Morning Devotional...

I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication...I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put My name there for ever; and Mine eyes and Mine heart shall be there perpetually.
1 Kings 9:3

God consecrated the house Solomon had built for Him by placing His name, heart, and eyes there.

His name spoke of the fact that it would be a place where His person would be revealed.

His eyes spoke of the fact that it would be a place that He would watch over.

But His heart spoke that it would be a place that experienced His affection.

We also have been consecrated for service to bear His name, see with His eyes and reveal God's heart to others.

Let us go out this day consecrated to the Lord's work.
                                                                                        --Fred Scott

Let every thought and work and word
to Thee be ever given;
Then life shall be Thy service, Lord,
and death the gate of heaven.

::) Hi everyone. I did it again, i broke everything.  :-\

I sometimes need to push all the buttons to see if what will happen.  :-\  I just need to do it  ::)

I hope it is a WONDERFUL week for everyone. I am not certain if I can be here this week at all, so I will say I miss you all now, so when I do, you will already know it ok.  ;D

I hope the stones in your path this week will bring only knowledge, happiness and the love of ones you share a time with this week. So share some time with God too ok.

Many weeks ago we talk here of what we will do for God today. I can not even tell you what so many things of good happen from that day. I try hard to do something for God every day now. I do not talk of it because it is only for God. Today I am SO SO SO happy. I love you all and I love you God.

Pat - another fine post. How you manage to do all that you do in such pain is beyond me. the old addage may be true after all! Ask a busy man to do something and he'll get it done! My wife Ann suffered with such an abscess a number of years ago and it almost floored her. I'm praying that you may find relief sis. If not, then songs in the night that will be sweet to your soul. Do you sing Jehovah Tsidkenu over there? That and 'Just as I am' are two of my favourites.

Meika -  Dear sis I rejoice with you.

Marilyn - The first time I ventured to Romania I took this text with me and stuck it on the windscreen of the van. I took it with me on each trip afterwards abd the Lord proved true to his Word. I now pass it on to you with love and prayerful good wishes for your new start:-

'Behold I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.' Exodus Chapter 23 verse 20

Today, I made yet another blunder, reading the wrong 'Daily Reading!' Right month, wrong date! Sometimes these blunders have turned out to be blessings in disguise for me and today has been no exception.

There may be times in our experience when there are a number of avenues available for us to wander down, there may also come thoughts into out heads and we wonder are they from the Lord or from the pit.

Recently I have been mulling over a few things in my life and wondering if these thoughts and desires have come from God or is it just me being me again!

Today's blunder was like honey to my soul. As sweet an answer to prayer as one could wish for, so I gladly pass it on with the prayerful wish that it may also prove to be an unexpected blessing to someone else as well.

'This thing is from me.'

(1Kings 12:24)

My child, I have a message for you today; let me whisper it in your ear, that it may gild with glory any storm clouds which may arise, and smooth the rough places upon which you may have to tread.

It is short, only five words, but let them sink into your inmost soul; use them as a pillow upon which to rest your weary head. 'This thing is from ME.'

Have you ever thought of it, that all that concerns you concerns Me too? For. 'he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of mine eye.' (Zech 2:8). You are very precious in My sight (Isa 43:4). Therefore, it is My special delight to educate you.

I would have you learn when temptations assail you, and the 'enemy comes in like a flood,' that this thing is from Me, that your weakness needs My might, and your safety lies in letting Me fight for you.

Are you in difficult circumstances, surrounded by people who do not understand you, who never consult your taste, who put you in the background? This thing is from Me. I am the God of circumstances. Thou camest not to thy place by accident, it is the very place God meant for thee.

Have you not asked to be made humble? See the, I have placed you in the very school where this lesson is taught; your surroundings and companions are only working out My will.

Are you in money difficulties? Is it hard to make both ends meet? This thing is from Me, for I am your purse-bearer and would have you draw from and depend upon Me. My supplies are limitless (Phil 4:19).

I would have you prove my promises. Let it not be said of you, 'In this thing ye did not believe the Lord your God.' (Deut 1:32)

Are you passing through a night of sorrow? This thing is from Me. I am the Man of Sorrows and aquainted with grief. I have let earthly comforters fail you, that by turning to Me you may obtain everlasting consolation (2 Thess 2:16-17).

Have you longed to do some great work for Me and instead have been laid aside on a bed of pain and weakness? This thing is from Me.

I could not get your attention in your busy days and I want to teach you some of My deepest lessons. 'They also serve who only stand and wait.' Some of my greatest workers are those shut out from active service, that they may learn to wield the weapon of all-prayer.

This day I place in your hand this pot of holy oil. Make use of it free, My child. Let every circumstance that arises, every word that pains you, every interruption that would make you impatient, every revelation of your weakness be anointed with it.

The sting will go as you learn to see Me in all things. 'This thing is from Me.'

Good Morning Everyone!

The appointment for my friend, Larry, is later today so I'm just leaving now for Hamilton but thought I'd come in here first.  I always receive such a blessing from your messages.

I won't name each of you except to say, yes, Iain, we sing that over here.  I love that hymn as well.

Maybe we'll sing it here this morning.  You can sing till I get home!  LOL

I'll be singing it in my mind I know now as I really love the words of it.

Talk to you later.

Jehovah Tsidkenu (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/gordon.mpga)
(Click to hear music)

"THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS"
(The watchword of the Reformers.)

I once was a stranger to grace and to God,
I knew not my danger, and felt not my load;
Though friends spoke in rapture of Christ on the tree,
Jehovah Tsidkenu was nothing to me.

I oft read with pleasure, to sooth or engage,
Isaiah's wild measure and John's simple page;
But e'en when they pictured the blood-sprinkled tree
Jehovah Tsidkenu seem'd nothing to me.

Like tears from the daughters of Zion that roll,
I wept when the waters went over His soul;
Yet thought not that my sins had nail'd to the tree
Jehovah Tsidkenu - 'twas nothing to me.

When free grace awoke me, by light from on high,
Then legal fears shook me, I trembled to die;
No refuge, no safety in self could I see, -
Jehovah Tsidkenu my Saviour must be.

My terrors all vanished before the sweet name;
My guilty fears banished, with boldness I came
To drink at the fountain, life-giving and free, -
Jehovah Tsidkenu is all things to me.

Jehovah Tsidkenu! my treasure and boast,
Jehovah Tsidkenu! I ne'er can be lost;
In thee I shall conquer by flood and by field,
My cable, my anchor, my breast-plate and shield!

Even treading the valley, the shadow of death,
This "watchword" shall rally my faltering breath;
For while from life's fever my God sets me free,
Jehovah Tsidkenu, my death song shall be.

Just a quick hello to all of you...

It's actually sunny in Western North Carolina today.  Travis was trying really hard to get his Mommy to get out of bed at 7:00 this morning, and that wasn't going over too well.  She probably hasn't seen the sunshine yet, since she seems to prefer staying up half the night by the light of the streetlamp... :-)

Hope everyone has a great Friday.  Is it a holiday and I missed it?  The Interstate seemed really deserted this morning, almost like all the working people were taking a day off.  Hmmm.

Special hello to Mieka, since I haven't talked to her in a LONG time.  (We're old friends from DPC Chat, for those who might not understand that statement.)  Good to see you around and digging deep into this Christianity thing :-)

Bye for now!

Hi everyone.  It is a little cooler here this morning but more rain is forecast.  We had a terrible tragedgy occur in downtown Atlanta yesterday when a giant oak tree was uprooted from all the rain and fell on a passing car that killed a mother and her two young children in the backseat of the car.  Our ground is so saturated from all the rains that this isn't unusual.

Pat, so sorry to hear of the additional problems with your jaw.  You sure don't need that and hope it will be cleared up before your trip next month.

Iain, I think you were suppose to do the reading you did today.  Great devotional.

Not much new here so will make this sort this morning.

Good morning Pat and Iain, good thoughts for today.   Also good morning to everyone else.

I don't think I wrote anything here yesterday.  I did drop in and read.  I am still coping with this back trouble.  We go to the doctor Monday.

Mieka, did you take your picture off or is it just me?  I always like to see your picture here.  Anyway I am glad you are happy today.  I thought of the little song, "I am happy today, I am happy today, in Jesus Christ, I am happy today, because he's taken all my sins away, and that's why I'm happy today."

In our daily Bible reading several nights ago we were in Proverbs and one thing we read was:

Prov 23:4-5  Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.  Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.  (NIV)

I thought about the fact that so many labor and fret about material things and never give a thought to what is really important.  It IS important to be industrious and to work to make a living.  This is God's plan.  If a person will not work he doesn't deserve to have something to eat.  But if we are obsessed with getting wealth and have no time for God we are missing the purpose of life.

Matt 6:24-34
24   "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
25   "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
26   Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27   Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28   "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29   Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
30   If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31   So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32   For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
33   But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34   Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.  (NIV)

Marilyn, we will all be thinking about you during this transition period.  God bless you.  Have a safe journey.

--- Papa John    ;D          <:))))><<

Post by: Janet on July 11, 2003, 10:42:27 AM

This little Bible study spoke strongly to me today.  I hope it will to you, as well.

"Ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss." (James 4:2-3)

Are all your needs met today? If not, why not?

According to the Word of God, it's either because you're not praying about them at all or because when you do pray, you're praying wrong.

What does it mean to pray wrong? In many cases it simply means to pray without expecting results. Many believers do that, you know. They use prayer as a kind of spiritual wishbone. They just play around with it. "This probably won't do much good," they think, "but who knows? It won't hurt to give it a try."

If that's been your attitude, then change it! Start getting serious about prayer. Stop praying just because it's proper. Stop praying just because you always pray at this point in the church service. And start praying to get results.

Start praying in the Name of Jesus, according to the Word of God, and expecting to receive what you ask for every single time. Isn't that a little presumptuous? No, but it is bold, and you have a scriptural right to be bold.

According to the Word of God, you have a standing invitation from your heavenly Father to "come boldly unto the throne of grace, that [you] may obtain" (Heb. 4:16). That word obtain is a word of certainty. The dictionary says it means "to get possession of."

So pray, expecting to get possession of what you need, not just once in a while, but every time! When prayers do go unanswered, don't just wander away saying, "I guess you never know what God's going to do." Tackle the problem with both hands! Go to God in prayer and in the Word and find out where you missed it and get the problem corrected.

When you go to God in accurate, Word of God based, Spirit inspired prayer, you do know what He's going to do. He's going to answer you. He's going to meet your need exactly as you asked Him. Start expecting Him to do it today.

Scripture Study: 1 John 5:4-15

Pat and Iain, we again say thank you for your faithfulness in posting thoughts from the Word to feed our souls each day.  You are both such blessings to us.

Papa John, I always look forward to getting to the green part, always more good food from the Word!  Thank you.

Mieka, I am smiling as I think about your being so happy today.  God truly gives joy to His beloved!  If you go away, we will be missing you, that's for sure!   :'(

Larry, what a sad thing, that tree falling on a car!  I pray the people knew the Lord!  Just another example of how we need to be ready to go HOME at a moment's notice!  I had never heard of that kind of thing happening before.

Hey, Nards!  Good to have you popping in for a minute, we miss your posts when you stay away!  Give that little Travis a hug for me, and Karma one, too!

Marilyn, we will miss you, and be in prayer for everything to go smoothly as you make your move to the north.  Remember not to drive faster than those angels can fly! (Just kidding.)

Jane, good to see you every time, whether early or late!  You too, Jeanne!

Pat! :( :-\ :'( I hope your jaw and your "tooth hole" feels much better today, and glad you didn't have to get up quite so early this morning.

Talk to you folks later!

By the way - Iain - "This thing is from Me" is a good thing to remember.  Many, many Christians today seem to want to ascribe every negative-appearing thing to the Devil.  We need to remember what an old Puritan said, "Satan is only God's master fencer, to teach us to use our weapons."  God may use even Satan in our lives, and while something or other may come from Satan's hand, yet it may ultimately be from God's hand.  And it will always be for our ultimate good.
"All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

I know I was here this morning and posted but now I can't find it.

Having a very busy week so I probably just didn't think to "hit the post button" after I wrote it.

Pat, you must get better and help us posters who write and then forget to hit the button!!!!

Iian, your post hit home.  I , too, have done my daily reading and say "boy, does that seem so true for me" and then I see I am on the wrong page..

Was it a mistake?? I don't think so; my awesome GOD knows my needs before I do and that was the right timing for me to see the message.

Papa John, oh , how I loved reading you post on Matthew---this brings back so many memories to me.

WHen I was a new , baby, Christian , the only words that substained me were those passages.

My fears slowly disappeared when I realized how HE is always there for my needs.

Al, you are so right.  We have to be so diligent to discern the LORD's ways ....

Update on my SIL's dad --he is having heart surgery now and that is why I came to get the blessings of other posters.  I feel so comfortable here giving you my prayer partitions.

This dear sweet man is so loved by all and please find some time to include him in your prayers.

Pat, take care of yourself.  Hearing you post about the dentist keeps reminding me that "this filling I lost" will not get fixed until l go to him.

Talk to you later,

Love in CHrist,
JOyce

Oops, I almost forgot,  Marilyn,

Please take care; we will be thinking and praying for you on your journey.

Your angel that is guarding you will have plenty of help from the CP posters here.

Get the "doggies" ready for the trip.  THe hot weather will make them uncomfortable and of course then "mommy" will feel bad.

Take care, hurry up and get settled and post us an update.

Good afternoon all.

I quickly read through the posts as this pc is acting up and needs maintenance.  Pat, I sure hope those antibiotics works wonders...nothing worse than a toothache....especially when you have one.

Good to read Karma's and Travis' in the night talk.  I can hear him now.

Great that Nard dropped in today.  Hello, Nard!

Marilyn, I know you are super busy today getting ready for the big move.  I pray that everything goes smooth for you.

Janet, I, too, look for the green and the words of wisdom.

Papa John, I am praying that that back of yours settles down so you are free of pain.

Mieka, I am happy that you are happy.  I am happy that you are doing things for God each day.  Isn't that a wonderful feeling?

Joyce, good to see you posting.  We miss your posts.

Al, I know you and Marilyn will enjoy each other's company when she gets in her neighborhood.  From her recipes, it looks like she is a great cook!

Larry, that is really tragic about the tree falling on the mother and children.  That could happen around here also.  The ground squishes when you walk on it.

It was a quick trip to Ohio and back.  I am the one with no grandchildren so it was eventful traveling with a 10 year old, a 9 year old and a 4 year old in the back seat.  Plus one of them got a balloon in the restaurant when we stopped for breakfast.  Lydia did go to sleep but then Parker woke her up and she didn't like that.  But all and all they were good little kids.  We got here around 11am so the two-hour drive was good traveling with little traffic.

It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, tho trials should come,

My sin --oh, the bliss of this glorious tho't:
My sin, not in part, but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll,
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Thanks, PAT, I love that song! :)

I am getting ready to go to the Nursing Home to sing again.  A group of us went last month, and the residents have been asking, every day since, "when is that group coming back?"  We are scheduled on their calander now, for every month.  Pastor Bev was with us last month, and we will miss her today ... she claims she'll make it next month, though.  Several others are joining us today, in support of the lady who plays the guitar ... she and Bev are really good friends and Nora has been at the hospital with Bev non-stop ever since she was admitted Monday afternoon.  This will give her a break and help take her mind off other matters.   The Lord will bless all who reach out to bless others.   ;)

Marilyn - you will be heading for some beautiful country ... after you're settled and can find the time, just take a trip further north and check out Coos Bay, OR  Okay?    :D

Just so you know, I won the sleep battle and did not have to get up at 7 with Travis.  He went back to sleep and we didn't wake until Bernard called at 10:10.  ::)

Hehehhe.

I hope everyone is doing well, and maybe I'll be back on later.

I guess I shouldn't complain about 103 here today, considering what Marilyn is enduring, and loading a truck in it too!  Whew!

Papa John you got me!  I knew I'd seen that fella somewhere! ;)  And you obviously know more than I about how to use the technology at our fingertips!

I just stopped in to see what's new around here, and check out any new photos.  See you later!

Oh I'm sure going to pray for Chape as he undergoes his back surgery.

Was that planned, Pat?  I was hoping Beverly and Chape would be going to Calgary next month... I guess not eh?

Iain - I don't know the first hymn you mentioned at all., but "Just as I Am" is one we've sung many times., BUT not for many years.  It is always sung at a Billy Graham crusade I believe.

Marilyn - are gnats like fleas?  Sounds horrible whatever they are.  Were you able to get rid of them?  They must drive the dogs crazy eh.

I'm praying for your safety, Marilyn.

Hi Judy...

Chape has already had his surgery and they are planning on being in Calgary.

Have you never heard that hymn that Iain spoke of even after I posted it?  We used to sing it all the time as we were growing up.  I love that hymn.

I was sure that there were a lot online at once.  I posted my welcome for Jenny and when I went back, there was a dozen post after that.  Well, not a dozen but a lot!!!

Karma, fess up....you aren't a morning person anyway.  You are a night owl!!!

Jane, I hope you had a great time at the Nursing Home singing.  If I could sing, I would love to do that.

Judy, gnats are the little bugs that flies around fruit, too!  Not harmful....just pesky!!  To answer your question before, my sister and I are leaving here the 7th or 8th and are to stay in Calgary the 13th.  Ivalou hasn't seen Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Corn Palace, Wall Drugs etc. so we are going slow to see the country.  I don't mind driving but I don't want to wear myself out, either.

A cool wave has come through Indiana.  And no rain today.  The clouds look like rain but no rain.

Author:  Charlotte Elliott, 1789-1871
Musician:  William B. Bradbury, 1816-1868

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

HYMN HISTORY:

It must be true to say that no sacred song or hymn has been more used to bring sinners to the feet of Jesus, than this one.

Sung by grand choirs in vast crusades as hundreds have come or by congregations, large and small, as one's and two's have come; this hymn has moved the hearts of multitudes.

"Just As I Am," rings with a clear, positive note. It invites the sinner, just as he is, with all his sin, in all his unworthiness, despite his fears, though poor, wretched and blind, to come to the Saviour.

That's an invitation which is absolutely scriptural! We don't need to wait until our lives have been straightened out before we come to Christ. There's nothing we can do which will ever make us more acceptable in God's sight. The Bible clearly teaches that God loves the sinner, just the way he is, and wants him to come like that.

Only Jesus Christ can deliver us from the guilt and penalty of sin. Only He can solve all the problems of life. Only He can give us peace and joy and hope for the future. It was out of her feelings of frustration and hopelessness that the daughter of an Anglican minister in Brighton, England, wrote the words of this fine hymn.

One day in 1833, when Charlotte Elliott was in her forty-fourth year, she was feeling unusually depressed and alone. The other members of her family had gone off to a church function while she, an invalid and bedridden, remained at home.

Before her illness she had lived a happy, carefree life enjoying its many pleasures and gaining a measure of popularity, as a portrait artist.

Now, all of this past and stricken with the sickness which was to plague her for the rest of her life, she felt utterly useless and cut off. In addition, although she had been a Christian for many years, she began to have doubts about her relationship with the Lord. How could she be sure that all was well with her soul?

In her distress she began to list scriptural reasons for believing that she was, indeed, a child of God. She recognised the power of the Saviour's precious blood. She remembered His promise to receive all who come to Him by faith; and His ability to pardon, cleanse and save.

As she meditated on these great truths her heart was warmed and very soon Charlotte Elliott, who was also fond of writing poetry, was putting down her thoughts in verse:

Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

It's just here that we encounter a new slant to the story.

Charlotte Elliott's brother was anxious to start a school to benefit the children of poor clergymen, and had organised a bazaar to raise funds.

It seemed that everybody in the town had helped with the project. Everybody, that is, except Charlotte, who was so stricken with paralysis that she could barely drag herself around her room.

So she published her new poem "Just As I Am," in the hope that from its sale she could contribute something to her brother's school fund.

The poem was instantly successful and was soon selling all over England in large numbers as well as being translated into a number of foreign languages.

Charlotte Elliott never did enjoy good heath for the rest of her life. She remained bedridden until the Lord, at last, called her home when she was eighty-two years old.

However, before her death she received more than a thousand letters of thanks and compliments from people who were grateful that she had written "Just As I Am."

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 6:37

Even after I heard the tune, Pat., I couldn't recall that hymn at all!

Thanks Karma and Etta Sue for explaining "gnats".  Do they resemble "fruit flies" at all?

Pat, you were asking for verses describing "God's goodness?

Would this do?

1 John 1:9:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What could be  a greater love than this?

When my husband wanted to be saved; and asked me how, this is the verse I looked up for him, and had him read.  This is from the NKJV

What could be simpler to understand!

Now, can you put it in words that will fit the little hymn "God Is So Good"?

We're trying to add verses to that hymn (like Karma did).

After re-listening to the music of the first hymn Iain mentioned., it sounded to me like the hymn we sing called: "My Jesus I Love Thee"., I know Thou art mine, etc.  The last line reads something like this: "If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus 'tis now".

Does this sound familiar to anyone? :o

WELCOME, JENNY!! We are so glad to have you join us here! ;D :D :)

"Just As I Am".......oh, the memories that hymn brings to mind, of the little church of my childhood!  Thanks for the history of it, Pat.

Judy, fruit flies are about four times the size of gnats.  Gnats are just about the peskiest, most aggravating little things you can imagine!  They love to get into your eyes, ears, and nose, and just swarm around your head!  They do the same to dogs and other animals.  They are a little bigger than a chigger, and don't bite and make you itch like chiggers, but, boy, can they make you miserable!

From my Webster's Dictionary:

Gnat: 1. Any of various, unrelated, small, two-winged insects, some of which can bite or sting.  2. [Brit.] a mosquito----Strain at a gnat: to hesitate or have scruples about trifles. Matt. 23:24

After reading that, I guess I'm wrong! ???  So maybe chiggers are sometimes called gnats.  But the ones we always called gnats didn't bite or sting, just bothered a lot!

Beth and I are going to the movies tonight to see "Finding Nemo."  Talk to you tomorrow!

JUDY Mc ~  That is exactly the song I have always sung to that tune!  My Jesus I love Thee I know thou art mine; for Thee all the follies of sin I resign ... My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;  If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, 'tis now ...

We had a wonderful time at the nursing home this afternoon.  Nita came ... this is the same nursing home where her mother was, and this is the first time Nita has been able to return there.  Our Pastor Ron (Bev's husband) came, too!   :D  He told us that Bev has been moved from ICU so ... she is "movin' on up!"   God is so good ... ALL THE TIME!

Marilyn, take it easy in the heat ... but save lots of memories because you will not be seeing temperatures in the triple digits once you get to McKinleyville!   8)

I can't comment on each of the posts I've enjoyed, but just to say "I love y'all...and I am wishing you all a very pleasant evening and memorable weekend ... IN HIS PRESENCE!

Hello everyone.  We're back from camping, and we had two days of rain!  But it was fun anyways.  I love camping!  We don't go half often enough.  Mom is home too, and she had a great time!  We camped near where she was doing her conference and we picked her up to bring her home.  So other than being damp and tired, we're great!  Missed a lot here, it looks like.

Marilyn-Praying for a safe journey for you.  God be with you.

Pat-how are you feeling today?  Hope you're not in too much pain.  We'll have to get together and have a bit of a chat.

Karmat-I hear a little fellow was trying pretty hard to get you up early this morning.  Did it work?  ;)
