Morning Devotional...

Trials and Pain:
Nothing to Fear

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
--Isaiah 26:3

The only fear I have is to fear to get out of the will of God.  Outside of the will of God, there's nothing I want, and in the will of God there's nothing I fear, for God has sworn to keep me in His will. If I'm out of His will, that is another matter. But if I'm in His will, He's sworn to keep me.

And He's able to do it, He's wise enough to know how to do it and He's kind enough to want to do it. So really there's nothing to fear.

I get kidded by my family and friends about this, but I don't really think I'm afraid of anything. Someone may ask, "What about cancer? Do you ever fear that you'll die of cancer?" Maybe so, but it will have to hurry up, or I'll die of old age first.

But I'm not too badly worried because a man who dies of cancer in the will of God, is not injured; he's just dead. You can't harm a man in the will of God.
Dr. Tozer in Success and the Christian, pp. 80-81.

"Lord, 'outside of the will of God, there's nothing I want, and in the will of God there's nothing I fear.' Amen."

Let's remember those of our number who are hurting tonight and sick in hospital or at home...

In my distress I cried unto the LORD,
and he heard me.

Psalm 120:1

THOUGHT:
Genuine worship is a gift. Since God is spirit, since he is
holy, we cannot fully approach him without the gift and blessing of
his Holy Spirit. As Christians who received his Spirit when we were
baptized into Christ and born of God, we can now speak to him and
worship him Spirit to Spirit.

PRAYER:
Abba Father, by the gift of your Spirit I come to you as your
child. Thank you so much for giving me your Spirit so that I can
approach you with confidence and know you hear the concerns of my
heart. Please accept the worship of my heart, of my words, and of
my actions. May the things I do each day bring you glory. In Jesus
name I pray. Amen.

Papa John ~ I was saddened to read your post about Cornelia.  I am praying big time for her to recover fully!

Janet ~ It is great that Beth is wanting her walker and good of you to sneak in Mieka for her to see.

Marilyn ~ Thanks for the words about dogs.  I love dogs...just don't want to own one.

Pat ~ Going to the gallery right now!

Ivalou just came over and cut my hair.  Hope it warms up or I might freeze.... :idiot:

Tony may come up today.  He has been having pc problems.  Stepson reformatted the pc but they can't get online.  They have satellite hookup with DirectWay.  He called them and a non-English speaking person said to download a fix from the internet.  Tony said he can't get online!!  The man said to go to some other pc and download fix.  So Tony called me last night.  I have the .exe file on a CD for him and the instructions printed out for him.  If he doesn't come today, then I will stop after church tomorrow....Monday is his 45th birthday!!

It is very windy here today.... >:( :(  This my most disliked kind of weather.

Beth was up in the recliner, dressed in her own clothes, and with a colorful throw on her lap when I walked in this morning.  She had had a shower and shampoo, and was feeling pretty good!  :)  A little later a male nurse came in and changed her bandages; he is a traveling nurse who lives way up north of Hays, Ks.  That's a long drive, but those nurses get paid really well.  He was really nice, and likes to visit.  We learned about his wife, his home, his fruit trees, his garden, even his shoes!  ;) (He was wearing Crocs.)

Beth's burns seem to be healing nicely, she still has quite a few blisters, and some raw places.  A fellow from church who works for the concrete company came out today, and he and Darrel talked about how to lengthen her ramp, run a pad for unloading her, etc.  It will take both time and money, but we hope to enable her to stay in her own place for some time yet.  But she WILL definitely need help from Home Health and possibly other agencies as well, as I know I can't do all she needs.

I am anxiously awaiting further word on dear Cornelia.......

Etta Sue, my friend Pat cut and colored my hair for me this week, too.  So we are both "new" women!  ;D

Beth wants to go to church tomorrow, but I told her she better wait a week.  I don't think they would let her go anyway, while she is still hospitalized.

Nita, I am enjoying your encouraging posts so much.  Thanks.

Pat, great words for today  "Outside the will of God, there's nothing I want; and inside the will of God, there's nothing I fear."  I want to remember that, as that is the way I feel as well.  Thanks for that.

Good morning dear ones, while it is still morning. :)    edit:  ok, forget the morning part.  It turned to afternoon while I was typing.

We had high wind last night, and the predicted rain.  I lost power at 4 am and didn't get it back until 10 am.  It was really cold when I got up at 6:30, so I snuggled in a comforter in my recliner, no coffee, with the dogs on my lap until the power came back on.  Oh, do I appreciate electricity.  It would really be nice to have an alternative source of heat, but I don't, so that's that. haha

QuoteNita, I am enjoying your encouraging posts so much.  Thanks.

Janet, what a nice thing to say.  I'm not sure what I said, but it's good to hear that it was encouraging.  I usually don't think of what to say, just write from the heart.  Sometimes it is only babble, and sometimes, well, maybe it's encouraging.  :)  I know we all try to be that for each other.  We are moved by the trials of others we have come to know and care about in CP.   God has blessed this place, don't you think?

I'm thinking of Cornelia today. Samantha's sister.  Beth.

My son in law's uncle went to sleep in his recliner, and just never woke up.  Isn't that the way to go meet the Lord? :)

Blessings,  Nita

I'm also sad to hear Cornelia has had that heart attack. Hopefully the treatments will help her continue to live a great and productive life with her dear husband and their family.

It's a beautiful day here in Nashville, and I felt better enough to eat lunch with some friends. The salad was SO BIG that I already know what I'm eating for supper. ;)

My heart has been saddened this week. I got the news that my oldest cat is in very bad condition and won't be with us much longer. But that's such a small matter with the health of some of our friends here in CP being so precarious right now.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

I was only at Fay's for an hour this morning so I have been here at home doing some chores. I had to move my bed to vacuum up the dog hair from under it. I have an upright Oreck vacuum cleaner. Then  did my dishes and made some Pineapple Jello that I am going to ad Mandarin oranges, yogurt and coconut to. Now I have some curried rice cooking for my supper. I am going to add some stir fried veggies to that.

The sun is out now but it sure did rain this morning. Nita  don't know if we got the wind during the night. In this house I don't hear much that goes on outside weather wise unless it is loud.

Janet the new about Beth just keeps on getting better.

I hope we hear something from Papa John soon. Someone on SN has posted something earlier today. Maybe I will go there and see if there is anything new.

Later.

Oh please add my prayers to those for Cornelia and Papa John.  Prayers for wisdom for the doctors and direction for their hands, and comfort and peace for Papa John and Cornelia.  I know just how strong and comforting His arms can be.

We have been at the hospital all day. She seemed to be making progress until this afternoon when he had some kind of arrhythmia. The Cardiologist was called in and after awhile they got it under control. Anyway she remains in Critical Care Unit tonight.

I want to thank you all for your prayers.  It was so nice to read all your posts and to know I have Christian friends from all over praying for Cornelia.  I am at home now and plan to go to early service at church in the morning before going to the hospital.  I know you will continue to pray.  God is good whatever happens.  We have had 56 wonderful years together and God willing we will have some more yet.  I will plan to report back again tomorrow night.

Marilyn, thank you for trying to call.  I just haven't been here all day.

I love you all.

Papa John
