Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.[/b]
2 Corinthians 6:2

The little three-letter word "now" serves as an antechamber to a seven-room house of blessings for the Christian:

  • Salvation is now (2 Cor. 6:2).

  • Freedom from judgement is now (Rom. 8:1).

  • Justification is now (Rom. 5:9).

  • Righteousness is now (Rom. 3:21-22).

  • Nearness to God is now (Eph. 2:13).

  • Sonship is now (1 Jn. 3:2).

  • Intercession on our behalf is now (Heb. 9:24).
—Ross Rainey

Now in a song of grateful praise,
To Christ, the Lord, our voice we'll raise;
With all Thy saints we'll join to tell:
Christ Jesus "hath done all things well"!

The Lord Christ (#20050715)

by Henry Morris, Ph.D.

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ" (Colossians 3:23-24).
This is the only verse in the Bible where our Savior is called "the Lord Christ." Actually, His three primary names ("Lord," "Jesus," and "Christ") are combined in eight different ways in the New Testament.

"Jesus" was His human name, speaking especially of His mission as suffering Savior. "Christ," equivalent to the Hebrew "Messiah" (meaning "anointed") speaks of His office as God's chosen King. As "Lord" He is sovereign Creator and ruler of the universe; victorious over all enemies, even death itself.

"Lord Christ" is the only one of the combination forms of His name which omits the human name. Apparently the reason is that, in this passage, the emphasis is altogether on His exalted position as sovereign Creator and eternal King and the seriousness of our service to Him.

Our service is to be rendered not to men--not even to the man Jesus in His perfect humanity--but to the Lord and the Christ--the Lord Christ, Creator of all things and King of kings. "Your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (I Corinthians 15:58) for He is "heir of all things" (Hebrews 1:2) and thus can dispense "the reward of the inheritance" to His faithful servants who are "joint-heirs with Christ" (Romans 8:17). The inheritance is ours because of our position in Christ; the reward is given for service for the Lord.

Because of whom we serve, whatever we do should be done heartily! This is the Greek word, psuches, usually translated "soul," or "life," as well as "heart." If there is anything we cannot in good conscience do with full heart to the Lord, then it should not be done at all. HMM

Happy Birthday, Judy!

A little story of praise this morning.  We have been camping in the hills.  The very first day, we were driving over a mountain pass pulling a trailer and beginning the downslope drive when the engine on the SUV lost all power and almost every bit of brake was gone.  Don was either going to have to go to the right and hit rocks or try to brake at a parking spot on the left, however, there was no guard rail and the cliff was one from which you never return.  With the help of all the angels, he "stood on the brakes" and actually stopped within 8 feet of the dropoff.  We were just spent after that time - apparently, this vehicle isn't supposed to have a vapor lock but it did - and there were two other problems before we set up the trailer that late afternoon.  Don asked me if I had said a prayer of thanks and ashamed to say that I could not even think straight but we do give many thanks for our safety this week.  There must be a message  in that incident and I would say that I need to prioritize my prayers.  We always pray for a safe drive and for our children and do give thanks daily.

I am thankful that I can  post this message to people who can understand what blessings we have each and every day.

Hi everyone.  Carol, I can't even imagine how frightening that experience was for you.  Don must be a good driver.

Not much new here.  I don't have anyting on my schedule today other than recooping from the busy day I had yesterday.  I went to coffee, the grocery store, my retirees luncheon and then to Calvin Cove.  I didn't get home until about 3 pm and was really tired.  However, a little nap revived me for the evening and I slept well last night.  I will just take it easy today.  I went to the men's coffee at the Senior Center but that was the only thing on the calendar.  Pat went to the county Senior Center to get out of the house for awhile.  She enjoys working on a jigsaw puzzle that is always underway there or playing some games.  I am glad to see her feel up to getting out of the house.

Janet, I know your heart is breaking to see Beth get so bad so quickly.  I certainly hope the steriods will bring some improvement.  It sounds like you must insist on taking the wheelchair with you so it is there if you need it.  I know we all wish there was something we could do to help Beth or you and Darrell at this very difficult time.  Of course, we are praying for you all.  Glad to read that Darrell is doing well.

I read the past messages late last evening and can't remember what I was going to say so will make this brief today.  It was good to see Tbear and several others we haven't heard from in a few days posting as well as those that regularly post.  I hope everyone will have a good day.

Happy Birthday Judy!

Yea, it's Friday.

If you think of it, please say a prayer for Bernard today.  He had to fly from Asheville to Atlanta, then to Oklahoma City.  Then, they are driving to Ardmore (?), OK ot visit a plant there.  Then, drive back to OC, fly to Cincinnati, and back home to Asheville tonight.  shew.  makes me tired to type it.

Janet, I was thinking and praying of/for you and Beth the other night.  Wish I had a magic wand that I could go *poof* and it would all be better.  :-\

Hope that heat wave Pat has is broken some.  We've been fortunate to have a mild, though wet, summer so far.

Laters.

Janet

Carol, I am so thankful for the watchcare of the angels over you and Don!  My, that was scary.  A lot of those mountain roads are very hazardous, even for vehicles in the best of repair.

Larry, thank you for your kind words.  Yes, from now on I will take the wheelchair along, even though lifting it in and out of the car has caused me to develop tendonitits (said the dr. today) and my arm pain is keeping me awake at night.  I can really empathize with you today, as I got up feeling very tired this morning, and have a full day today, so no time to rest.  I took Beth to therapy and then to the doctor; have some framing to work on, got the frames ordered, and my ladies will be arriving to paint in a little while.  I'm glad your Pat is feeling better, too.

Karma, (((hugs))) to you for your prayers in our behalf.  And I will pray for Nard's safety and that he has a profitable trip as well.  That sounds like a lot of traveling in one day!  How are little Trav and Kristi?  Give them a hug for me, will you?

Hi, Marilyn!  Hello, Soni!  ((hugs))

I will try to post again this evening if I am not completely wiped out.

smokeyging ~ 'Footprints' is a reminder that we are never alone.  Can you imagine the joy a new believer feels when they realize this?

Jane ~ I can't imagine the joy you are feeling knowing you will be with your daughters and grandkids.  God Bless All of You.

Sarah ~ How are your boo boo's today?  Hope they aren't too bad.  You were playing kinda hard, weren't ya?  Edit: After reading your post for today, I see you didn't have time to think about your boo boo yesterday!  What a long day for you but happy the inspector was pleased.

Soni ~ Thanks on the devotion.  Glad you mentioned Mieka.  I will start turning on Yahoo IM now.

Karma ~ Laundry?  Do you ever get caught up on laundry?  I mowed today.  Dry today with a little moisture in the grass.  Nards will be tired from all that transferring of planes.  Flying does tire you out!  I am praying for his safety.

Marilyn ~ I have been praying for just the right house for you and the dogs.  He will provide.  And that was thoughtful of Fay to let you have Thursdays off.

Karen ~ I will pray for all your concerns.  I know you will have a great trip east and the highlight will be to see your son also.  I am praying everything goes well.  Hi Kayln!

Janet ~ Great news of Darrell.  And the news for Beth...at least, they can ease her pain and discomfort with steroids and potassium.  So sad to hear of her getting bad so fast.  I turned on Yahoo IM but Mieka wasn't there.  She is a jewel, that girl is.  And thanks for mentioning my graphics.  I sometimes feel they go unnoticed but they give me joy as well so I use them.  And thanks on the devotion.  Get some rest...you need it!  Happy Birthday, Abby!!

Sue ~ Is it still hot and humid up there?  It sure is here.  But I do have A/C which helps tremendously!

Pat ~ Yikes!  A mouse!  Another reason my girls are house kitties.  So far no mice in the house...dead or alive!!

JudyB ~ Happy Birthday, Judy!!  All the Farmer's Markets around here are going strong.  You can't beat garden grown tomatoes and green beans.  Yummmmm!

Al ~ What a beautiful prayer for Beth and Janet.

That was replies to yesterday's post.  Where is the clickable to go to today's post?  Is it me?  This has happened quite often since we got the new and improved work done a few weeks back.  Manually went to todays NEM....

Pat ~ Great devotion...great thoughts.

Carol ~ I remember our car vapor locking in Colorado once and we weren't pulling a trailer behind us.  Scary thing!  All my husband could do was downshift and pray.  We were on the road between Durango and Ouray, I think!  Scary!  So happy that your husband 'stood' on the brakes and got stopped just in time.  God was with you.

Larry ~ It is so good to hear you are getting out....that makes me feel you are okay.  Just don't do too much and watch this heat.  God Bless You.

designtrade ~ I can't remember where you live now but where do you think you will be moving?  I guess I am a pretty stable person...I have never lived anywhere but Indiana.

Like I say I mowed today.  It has been pretty rainy the last few days...tail end of the hurricane.  But today it is cloudy, then sunny, then cloudy again with a nice breeze.  But HOT!

Just talked to Bernard.  They are back in OC waiting for a plane.  Theirs is scheduled to take off at 8 pm (my time), and they were hoping to get an earlier one, but they are all full.  Oh well. . .

Gotta go "separate" the kids.  They are picking on eachother, again.  What will happen when Kristi can actually move and stuff. ???

Nita

Hello all.  Sorry I haven't been around much.  I've been "down" (as in my recliner)with my back still.  Last night was the first time I've slept in my bed for almost a week.   It feels better today, but now I've got a bladder infection.  Wheh!  I'm drinking tons of water and seeing how it goes.

Janet, I think of you and your family and pray for you.  The steroids will give Beth some relief.  Won't they?  I lifted Ron's wheelchair in and out of the car for years.  I know, even though you are there to do it, your body does resist after awhile.
Blessings to you, dear lady.

Carol!!  That would be so scarey!  Praise God for His angels all around you, and especially that one who was standing on the brakes with Don.   How long did it take you to breathe again?

Jane is with her girls now.  I've been praying this trip will be everything she wants it to be.......the coming together of her family, healing and reconnecting.  She's wanted this for as long as I've known her.  She was so afraid she was losing her grandchildren after her daughter, Jean, died.  She always says, "God is soooo good!"  I know she's basking in that now.

Karmat,   So Kristi is busy picking on her big brother?   I think picking on each other must be in their DNA.....ready to get going the minute they come into the world, look around, and find a watching sibling.  Aha!  You're the one. :)

ok...back to the recliner.  I'm really grateful for my recliner.      Nita

Home form work, cool anmd nice here today but when I got up at 5:45 the fog was very thick.

Janet have you given thought to getting a caregiver for Beth for part of the time  to do the heavy stuff. Since she is on SSI she would qualify for the state to pay a caregiver. Even you could get paid to be her caregiver. You shouldn't be trying to do all that work by yourself.

Larry
good to hear that you are doing a little better with a little more energy, not so tired all the time. I do hope you rest some each day and don't overdo yourself.

Karma, I said a prayer for Nards.

Carol how scary can you get. Thank you Jesus that you are safe and for your husbands good thinking.

Etta Sue I got out in my back yard yesterday and got the weed eating done. Thank you for your prayers. They aren't doing much work around here so I may have longer than it appears just now. If they don't get it done by the time the rain starts I may be here until next year. HA HA  :o

Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone.  Pat I received a snail mail card from Murray,  he is always faithful in doing that isn't he!

I was at the static display this afternoon.  It was interesting as Erb Truck Lines has a race car that they run the circuit with.  The driver let Melaura sit in the drivers seat and dream a little.  There was a lady whom I recognized asking if any of the people there would like to buy a "bunk quilt".  The bunks are typically narrow and long and it is often hard to get suitable bedding.  We told her we were with Open Road Chapels and she asked for prayer for her young grand daughter.  This poor wee one had a kidney transplant at a year and a half.  There have been ongoing problems since.  The profits from the quilts goes toward the heavy expence of medications.  So if you folks can keep 5 year old Marie in your prayers the family would appreciate it.

Tomorrow is the actual roadeo, and the dinner is after the finish of the roadeo.

Well I will close for now
Blessings to all of you.

Etta Sue - be assured of one thing - I ALWAYS think your graphics are terrific!

Sarah - you better slow down or you'll get old before you get older!

Hi Everyone...

Janie, it's so-o-o-o good to see you posting.  You've been missed.  Hurry back!

I've been working "down in the basement" of CP today.  Karma and I are trying to get the forums re-organized and you'll notice that all of the games have been moved today.

BAsement is a good way to describe it. . .

I don't know what is going on with our internet -- I can stay connected only for a few minutes at a time.  With my thought processes, I don't get a lot done in a few minutes.  :P  It's a bit aggravating.

Talked to nards when he was leaving Oklahoma City.  Should be landing in Cincinnati any minute now, and leaving for Asheville in about an hour, home around midnight, our times.  :)  Everytime a plane flew overhead, today, Travis would run to look at it and ask fi that was the one nard was on. Then, around the time nard usually gets home (Travis was missing him, then), I heard him say, "Daddy, is that you up there.  Daddy?  Daddy, please use your parachute and come down here."  I think I about cried.  So, we called and let him talk to his daddy. :)

Gonna go for now.  The in-laws are here, and I here Travis "preaching" to them.  Now, that, my friends, is someting I wish you could hear!!!!!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I had the blessing of being in a single moms bible study last night (first meeting at our church. What a blessing! Four of the women are recovering addicts who really need support and prayer and love. One of them is studying her bible "big time" and someone was speaking about a husband, and she shyly hung her head and grinned. When asked, she located the passage in Isaiah, and read it to us. She said she had asked the Lord about whether she could have a husband, and God gave her the verse that said "I will be your husband." And, she seemed quite satisfied with that.

As a single person for the last 34 years, I've leaned on that same verse very often for comfort when I felt I didn't know which way to turn.

But, when I got in my foot was so swollen inside the cast that it throbbed terribly (and I kept it propped up on a folding chair seat the entire time I was there. So, not much rest last night.

And, here it is, about 9:30 again, and the foot has swelled up again. Guess I'll need to continue to make sitting "up" a short-term thing and lie down and rest a lot when I'm not working.

Oh, well, we all do so much unterstand that the trying of our faith works patience, and I'm afraid I need a lot a patience to go through this slow healing process.

Yet, this break is such a minor thing, I should not bother you with it. God is good all the time, isn't He!

Janet, I would imagine that the handicap services can arrange for a lift to be installed to help you get the wheelchair into and out of the trunk. When I need to purchase a scooter, I really hope to be able to get a lift for it, as well.

Must go and get the leg up - but will stop in the Tennessee discussion on Seniornet before heading to bed.

I love each of you.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Kathy

I just enjoy reading about all of everything each of you are doing.  I love to see your graphics, Etta Sue, Pat, Marilyn, Janet.

I'm praying for you, Janet, and for Beth.  And most of all for your strength to hold up.

Ruth Ann, when my foot was broken and healing....I have a chair here beside my computer that I could rest my leg in while I typed.  Otherwise, I used the recliner and pillows  to keep the leg up.  I pray that your swelling goes down.  It is not too much fun to sleep with the cast on...but it can be done.

God bless each of you and will hopefully posts tomorrow!!!  Saturday!!! Hurray!!!
Sleep late day~~~. :)

Good Evening from a cloudy & wet island.  Talked to Jane today and they have arrived safely.  We had a nice chat on the phone and it was pleasant to sort of meet her....I did try for sunny weather and will pray again tonight...Oh well, they keep lots of umbrella's at Butchart gardens, so they will still be able to watch the fireworks tomorrow evening :'(

Glad that they did not come a couple of days earlier.  An American & his 14 yr. old daughter had a pipe bomb in their vehicle on the Coho Ferry.  He was arrested and sent back and his daughter was sent back to her mother's home.  Lord Love a Duck!!

Sarah, you wore me out with your day's activities.  Designtrade, that livestock awards sounds interesting.  Were you involved in any way?  Nice to see both of you gals posting.

Karmat, I read all the back posts and was real impressed with the answer to Soni's question.  Was pondering that and found what you posted to be really helpful.  Keep on with the questions, Soni.  We can all learn something.

Janet, I am so sorry about all the problems and will simply keep on praying for everyone.  Also for Marilyn and her home situation.

Must go now and try to round up Misty and bring her inside.  She is getting real hard to find at bedtime.  Pleasant dreams all and God Bless.
