Morning Devotional...
Jesus and Women
Luke 7:36--8:3 NLT
36One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to come to his home for a meal, so Jesus accepted the invitation and sat down to eat. 37A certain immoral woman heard he was there and brought a beautiful jar filled with expensive perfume. 38Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.
39When the Pharisee who was the host saw what was happening and who the woman was, he said to himself, "This proves that Jesus is no prophet. If God had really sent him, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She's a sinner!"
40Then Jesus spoke up and answered his thoughts. "Simon," he said to the Pharisee, "I have something to say to you."
"All right, Teacher," Simon replied, "go ahead."
41Then Jesus told him this story: "A man loaned money to two people--five hundred pieces of silver to one and fifty pieces to the other. 42But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?"
43Simon answered, "I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt."
"That's right," Jesus said. 44Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn't offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45You didn't give me a kiss of greeting, but she has kissed my feet again and again from the time I first came in. 46You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume. 47I tell you, her sins--and they are many--have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love." 48Then Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven."
49The men at the table said among themselves, "Who does this man think he is, going around forgiving sins?"
50And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
1Not long afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby cities and villages to announce the Good News concerning the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, 2along with some women he had healed and from whom he had cast out evil spirits. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; 3Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.

Overflowing love is the natural response to forgiveness and the appropriate consequence of faith. But only those who realize the depth of their sin can appreciate the complete forgiveness God offers them. Jesus has rescued all of his followers, whether they were once extremely wicked or conventionally good, from eternal death.
Do you appreciate the wideness of God's mercy?
Are you grateful for his forgiveness.?

Janet ~ I could read the joy in your post. I know you are happy to have some good news!
I didn't do much today. I think I am getting addicted to SuDoku puzzles. Similar to crosswords but with numbers. But tonight one in the newspaper stumped me!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Good Morning Folks!!
It's so cold here today. Geordie didn't want to stay outside very long at all a few minutes ago.
I have an errand to do later on so I'm going to get ready for that.
I'll be back a little later.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fchristianphotographers.com%2Fforum%2Fgraphics%2Ffrog_morning.gif&hash=3ae5fdd42eb896d82409df20349d54612e8073eb)
Hi everyone. We are having a pretty chilly down here in Georgia. However, sure it is nothing compared to those of you living to the North are experiencing.
Today is my Calvin Cove day. That is all I have on my schedule. I did walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes this morning and will do that again today. I believe it is going to be very good to have the treadmill readily available and know I need the exercise. Last night and agin this morning I took a nitro before starting and that definitely helped as delayed the pains arrival.
Janet, so glad to see your very upbeat postings yesterday and to know that Beth is suffering terribly with the burns. I know you are looking forward to your painting.
JudyB, glad to see that John is getting to come home before you expected.
Good to see everyone posting.
Hello all! Just running through for a few minutes. Today, I will get some stuff done.
Kristi is running afever again. It's low, and more annoying to her than anything I think (she's alittle grumpy). Her and Travis are playing right now. It is hilarious how he makes her laugh. He pretends to sneeze and she cackles.
Gotta run right now.
Pat, that frog is so me today. Oh man.
Good morning. As I look out my window this morning it looks like it will be a nice but cold day. Yesterday looked like that too but it turned in a whole lot of rain.
I have been to Samantha's prayer request for her sister and the news is not good so if you all would please go there and offer her some encouraging words I am sure it will be much appreciated.
Etta Sue thank you for the devotional today.

Last night Bible study was great. We started out with a period of testimonies. Several from Teen Challenge gave theirs and some of ours did too. It is always so encouraging to hear the testimonies of what God has done for others. We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the "word of our testimonies".TTYL

This is SO great Etta Sue !!
I really am needing to KNOW God's forgiveness in a REAL way right now!
Especially " as a woman".
To know that JESUS values woman, That though the world may turn against you and not be the support or encouragement you need.
JESUS will NOT fail me !!
HE is the ONE who will ALWAYS come through for me!
I "NEED" to KNOW this DEEP in my heart!
Thanks AGAIN for the devotional !
Much Love in JESUS

He will not fail, nor mock, nor disappoint thee;
His consolations change not with the years;
With oil of joy He surely will anoint thee,
And wipe away thy tears.

Loved with everlasting love, led by grace that love to know;
Gracious Spirit from above, Thou hast taught me it is so!
O this full and perfect peace! O this transport all divine!
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.
Heav'n above is softer blue, Earth around is sweeter green!
Something lives in every hue Christless eyes have never seen;
Birds with gladder songs o'erflow, flowers with deeper beauties shine,
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.
Things that once were wild alarms cannot now disturb my rest;
Closed in everlasting arms, pillowed on the loving breast.
O to lie forever here, doubt and care and self resign,
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.
His forever, only His; Who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss Christ can fill the loving heart!
Heav'n and earth may fade and flee, firstborn light in gloom decline;
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.

:thumbsup: Great devotional today-we had a small amount of snow here overnight. But My husband is still not satisfied because its not enough to go out on the skidoo :)
We had to cancel or prayer meeting as some of the smaller roads were still snowed in and some of our ladies from prayer group could not get out.
I have aperson coming to my home ina few minutes who is going through a dificult time and needs someone to share with . The burden of their situation has weighed down on this individual
So I would appreciate some prayer -I would like to have the wisdom of God to help and encourage.
Thank you-God bless and may God make you a blessing

Can it really be Thursday again already?? :o My, how time is flying past.
Hamas has won power in so-called "Palestine" which means the coming of our Lord is near, even at the doors. Not good news for Israel, for sure. They want nothing so much as to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. (Maybe they should read the end of the BOOK----they lose!! :clobber:
Beth was feeling pretty chipper this morning. They finally took her for a shower and washed her hair; and that always makes us feel so much better. When I stopped by, they had her feet in the whirlpool, then put the silvadeen cream back on and re-bandaged all the burns.
We have a man coming on Saturday to see about running more concrete at Beth's, so her ramp can be lengthened, making it easier to get her into and out of her place. She has high hopes that since she can move that left foot again, she may be able to get around again with a lot of work. I pray she can.
My ladies are supposed to come to paint today, so I have to run. God bless! :)
My heart is so filled with sorrow for the family of the children killed in the van. And I just heard that their grampa died of a heart attack when he heard.
I can't imagine the horror of losing all of your children at once. I can't get past this. All I want to do is pull near to the Lord and just cry to Him, "Father, hold them".
Someone sent an email asking me, "What was God thinking?" I haven't replied yet.
Samantha, I'm praying for your sister's family too. And for you, dear one.

Nita,
I've gotten that question and similar ones from non-believers and believers alike, whenever a big tragedy strikes.
God is Who He always has been, is, and always will be. How can we know His thoughts?
Romans 11:33-36
"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." NIV
To assume that God should/does/has/will intervene in every tragedy is such a misunderstanding of what the Scripture teaches about God, this broken world, and much more.

I am sooooo tired. My advice to you women....don't start cleaning your house in the morning....no reason to stop! But I have a clean house! Now to find that hot beanie thing to put at my back. Ouch!
I ordered a electronic SuDoku hand held game and it came in the mail today. Will let you know how it is.
Etta Sue, what is that SuKoku game, anyway? It must be fun.
QuoteTo assume that God should/does/has/will intervene in every tragedy is such a misunderstanding of what the Scripture teaches about God, this broken world, and much more.
Thank you for that quote Kevin. It is right on. Who are we, after all to assume the right to judge God's administration of all the events in time and space? I do not say that God "does" this or that thing, but at the same time I am absolutely convinced that it is absolutely all under His sovereign hand. And His administration is good, no matter what it looks like to puny minds like ours!
Wise Solomon said something to the effect that to every thing there is a season. The season will come when we will see Him face to face and it won't any longer puzzle us as to why certain things happen. I'm going through some heartache right now, and the enormity of that family's loss has certainly put my heartache into perspective.
Today I'm thankful to be alive and to know that Jesus loves even me.
Ruth Ann
Continuing to pray for you, Ruth Ann...

O safe to the Rock that is higher than I,
My soul in its conflicts and sorrows would fly;
So sinful, so weary, Thine, Thine, would I be;
Thou blest "Rock of Ages," I'm hiding in Thee.
Refrain
Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee,
Thou blest "Rock of Ages,"
I'm hiding in Thee.
In the calm of the noontide, in sorrow's lone hour,
In times when temptation casts over me its power;
In the tempests of life, on its wide, heaving sea,
Thou blest "Rock of Ages," I'm hiding in Thee.
Refrain
How oft in the conflict, when pressed by the foe,
I have fled to my refuge and breathed out my woe;
How often, when trials like sea billows roll,
Have I hidden in Thee, O Thou Rock of my soul.
Refrain

Good Evening from a very cold and wet island. Almost feels like snow today! Do hope that it is my imagination working overtime....
Nice devotional, Etta Sue. Sometimes it is so easy to forget about the person(s) involved when a problem becomes the main focus. Have been there and done that :(
Lots of strange things being said about our soon to be new Prime Minister. One would think they could at least let the man take office before trying to destroy him. Anyone who dares to acturally say 'God Bless Canada' in a speech, is a target these days. Also, not for abortion and same sex marriages....etc, etc. I think that he is going to need lots of prayers going his way in years to come. Of course, an Albertan is also made of similar stuff to a Texan. Could it be the hats??? ^-^
Still trying to make Misty take pills and open wide for her gum gel every day. Ah, the life of a Grandmother. Who said that old age was peaceful? ::)
Anyone watched Larry King lately. Nice mess about an author named James Frey who wrote a book that was supposed to be his true life story....only it wasn't true! Was on Oprah's Book List and supposed to inspire addicts to change their habits....no telling how much damage that has done! It is a lie that is being exposed in a very big way. Hope it might inspire a few others to realize truth will always come out in the end!
Here is a little thought:
Deep Thoughts
It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have
more money. And I guess that's what I like about
it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back
and forth, wanting that money.
;)
Wonder how many have been guilty of that....? Mr. Frey should have stuck to his rocking chair. I hope that some Christians will reach out to him and something good can come out of yet another scandal.
I am sort of weary of bad news and sad happenings. Glad that here on this site, we can see the result of following Jesus and how God can make sense of a corrupt and cruel world. Would be very difficult to survive without the promises that are real and true.
God Bless,
Liz
It was a lovely day today albeit very cold but the sun was so bright. I went to Elora and took a few photos of Geordie at the Elora Gorge. It was lovely thiere.
Now it's time to lock the door on yet another day...
