Morning Devotional...

And He said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest.
Genesis 22:2

Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
Ruth 1:14

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13

The love of Abraham for Isaac was great and the love of Ruth for Naomi was deeply touching.

However they pale into insignificance when brought alongside the love of the Lord for each of us.

No love can compare with His for He loved us when we were His enemies. He still loves us and will continue to love us.

How good it is to know that daily we can rest in His complete affection.
--John M. Clegg

O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
'Twould take ages to explore
But a drop of all this ocean
or a grain from off its shore.
--S. T. Francis

O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/ebenezer.mpga)
(Click to hear music)

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:39

Author:  S. Trevor Francis, 1834-1925
Musician:  Thomas John Williams, 1869-1944

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
in its fullness over me!
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of Thy love
Leading onward, leading homeward
to Thy glorious rest above!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
spread His praise from shore to shore!
How he loveth, ever loveth,
changeth never, nevermore!
How he watches o'er His loved ones,
died to call them all His own;
How for them intercedeth,
watcheth o'er them from the throne!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
love of every love the best!
'Tis an ocean full of blessing,
'tis a haven giving rest!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
'tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory,
for it lifts me up to Thee!

GOOD MORNING 10.40AM in Holland

PAT thank you for the devotional this morning and the nice hymn. It is good to hear in the morning. I am sorry to hear that you have lost a friend my prayers are for you.

HI MIEKA nice to see you. I love you my dear (((((((((HUGS))))))

On this moment it is dry in Holland the sun is shining no rain on this moment but it is 2*C.
Last summer i have writen that we have had a great dryness then we have had to many rain.
But now there is fallen to much rain the last weeks.
In the rivers, channels and the ponds there is too much
water. Now we have flooding.
In Holland we always must fight against the water.
And we have a lot rivers and canals and in Veendam where i live there are a lot little ponds. Dangerous when you have little children.
In Holland there is a lot transport going by ships about the water.
But this evening we shall have snow showers. But that is also being water.

JOHN 10:4
When we has brought out all his own,
he goes on ahead of them,
and his sheep follow him.

THE SHADOW OF HIS CARE

There is nowhere we can go
that God has not been there before us -
we walk always in the shadow
of His presence and His care.

I wish you all a Blessed day
Bye love Ria :)

Mieka. "Joy cometh in the morning" and you are such a joy.

Yes dear Mieka, please read "The Heavenly Man" when you get home.I have wept many tears reading this wonderful man's story. He suffered much torture for His witness to the true Christian faith and his belief in the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. You may even be able to meet dear Brother Yun. His home town is Nanyang.

God bless you dear One.
I love you.

What a wonderful thing to see MEIKA posting here again.  She is like the sunshine after the rain.
God bless you dear one.

We are COLD today (20 degrees).  Will dress warm..not professional.

Thanks, Pat, for the morning devotionals.  I had to go back and catch up for the last 2 days.

I've been playing the "Just as I Am" medley and then
this morning's Deep Love of Jesus!  How merciful He is to a sinner such as I!

Everyone have a blessed day, filled with His goodness and mercy to all.

in His love,     kathy

Personal Life: Personal Discipline

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives
the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who
competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to
obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
--1 Corinthians 9:24-25

Another trap into which the preacher is in danger of falling is that
he may do what comes naturally and just take it easy. I know how
ticklish this matter is and, while my writing this will not win me
friends, I hope it may influence people in the right direction. It is
easy for the minister to be turned into a privileged idler, a social
parasite with an open palm and an expectant look. He has no boss
within sight; he is not often required to keep regular hours, so he
can work out a comfortable pattern of life that permits him to loaf,
putter, play, doze and run about at his pleasure. And many do just
that.

To avoid this danger the minister should voluntarily impose upon
himself a life of labor as arduous as that of a farmer, a serious
student or a scientist. No man has any right to a way of life less
rugged than that of the workers who support him. No preacher has any
right to die of old age if hard work will kill him.  God Tells the
Man Who Cares, 94-95.

"Lord, I entered the ministry not because I considered it an easy or
prestigious job. I'm here because I was called, compelled, and
committed. Help me to work hard and faithfully today, driven by that
original sense of passion. Amen."

Good morning, folks!

Another beautiful poem, Ria! Thank you!  I am sorry it is flooding there.  I just can't believe how caotic your weather is.  snow and then rain...wow!  Hope it settles for awhile so you all can get a break.

Pat, I am sorry to hear about your close friend.  I will keep you in my prayers today.  Love you! (((hug)))

Hi Mieka!  I think that is the longest post ever.  You sure had a lot to say.   ;D  I love the picture you sent me.  I will treasure it forever.  Thanks for your prayers, sister!

Thank you, Jenny.  You are also in my prayers too.  Have a good day.

Hi Chris and Margit!

Morning Kathy!  20 F is cold, but better the 0 F...brrrss..be careful if there is ice.

My Agenda for the Day

1)Get some(30) pictures ready for print.  That should take awhile.

2)Post in the Purpose Driven Life forum.

3)Get a print mailed to a friend.

4)Do the usual running around with the kids.

This is so kewl, guys! We might be studying the "Purpose Driven Life"   book at our church in 2 weeks when the other is done.  I sure hope they vote on it.

They also voted the new Pastor in.  He will be moved down here on the 22 of February.

I have an interesting question.
What does the phrase "Kingdom of God" in this verse:
"Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle then for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Luke 18:25
mean to you?
I hope to get everyones answer on this then I will tell you what my pastor said about it.

Galatians 2:21
"I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"

The Kingdom of God is wherever Jesus is...If you have accepted Him as Saviour, He lives within you...He said "My Kingdom is not of this World" John 18:36.Christians are already living in His Kingdom.

"Ye are they which have continued with me in My temptations and I appoint unto you a Kingdom, as My Father hath apointed unto Me." Luke 22:28-29

"Little flock it is the Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom" Luke 12;32

"We are heirs of the Kingdom which He promised" James 2:5

"We shall be translated into the Kingdom of His Son" Col 1:13

"Ours is a Kingdom that cannot be moved" Heb 12:28

"But as in Adam all die even so in Christ shall all be made alive...every man in his own order. Christ the firstfruits; afterwards they that are Christ's at His coming. Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the 'Kingdom' to God, even the father;

And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then  shall the Son also Himself  be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all."  1 Cor 15:22-28 abrg...

Jesus brought in the Kingdom of Heaven...He carried it back to us and He alone is Baptiser in Holy Spirit.

"Father I will that they also whom Thou hast given me be with me where I am; that they may behold My Glory which thous hast given Me before the foundation of the World...

"It is expedient for You that I go away: for if I go not away the Comforter will not come unto you: but if I depart I will send Him unto you." John 16:7

St. Thomas, Jesus foster brother or cousin ( most probably His brother) recounts Jesus saying "The Kingdom is at your centres".

This Life is a part of the journey back home and Jesus sent the Holy spirit to reveal Truths to us about Himself and our Heavenly Home..these truths are in our hearts, when we go to be woth Him we shall live in the Kingdom of Heaven for real, now we have a foretaste of good things to come...so we Christians are Living in the Kingdom of Heaven.......Kingdom of God.

Jesus told Pilate "My Kingdom is not of this world.." John 18:36

"The Eye of the Needle " is a rock formation in Israel,it has a very narrow opening and camels used to go around it rather than through it. Jesus was not against riches as such, just where they could prevent a soul from coming to God.  The rich young ruler was so accustomed to the good things of this world that he was not prepared to give them up for Jesus.

The Lord doesn't always request that His followers reject wealth.  some have wisdom in their use of riches and use them for the Glory of God. The Young Ruler was obsessed with his position and wealth and couldn't, just couldn't let go. It was too hard for him. A Camel would find it easier to traverse the "Eye of the Needle".

Soni

It's not the relinquishing of wealth or worldly goods that counts with God....just the refusal to place Him upon the Throne of our lives.  He doesn't take material goods away from all His children, in fact He sometimes gives great riches to those who will distribute wisely.

A Complete act of the Will.

That's why Jesus was so sad about the Young Ruler.  He could see the future of that man...a future in which he had rejected God!

I love you sis.

Good Morning Such wonderful posts to read this morning. Chris, Pat Jenny your devotions great as always. Thank you so much.

Soni and Karma, I don't remember which of you has Picture it,. I spent a good deal of time yesterday trying to install it on this computer and kept getting a 1305 error message telling me some file didn't exist. It is so confusing because it installed so easy on my old computer with Windows 98. I am wondering if it is a Windows XP thing. I can get another CD easy enough though. Does either of you have XP and Can Nards tell me what's up?

I am going to the doctor today and IF my paycheck is in the mail I am also going to see about a chiropractor about the pain in my neck /soulder/elbow/wrist. I am also going to visit with Bea today and take her to the store, and pick up her mail for her. After I come back home I will work on sewing pieces for the duvet.

TRUST AND OBEY (http://members.rogers.com/scott4275/sounds/trustobey.mid)[/u]
(Click to hear music)

When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.

(Refrain)

But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.

(Refrain)

Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.

(Refrain)

Hi Marilyn! It is I who has picture it.   I  have windows XP and I didn't have a problem installing it on my my computer.  I wonder if it is your CD?  To find out you could take it to a friends house and try to install in on their computer.
I do know this that when I bought some children programs and tried to install them, they would have an error note come up.  It was the CD not my computer.
Good luck!

Chris............

"Might not win friends?"  MY brother, preachers ARE the major problem in the church today.  Too many fail to preach "Sin", and they do as you just said, they try to win friends by being man pleasers.  No Chris, you are on target.  Warm fuzzies don't win converts.  Man must hate his sin and long for a Savior.  Did not our Lord say, "Few will enter by the narrow gate"?, and that many (MOST) will take the broad road that leads to destruction (the wide gate).  We Christians are positively in the minority, and will be, through to the last day.  Loved your thoughts Chris, and you are a fella that calls it straight.  Blessed are those who sit at the feet of righteous Bible based, gospel teaching pastors.

Marilyn............

Just my opinion little lady, but you most likely DON'T need a chiropractor, you need an MRI before a chiropractor touches you.  There is a [possibility] you might have bone spurs, or arthritist.  Don't take chances with this vulnerable area.

A quick Hi and a "thank you" for help getting me back on line.

Missed getting in.

I must go back and check out postings --seem to be "out of
loop" when I am not here.

Just read Tenderheart's postings and mention Judy Mc going to visit Charles Stanley --have to check back and read where that posting is.

Try and not miss Charles Stanley preachings --they really hit home --in fact, this weekend was the first time that I felt uncomfortable with one of his messages.
(I guess the good LORD was letting me know where I have to "shape up")

His message was on wasting time and I know that my mind wanders and I do waste time--of course, I rationalize and say that I am resting but I wonder if I should be doing more with my spare time.

More to glorify HIS name.

Nita, dear, every time you post I say "Lord , how does she know that that is what I am thinking??

I am so pleased to see you here.

I must go around and play "catch up"

see you all later,

Love in Christ,
Joyce

Subject: The Perfect Couple

Once upon a time, a perfect man and a perfect woman met. After a perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding.  Their life together was, of course, perfect.

One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple was driving their perfect car along a winding road, when they noticed someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple, they stopped to help.  There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not wanting to disappoint any children on the eve of Christmas, the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys.  Unfortunately, the driving conditions deteriorated and the perfect couple and Santa Claus had an accident. Only one of them survived the accident.  Question: Who was the survivor? (Scroll down for the answer.)

Answer: The perfect woman survived. She's the only one who really existed in the first place. Everyone knows there is no Santa Claus and there is no such thing as a perfect man.

So, if there is no perfect man and no Santa Claus, the woman must have been driving. This explains why there was a car accident.

Pat, sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.

Hello CPers!

Kevin, my step-grandson came last evening around 5 pm and by 11 pm, my new and improved computer was up and running.  Even though I now have Windows XP, it still took about 6 hours of Windows Updating.  But now I have my email up and going and the internet.  Kevin is good.  But in about a month, I will have him return and tell me what else I can do with this new contraption!!  He said something about talking to WORD and it would type the message.  I think that could be done with emails also.  I sure could have used that when my arm was hurting so much.

My arm....well, I was aware of a little pain while driving to church Sunday.  Since then, no pain.   ::) ::)I even cleaned house yesterday and moved furniture around.  No pain.  But I am going for the injection Thursday anyway.  Even I could tell there was something different in the x-rays from the MRI.  Marilyn, a Chiropractor wouldn't have fixed my pain.  I have arthritis and degeneration.  Why it doesn't hurt now, I don't know unless the anti-inflammatory medication kicked in.

Mieka ~ Gosh, I was in such a hurry, I almost forgot you.  And that would have made you giggle!!!!  Next time, I will forget you and you can giggle all you want.  But this time....no giggling.  I do wish I could talk to you on IM.  But I have to find it again on this new pc!!!  I love you, little one!!!

Tonight is our small groups Bible study.  Plus I need a few things at the grocery that I forgot Sunday.  So I had better get outta here!!!

Yeh, Larry, I guess it will bounce back at me, but,
I just wanted to illustrate that only God is perfect, and that He is not Santa Claus, and that if the women forgive me, well it will show grace in action!
And if you believe that!!! :)

Thank You for the the wonderful scripture today. It is so wonderful to think of how much God loves us. It's hard to comprehend because when I think of how much we love our children it's so strange to think of God loving us a hundred times more!!! It is fantastic and so great though. Hello to everyone that said hi and thank you for the wonderful welcome!!!

God Bless You All,

Megan

chris, you said something????  haha

Marilyn, though I go to the chiro-cracker occassionally, I only let him adjust after he did thorough xrays.  Is this a problem you ahve had before.

Soni -- I believe the Kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom.  You and I are sisters in Christ.  We are in that kingdom.  We have never met, we are not "kin" (that I know of), yet we have a "blood bond."  I think it could also be our eternal kingdom, as well.

Thinking of you Pat!

HEY ZACHERY!!!

It's so good to see you!  The pop ups maybe are coming from another window you have open?  There's none on this site.  It's so good to see you back on that fixed computer!

Tell TROY that we're all so proud of him and his accomplishments!  I was thinking of you all in Cheyenne this weekend.

Hello Everyone!

It's been a long day.  But in many ways it was so nice to see old friends and have a visit with them.  Sad that the reason that brought us together was a death but so wonderful that my friend was a believer and is now in His presence.

Thanks so much for all the posting today.  I won't mention you all but I'm so thankful for you all.  Thanks for the lovely hymns, SONI!  I'm sitting here singing!

I'm going to leave early in the morning with Judy McKenna and Terena's mother to go to hear Charles Stanley speak in Burlington, Ontario so I will close this topic early tonight just so that you know.

I'll be back later.

Marilyn - Please take Lee's advice... have an MRI before you see a chiropractor.  We know a lady who has much the same neck and shoulder pain that you describe.  She went to a chiropractor....she had a stroke following the "treatment", and she is now suing!

Please, please, Marilyn... give this some thought!

A very warm welcome to our new members....Wad and Donna.  also to Megan... I neglected to welcome you as well!

Did anyone listen to the President's State of the Union address?  Excellent, I thought!  I respect this man so much.  He has such high morals!  Every leader should be so strong in their beliefs.

Pat..........

Please forgive me for mising your post on losing your friend.  I'm sorry to hear of your loss, but not of her/his gain. I went to a funeral three days ago and the widow claimed to be a Christian and attends the church that held the services.  Her husband was a fireman and there was a large attendance by police and firefighters.  The widow got up and spoke for 40 minutes and at the end of her speech she completely blew Christianity out the window.

Wow Lee I bet you were shocked when you heard that women at the funeral.

I go to a Chiropractor who uses an activator.   It is an instrument  that is very gentle.   This kind of chiroprator is called "advanced proficiency"   No problem with me.   I need to go every week.

Hi Lee...

Thanks so much...
I'm sorry about your experience recently.  This is sad.

Yes, this lady was a wonderful sister in the Lord.  When we moved to Guelph and then started to attend Milton Gospel Hall, she was one of the first to welcome me and she took such an active part in the Ladies Coffee Hour.  She's going to be missed so much.

I guess it's just difficult too since the timing of this is so close to the date of Jack's burial...

Lee, how's the friend of yours that got baptised recently?

That's the best type of chiropractic care, Ruthie.  Ours here in Guelph uses that system as well.  It's the high neck manipulation that causes the damage if any is done.  I've got rid of lots and lots of pain over the years with the help of my chiropractor.

Well, I hope to post earlier tomorrow.   The Spritual Life Conference is on at Peoples Church, so I've been busy.

Goodnight everyone.

God Bless

Ruthie ;)

The activator is my friend.  My chiro-cracker does the full manipulation thingy on my lower back (hey, when one hip is a couple of inches higher than the other, the activator just won't do it), but the activator on my neck, if needed.

I've just received in my email, Mario Bruno's latest "Email Garlic Post" from Italy.

Here's a link to it[/u] (http://christianphotographers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=1390)

Wow Pat, that is wonderful to hear from Mario.    Mario went to bible college with Kamyl my brother in law and missionary to Mauritius for 20 years.

I saw Mario and his wife before they went back to Italy this past fall.

Will go into the link and read what he has to say.  I will tell Kamyl to have a look also.

Love Ruthie

I knew you'd be interested, Ruthie!  ;)

Now, since I'm going to be hearing Charles Stanley in the morning with Judy McKenna, I must get to bed as we have a very early start from Guelph.

I'll talk to you all when I get home.

Here's your link to tomorrow's topic!  Let's all make sure that Donna feels really welcome here at "CP"!
