Morning Devotional...

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price..Incline your ear, and come unto Me: hear, and your soul shall live.
Isaiah 55:1, 3

A young lady I know, serves and witnesses to the homeless in our community.  She helps by providing them with food and getting them out of the cold. Her love for these people typifies the Lord's love for all who are spiritually hungry, homeless and cold.

By believing that Jesus' sacrificial death at Calvary is payment for your sin, God will open wide the gates of a new home in Heaven for you.

Trust Him today.

TRUST AND OBEY (http://members.rogers.com/scott4275/sounds/trustobey.mid)
(Click to hear music)

When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey,
for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.

(Refrain)

But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.

(Refrain)

Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.

(Refrain)

Jane I reread what I wrote and I see I was about to resize the horses not  some photos that I took.  :lol:  I am still laughing.

Jane, I had the same thought about Marilyn's horses, and then thought, I sure hope they don't leave any deposits behind!  :lol:

Larry, I'm so sorry about your rough day.  And sorry about Pat's diagnosis, that reumatoid arthritis is a bad actor, and I hope she gets relief from it very soon.  Car batteries are so expensive now, aren't they?  Glad your son is near enough to help you folks out, that's a real blessing.  I'm still praying for you all.

Abby had a great birthday.  Her main gift was an electronic keyboard, and her dad and brother Mark had fun playing with it before she got a chance at it!  ;)  They just had them, us, and her great-grandma Wayland, (who is now 101 years young!) for the party.  She will have a sleep-over party with three girlfriends later.  Darrel and I cooked dinner and took it down, so that gave Diane a break, and more time to work on getting things out of the bedroom and getting ready for new carpet in the morning.

We are leaving early in the morning, to go to Haviland to help with the summer Walk to Emmaus.  Then we will go over to Pratt to spend the night with dear friends who moved from here a few years ago.  On Sunday, we will go help with the Walk some more, then come home.

Oh, yes, Larry!  I have to write EVERYTHING on the calendar, or I would be forgetting/missing things all the time!  Darrel was looking at it the other day and saying "What IS all this?"  and I told him most of it is for me, and if it requires his attention, I will remind him.  What would guys do without wives?  ;) 8)

Anthony, how is your Mom?  I do hope you have been able to get the needed medical care for her by this time.

I'm sitting right in fron of the AC and getting too cold, better head to bed now.

Good evening y'all.  Pat we sang Trust and Obey on Sunday.  I really like that song.

So good to see all who are posting.  Sorry not posting much, Terry is still not better, but not much worse!  I just ask that you pray for him when you can.

Blessings,
Samantha :)

Good evening, all.  I just looked at my little clock and actually it's tomorrow already.  Good morning! :) :)

Pat, I'm praying for your friend in Lebanon.   Having never been near war, I can't imagine what they're going through. :(

Candice, your prayer was so moving for me.  I know God felt the same way. :)  Bless you, little sister.   We are blessed to have such young believers rising up as yourself.  I'm always so impressed with the wisdom and passion of the next generation.  I'm glad you are here, and glad to meet you.

I've had a good day today with almost no back pain.  I was able to vacuum, which was so exciting for me. lol  It's been a long time.  God is good. I've always been a grateful person, but I find gratitude to the Lord overflowing lately.  How very rich this undeserving person is!  His Mercy is greater than I'll ever comprehend.  I just receive. :)

I've been over looking at CANDY.  Some great photos there.

Marilyn, that's funny about your resizing horses.  I never knew anyone who could do that. lol

Trust And Obey....wonder how many times we've sang that song?  It's so beautiful when they slow it down some and let us sing it with our hearts.  I love it.  I don't know what the song sounded like.  When I clicked on the music, it took me to something about Rogers high speed internet.  Strange.

I'm ready for bed, so g' night everyone. :)  Blessings,  nita

good morning everyone!
it is so cool to see how everyone's day went, what they're doing and so on. i've been a part of other forums but this one just feels really housewarming-ish. i've been welcomed numerous times and given so many encouraging words it's so nice.

Well today looks like work and then going to a family reunion. i don't think i'm going to be enjoying the family reunion as much just because it's supposed to be like 95 degrees! but then i'm going over a friends house and swimming, which will be a nice. i think later in the night we're going to one of the bizarres in our area and getting some potato pancakes and all that greasy food.

the only thing i ask is, tomorrow is my best friends graduation party. granted the term best friend has now become distant because there is tons going on between us and a lot of other people in our youth group; but still the same it's going to be super hard for me.  he's leaving for florida next month and for what seems like forever he's been always there for me. so to see him leave it's going to be rough. this morning i'm probably going to write him some type of letter to give with the picture i'm giving him, [which was hard enough to think up, what to give your best friend for a present] but as of our current situation it's almost going to be awkward going to the party. so prayers just might be needed to survive.  ;)

love always,
candice

Hello,

We have had strange computer slow-down and it has been impossible to do anything but this moment things are working well.  Today, we are to hit 102 degrees -

Larry:  Such a tough time for you yesterday - and I hope that Pat's numbers can be changed & that she starts feelling better.

Etta Sue:  It is on acreage overlooking Flathead Lake & just the most beautiful place - close to Glacier but the temperatures are mild even in the wintertime.

Pat:  Thanks for the notice on Alma's home being in fire danger and the note from your friend in Lebanon.  What a sad state of affairs all around.

Our daughter is having a house guest for a week or so.  He is a pro hockey coach (23 yrs old) from Slovakia.  He is teaching the team Reid plays for this summer  - such an experience for the household.  I have not heard at all about his religion or lack thereof.

Have a peaceful weekend all.  Yes, pray for peace in the mideast as Nita wrote.

Special Greetings to all the young people in this forum.  We enjoy your fresh input!!!
Carol

Well, we got all the paperwork done at the hospital yesterday, so now it's just waiting for this coming Wednesday to get it over with.  Thanks for the prayers.  Sure appreciate your presence with us, Candice - enjoy that energy and livliness - it'll go away soon enough!

Gotta go over to the church this morning.  They're reroofing, and they've got a crew, and they need coffee, so Marbeth and I go over and get it ready before they get there.  They should get the rest of the old roof off today, then they can start on the new.  Pray there are no injuries.

God grant to everyone a day full of joy in Him!

Good Morning I have resized some photos of the Clydesdale Horses you can see them in my gallery.

I am taking Fay grocery shopping today.  Then the afternoon is mine. I will walk the dogs and water the yard. I am going to have to take my screen door off and lay it down so I can fix the screen, it is coming out from under the rubber that holds it in place. I don't think I ill be doing that today.

Thank you for the responses to my query yesterday, JudyB and Jane for your emails. I will continue to pray about this and not jump into anything  to quickly. I appreciate any prayers that will be said to help me. I have seen complete families leave and not come back. Other families are talking about leaving.

I feel like God is the one who planted me in this church for a reason. But I don't know the reason anymore. Right now my mind is just boggled thinking about all this.

I had a very enjoyable evening last night with Tony and Charlene.  We ate at "At The Border' in Indy then stopped at Menards for Tony and Charlene some new border lights for their sidewalk.  Then to their house.  It was so pleasant last evening that we sat on their patio and talked until it started sprinkling.  And yes, they did get a different Harley!

My doorbell rang this morning at 8:30 and sure enough, it was Tony on Ruby....his red Harley.  I guess you have to break them in like you used to have to break in cars.  Go slow for so many miles, then faster for so many miles and then all out after that.  I have to make myself not worry about the 'all out after that'.  But again, I am happy that they both enjoy cycle riding.  And there is nothing like the sound of a Harley!!

Ivalou just called and we chatted awhile.  Seems these two granddaughters, 13 and 7, are at each other all the time.  What one wants to do, the other doesn't.  What one wants to eat, the other doesn't.  What one wants to watch on TV, the other doesn't.  I think she is ready for Mom to come get them!  Ivalou is getting tired of saying, 'Okay, pick a number between 1 and 10 and which ever one is the closest, they get to choose what to do, eat or watch.'

Looks like Indiana is having a pleasant day today.  Bright and sunny!

Hi everyone from a very hot and humid Atlanta area.  I just now heard a thunder clap as I was getting ready to say I sure hope we get some rain.  My poor yard is so thirsty as is everything outside in Georgia now.

I must have sounded woeful yesterday when I posted.  I sure wasn't complaining but just telling you about my day.  However, I sure appreciate your expressions of concern.  This is indeed a caring group.

Etta Sue, we have several "On the Border" Mexican restruarants in our area and are getting one closer now in the new shopping center that is to open later this year.  We have eaten in one of them a couple of times and the food was good.  It sounds like Ivalou is wearing down and that she would get along better with one of the granddaughters at a time.

Marilyn, I hope you have a splining tool before you tackle getting the screening beneath the rubber that holds it in place.  It is a special tool that is like a wheel and makes the job possible.  However, if the screen has been cut to just fit you may find you have an impossible job.  You can get a screen replacement filament at Home Depot or hardware store.  I have had to replace a couple of screens including the one on my screened in porch.  Those Clyedales are really something to see in person.  I have seen them several time and always enjoy it.

Al, coffee is what keeps workmen going.  You do a good work there.  Glad you don't try to get on a roof.

Hi Ohenry.

Carol, that lake home sounds wonderful and I can image the setting.  Hope you will get some photos when you go there and share them with us.

Candice, I hope the going away party isn't too hard for you.  I know that relationships at your age (or any age for that matter) can be tough at times for a variety of reasons.  Hope you enjoy the swim.

Nita, glad your back is doing better.  You do know that vacuuming is considered one of the hardest household chores.  Hope you had no relapse from having done it.

Samantha, sorry to read that Terry hasn't improved.

Janet, is Abby going to take piano lessons with her new keyboard.  These new electronic keyboards are really great.  Mine is a very good substitute for a large piano as the touch is similar and the keys the same size.  The nice thing is that they don't go out of tune.

Pat, thanks for the fine devotional message today.

I am sitting here nursing a skinned up knee. I went to the Happy for a walk, we got across the street and I tripped and fell. I dropped the leash then reached out and grabbed it real quick before he decided to take off.  Got the bleeding stopped and used some Krazy glue to glue the two flaps down after I cleaned it good. Later on after I shower I will put a bandage on my knee.  Needless to say the dogs may not get a walk today.

No much else is new here.

Special Greetings to all the young people in this forum.  We enjoy your fresh input!!!
Carol

Why, thank you Carol.  I will try to keep my young input as fresh as I can!  Or should that be fresh input as young as I can? :lol:

I tried to take some picts of some little chocolate-strawberry cream squares last night, but they kept getting all over my fingers and melting...in my mouth, so I gave up, and Casey and Midori helped me get rid of the nasty things ;D.

It's Sunday Morning here, and I just feel like praising His Name!!

Psalms 150

     Hallelujah!
   Praise God in his holy house of worship,
      praise him under the open skies;
   Praise him for his acts of power,
      praise him for his magnificent greatness;
   Praise with a blast on the trumpet,
      praise by strumming soft strings;
   Praise him with castanets and dance,
      praise him with banjo and flute;
   Praise him with cymbals and a big bass drum,
      praise him with fiddles and mandolin.
   Let every living, breathing creature praise God!
      Hallelujah!

Because He Lives (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/becausehelives2.mid)
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by William J. Gaither
copyright 1971

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Matthew 28:6

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

All these people falling down and getting injured...BE CAREFUL OUT THERE  :)

I played a round of golf this morning, enjoying the beauty God created around me.  The pastor's wife (who just happens to be our neighbor) brought us over some lovely fresh picked blueberries...yum.  My wife will be heading off to Alaska for another 10 days tomorrow after services.  When she returns, we'll be heading off to Bandon on the Oregon Coast for a few days RV'ing with some other church folks.
