Morning Devotional...Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.Romans 8:37
Why call a portion of Scripture a passage?
A passage is a way to get from one place to another.
Christ is our passageway through this life from beginning to end. Romans 8:37 is that passage which sums up our victory, declaring us to be more than conquerors through Him.
No matter the obstacle that may confront your spiritual journey today, surely that "passage" will get you through.

Words and Music by Eugene. M. Bartlett
I heard an old, old story, How a Saviour came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins And won the victory.
Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.
I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow'r revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried "Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and bro't To me the victory.
Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.
I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing, And the old, redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory.
Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

THE second time to reply. I have lost everything I wrote. :'( :'(
So..I am going to just tell everyone to look up Phil 4:8 for today and think about these things.
May God bless each of you. Thanks for the devotional, the graphics and all the responses I have read for the past 2 days to play catch up.

Ohhhh, Kathy.. I'm sorry you lost everything. Sometimes when you post and it seems you've lost your post, if you click on the Back button, you'll find it a couple of screens back and you can post it again. I've done this numerous times.
Thanks Etta Sue. Guess I was tired when I posted last night.
8) Good Morning everyone!
Pat, that is my favorite hymn of all time. I'm not much of a singer, but I would sing Victory in Jesus to my oldest child when she was a baby while rocking her to sleep. Then when she was about two years old, she would sing it along with us at church! Just as loud as a two year old can! Now I see her lip sync' at church, oh well.
Terry and I have decided with much prayer to become foster parents. I am mailing off the application today. Please say a prayer that if this is really what God wants for us, it will work out. We have not ruled out adoption of a foster child later on either.
I've always wanted more children, and so has Terry, but he doesn't want to go through the being pregnant part with me again! (Something about me almost dying just scares him, I guess!!) :o
Anyway, I hope everyone has a glorious day in the Lord.
Samantha
Oh, Samantha! That would be so nice for both of you. would you like to have babies or older children?
I will pray for you Samantha. I have been a foster parent in my younger days. I had my ex DIL"s little brother for 4 years.
Etta Sue there is no way I can avoid the dishes, at home I can but not at work as that is part of my job to do the dishes.
I only have to go to Fay's today as Versals two daughters are visiting her and will be taking her to the heart Doctor today to get her pacemaker read. Then they are going out and about. So Pat I will be vacuuming again today to get all the hair off the carpet. I think I should have had Happy shaved down when I just had his hair cut.
Kathy Phil. 4:8 was my Pastor down south's favorite scripture, the worship leader there wrote a song using Phil 4:8 I wish I could remember it.

DEPENDENT ON GOD'S PRESENCE
They that wait upon the Lord ... shall walk and not
faint.
Isaiah 40:31
There is no thrill in walking; it is the test of all the stable
qualities. To "walk and not faint" is the highest reach possible for
strength. The word "walk" is used in the Bible to express the
character - "John looking on Jesus as He walked, said, Behold the
Lamb of God!" There is never any thing abstract in the Bible, it is
always vivid and real. God does not say - Be spiritual, but - "Walk
before Me."
When we are in an unhealthy state physically or emotionally, we
always want thrills. In the physical domain this will lead to
counterfeiting the Holy Ghost; in the emotional life it leads to in
ordinate affection and the destruction of morality; and in the
spiritual domain if we insist on getting thrills, on mounting up with
wings, it will end in the destruction of spirituality.
The reality of God's presence is not dependent on any place, but only
dependent upon the determination to set the Lord always before us.
Our problems come when we refuse to bank on the reality of His
presence. The experience the Psalmist speaks of - "Therefore will we
not fear, though . . ." will be ours when once we are based on
Reality, not the consciousness of God's presence but the reality of
it - Why, He has been here all the time!
At critical moments it is necessary to ask guidance, but it ought to
be unnecessary to be saying always - "O Lord, direct me here, and
there." Of course He will! If our common-sense decisions are not His
order, He will press through them and check; then we must be quiet
and wait for the direction of His presence.
Oswald Chambers
My Utmost for His HIghest.
Pat,
I would really love lots of babies, but with homeschooling my two, that might be a greater challenge that I'm not ready for, but toddlers on up will be great. We see this as a way to help others while also helping our two out by giving them more playmates. Expanding their horizons and getting them to share in what God has given them.
Marilyn, so sorry to hear about your nail, I know that must have really hurt you. I'll be praying for you that in the course of your work day, it won't bother you.
We are starting to do some remodeling on the house, (to accomodate extra people!) so I must get to work rearranging some things,
Later,
Samantha
Well, I know I haven't been active here in a long while. Sorry about that. I do miss the good fellowship with my good friends in Christian Photographers. Also I appreciate the emails several have send me saying I am missed.
Pat, "Victory in Jesus" is a great song. I thank God for the victory we have in Jesus. Without Him there is no victory.
1 Cor 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (NIV)
I Jn 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (NIV)

Papa John So glad to see you here. I think you haven't been on the internet very much at all, I have not seen much of you on SN either.
Hi everyone. I am here at the house by myself this morning. Pat went to the senior center (but called and said she couldn't find a parking spot anywhere close so had gone on to get a haircut and go to the grocery store.
Marilyn, I hope you have some rubber gloves to wear when you have to wash dishes. That should keep your finger dry so that the soap won't hurt you.
Samatha, I am sure there is a demand for good foster parents. I am sure there will be challenges in the process but also a lot of satisfaction.
Pat, I have also found that often I can use the "back" button to find what I thought had been lost. Also, if I have an especially long posting I will do a quick control+A and then a control+c to select and copy it and then if it doesn't post I can simply paste my message into the new posting box.
Etta Sue, you certainly had a busy day yesterday and it sounds like your GPS system saved the day in providing directions for you to get away from a bad situation. Hope you and your sister enjoy the play this evening. Don't get too hot mowing the yard.
Jen, you are fortunate that your baby is now sleeping through the night so that you can get a good nights rest.
Tbear, I certainly hope you have found buyers for your house. It is always nerve racking time during the sales process and then awaiting the day of closing.
Janet, I seem to have missed what is wrong with your arm. I didn't realize it had been injured. Those were good clarification comments on the Harry Potter situation.
Carol, sure hope the mechanics find the problem with your SUV.
Janie, I am also pulling for you to get the job at the church and that the Lord will lead as to where you and your family will end up living and working.
Papa John, great to see your posting. You indeed have been missed. I did see the picture of your new transporatation device on SeniorNet. Is that working out well for you?
Hope everyone has a good day.
It was much too warm on our walk this morning and am I frazzled. Sewing the the cool basement will be the only thing this afternoon, for sure.
Larry: They changed the air filter and checked everything out. As I suspected, they cannot find anything wrong.
Marilyn: Owie.
Carol
I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was to see your message PapaJohn! My goodness! It's so good to see you.
Meika will be so happy. She's in the USA right now and comes and reads the messages and talks to some of us on Yahoo Messenger and she always asks for "my Papa John". You are a very special person to her.
Howdee, Papa John! Glad to see you posting. Hope life is good!
Busy summer day as usual. :-))

Pat & Marilyn I enjoyed your messages today.
Papa John: It was just yesterday that you were in my thoughts. Glad to see you.
We are having such a beautiful day I sure wish our whole summer was like this.
I left earlier this morning to have my hair cut and set so now I will get some of the other little jobs done. Or just maybe I will read.
Ruth
Larry, I am really enjoying my electric scooter. That sounds better than a wheel chair. Almost every evening just before dark when the sun has gone down and it isn't so hot Cornelia and I go "walking." Well, SHE walks and I just ride along. I can walk fine but not very far until I have to sit down. Week before last we went to New Orleans and I went all over the French Quarter on my Auto-Go which is an ultra light. It can ride on a little rack on the back of our car.
Thanks to all of you for your kind welcome, Marilyn, Pat, Soni, Ruth, Larry.
I hope you are all doing well. It is good to hear Meika is back. I would like to see her post in here. She is a sweetie.

hey ya'll
i'm around... don't have to work today but i do in a way.... i have to teach 3rd thru 5th grade at a local campmeeting.... so i'm off to get everything ready ttyl
Sarah
Hi all!
{{{{{hug}}}} Papa John! So glad to see your "green!"
I may be scarce for the next day or so. Our modem got "stuck" yesterday during an electrical storm. It seems that if it thunders within 1000 miles of our house the modem goes "on" but won't go off. It ties up the phone line and the Internet obviously won't work. Okay, maybe not 1000 miles, but pretty much during any thunderstorm this happens, unless we can get it unconnected first (we weren't home yesterday).
I want to add my voice to the rest - it's sure great to see you, Papa John!
Hi all.
Kathy, I just read Phil 4:8. Thank you for the reminder. I've been rejoicing all day. :) Also woke up pain free.
Marilyn and Pat......my two guys are shedding too! I guess it's just that time of year, huh? I'd like to get another brush too...I've wondered about the ionic brushes. They are so bad now, I won't brush them in the house. We go out in the yard and they each have a turn. Also I can't believe the mats they get. I spend so much time cutting out mats, soon they won't need a haircut at all. It won't be a pretty sight. lol
Marilyn, I also took the time to read Oswald Chambers. That was perfect, as I usually read at home, and haven't in a few days. Still praying for a new home for you and your family.
Pat, I bookmarked the Snopes link page and am sending it on to my daughter. Parents and grandparents should have as much info as possible. To think that your child or grandchild would never do that is denial. They might not.....but we never should be complacent or too sure of anything, when it comes to teenage years with the pressure they face each day to conform to the world. And some die. The devil is right here to kill, steal and destroy. Our children are so vulnerable. It just reminds me to always cover them in prayer, every single day.
Papa J. It's good to see your smiling face. You're traveling pretty high class, eh? I'm glad your Auto-Go is working so well for you and giving you the freedom to continue doing what you love.
Karmat, you have a very strange modem. :) Of course, I don't know what my modem would do in a thunderstorm. Maybe I have a strange one too.
I received an email from Jane. They are in California.......were waiting for their room to be ready when she wrote, and friends to begin gathering with them. It seems a nice reunion.
Etta Sue.........you have the energy of, of.........well, you have lots of energy. I don't have to say "You go, girl" because, very obviously, you are! As Pat said.......I got tired just reading your post....haha
I love that we are all so different, yet each live together in Christ, and in love.
Hi, Meika!!!
Judy, when I read your post about Melaura's tender heart, I saw your own heart. :) My daughter, Kim, says the same thing about "picking my fights". Angel is 15, and kim could say the same thing......she has a tender heart. I know she tries to hide it a lot, but it's there.
Heh, Melaura......I'm glad your parents understand that it isn't your clothes or hair (well, there ARE limits. lol), but God sees your heart. Though I never post back to you, I really like reading what you have to say. So......say what's in your heart and on your mind. It's always fresh to hear from the younger brothers and sisters in Christ. Seems to me.....I've heard profound truth from the mouths of babes. :) And you guys(younger ones)usually keep it simple. I like that.
Sarah, you are busy! Let us know how it went, ok?
Ruth, we are having beautiful weather here too. I so enjoy just sitting out in the yard in the mornings. We have lots of wind, the warmer, the windier, but I can get out early before it starts. It's kind of sheltered out back too.
Hi Soni, Carol, Janie, Samantha, Larry, Janet, Tbear and Al (you snuck in while I was typing).......oh, I hate to even start this because I alway forget who was posting. I read every post, know that, but my brain sort of freezes. But you gotta love me anyway.......right? Nita
ok...ok! That was waaay too long. How often do I do that? haha
Nita, it's NOT too long... It's so nice to read. I so enjoy it.
Yes, Karma, isn't it fantastic to see Papa John's GREEN? I've so missed seeing it.

Written by Martin Nystrom
Psalm 42:1
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
As the deer panteth for the water,
So my soul longs after you.
You alone are my hearts desire,
And I long to worship You.
Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.
I want you more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.
Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.
You're my friend and You're my brother,
Even though you are a King.
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything.
Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

Hello everyone!!
Well, I finally found a dentist who charges reasonable rates! We have no dental coverage, so I was really worried about the cost. But I found a dentist who will see me tomorrow and give me a prescription to take care of the infection and pain for now until I'm in the second trimester. I can't have any x-rays right now either, so it might be a little tricky to deal with an absessed tooth. I talked to my midwife, and she also okayed the surgery on my knee in a month. So I'll have a full plate, but thank goodness I'm getting things done now. I waited until Mercy was born to get all these things checked out before, obviously not expecting to be expecting again so soon! So now I'm not going to put it off any longer. I'm still having a really hard time with not being able to go to New Brunswick. We were supposed to go for our honeymoon, but couldn't afford it then. I really wanted Luke to be able to see his family, he hasn't seen them since he moved here in '03.
Papa John, it's so good to see you posting!! How are you doing?
Well, I'd better hit the sack for the night. God bless you all.
Jen.
And Karma it is good to see you. Sorry your modem gets stuck.
Al, I appreciate your adding your voice to the welcome. Tonight we attended the church where our daughter Martha goes. We had an excellent lesson about the grace of God in the story of Abraham.
Nita, yes the auto-go is great when we go anywhere where there is a lot of walking. You can read about it here http://www.ultralite.biz/
Jen, it is good to see you too. I am doing very well and I hope you are too.
I hope you all have a good rest tonight.
Ps 3:3-5 But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. (NIV)

Wow, so many good messages. I've been a "guest" for a few days, since my computer wouldn't let me log in. Of course, Pat our wizard helped me take care of the problems. You GO, PAT!
Papa John and Mieka - both in the same day, and Melaura, and all the others of us! How wonderful to read the posts and to see our gang regrouping again.
I'll see the foot surgeon tomorrow a.m. early (7:15 am), so maybe I can bring an update on the broken foot tomorrow.
Y'all have a good evening and a great day tomorrow.

Hi dmc, we seem to be the only ones here right now.....lots of coffee for us..... ;D
Hi Papa John, it was nice to hear from you again.
Hi Mieka! I've thought of you often.
Everyone else.......HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met my parents at a local auction this evening, and I did a first. I bid for myself (on my dad's number because I showed up without cash, just my driver's licence and keys as I wasn't planning on purchasing anything) on a crock pot that looked as though it had never been used for my daughter. It only cost $10 CDN and they even threw in some cake and muffin tins (used) that nobody wanted to bid on. I'm going to put some water in it now and turn it on to see if it works.....felt heat almost right away...I'm happy.
Now I think I shall call it a day.
Night everyone.
Now, I think I will
