Morning Devotional...

Matthew 6:9.  "...hallowed be Your Name."

Who's the most important person in your life?  Is it your wife?  Is it your husband?  Is it a mother, father, or someone else you care a great deal about?

Whoever it is, the one sure thing is that they're very important to you - your eyes "light up" whenever they're mentioned or whenever you think about them.  In other words, they're special to you, and they occupy a very special place in your thoughts.

How about God?  How about His Son, Jesus?  Is He special to you?  Do the eyes of your heart "light up" when He's even mentioned?  That's what the word "holy" means.  It means that, in your mind and heart, the holy God occupies a very special place - a place so unique, so separate from all others that you can hardly mention them in the same breath.

That's what Jesus was saying here in this model prayer.  He was saying, "Yes!  May it truly be!  May His very Name - and all that He is - occupy a unique, a holy, and a special place in people's minds, hearts, and on their tongues!"  He's saying that no one else in heaven or earth deserves so special a place in every mind and heart as His own almighty and wonderful Father!

What do you say in your prayers?  Is your prayer about your blessed and worthy God and Father, or is it just about the things you want, need, etc.?  Why do you want the things you pray for?  Is it for His glory, or is it just for you know who?  If He's unique and special to you, then why not repeat your Lord's thought here and say, "O God my Father, may Your wonderful Name be very, very special in all the universe!"  "Hallowed BE Your Name!"

God, Our Father, We Adore Thee
(Click to hear music)

You received the Spirit of sonship.
And by Him we cry, "Abba, Father."
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit
that we are God's children.
Romans 8:15-16

Words: George W. Frazer
Music: John Zundel, 1870

God, our Father, we adore Thee! We, Thy children, bless Thy Name!
Chosen in the Christ before Thee, we are holy without blame.
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Abba's praises we proclaim!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Abba's praises we proclaim!

Son Eternal, we adore Thee! Lamb upon the throne on high!
Lamb of God, we bow before Thee, Thou hast brought Thy people nigh!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Son of God, Who came to die!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Son of God, Who came to die!

Holy Spirit, we adore Thee! Paraclete and heavenly Guest!
Sent from God and from the Savior, Thou hast led us into rest.
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! By Thy grace forever blessed:
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! By Thy grace forever blessed!

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Three in One! We give Thee praise!
For the riches we inherit, heart and voice to Thee we raise!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Thee we bless, through endless days!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Thee we bless, through endless days!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I see I am first to post since Al posted the very fine devotional.  I was sleeping well until the cat, which didn't get put on the screened-in porch last night, jumped up on the bed a little before 4 am as he wanted to go out.  I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so about 5 am, fixed the coffe, got my medications prepared for the next two weeks and had breakfast.  So I am here before 6 am Eastern time.

Marilyn, glad to hear you were able to have a great time with your family over for a meal yesterday.  Friends are wonderful but not the same as family.  I hope your client works out very well and that she wasn't hurt too badly in her fall.

Ruthie, that blood pressure can be difficult to regulate.  I hope you get resolution soon and start feeling better.  Good to see you posting.

Ohenry, we had another very nice shower yesterday afternoon.  My friend said his gauge indicated a good 1/2 inch of rain.  There is another chance we will have more this afternoon.

As far as I know I don't have to go anywhere today after getting back from coffee.  I always enjoy a few "free" days and will work on several pending items here at the computer.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Ruthie

Thank you Larry, they say blood pressure is a silent killer, but I know when mine is up.   I usually feel rotten.   Hopping the new doctor will help.   God bless

Nice to see you posting, Ruthie.  Sorry about the blood pressure.  I know that with Jack, the doctor had to work very hard at trying to find the right medication to work and it does take time.  One prescription won't always work.  Sometimes you have to try many before the right one is found that will work in YOUR body and with other things you are taking so try to be patient, Ruthie and try also to stick with one doctor.

Hi Larry!

Morning all.  Ruthie Sorry about the blood pressure.  As Pat says try to stick with one Doctor.

I am very fortunate to ave a new doctor take over my old doctors practice.  He is good. I have been dealing wth a problem for several months now and he has set me straight on what I can and cannot do.

Goood devotional Al.  Morning Larry.

We have a dull overcast day here.  The girls are wearing sweaters.  After the heat wave we have had this is really quite cool.  Nice for freezing the peas I have to put down.

Friends of ours out in Redbridge finally had their hydro restorred on Saturday.  They had a camper so were able to use that to live in while there was no hydro.  They also have a generator and were able to keep their freezers and fridge cold.   That will be oour next purchase, Generators are so necessary here in the north as we do get a lot of power outages.

Well I am off will be back tonight.
God Bless
JudyB

Hello, Folks!

Erik's ball team lost.  But Erik did a good job pitching to a rough and tough team.  Defiance will probably win the tournament.

I have no idea why I did what I did but I did.   :idiot:  I needed to go to the bank but today is also trash day.  So I put my trash in the trunk and put it out at Kaye Don's and went on to the bank.  While waiting for the clerk, I decided I needed my car washed inside and out.  So I drove to Noblesville.  One car wash only does the exterior so I went south of town and got the car done....at the cost of $25!  But it is sparkling clean and smells so good.

Today is house cleaning day.  And fixing a dessert for tomorrow night.  Tomorrow a computer guru is coming at 8 a.m.  Then I have to mow the grass.  Then clean up for Karen (TBear) is coming to visit me for the evening.  I am suppose to go to a Scrapbooking Party in the afternoon at my SIL, but told her I may not make it.  Not into scrapbooking anyway... ???

Okay...that's about it for me for the next two days.  Then it is off to Bloomington on Wednesday and then to Grand Rapids Friday and Saturday!

I will be happy to turn my calender over to August and find a clean slate!!   ::)

Grrr!  >:(  Gremlins are playing with my computer again!  How does the thing get changed from "always stay logged in" to "90 minutes?"  Oh, well, at least I remembered my info!  ^-^

I fasted yesterday, so decided this would be a good morning to go get blood tests done.  I want to see how quickly my cholesterol, etc. respond to the new products we are taking.  I also took Beth's dog to visit her, returned her clothes I had washed, and went to the Dr's office for a blood pressure check.  Errands!  One would think it was a Monday!  ;)

Beth is really unhappy at the prospect of not seeing her dog for three weeks!  But we feel that is too long to ask a friend to dog-sit.  We will be taking the animals down to Abby to care for in our absence.

Oh, my, war news, war news.  :'(  They say "The nations are gathering their armies to march against Israel."  Sounds just like Revelations to me.

I have calls to make, will be back later.

Hi, Ruthie!  Good weather, indeed!  Hope you get that BP under control quickly.

Hi Janet,    You're right, it does sound like Revelation.   The talk show host on the radio is poo pooing the talk of prophesy and what is happening in the Middle East.   He calls the televangelists  "a bunch of wing-nuts"   Sounds funny but he will find out!

Amen Ruthie, It is too bad that there are so many scoffers in the world today. If they would just read the book they would see what the headlines are saying is the Bible coming to pass.

I took Ruth to the Doctor this morning then I went to Wm's, I did some quilting for a few hours.

I had to stop at the Chiropractor before I went to to Ruth's, I was able to just walk in and get an adjustment, I sue needed it. So when I got home from Wm's about 2:30 i  put the ice pack on my neck and  shoulder. It feels better now, I  have taken more pain pills in 3 days that I have in two months and that is only 6 pills in 3 days. I don't like to take the prescription pain pills but do when the pain is just too much for me.

Getting off the computer now, It is the position I sint in that  causes the pain.I need to change the computer set up again.

Just over in the glory land
(Click to hear music)

I've a home prepared where the saints abide
Just over in the glory land
And I long to be by my Saviour's side
Just over in the glory land

Just over in the glory land
I'll join the happy angel band
Just over in the glory land
Just over in the glory land
There with the mighty host I'll stand
Just over in the glory land

I am on my way to those mansions fair
Just over in the glory land
There to sing God's praises and his glory share
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

What a joyful thought that my Lord I'll see
Just over in the glory land
And with kindred saved, there forever be
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

With the blood washed throng I will shout and sing
Just over in the glory land
Glad hosannas to Christ, the Lord and King
Just over in the glory land

Ruth

Thanks to everyone that works behind the scene to make this wonderful site possible.

Ruthie:   Blood pressure is a real funny thing.  For me stress is what did me in and as the Dr. at the time said I think that it is your ........... behind it all.  On another occasion I did some sharing with someone and it really blew the top off the scale.  When I returned to a Dr. of the past he gave me a gentle pat on the shoulder and said we will just watch to see how things go. Sure enough after 3-4 months of patience all is well. I do take meds as well.

As for the scrubbies I will use them for almost any job and the best part is that they do not scratch.

I am in need of orthotics and I really have no clue what to do. This now my third pair and even they are wrong. I am going back to the place where I purchased the last pair to see if any changes can be made. But to be honest I have no hope in that working. Our health plan only covers l pr. every 2 yrs. and they are so expensive perhaps $300.00 - $400.00.

Papa John:  Come to say hello whenever you can. It is good to see you.

I need to put the temp. thingy at the bottom and do not remember how.  Can someone help.

Judy B:   Are you aware that the Thornloe cheese factory in Thornloe will be closing its doors at the end of October?  We think that it is the best cheese ever.

God Bless       Ruth

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Pat

Thanks Janet...  I was thrilled to get POTD today.  I was very surprised as well.

Ruth, orthotics are so expensive.  I wore some when I was driving and I haven't for a few years now and don't feel the need now.  Wonder why.

I'll see about putting the temperature thingy back for you, Ruth.

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Janet

Ruth, I have been using orthotics for several years.  They told me they were "guaranteed for life".....my question is, life of what?  Certainly not mine!  My first pair broke in three places and I didn't realize it, kept wondering why they weren't supporting my feet any more.  Now the newer pair is breaking as well.  My daughter Diane got some special made ones, made of cork and leather, very expensive, and her poor feet still hurt all the time. She has tried several different kinds.  :'(

I am SO excited about my new business!!  I love being a blessing to people in this way.  Never ever would I have thought I'd be doing this!  But I love it!  And Darrel is even getting interested, too.  :)

Congratulations on POTD, Pat!  I always told you you do great work!  ;)

I'm going to post the Tuesday NEM now, as I am expecting a call soon and want to be off the computer.
