kitchen) Inky and Ali are doing great. They run, chase, then rest, eat and then it starts all over again. Oh, the life of a cat!!! Sorry about your brother. Prayers are going out for him and his family.
Janet ~ Hmmm! Kevin said no more defragging. Tony said no more defragging. On SrNet, someone defragged XP and it really messed things up big time. Tony says he never shuts his computer down. But if it happens to be draggy, he restarts it and it is fine again. I guess I will find out. Kevin should have mine done soon between 5-days a week at college and working evenings at WalMart.
Pat ~ So glad you got home safely after all the traffic jams.
Sarah ~ Hi. How did you do on your tests?
I was trying to respond to everyone, then noticed the time. I have to start getting ready for my outing with my classmate from high school. It is cloudy and gloomy but God gives us light!?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`

Good Morning one and all I have just had orders on aol messenger from Jenny not to overdo. Well I am just independant enough to try to do a few little things like some laundry and vacuuming. Dog hair everywhere all the time so must vacuum almost daily. I have a very lightweight Orick vacuum and it has a new bag so it won't be heavy at all.
Nita glad to see you are feeeling better.
Etta Sue you should have clicked in just to see if it was me on msn.
Going to the doctor today to check the catheter, see if it can go away.

The Village Idiot
=================
Once upon a time there was a village named Egoville hidden away
in the mountains. Now, this village, like most villages, had
their own idiot. His name was Hugh Millety.
Hugh, the village idiot, was the ridicule of Egoville.
The towns folk would often set him up with silly choices in order
to laugh mercilessly at him when he made the wrong choice.
"Hugh," they'd say, "would you rather have this shiny new
quarter or this dirty old torn dollar bill?"
"I'd like the shiny quarter," Hugh would reply. His tormentor
would give him the quarter and walk away laughing, declaring
Hugh a true village idiot. Hugh would just shrug and go about
his business.
Even though it was a poor village with little opportunity, this
was repeated several times a day by many people. As the years
went by, the ridicule became a ritual that dozens of townies
took part in. The towns folk had little to their names, but at
least they could feel better about themselves in comparison to
the village idiot this way. It was their small comfort in the
lap of poverty.
Not everyone would make fun of Hugh though. A few felt sorry for
him and gave him hand-me-down clothes, leftover food, and even
an old shack to live in at the edge of town. Hugh lived off of
the handouts of the charitable few.
One day, Hugh showed up at the village square wearing a brand new
suit. Everyone was amazed, for few people in the town could afford
new clothing, let alone a nice suit. The small village didn't even
have a new clothing store, only a used clothing store.
One of townsfolk asked Hugh where he got his new suit, thinking
he must have stolen it. He bought it, he told them. And
furthermore he added, the fine new house being built on the
mountainside that everyone was wondering about, that was his.
When questioned where he got the money, he told them it was the
money they gave him. With people giving him food, clothing, and
shelter, he simply saved and invested everything they gave him.
"I may be your village idiot," he smiled and said,
"but I'm no fool."
But why then, they asked, did he always take the lesser amount
of money they offered him if he was so cunning?
Hugh replied that if he had taken the greater amount of money,
they would have stopped offering it to him. He earned his money
by letting them laugh at him, but he knew the first time he took
the greater amount they'd stop offering him money and find
something else to laugh at him about.
"Now," said Hugh, "I'm the richest person in town and have all
the money I need. I didn't waste money amusing myself at the
expense of someone I falsely perceived to be a lesser person.
And you, all of you, have little more now than you had when you
started ridiculing me. So tell me, who is the village idiot now?"
Hugh smiled again, then handed out hundred dollar bills to those
who had been kind to him. The townsfolk were shocked. It was
true though, they had frittered away their money a little at a
time, trying to make themselves feel big by comparison to the
village idiot.
It just goes to show you, if you live in Egoville, take care not
to become the village idiot by your vain perceptions. On the
other hand, if you follow the wisdom of Hugh Millety, you might
just become the richest person in town.

WELCOME joemoses53!!!
We're so glad to see you!
Hi everyone. Just have a minute or so to write this morning and hopefully can get back later and write a little more.
Welcome to joemoses53.
Sonja, certainly sorry to hear about the stroke your brother suffered and will be praying for him. Hope Troy has a good trip to his meet. Is your family still going to be able to attend the event as you planned? Sonja, I do have a meter that works on my steps. However, I don't use it as it is posted that 15 laps around the gym is a mile. What I want to get is a lap counter as I am now using my fingers to keep track of the laps walked.
Pat, glad you had a safe trip and I saw your message on SeniorNet that your dental student spoke of light at the end of the tunnel. Sure that was music to your ears.
Marilyn, certainly glad to see you are home and feeling well but am certainly concerned when you spoke of using the vacuum cleaning as that is very hard on a person. Please don't undo the good that has been done.
I am getting ready to fix lunch but wanted to come in here and read what you all have been posting.
We will be leaving here to go to Cheyenne at 5:30 or 6:00. Depends on what time Mike is able to get off.
I better get for now. Mike is due home in 30 minutes. Have a good day everyone!

Personal Life: Alone With God
And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His
disciples.
--John 6:3
Just prior to this miraculous multiplying of the bread and fish, Jesus
"went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples"(6:3). That
fact is noteworthy. It seems plain that Jesus withdrew purposely from
the great press of people who had been pursuing Him.
There are some things that you and I will never learn when others are
present. I believe in church and I love the fellowship of the
assembly. There is much we can learn when we come together on Sundays
and sit among the saints. But there are certain things that you and I
will never learn in the presence of other people.
Unquestionably, part of our failure today is religious activity that
is not preceded by aloneness, by inactivity. I mean getting alone
with God and waiting in silence and quietness until we are charged
with God's Spirit. Then, when we act, our activity really amounts to
something because we have been prepared by God for it....
Now, in the case of our Lord, the people came to Him, John reports,
and He was ready for them. He had been quiet and silent. He had sat
alone with His disciples and meditated. Looking upward, He waited
until the whole hiatus of divine life moved down from the throne of
God into His own soul. He was a violin tuned. He was a battery
recharged. He was poised and prepared for the people when they came.
Faith Beyond Reason, 130,133.
"Lord, I'll spend a lot of time in the company of people today, but
just now I come in quietness and silence to wait for You to fill

Just a quick hello for all of you :)

What I want to get is a lap counter as I am now using my fingers to keep track of the laps walked.
When i used to work out at the gym regularly ::), I found that carrying pennies worked. If i wanted to do 15 laps, I would wear shorts with pockets, and with every lap, I would put a penny from one pocket to another. Another idea is to get a matchbook and with every lap, simply fold one match down. Generally cheaper than lap counters. :P
IT'S FRIDAY. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!
I hope all of ya'll have a wonderful evening and weekdend.
HI all where is our Pat? Pat oh Pat where art thou?
One of the girls who stayed to take care of the dogs just called to check up on me and told me that all the food they left in my fridge was for me WOWwhat a surprise.
My fridge hasn't been that full in years and that is the truth> I have a whole bbq'ed chicken , salad makings 4lb brick of cheddar cheese. etc. etc. And this is from two 18 year olds. I am awe struck. I have never been treated so nice by anyone before. You may find that hard to believe but it is true.
that's all for this time I just wanted to share the good news with my family>
I'm going to Marilyn's for supper. Who do I need to pick up on the way/??? :P
As the old song said "Come on a my house" you young'uns may not remember that one. Doris Day sang it.
Oh Marilyn, this is it...
"The Fruits" of the spirit. Thank-you Lord Jesus for touching hearts towards dear Marilyn.
LuV U Sis.
Glad you are home.
God Bless, Jenny.

Sonja, I am so sorry to hear about your brother's stroke. Hopefully he will make good improvement. I had a stroke about six years ago and my right side was effected. But now I am doing fine with just that feeling that my arm and leg have gone to sleep.
Pat, I have always loved the song, "I must tell Jesus." Thanks for sharing it.
Ria, I am sorry to hear about the teacher who was shot by a student. It is sad to see violence like this and innocent people being killed for no reason at all. We have had a lot of this in America. I am hoping it will not happen again.
Ed, yes that is the idea. Keep reading and then read it again. And when you read ask God to help you understand. "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." (NIV)
Sarah, good luck in your game tonight. And remember that what is important is not whether you win or lose but how you play the game.
Janet, you are going to Honduras? Cornelia and I went to Guatemala for a month a few years ago.
Etta Sue, I had not heard you should not defrag XP and I did it a few weeks ago. It didn't cause any problems for me. People at the congregation where we worship are very generous with their giving. We have about a thousand present most Sundays. Our budget last year was over a million and a half and our giving went over the budget.
Marilyn, it is good to see you today. I hope you can get rid of that catheter. You have so much food in the fridge we may all show up for dinner.
Judy B., your story reminded me of an uncle who used to ask us which we would rather have a nickel or a dime. I remember his saying, "The nickel is bigger."
Karmat, we go to Florida every spring for a month. I swim every day. I have a bowl full of shells and each lap I take a shell out. That way I can keep up with the laps.

Hi Pat.....It was interesting seeing the blackbird who could see his breath in that cold morning! Thank you for the devotional this morning. It is good to get alone with the Saviour and wait at His feet.
Sonja....Sorry to hear about your brother. What an awful thing. I will surely be praying for him.
Hi Ruth Ann....I have 3 sons also. It is so good when they all get together. My 3 sons all have different personalities. Which is amazing when you think about it. They all come from the same mother and father and yet are different from each other. Hope your sons have a wonderful time together.
Nita, I'm so happy to hear that depression has lifted. Isn't it wonderful the way the Lord makes Himself known to us in little ways and big ways and if we ask to feel His presence, He will give it. God Bless
Hi Jenny....I love lavender also. I have a vanilla candle in my bedroom. I light it at night and love the smell also.
Hi Ria... You have rain and we have snow and cold. Oh well, spring is just around the corner.
Eddie....What you might do if you don't understand a part of the scripture is get an NIV version or the Living Bible which is a little easier. Look there to the portion you have trouble with and sometimes the answer pops up.
Janet.. Have a great time in Honduras. God Bless
Etta Sue...I know what it's like to have cats running and chasing each other around. Especially when the weather is cold outside. They are wonderful company though.
Marilyn....So glad you are feeling better. Get lots of rest though. Don't overdo it.
Judy....Interesting, funny story.
Chris, I enjoyed your devotional. It is true nothing takes the place of being in the presence of the Saviour.
Papa John.....God bless you.
Love Ruthie :D
Well, here I am, Marilyn!
I've been resting a lot today. Then I took a friend to the store. It was so cold out there.
I wanted to do some other errands but I just hurried home into the warmth.
Etta Sue, here's a URL for you to have a look at. I don't have Windows XP but this tells you about defragging with it. http://thepcyoubuy.com/scandiskXP.htm
What an interesting post, Ruthie!
It's so good to see you all posting. Let's encourage the ones who have registered but never posted to come in and get to know us.
Talk to you in awhile.
I sure will be missing Janet and Soni! But I hope that they have a wonderful time while they are away.

I'm just "skipping" to page 4 here to say Hi and Bye. I feel chilly.,so I'm going to snuggle down into my bed with the electric mattress warmer!
But... I did want to tell Sonja that I will be praying for her brother.... and for you and your family too, dear Sonja!
all my love and prayers..... Judy (((hugs)))
Oh... Papa John: Where would I find that scripture verse you mentioned in your previous post??... thanks... - Judy
Jeanne: you always make each welcome so unique and beautiful.
Pat how are you feeling?
Hello Ruthie, Nita, Jane, Lee,Larry Al, Chris Iain, Margit Jenny, Ria, Karma, Nards, (mieka, Janet and Soni are traveling) I know I have left out some, let me see now, Judy Mc, Judyb,Ruth,Kathy, Liz, Ruth Jen, Paulette, Sue, Rachelle, ok that's all can remember right now and that was pretty good. Dontcha think?
Well I have started tearing strips for the quilt top, I am going to sew the strips together and then cut squares. Actually I think this would be a duvet since it is going to cover a comforter than is getting thin.
Time to get off again before mhy back and shoulder start huting, I have discovered that Ibuprophen works the best for the pain.
Latah
Marilyn, thanks for your comments about the welcome graphics I post. I have quite a few templates and like to vary them. ;D
We made it today! It got up to +5 this afternoon - for a few minutes. We're heading into a slightly milder time and then it starts back down again next Wednesday or Thursday with more below zero temps. But that's OK. The days are getting a little longer and when the sun shines it has a little more warmth to it and the Lord has provided us with a snug little trailer - and plenty of blankets. ;D
I just had to come on to ask Marilyn (me being one of the older 'uns) if you're sure it was Doris Day who sang, "Come on a my house". I'm hearing Rosemary Clooney. :) I hadn't thought of that song in a long, LONG time. haha I have a big pot of fresh vegetable soup, so I could bring that. I was going to make it last night, but decided on today. If I see you on the road, Karma, shall I stop and pick you up? :)
Pat, snuggle down and stay warm. I was glad to read that you were actually resting. :)
Jeanne, glad that you have a nice warm place too......and plenty of blankets. :)
Judy, you too, honey. I didn't realize I was telling so many to stay warm. Lots of cold weather everywhere. I hope your chilliness goes away when you get a snuggly with your electric mattress warmer. It's not cold at all where I am. I almost feel guilty. haha I just saw on the news that it was 71 today in Phoenix, where my oldest daughter is.
Hi dear Ria. I really like the little encouraging poems you post. I'm so sad to hear that there is violence in the schools there now. Violence seems to be over the whole earth. It just gets worse, doesn't it? Our God and Father is still on the throne, and He has always known these days would come. I always pray for our kids everywhere. Keep warm!
Hi Ruthie! :)
Have a great trip Soni and Janet. I guess you're gone already?
My grandaughter, Angel, is wanting me to listen to her new CD with her, so gotta go and check it out. Have a blessed weekend everyone. :D
Want to go to the Dentist with me?

;D ;)
Judy, is this the verse you were asking about?
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Have finished reading today's posts and feel so happy to be back on-line again. Surely did miss CP the past while...
The kids went to Victoria today and I did housework and organized a few things. Still getting settled in my new home. Feels strange after 13 years in another home. Sort of like being in Limbo...not certain where I really belong yet.
Wendy keeps bringing me down food as she seems to be afraid I won't eat if left alone. Nice to have company on a regular basis...tho' does feel a little strange.
They left that 'darn cat' Perkins in the Family Room to toast his whiskers by the gas heater. He simply loves that heater and either sits and stares at it or curls up in his bed and sleeps with great contentment. I have been up to check on him and he gives a meow and more or less tells me to 'get lost.' Wendy thinks that he is getting Senile in his older years as he now goes places once feared to tread. Like the Living Room or Ralph's office. I said that he can't obey the rules if he can't remember them! Can certainly relate to that!
I am going to e-mail you a couple of pictures Pat. Hope they turn out. Will study about posting them myself when this tiredness passes. Suddenly feel every day of my many birthdays. Gad...how the years do fly.
Have purchased 'The Purpose Driven Life' and will start on it next week. Looking forward to learning what everyone is talking about.
So good to read your posts Papa John. I get much comfort out of what you write.
Also a thanks to Fast Eddie for the Christian Sites. I checked and they are great.
Will close now and see about trying to get the pictures e-mailed. Also must go and check on the cat. He looks so innocent. Oh, the kids are home. Can forget about him now!!
God Bless and pleasant dreams. Liz.
Hey, Liz... I'm so happy to see you posting. No lurking allowed zone here! LOL
I wanted to tell you I saw your granddaughter online earlier but I don't think she posted.
Isn't this a good thing to do? Let's all make a practice of Kneeling at the Cross...

Kneel at the Cross (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/kneel-at-the-cross.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confesss that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11
by Charles. E. Moody
Kneel at the cross,
Christ will meet you there,
Come while he waits for you;
List to his voice,
Leave with him your care
And begin life a new.
Refrain
Kneel at the cross,
Leave every care
Kneel at the cross,
Jesus will meet you there.
Kneel at the cross,
Give your idols up,
Look unto realms above;
Turn not away
To life's sparkling cup;
Trust only in His love.
Refrain

We have been staying away from the computer - awaiting several phone calls.
I bought three new study books at a newly-opened Christian Book Store and will tell you about them later - no time this day with company & other errands.
Nita: Are you serving veggie soup? I could eat that for breakfast.... Save some for me.
Sonja must be nearing Cheyenne now and I hope that it doesn't snow there as there will be some snow in the foothills tonight.
Carol
Well it is finally warmer up here in the frigid north. It is only minus 18*C not minus 30 plus. There seems to be a warm streach coming from the west and we are in line for it. I certainly hope so. I was speaking to a friend and she was saying her wood furnace wasn't able to keep up either. This cold is just to penetrating. A lot of people are having their water pipes freexe up, Doug was out to his in-laws tonight to thaw water pipes for them. We had that problem last year and Heather's hubby worked on them for us.
Well I am off to bed, I have praise team tomorrow and Melaura may be taking over for a friend who is sick. We will know for sure about that tomorrow.
Night all
JudyB
Time to lock the door.
Glad to hear that you're a bit warmer up there, Judy.
