Morning Devotional...

Greet Mary.                                 Romans 16:6

There are at least six Marys in our New Testament--Mary of Nazareth and Mary of Bethany; Mary of Magdala and Mary of Rome; Mary the mother of John Mark and Mary the wife of Cleopas.

These all appreciated the Saviour, and He must have appreciated them. They loved Him and worshipped Him, they followed Him and served Him, and they were true to Him in the world which had rejected Him.

We must salute these delightful women and follow the good example which they have left us.
                                                                              --Jim Flanigan

O, draw me, Saviour, after Thee;
So shall I run and never tire:
With gracious words still comfort me,
Be Thou my hope, my sole desire.
--Paul Gerhardt

Good morning to all!

I need to ask that you pray for Zachery again. He has a fever and isn't feeling to well.
Thanks so much!!!!!

I got a few pictures done today for the challenges on Dpc.  It has been a busy day here at my house.
Thank God for summer!

Almost 1 AM and I'm still up.  ::)  Travis had vaccinations today and isn't doing too well with them.  One of his legs in particular seems to be bothering him.

Sonifo, sorry to hear about Z.  I hope he gets okay, and has a restful night and good day tomorrow.

Poor little Trav.  I hope he gets better too.  Is this his last set of shots?  Lila got her last shots about 2 months ago.  She didn't seem to mind them at all. The only one of my kids that didn't get a fever.
BTW~Lila finally got her eye teeth.  Man, were those a pain!  I will keep your little one in my prayers, Karma.

Yes, this is his last set for a year, I think.  These are the only ones that bothered him.  I read somewhere that the final DPT shot can be the most bothersome.  That is what is hurting him right now.  He seems to be settling down some, so maybe we can go to bed before to long.

Thanks for our prayers and we'll remember you too!

Hi Pat, Sonja, Karma, and Mieka ... I have been staying off line today in order to keep the phone lines open.  My pastor, Bev, had surgery today ... I will post the further information in the Prayer Room.

Y'all take care now, and know that I am around even if you don't see a message from me.   ::)

Lots of Love,
Jane

Pat - where would the church be without praying women?

A church near me was down to its last male member. they did not have a Pastor and they remained that way for many years. Many in the district expected it to close. The remaining women kept praying.

Today they have their own Pastor, at least a dozen praying men and a student training for the ministry. Not to mention the women who held the church together through the barren tears. Warriors indeed!

'For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.'

Proverbs 23:18

What are you expecting God to do for you today?
Our children expect food on the table, probably a lift to the Sports Centre and no doubt a sub! What else are parents good for?

They have an expectation. They know that we love them and they expect nothing but good things to come from us. Never do they expect us to harm them in any way.

It is a good thing to have an expectant hope as we do business with our God. I cannot see the point in praying if we do not honestly believe that our prayers are going to be answered. Allow me a couple of quotes:-

'The Lord when he hath given great faith hath been known to try it by long delays. There is no such thing as prayer unanswered or unnoticed by God, and some things that we count refusals or denials are simply delays.'

'Christ sometimes delays His hep that He may try our faith and quicken our prayers. The boat may be covered with the waves, and He sleeps on; but He will wake up before it sinks. He sleeps, but He never oversleeps; and there are no 'too lates' with Him.'

There are many days in our walk when the heavens seem like brass and we feel as though we are spitting feathers instead of praying. We cannot do better than have all our confidence in our Lord and Saviour.

He wants us to lean heavily upon Him for all our needs and cares. His storehouse is beyond measure and He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

We have a Mediator who has purchased our redemption with His own precious blood. We are God's chosen people, He chose us remember! We now have access unto God the Father through Jesus Christ His Son.

Let us therefore come boldy unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Our God delights in blessing His children, therefore let us open our mouths wide that we may be filled. It is good to expect our God to do great things for us. His promises are there to be used. They are not glib statements, but powerful oaths that God will perform.

He cannot lie.

Are you waiting today for the fulfilment of one of these promises? Then wait my friend with an expectant hope in your God, believing with all your heart that what He has promised He will also bring to pass.

Two old women were overheard praying, prior to a revival breaking out on our Island. One of the women was heard to say in her prayer, 'You have to answer this Lord, Your honour is at stake!' That is a refreshing boldness of an assured heart.

Perhaps we too need this boldness in our prayer life before revival returns to our shores. We long for such days, but do we really believe that we will experience them?

For those who read this post and are as yet strangers to grace and to God, I pray that they would repent of their sins and turn unto God who will abundantly pardon. That they may come to know for themselves the blessing He commands, life that shall never end.

Do you have an expectant hope today? God's is telling you then that it shall not be cut off. What encouraging news. Be ready to receive it.

LOL

Your brother in Christ

Iain

Hi everyone.  Will post before heading off downtown for my treatment.  We have rain coming into our area later today and am hopeful that it waits until we are home to arrive in our area.  It is not pleasant driving our busy Interstates (6 lanes each way) during a rain storm.  Etta Sue, I saw some pictures this morning of the terrible flooding in your State.  Hope you are staying nice and dry.  We have some areas here that have also been experiencing flooding but not where we live.

Sorry to read that both Zachery and Travis were "under the weather" last night and sure hope they are feeling much better this morning.

Janice, so good to see you posting and read that you are recovering very nicely and also that Earl is doing well.  I know you will enjoy being able to eat whatever you want in the future.  I well remember the problems I was having before my gall bladder was removed a number of years ago and what a relieft to be able to eat without experiencing the pain that often followed that always seemed to strike in the middle of the night.  We would all be better off if we ate slower.

Pat, I had never stopped to consider how many Mary's were mentioned in the Bible as being followers of Jesus.  Iain,  as always  your words are right on target and very meaningful.

Jane, I will be watching for news about Bev.

Good Morning Everyone!

Thinking about you, Etta Sue and praying for the weather to turn in Indiana.  I'm so sorry to read about the terrible flooding.

Hi Marilyn!  When do you actually pull out to head north?

Thanks so much, Iain.

Lord, teach us to pray.

Larry, you and I were posting at nearly the same time!  I will be thinking of you as you travel into the city.  Not a pleasant drive for sure in the rain on these super highways.

I'm home and now have some errands to run around Guelph.

That was a really refreshing devotional, Iain!  Thank you so much!  I read the news headlines every day on my computer; the news is nearly always bad, worse or worst!  It would be so easy to get downhearted and discouraged, but I know God is still on the throne!  He is still in charge!  "Where sin doth abound, grace doth much more abound!"  Praise God!  Let's live in the "much more" of His grace!

Good morning Sonja and Karma! I'm sorry your boys are not feeling well (or weren't last night) and I pray they both feel much better this morning!

Mieka, it is so much fun getting glimpses of the ways you are learning English!  I wouldn't have thought of "eye teeth" being so confusing. ;) But I can sure understand how it would be, seen from your perspective!  Thanks for sharing with us.

Karma, I guess I must keep strange "computer hours" as I am often the only one online here.  Does get a bit lonely, doesn't it?  But God is always here with us!

I probably won't work quite as hard today, as I have my little class to teach this afternoon.

God bless you all, my dear brothers and sisters, and grant you a wonderful day.

Edit:  I'm not alone here today--Marilyn, Larry and Pat had all posted by the time I finished mine!  Hi, guys! ;)  Good to see you!

Pat: We will be picking up the truck tomorrow afternoon and Gilbert wants to load it Friday evening. However with the weather so hot, I don't know what his decision will be. We may pull out Friday night, I will come on here when I am ready to disconnect my computer to let y-all know we are on our way up norht so your prayers can go with us.

Good Morning All.

Pat and Iain ~ Thank you for the morning devotions.  They mean a lot to us.

Karma and Sonja ~ I pray that the boys are much better today.  Mommies hurt when their babies hurt.

Larry ~ Tell Pat Happy Belated Birthday for me.  I hope your treatment today is better for you and the rains hold out until you return back home.

Marilyn ~ Whew!  I cannot imagine loading a truck in that heat.  Do take care...all of you.  I know you are anxious to get on the road north and I pray your travels will be safe.

Pat ~ I went to AAA last week and ordered my Triptik for Calgary.  I like to study them and Ivalou want to study too since she will be the navigator!

Mieka ~ Eye teeth!  I think they are called 'Eye teeth' because the nerve also goes to the eye....makes you cry when the nerve is bothered.  I may be wrong..

Jane ~ Good morning.  I am off to the Prayer Room to read your request.  I pray that Pastor Bev is on the mend.

Janet ~ It is good you are going to be more leisure today and teaching a class.  We need rest...I know I do more and more each day!!

Ivalou, Parker and I will be leaving around 3PM.  Jo, Ivalou's daughter, is concerned about the traffic by the time we get to Dayton.  Traffic doesn't bother me but I may look at the maps and see if I can find an alternate route OFF the interstate!  Or we could stop and eat and let everyone else get home!!!

The weather still says possible thunder showers again today.  It rained last night.  I think the hardest hit city is Kokomo...some streets have 6 feet of water.  Noblesville was mentioned on the news last night also.  They are expecting White River to crest today but that was before the rains last night.  Madison County was hit hard...where Jerry lives but he is on high ground.  I am fine here also.  Water all around me but I am on high ground also. I just looked at my basement.  The floor is damp but only about a quarter of an inch of water in the low spots.  That is good.

I won't be online until I get back home sometime tomorrow.

Hi all,

Just stopped by after a few days away.

I have so much reading to do to see how everyone is doing.

Probably will miss a few good posts which I will regret.

Karmet and Sonja --my prayers for your little ones.  So hard on parents when the little ones can't explain their hurts and you wonder what next to do.  ..

Marilyn, take care and enjoy your traveling time with your family--they will see the good LORD above shining in your eyes when you speak of HIS great love..In fact, they will see your peace and contentment that only believers in the word can know even when you are having quiet times.

People have told me they see that I am a CHristian when I am not even speaking; so I Praise the LORD for that peaceful contentment.

I needed it this week as my aunt got great news from her doctors--no chemo/radiation needed--she is running around like her usual self.

But my SIL called that his dad was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night (his heart) they did not expect him to make it through the night.

THey revived him three times--something to do with only 10% of the heart muscles working (not enough oxygen to the heart)  Also another chamber is not working properly in conjuction with the other chambers.

Further testing tomorrow so I will know more then.

Please keep him in your prayers.  A wonderful, wonderful man --a great CHristian who has so much love to give to all he meets.

I want to check back on past postings ---I see Janice is better--Praise the Lord ---and I want to check out other postings.

Iian, I desparately needed to read your posting today.  It was a great help to me while I wait for the LORD's response on several things that are weighing" heavy on my heart".

Talk to you later if I get a chance,

Love in CHrist,
Joyce

Hope this finds Travis and Zachary doing better, and their Moms' getting some well needed rest.

Meika:  I guess by now you have figured out that the teeth they are talking about is for the boys...not canine, which is for dogs!..haha  You sure do give us something to smile about at times.

Etta Sue:  How long do you think it will take you and Ivalou to drive from your place to Calgary?

We took our car in today and had it professionally cleaned inside and out. It looks like, and smells like a brand new car.  Next we'll get two new tires, then an oil change before heading west....always something to use up our $$!

Jane:  How is Bev doing these days?

Nice to see you posting, Ruth.  I took a look before I started posting.... and I don't see anyone else "on board" yet......Judy

Pat: I will more than likely be back online by Sunday. As soon as I can get my computer unpacked and set up. I am not disconnecting here until tomorrow. All I have to do is go to my isp and change my profile and it is done automatically. I have already contacted them and I will change the connection telephone number before I disconnect here.

Good to see every one here this morning.  TTYL

Shew, rough nite, but little man seems to be feeling a touch better this morning.  When I finally got him in his crib (which is in the room with Bernard and me), around 3 AM, he was laying there peacefully, I was about asleep, and I hear --
 "mum"
  "what"
  "wawa"
So, I get up, give him his sippy cup, get him situated, and lay back down.  Just as I was about to go to sleep --
   "mum"
   "what"
   "hey"
  "hey"
   "wawa"

Up, sippy cup, situated, lay back down.  Yep, in just a few minutes

   "mum"
    "hmmmmm"
     "mum"
     "hmmmmmm"
     "MAMA
      "what"
       "hey"
       "hey"
       "wawa"

After about six time of this, he ended up in the bed with me!  Right now, he is napping peacefully, thank goodness, we are both tired.

I pray for travelling grace as so many of you are out and about, and will be out and about.

Take care.  My student is here, so I must go, but i will be back later.

Hi Everyone!

I did a few errands this afternoon, bank, CAA, another bank, grocery store, etc. etc. and in the middle of it all, I enjoyed a couple of cups of wonderful coffee with Judy McKenna and Norm!

We talked about our trip west and I took the maps and had a really nice time with them.

Now, I'm about to make some supper.

Living alone sometimes is hard when you try to figure out what kind of a meal to make!  I'm going to brown some lean ground beef and then put in lots of onions, chopped celery, carrots, green pepper, maybe some broccali and then some OXO cubes and water and make a gravy out of it and I'll have enough for a week!  It's kind of nice on a bit of mashed potatoes when you have such a mouth as I have right now when I can't chew!  LOL

Oh, well...  This too shall pass!

Off to see what other nice messages there are to read!

Al; I sure will give you a call, unless of course it is in the middle of the night. I have you number in my purse. Jerry Chapman from the storage company is supposed to call me on Monday or Tuesday and let me know when to come to work. He said he would give me a couple of days to get settled in.

Janet I posted a prayer for Beth. BTW everyone be sure to keep praying for that baby. I also posted an update there yesterday.

I have been invaded by GNATS 1000's of them. I went to let Bebe in the house and she was covered with them, the door was covered and they were everywhere. This morning the pan of water for the dogs in the kitchen was full of them.  Pestilence baa humbug.

Goodnight, Marilyn!

We'll be praying for you as you complete this move.

I've been to the Walk In Clinic tonight and am on hefty doses of penicillan for a week as the doctor thinks I may have an abscess forming where I had the last tooth extracted last thursday.

So, I'm closing the door now and going to bed.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

By the way, let's remember to pray for Beverly.  Chape had his back surgery and now they are setting out for Vermont in the morning and will be there till August.
