Morning Devotional...

Though Moses and Samuel stood before Me, yet My mind could not be toward this people.
Jeremiah 15:1

Although at this juncture in the history of the children of Israel there was no way back, this verse indicates the influence that godly men had on the Almighty.

God will listen and God will respond to our petitions if they are genuine, persistent, and in keeping with His plan.

If only we believed it.

Did you ever wonder why Moses was chosen to lead the children of Israel to the land, and Samuel, amid difficult circumstances, helped keep them there? They were men that constantly prayed for the people.

Do you?

--Brian Russell

Make me an intercessor
In spirit-touch with Thee,
And given the heavenly vision,
Pray through to victory!

Beginning Algebra I don't mind.....it's when the course started to get into calculus that I minded, and gave up on....twice!  Have fun!  Math is concurrable...I just chose not to!

Hahahhaahaa... Sue, I got a good laugh from this.  I sure hope it gets easier for us unstead of harder, but i am sure we can handle the challenge.  My son Troy already knows most of it.  He is sort of teaching Zachery and I.
Thanks for noticing! (((hug)))

Karmat~That is good news about your doctor, but bad news that you have to look for another.  I sure hope you find someone as good as he to take his place.

About that question the other day that you answered for me.  The Pastor of our church pretty much said the same thing.  I didn't realize that is what it meant.  I was thinking it was heaven.  Goes to show how much I know about the bible.  I am learning though.

Thanks for answer! (((hug)))

QuoteBy Ruthie~Sonji.... I take Barley Life.  It is the powder of green barley leaves, also Proancynol, an antioxidant, and Bear Paw Garlic.  These products are from AIM Int.  from the States.  The Barley Green Powder is grown in Alberta, Canada.  I really believe in them.  They help with colds and flu and other sicknesses.  If you or anyone would like the phone number just ask me.

HI Ruthie! Thanks, I would love to hear more about this product.  I am a vitamin nut anyway and to get this in my hands would just top it off.  Thanks for the info and concern.  (((hug)))

Pat, I sometimes forget, but I pray every chance I get or when I remember.  I do get reminded when I hear an ambulance of fire truck.  My family will bow our heads and pray for these folks.  I would like it if they would do that for me if I were in the situation.
Thanks for the devotion.  I sure miss you!

Boots............

You will find the Canadians to be very sociable and polite to visitors.  BUT, I suggest you brush-up on your EH?

Pat.............

We have umpteen video and audio tapes of Stanley.  Vivian and I sat for two nights in a row watching our visit to Irael (four hours).  I'd love to go back tomorrow.  Tell you how you can make the trip Pat.  Get twenty people to go with you and you go free.

Lila Mae said her first 4 word sentence tonight.  She was speaking to her bear bears and had just gone poopy.  She said, "dare is poopy in dare" I had to laugh because she was really speaking to her animal.  She is so cute.  It is so funny how they are so proud of the simple things they do.

I just got from dance and that was fun.  We had a surprise guest from Jackson, Wy. come teach us a class on modern dance.  It was unique.  I like it.  We were seperated into groups of 4 and had to make a movement with our bodies to make a letter.  I picked F.  We then had to show the rest of the class what we created.  I would love to take a modern dance class, but unfortunatly they don't do that here.

Tomorrow won't be as busy as today.  Maybe I can get some stuff done around the house.

I better get, 5:00am comes around pretty quick.

Nite all

Good Afternoon.

A few snippets of wisdom from grand-children for you:-

Grandparents

Gran's always have something up their sleeve...like boiled sweets!

A grandmother is kind and doesn't like half pences and other small change - she gives us them quite happily.

A Granny is jolly and when she laughs a 'warmness' spreads over you.

My Grandpa used to rough and tumble with my brother but now both of them are past it.

I thought Dad was rather old until I met Grandpa

My Gt.Grandad has a habit of buying me sweets and then eating them.

When she is sitting by herself she looks old and lonely. But when she has company she looks young again.

God bless
Jenny.

Jenny~That is cute!  I love grandparents.  My daughter got a ton of change from my dad when we were down visiting.  She now has a little purse full of change.  She loves it!  She told my dad that she wanted to stay there forever. That put a big smile on his face.  ;D  Thanks for sharing that.

Am I the only early bird in the states???

WELCOME RUDI!!!

Short night.  But I did wake at 4 am and fixed me something to eat since I am not to have food or water 6 hours prior to arriving at the medical center.  I am tired and my neck, shoulder blade and arm hurts some today...probably due to the time I spent on the computer yesterday.  I have no idea how long this procedure will be but I know I will be fine.  Just something that I have never had done before and am praying that it will take care of the pain and I never have to have it done again!!!

Pat, when I get things straightened out, I may just ask if you have certain fonts.  Mostly the ones for my PSP lessons...in case I want to do some of them again.  I think they 'close' those lessons after the lessons are done.

8:40 AM, Roatan, Honduras.

Good morning!!  I miss you guys!  :-*  The sun is out here today, first time in three days.  It has been cloudy and rainy, and a little cool.  *The locals are about to freeze, they say!  Say they think it may snow any minute!*  Hahaha.

I'm having a good time, the diving is good, but the visibility should be better today than it has been.  Unfortunately, today Darrel doesn't want to go diving, so I am at loose ends as to what to do.  I think I may catch a cab into town and look around a little bit.

We did a night dive last night.  Saw some neat  critters...an octopus, some really BIG crabs, several basket stars, eels, lots of lobsters, and a sleeping fish\!  And yes, I did have my camera along!  So far, I have taken eight rolls of film, and quite a few digital pics above water.   So I hope to have some good shots to share.

I want to check my messages, so anyway, hope everyone is doing well, no time to read all the posts at 25c per minute! ;D

Oh, I do want to share with you all how God is protecting me on this trip.  Last night, my weight belt fell off!!  Very bad news, especially if you are at any depth at all!  Because you can go to the surface like a rocket and risk a lung injury.  But God was watching, as \He always is, and the divemaster was right there.he grabbed me and yanked me back down as \I started to zoom to the surface, got the belt, and we finally wer able to get it back on.  Not easy in the dark and the surge was bad.  I have no idea how or why the belt came undone, it has never happened before in all my almost 300 dives.  God is so Good..All the time!!

Later, Kiddos!

Lee....
Your suggestion sounds wonderful.   I'm sure we could get 20 people from CP to go on a trip somewhere together.

Sonja...the dance class you are in sounds like a lot of fun and probably great exercise too.   I remember my kiddies when they were small like Lila Mae.   Such a little sweetheart.

Ria....
so sorry that you are not feeling well.   I take yogurt when my stomach hurts.   I know some drugs are hard on our stomachs.   There should be something to calm down the lining of your stomach.

Jenny....That is so interesting to read about half pence and sweets.   In Canada we don't have half pence.   The lowest is a penny.  They are made of copper.   I find them on the ground sometimes.   It is true our grandchildren would love these things.

Etta Sue....
I will be praying for you today while you go to the medical centre.   Hope this clears up all the pain you are having.

Well, I will check in again after work tonight.   Everyone have a wonderful blessed day!

Love Ruthie

Days Of Praise
Jan. 22, 2004
[/b]"For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again" (II Corinthians 5:14-15).

There are many motivating reasons for serving the Lord. One, of course, is His many merciful blessings on our behalf. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).

Then there is the incentive of rewards: "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be" (Revelation 22:12). There are also many rewards even in this present life for dedicated Christian service: "Godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come" (I Timothy 4:8).

The great need of the lost is also a tremendous motivation for Christian service. This was the burden of Paul: "For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more" (I Corinthians 9:19).

But surely the greatest of all motives is the constraining love of Christ. Not our love for Him, which is poor and weak at best, but His love for us. This is the constraining compulsion which makes us live and love and witness for Him. Because He loved us so much, therefore we no longer live for ourselves, but unto Him, who died for us.

As our text notes, if Christ died for all, that can only mean that "all were dead" or, more literally, "all died." Therefore, if we live, it is because we have been "bought with a price" (I Corinthians 6:20), the terrible price of the never-equaled suffering and the uniquely cruel death of the sinless Son of man. "For to me to live is Christ" (Philippians 1:21). HMM

Hi everyone and a special   Weclome to Rudi.

I got up early this morning and went to the "Y" and got my walking done before coffee at the cafe.  Came home with the idea of getting a lot done on the computer but it just hasn't happened.  Have been busy but little to show for it.

Etta Sue, I really don't have any suggestions on fonts as have never added any to what comes as a normal part of windows.  However, I am certain you could probably find a great many if you just did a Google search on fonts.  I also noted your comment about having to redo your address book.  Are you aware that you can export your address book to a file and thus have a backup copy that can later be imported?  You can do the same thing with your bookmarks or favorites.   Hope you medical appointment for the pain shot has gone well today.

Janet, you certainly had a scare last evening and it does appear that God was watching out for you as the other person could have been looking away and not quickly noticed your plight.  Glad to hear you are having such a good time and will look forward to seeing the pictures.

Sonja, sure glad you are teaching the algebra and not me.  I made it through algebra and geometry in high school thanks to a very fine teacher.  Fortunately only a statistics course was required for my college degree.  My daughter has been taking pre-algebra and now algebra as a part of her college work.  Glad that Troy can help you with it.

Boots, glad to see you posting again and to know you had such a nice trip to England.  Tell us a bit more about your Bible Study course, if you will.  I have just started a Bible Study course on the End Times that I found available on the Internet.  Have completed the first lesson and am awaiting the second one.

Ria, sorry to hear that your medicine is causing you stomach problems and hope that the doctor can now clear that up by changing your medicines.

Liz, you and your family have certainly had an ordeal.  Hope all these things soon get straighted out and you all can relax a bit.  Glad you are enjoying your new home.  I think I would be filing a formal complaint with Staples beyond that local store location.

Guess I had better sign off for now and read the rest of the CP discussions that I follow.

A  quick "hi" to all and a great big''

Praise The Lord 'for HIS help in my needs at this time.

I was surprised but again I heard the little voice --not in your time but in my timing and , boy, today, did HE ever deliver!!

Praise HIS Name.

Boots, thanks for taking the time to share.
Love hearing how others celebrate the blessed event.

I, too, feel this is the year when my concentration on the LORD's word will be stronger and stronger.
Feel it in my bones!!

Speaking of bones, dear RIA, so sad that you are having problems. I know that when I take my osteo medication (once a week) I try to be careful what I eat the rest of day.  No citrus fruit or drinks because of the acidity it creates.

suggestion on the yoguart is excellant--great source of calicum, too.
Also take yoquart when I am on antibiotics because the natural bacteria helps with the digestion and not create other problems.

I, too, am a health nut--take Shakelee vitamins, like the natural way they make them.
I, too, would be interested in Barley Leaf.

Funny, how Charles Stanley's messages this month is on our self awareness of the Lord -- and this week
his message will concentrate on how we take care of our bodies.-

Anxiouos to hear that message.

Will be heading to prayer forum,

See you later,

Love in Christ,
Joyce

Sonja, I have been interested in the fact that you are home schooling.  Our daughter, Rachel, has home schooled her three children.  She has taken the first two all the way through the twelve grades and they are now in college.  Her youngest one continues and is now 13 years old.  At first I wasn't sure about their decision but it has really worked well for them.

In the 31st chapter of Proverbs in the description of a virtuous woman the inspired writer said:  She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.  She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:  (NIV)

Hi everyone

Lee thanks for the advice I will start using the ( eh) as much as possible.  So you really think I will need it...eh! ;D ;D

Larry good to know you got the walk in before the coffee break.   ;D ;D

The Bible study I am in is named BSF International.  The BSF stands for Bible Study Fellowship.  The Headquarters is located in San Antonio, Texas.  The study is segregated for men only and women only and now they have a children's study for both boys and girls.

There are many of these studies located in many cities in several countries.  The men always meet on Monday night, and always have the same study lesson.  If you are away from your city and will be in a city that has BSF you can go to that one, in fact you are expected to attend.  The women have day classes and night classes and have the same study lesson as the men.

The BSF was started many years ago, I think in the early 1960's by A. Wetherell Johnson who was a returning Missionary and some ladies wanted her to start a Bible Study.  She said she would, but the ladies would study the word and would come to talk seriously about the Bible.  They would have assignments for each of the 6 days plus notes to read she had written for the prior weeks lesson.

God got into this in a big way and it has now spread to many locations.  It is free for any one of any denomination to participate.  They do ask for free will offerings to cover the cost of the use of the meeting place (most meetings are held in Churches willing to provide the rooms needed) and the cost of the printing of the lessons.  We have many that give regularly to the expenses of the headquarters both financially and by going down and working a week or two.

The meetings are all organized the same.  We meet at 7 PM in a large group for two songs, announcements and prayer by the Lecturer.  We then go to our assigned classes usually about 12 men where a Leader leads us in discussion of the 6 study lessons of the week.  We then gather back in assembly at 8 PM for the 30 minutes of lecture on the Lessons.  We currently have over 150 men meeting every Monday night.

There are 7 different studies, so it takes 7 years to complete the entire group of lessons.

I wrote all this and then it dawned on me, you can get better information on their web site.  :-[ :-[
So I went to Google and got it.
Here it is.

Joyce You mentioned a desire to concentrate more on the word, BSF might have something in your area.

I would recommend it for anyone wanting to get into a study and fellowship with others that wants to learn more about our God.

Now on a lighter note.  The below web site features Elvis (you all remember and know about Elvis)  Click on the site, turn up your sound and sing along.

Sorry this is more for us older folks, but you others can click, you will probably be old some day.  ;D ;D

Yippee  I get to go to Walmart tomorrow. Willa and I were going to go to Eureka to shop tomorrow but she called a little while ago and asked if I wanted to go to Crescent City.

That is where the nearest WalMart is located. So Willa and her daughter, g-daughter and Me are going to Crescent City.

I will try to take some photos along the way. Chris we will be going right through Orick and the same trail you took coming down this way. Maybe I can get a pic of the Elk at Orick.

Another meeting tonight - this one was the village Planning Board and I get paid for it.  ;D

It was snowing lightly when I left and when I tried to stop on the hill to turn into the village hall driveway, my ABS brakes chattered like crazy, stopping me slowly on the slippery road.  And by the time the meeting was over, about an hour and a half, there was a good inch of snow on the ground and it was coming down really heavy - enough to make visibility very poor with side streets hard to find.   It's only three miles, though and the Lord was with me all the way home where Gene was waiting in my nice warm and dry trailer.  God is good!

Work tomorrow morning but by then the roads should be cleared.

Hello all!!  We were out and about most of the day, so I wasn't able to get in here.

Now, I am tired, and we have another long day tomorrow.  The Basic Skills Dept. I work in is having their GED/Adult High School graduation tomorrow, and Bernard is playing prelude, Pomp and Circumstance, and then he and I will play the postlude together (piano/trumpet duet thingy).

Taking Travis swimming in the morning, if we can get the ice chipped off the top (hahahahahaha -- just kidding, indoor pool), so I had better go get stuff ready.

Speaking of swimming, wonder how Janet is faring, 'bout right now?
