Morning Devotional...

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Micah 6:8

When God reveals His will, our responsibility is increased.

If He "shows what is good," He requires a response! Our text points to three areas of responsibility.

In personal conduct, we are to "do justly;" in relationships with others, we are to "love mercy;" in our relationship with
God, we are to "walk humbly."

Let us face up to these challenges!
--G. Hall

Like Thee in faith, in meekness, love,
In every heavenly grace,
More of Thine image daily gain,
Till we behold Thy face.

I'm First!!

I feel good  tonght.  The Chiropractor told me to ice the area a coupe of times a day so I have done that  no pain. It is so good to be pain free. Halleujah I did get in a short power nap this afternoon before the phone rang with a prayer chain call.

Thanks Pat for fixing that photo in the gallery for me.

Good morning, all you wild and crazy people.  And the rest of you, as well :)  I hope all of you have a tremendous day.  God bless in a mighty way.

Hi everyone.  I was up about 5:30 this morning and trying to get somethings done before I leave for coffee.  I am preparing the DVD Recovery Disks for my new HP Computer.  A good friend of mine just purchased a new laptop about 7 weeks ago and had the hard drive crash.  He had not prepared the Recovery Disks so he has a problem.  Fortunately it is under warranty but it is not a simple matter of a new hard disk and using the recovery disks.  There is no way for them to restore his copy of Windows and the other programs that came with the computer.  If I had had to use CD's, as I will on Pat's computer, it will take 18 disks to do the backup.  These new computer don't come with any software on disks, it is all contained in a partition of the hard drive and if the hard drive crashes you lose that as well.

Pat and I are going to attend a Bible Study at church this morning.  She has gone before but I haven't and I understand our minister, who conducts these studies, is just an excellent teacher so I am looking forward to the morning.

Janet, I don't know about the sword fighting.  I can just see you now as a swashbuckling pirate waving the sword.  Glad you enjoyed it and it does sound like you would get a lot of exercise.  Janet, it seems only yesterday that Abby was 5 or 6 years old and a little girl.  They sure don't stay little for very long.  It sounds like she is very aware of her world around her.  Don't know how good that is for a child so young but suppose in our society today it can't be avoided.  I so often think of my happy and sheltered childhood where I was allowed to be a child and not burdened with the cares of the world.  All of that came soon enough when I reached adulthood.

Marilyn, glad you are pain free and that the ice helped.  It sounds like your two senior centers are a bit like ours.  The one in our town is very small and has only a couple of active programs, one of which is our Friday men's coffee.  Our other county Senior Center is full of life and activity and that is where we have our SeniorNet Computer Learning Center.  They have a paid staff and keep it open many hours a day.

JudyB, hope you were able to sell a lot of blueberries.  I like blueberries very much particularly since they don't have the many little seeds that Blackberries have.

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.  I love that old hymn about "Power in the Blood".

Hi Nards.

Pat and I both enjoyed having the only full-time missionary in our church visit us last evening and share a meal.  I helped her for about 4 hours in learning to use Publisher and PaintShopPro for the newsletter she prepares every month.  She told us she is going to have to affiliate with a different segments of the Presbyterian Church (PCA rather than PCUSA) as they are the ones sponsoring the mission activities she is involved with.  The first two years she was part-time and now will become a full-time medical missionary.  She puts together and leads medical teams to mainly Latin America countries where they work alongside a local church.  She was very interesting.  She must raise all of her own support for these efforts and has many financial and prayer partners supporting her.

Hope this is a great day for everyone.  Hi to all who join us later today.

Larry, I agree about kids becoming aware of things way too early now.  Knowledge has doubled and re-doubled in recent years; I think kids have to be BORN smarter these days.  But I was surely startled when Abby told me their subjects of conversation!  By the way, I asked, and she said they like Dolly Parton because she is a Christian, writes her own songs, and helps a lot of children.  And they do not like the other group.  ;)  I'm sure I did not discuss these kinds of subjects at the tender age of almost nine!

Glad you had a good visit and were able to help the missionary, Larry.  A person has to really want to help others to do all that is required in raising all their own support to do it.

Hi, Ohenry!  Hi, Nards!  Hi, Marilyn!

I'm getting things together to go to Garden City with Beth.  I have some things to return to a couple of stores, and have to have her shake and mine ready to mix and drink.  We are on our way to being very healthy, by the grace of God.  :) 8)

They are talking on the 700 Club about all the childhood diseases being brought on by obesity.  Oh, my!  :(

I shall return.

Pat:  Thank you for today's devotion.

Good morning to you, Henry!  Enjoy your day!

Judy:  I would love your blueberries.  Hope you sell everything needed.  I made a tart cherry pie this week from a neighbors joint property line tree.  It has been super.

Larry:  Your tutoring of the computer to your missionary is like giving gold.  What exeriences she has to share - I envy her "Good Works".

Janet:  Our Elise turned 9 in May - what a fun age just as your Abby.  Enjoy your imaginary pirate exercise!

Off this afternoon to church quilting.  My right foot is still swelling daily so will see how this works out.  It doesn't help to be into the 90 degree temps and having to wear compression hose.  Yuk!

Carol---oof!  I had to wear those hose while pregnant, and will never forget what a struggle I had getting them on!  Not fun.  God bless you, and I pray your foot will soon be back to WELL.

A little morning inspiration.  This was taken last night while I was photographing the events for Vacation Bible School.  Hope you enjoy it.

Good Morning Everyone...

Carl, that's a lovely photo.  It's so nice to remember that He is not still on the cross but He is risen from the dead as He promised!   What a great reminder!

Hello to the rest of you.  It's great to hear from you.

I just wish that more of you would visit our wonderful Gallery and leave some comments.  We have so many nice photos in there.

It's raining very heavily here today.  We really needed it though so it's good to get.  It's supposed to taper off later on.

Talk to you later.

With all the rain we're having here in Guelph, I was reminded of this lovely oldie.

"There shall be showers of blessing." Ezekiel 34:26

Words: Daniel W. Whittle, 1883; first appeared in Gospel Hymns No. 4.
Music: James McGranahan, 1883

There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

Refrain

Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

Refrain

There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

Refrain

There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

Refrain

There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

Refrain

Marilyn ~ The more I read about others chiropractor experiences, I am believing that mine was only out for $$$$$.  I know that I sure couldn't walk in and ask for an adjustment and get one without x-rays, consultation and a plan for at least 6-weeks of treatments twice a week.  $$$$  But certainly glad that you are pain-free now.  Doesn't that feel wonderful?

Nards ~ Uh, did you get a Mary Kay treatment from you DW?  What a difference your make-up makes!!!

Larry ~ I am sure you and Pat enjoyed talking with your missionary.  With your knowledge of the computer, I am sure you taught her and gave her a lot of help so her missionary duties will become easier and faster.

ohenry ~ Good morning to you, too!  The cross is the most awe-inspiring sight for my eyes to see.  Next, the Old Glory!!

Janet ~ I agree...kids are born smarter today.  My two g-nieces talk about things that never entered my mind to talk about until I was married.  And I mean intellegent things.  But in other ways they are childish so I guess it evens out.  Have a safe trip to Garden City...the first time we drove through Garden City, we were stopped by a July 4 parade going through town.  First time I ever saw that many horses in a parade.  You have to remember, it is tractors in Indiana...not horses!!

Carol ~ I know you will enjoy the church quilting gathering.  Was there a way to elevate your foot?  I know sitting with your feet down causes me to swell sometimes.  Take care of that foot!

Pat ~ Thank you for the music you post.  Have you and Kathleen caught up on your visiting yet?

Well, when you hear 'the check is in the mail', you wonder.  But I got my check from the Dentist yesterday.  Now I need to go to the bank and probably stop by Dollar General, too.

Another cloudy, rainy day in Indiana.  I was going to mow but not today!!

God Bless You All!

I was wondering what happened to you face Nards. I thought maybe you were getting ready for botox injections or extreme makeover. Now I see you are wearing a new kind of makeup for men.  :lol:

Janet how was you day out and about with Beth? Did ya have  good time.?

Yeah Etta Sue I think your chiropractor was out to take you for all he could get. Once you have the initial set of X rays done why would you need more unless you had a new injury. I only go when I need to go and don't have x rays when I know what the problem is myself I just tell him what need and this is a new Chiropractor too. I have degenerative disc disease  between Cervical 6 and 7 the disc  gets mashed down from the vertabra being out of place and pinches the nerve, thus excruciating  pain.  I need traction to pull the vertebra apart and then an adjustment.  Medicare pays for part of it and my insurance covers the rest.

Hey!  I just got here, now he's trying to get rid of me already!  Hmmph.

This is inspiring me to do something even crazier.  Maybe I can find a facial tattoo artist cheap.  Oh, I can't take time off work for THAT!  :)

It took a few days for Karma to get used to me looking like this.  Now she threatens to beat me if I don't freshen up every time we go out!

Har har har!

Yeah, RIGHT, Nards!  But please don't vanish!  We love you, however your face is made up.  ;)

Marilyn, in a word---NO.  I did NOT have a good time out and about with Beth today.  Unless you can have fun sitting in a crowded little waiting room at a doctor's office for over THREE HOURS.  :ticked:  I didn't even have time to exchange some things at a couple stores like I needed to do; once we got out of there, it was straight home.  >:(  And all they did was straight cath her to drain her bladder and write orders for the nursing home to do that 4 to 6 times daily.  The nurses didn't like those orders at all.  They want to put a Foley in and leave it; but the doctors say those cause too many infections.   :-\

We are off to a reunion meeting for our Walk to Emmaus, and it is in Lakin, thus the big hurry to get home.  See you all tomorrow.
