What Is The Importance Of Obedience?
1 Kings 8:60-61 says...
That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.
Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

James 1:22 says...
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Morning Devotional...How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation? Heb. 2:3
Neglect, like a thief, operates silently and subtly.
It is only after a long period of neglecting our health, our home, or our business that the full extent of the damage becomes apparent. By then, recovery may be impossible.
How much more serious is the neglect of "so great salvation"!
God has no greater Messenger than His Son; He has no more important message than the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. If we neglect it, we shall be losers for eternity.
There will then be no escape!
Come to Him today.
--G. HallListen to the invitation,
while He's crying, Come!
If you miss the great salvation,
hell will be your doom.
There's no reason you should linger
one more day in sin
Friends are praying; Christ is pleading.
Come now, enter in!
For Karma...Karma, several of us have a really good friend on SeniorNet who reads CP and she saw your S.O.S. for help with that blue/black graphic.
Here's hers... (done with PSP8)
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fchristianphotographers.com%2Fforum%2Fgraphics%2Fbunnie_blackblue.jpg&hash=c4e14df2ed72d43fb8b298f1f2fe3f75fa6880f5)
And here's how she did it...
From Bunnie...This is what I did for the black to blue.....Chose the two colors for foreground and background boxes.
Clicked on the gradient button on one box. Angle-0 Repeat-0 and clicked on the Edit button. Chose Foreground-background, adjusted the dividing point and clicked on OK. When satisfied with what I had, clicked on OK on the Material box and filled my square.
And she says, "Thanks" as she learned something new! LOL
REVELATION 7 : 17 NIV
For the Lamb at the center of the
throne will be their Shepherd;
He will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes.
What a beautiful picture!
The One who died for us will
nourish and refresh us.
The One whom all eternity hinges
will take time to personally comfort us.
No wonder Paul could say that he did not consider
his present sufferings worth comparing to the glory
that would be revealed in us! ( Romans 8 : 18)
PRAYER...
Father God and Sovereign Lord
of all Creation, thank You for
Your incredible love for me.
While i know i don't deserve Your
overwhelming and generous grace,
i rejoice in it.
While i know my best attempts at
honoring You fall short, thank You
for promesing to welcome me into Your
presence, care for me, and comfort me
when i come home to You.
Your love o Lord, is beyond my
comprehension and exhausts my
apprecation while filling my heart
with wonder and praise.
In Jesus name i praise You. Amen.

Good morning! I am up and catching up on here while Darrel and Abby are still peacefully sleeping. It is cloudy and cool----great sleeping weather!
Yes, Larry, Abby will be in first grade this year. Last night she made four candles with a kit I got her for her birthday. They use powdered candle wax in vibrant colors, and you pour the wax into shaped glass votives. She did a crescent moon, star, butterfly and fish. Then of course, we had to light one of them. She will take one or more to the fair.
Larry, I hope you got your screen reinforced. I used to be the maintenance person for the low income housing here, and boy, I did a LOT of screen door repairs. I think if I were you, if the bottom part of the screen is separate, I would be very tempted to put a stronger type of material on it, like maybe expanded aluminum. That would prevent the cat running through it, but still allow air circulation. Just an idea.
As soon as these two wake up, we will be getting ready to head for Dodge City. Beth called last night to remind me. I asked her if she really thought I would forget about her?? ;D
I guess we will have to buy a new air conditioner for my studio. The one in there quit, and it is too hot to be without it. Then we will get it repaired, and thus have a backup if that happens to any of the three we use. Always something, it seems. >:(
Jeanne, it sounds like you and Ruth Ann both work too hard! I hope you both keep feeling strong and healthy!
;D ;D Abby just woke up and said "Grandma! Why are you up so LATE?" She thought it was night! It is quite dard because of the clouds.

CAT TALE ~ I woke up hearing a bell. It was the kitties fishing pole. It has feathers and a jingle bell on the end of the line. Jerry and I were playing with Ali and Inky and the fishing pole late last night. I would flip it so it would land on the washer/dryer/table top/cabinet and Inky would cry and jump up and put it in her mouth and jump back down. This morning she had been after me to get up ever since daylight. Finally she brought the fishing pole to me...I guess she thought it was time to play again. So I got up.
It was bright and sunny but now it is overcast. Tony is to bring the last load of river rock.....hooray!!!!!! Then the wedding is this afternoon. Must remember to take my camera.»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

WHAT A FRIEND (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/TheRose.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Tune: The Rose
Traditional Tune: Charles C. Converse, 1832-1918 (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/whatafriendwehave.mpga)
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

HI everyone.
It is an overcast day here in Georgia and I am happy about that as have been working out in the shop area of my shed cutting out the frames for the screen inserts. It is a slow process and will certainly take me several days. In the meantime we are leaving the cat in the house at night with his box available. He didn't wake me up until 6 am this morning and I was ready to arise at that time.
Welcome Marlene to CP and I also wish you a lovely visit with Alma.
Happy Birthday Anna.
Ria, nice to see that you are having a fine day and it sounds like you are having a nice weekend. Enjoy your shopping with your son.
Sue, that was a cute story. I heard a few days ago that our church needs a new roof and it is going to cost $60,000--something we do have have set aside.so am sure we will be having a special fund raising drive soon. It doesn't seem right to have buckets sitting in the main isle of the sanctuary during services to collect the drips. Our church is over 25 years old and things are beginning to give out.
Jeanne, you certainly are a busy lady.
Pat, the morning devotional says so much in so few words.
Janet, my screens are not the type you can replace only part of them and are really quite flimsy. It is easy to bend the alum. frame. So I decided to build a wooden frame that will sit on the cell and am using a heavy duty wire .
I have vinyl covering every surface of the porch, except the floor and want to minimize the number of hole I have to put into it. Just a few anchoring pins should hold the frame in place. This is my first time trying to use a miter box, at least for many years and there are 8 frames to make and then I have to cut the wire the proper width and get it all fastened together.
I don't have the jigs to use to glue the corners and tried some of the ripple type fasteners this morning without success. Haven't decided yet how to fasten the frame corners together.
I hope Beth has had a good flight back to Kansas. She will probably be glad to get back to her own home. It sounds like Abby is taking after her grandmother with the artisitic talents. The candles sound very nice.
Etta Sue, sure you are glad the rock is the last load. Rocks are heavy!!
Marilyn, so happy to hear of the 9 month point in your no smoking project. It sounds like you have it wiped and I know you are enjoying having the extra dollars available that aren't going to those expensive cigarettes. I so wish my daughter would quit smoking as it is both expensive and so bad on her health.
A special hello to all who stop by later. Guess I had better head back out and try to get another frame cut out. It will probably be the last for today as it is getting pretty warm.
I am going to post an update on Gloria;'s foot in prayers. be sure to check it out.
Marilyn: Nine months of smoke-free - way to go!
Pat: I was just going to write a little note - thanks for the music, I love that song. Don is waiting for me to help - I just took a break from cleaning and now we are working on the camper. My lower back is hurting today and we are driving to a birthday party tomorrow and then have a funeral on Monday morning. Company is coming this afternoon but we have to keep on working on that camper as the clouds are forming for another rainshower - still badly needed.
Larry: So glad that you are back to your routine around the house and with your coffee friends.
Carol
My brother, Steve, is in the hospital with a ruptured appendix. He is 71 years old, six years younger than I am. He got sick last week and just kept getting worse and finally went to the doctor who immediately put him in the hospital. He had surgery and has been in serious condition. He lives in North Carolina. We talk to him every day and today he said, for the first time, he thought he was feeling better. Hopefully he will be well enough next week to go home from the hospital. Say a prayer for my brother Steve.
--- Papa John

Papa - I hope you don't mind if I place a copy of that prayer request in the prayer folder. It's a privilege to pray for your brother!
By the way, I'm rejoicing at the moment. I just finished posting another study to the Your Day In Mark folder - and it's one that has blessed me.
We certainly will be praying for your brother Steve, Papa John! That's not a good deal at all, at any age!
Larry, I wish you success with the screen project; sound like a time consuming one.
Welcome to CP, Marlene! We enjoy Alma so much, so know you and she will have a wonderful visit. And when you go back home, be sure to stay with us on CP! :D
Etta Sue, those cats of yours are quite a mess! I like animals, but wouldn't appreciate being waked up after I finally get to sleep, because some nights I have so much trouble getting any sleep. We now have another dog. Someone dumped off a little chocolate colored Chihuahua here, and he has made himself right at home. I asked Darrel if he wanted to get rid of him, and he said "No, he's a nice dog, he is small, and he won't eat much----he can stay." And now...........Beth's little Mieka dog is going to become a mother. :-\
Beth seems glad to be home again. She and John already have plans for next summer. She said he gave her "a little peck on the cheek" when he left her at the airport this morning. ;D John isn't about to rush into anything! ;)
I found a pair of shoes I like, and they were on sale!!! Yea!!
Pat, what about your car? We are still praying about that matter.
Hi peeps. Just stopping in to say hi.
We are a busy family this weekend.
Soni
Oh dear! I'm way behind on welcome and birthday cards. Not because I don't care, but when I don't get here until 9:00 or later there just isn't time to put them together. :'(
I was at the supermarket this afternoon and when I got outside I found it had been pouring while I was inside. But 3 miles away at our house there hadn't been a single drop. About an hour later it got really dark and threatening, with a couple good rolls of thunder, but that was all. Scared the neighbors into moving their hot dog roast indoors, though. ;D
Happy Birthday and Welcome to everyone.
I spent a good part of the day pulling weeds in the gardens, it looks that soon I will have some green beans - yummy followed by the tomatoes and cucumbers and oh yes the red peppers are starting to bloom as well and Mel spent a good part of the day with Liquid Spic & Span cleaning the boat and his truck. Mel has also cooked a lake trout in the smoker so we had a little for dinner this evening.
Ruth
Papa John: Yes, a prayer for your brother , Steve. May he be comfortable and heal quickly.
Ruth: What a wonderful gourmet meal! Save some.
It is getting dark and time to finish a book. A little quiet time for us.
Tomorrow is a birthday party day and most of the family gathering in the afternoon.

Day Is Dying in the West (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/day-is-dying-in-the-west.mid)
(Click to hear music)
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory." Isaiah 6:3
Words: Mary A. Lathbury, 1877 (verses 1-2) & 1879 (verses 3-4). She wrote this hymn, and Break Thou the Bread of Life, on the shores of Lake Chautauqua, New York
Music: "Chautauqua," William F. Sherwin, 1877
Day is dying in the west;
Heav'n is touching earth with rest;
Wait and worship while the night
Sets the evening lamps alight
Through all the sky.
Refrain
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts!
Heav'n and earth are full of Thee!
Heav'n and earth are praising Thee,
O Lord most high!
Lord of life, beneath the dome
Of the universe, Thy home,
Gather us who seek Thy face
To the fold of Thy embrace,
For Thou art nigh.
Refrain
While the deepening shadows fall,
Heart of love enfolding all,
Through the glory and the grace
Of the stars that veil Thy face,
Our hearts ascend.
Refrain
When forever from our sight
Pass the stars, the day, the night,
Lord of angels, on our eyes
Let eternal morning rise
And shadows end.
Refrain
