Morning Devotional...

The works of the LORD are great. He will ever be mindful of His
covenant.

Psalm 111:2, 5

How we need to be mindful of those who are bound in heathen strongholds!

In many countries the process of changing from an empty religion to
Christianity is a drastic move.

Someone described it this way: "Changing religions means breaking the family tradition, family ties, and family honour. A Christian is no longer a member of the family and suffers mental and physical cruelty from his own kinsmen."

Only the Lord's power can bring one from such a background and make them a faithful follower of Christ.

Have we prayed for the steadfastness of persecuted Christians today?
--E. Dyck

Trust in Him, ye saints forever;
He is faithful changing never;
Neither force nor guile can sever
those He loves from Him.

Janet ~ Have fun in your traveling.  You know you will be missed!

Babycakes ~ I think you have your interstates mixed up.  I-65 goes to Chicago, not Michigan.  Perhaps you meant I-69.  And I-71 is in Ohio.  I-70 is in Indiana.  I live northeast of Indy...about 5 miles from I-69.  And my son and DIL stays overnight at Tell City a lot when riding their cycle on the weekends.  Small world.

Well, it cost me to go to Fry's....as I kinda knew it would.  Larry, Fry's makes me feel like they think I am a thief!  White shirts everywhere checking this or that....except when I wanted help with GPS's and there were 6 white shirts within 15 feet of me and none would look my way.  I had to go ask if I could gets some assistance.   Then you can't put the product in your cart...you have to give them information and when you get to the check-out you tell them you have a will-call.  Then they give it to you after you pay for it.  Then checked again to make sure you have only that product in your bag when you leave.  I'll bet there were over 100 employees working there yesterday and most were just standing around.

Anyway, it doesn't do as much as my Magellan but I think it will serve the purpose for what I want.  I got a Navman iCN 550.  It is fun.  It even talks to you.

I got to bed late....1:30am...wonder why?  I am doing laundry now.  Will probably have lunch after while and then take a drive to see how this GPS works!!

I also got a 1 gig card for my camera!  Lots cheaper than WalMart!

Pssst!  Let's fill up these forums while Janet is gone   ::)....make her think it is her why we don't post much

Hi everyone.  It is another hot and muggy day in Georgia, must be July in the south.  Went to coffee at 7 am as I open the center and with the help of my friend, who lives next door, get the coffee started and everything set out we will need.  We had a nice group of men participate today.

I hadn't been home long when I got a call and had to leave to do something and it was 10:30 before I got back.

Etta Sue, we have the same setup at Fry's here and we have also found that the salemen don't really know their merchandise, although will try to help if if ask for it.  You get use to the system after a few visits.  Obviously theft is a big problem for stores like these and I really don't mind the tight security if it helps keep the prices down.  You have to watch what you buy as it often isn't a bargain.  Their prices may vary from week to week on the same item.  We (my friend and I) just watch for the sale items that appear to be good buy.  Hope you like your new GPS.  Was there something wrong with your old one?

I guess Janet and Darrell are probably on their way to China now.  I hope they have a wonderful 3 weeks.  They appear to thoroughly enjoy trips like this.

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  I have thought about what he discusses and realize it can separate family, even if it involves another Christian denomination.  I hope your meetings are going well.

Candice it sounds like you had a great time and can look forward to another similar experience this summer.  Are you a camp counselor?

Guess I had better move on to other projects.  Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Etta Sue:  Coming from the south on I65 we would take I 71 at Louisville on over to Lexington and hit I75 all the way to Michigan.  The time my dad forgot to switch it night and real foggy and I probably was 10 or 12.  I don't know how we got to Michigan but we ended up near Benton Harbor and then went across.   The time Terry and I did it was the first time I tried to go back without following someone.  And it was night (any good excuse!) Anyway, that is the way we would go north.

Unspoken request - just pray that God's will is done.  Thanks!

Hope everyone has a beautiful day in the Lord.

Samantha

Larry - you do more in the mornings than I do in two days!  Bless you!

Good Morning, In case some of you haven't noticed or missed me; I haven't been around much in the last few days. Today so far I am not in much pain and I haven't done anything that was cause any irritation  of my upper left arm and shoulder. I do believe it is Bursitis or Tendonitis, but it has sure been a painful week for me.  Today I am going to try not to take anything for pain.

I really feel sorry for my dogs a they haven't been out for their walks since last Thursday. I may try to do that  later.

For those of you who remember Pastor Oliver being on our prayer list, I received an email saying that the cancer is now in remission, he is having to do exercises to strengthen the muscles in his legs and  practice walking a lot more. Thanks for all your prayers.

Will has her first Chemo next week. Keep her in your prayers.  Back to my 2nd up of  :coffee:

Good Afternoon!

Nope, Larry, I'm not a camp counselor, I'm a part of a summer travelling ministry team. Crosswalk, is a mobile kids ministry and we travel during the summer to churches to do VBS's, Kid's Crusades and also to do full week camps. From September to December, and then March to June we don't travel. Instead the money that we've raised, we go to our lower income housing devlopments in our area and each week we visit them and put on a 1 hour program with games, and a lesson about Jesus. if you want to know more, their website is http://www.crosswalkinc.org (http://www.crosswalkinc.org) we're always looking for prayer, and monitary supporters  :) so that's what I do haha. My mom's insanely involved with it too, so we travel together for the most part.

marilyn, i have bursitis in my shoulder too, kind of crazy for a teenager to have it, but from playing sports, i'm a wreck. the only thing that really helps me besides icing it after doing something, is tylenol with codeine. granted that's if you're into taking medication. but if you know you're going to be lifting something, i just take regular tylenol before hand and it doesn't hurt too much afterwards.

today might be the last day for cleaning [I hope] but if not, that's alright. I have work later on, and then home to do nothing on a Friday night. hot and humid as a storm has just passed.

Hope everyone's having a great day  8)
blessings,
candice

Hi All.

I have received news that our cousin from California is coming to Canada in September for our family reunion.  He will be staying here in the north for a couple of days.  HE is wanting to spend the last 3 days in the south visiting our other cousins.  This is so neat.  I can hardly wait.

This has been a HOT day here in the north.  I am off to take the girls swimming.  Hava a good evening be back later.

Hi everyone.  It was almost 100 degrees here yesterday, very hot.

Not many folks have stopped by the last couple of days.  Everyone must be busy.

Nothing much to post will just say hi.  Will go to coffee this morning and then tend to some other matters and try to get back home by afternoon.

Our pastor's wife's dad died a couple of days ago, so the family is all going to the dad's house about 50 miles from here.  So guess who's going to have to preach this Sunday.  So please say to our Lord, "Lord, help Al preach the Word clearly, and bless it to all the people, Al included."  Thanks.

We're also entering what we hope to be the last week or so of trying to get the church roof reroofed.  Please pray for that too.  Marbeth and I are going this morning to make the coffee for the crew at the church.

I'm so glad Marbeth is feeling better and able to help with the coffee for the roofing crew at the church.

I am another that has been away as well. It is so very hot and humid so really the computor has not been turned on.

I had company for lunch yesterday and after they went home all I did was relax as it is so very hot.  Something we do not have is a cottage but in this kind of weather it would be nice if we did have something by the water.   I am so looking forward to the fall as it is the season I really enjoy.

Have a great day        Ruth

I've been away a lot too.  I've been spending lots of time outdoors, and less time on the computer.   I have been in to read, but then have nothing to say. I certainly don't want to say anything if I have nothing to say. lol

I just finished washing my car.  The neighbor burned this morning while dew was everywhere, and all the ash stuck to my car. (my car is white).  It looked speckled.

And now I'm out of words again.  Blessings,  Nita

I folks...

Just got in.  I've been away all day in Oakville, Ontario visiting a friend.  They invited Geordie as well and he was as good as gold.

Nice to read all your posts.  I've been so busy this week with meetings and I've hardly been able to be on the computer.

Praying Samantha!

 Thanks for the devotional, Pat.

It is cooler today and a relief from the endless heat of the past week.  Even the flowers are smiling :)

I also do not have anything to say.  Find this prayer soothing and hope someone else will like it:

"A Prayer"
   by Max Ehrmann

Let me do my work each day; and if the darkened hours of despair
overcome me, may I not forget the strength that comforted me
in the desolation of other times.

May I still remember the bright hours that found me walking over
the silent hills of my childhood, or dreaming on the margin of a quiet
river, when a light glowed within me, and I promised my early God
to have courage amid the tempests of the changing years.

Spare me from bitterness and from the sharp passions of unguarded
moments. May I not forget that poverty and riches are of the spirit.
Though the world knows me not, may my thoughts and actions be
such as shall keep me friendly with myself.

Lift up my eyes from the earth, and let me not forget the uses of the
stars.  Forbid that I should judge others lest I condemn myself.
Let me not follow the clamor of the world, but walk calmly in my
path.

Give me a few friends who will love me for what I am; and keep ever
burning before my vagrant steps the kindly light of hope.

And though age and infirmity overtake me, and I come not within
sight of the castle of my dreams, teach me still to be thankful for
life, and for time's olden memories that are good and sweet; and
may the evening's twilight find me gentle still.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Liz:  That was a lovely prayer.

We are home from our service and tonight the younger pastor (who is the better speaker and a wonderful singing voice) spoke about the Youth trip to San Antonio.  They also go into Mexico every year and are already planning on building two homes on the next trip.  Such uplifting talks from the teens.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.  We heard from the people in British Columbia who drove all the way here last year to buy our camper and they have been thrilled.  Boy, do we miss it but reality is that it was too much for us to take into the mountains.

Janet  in China.  It sounds fascinating.

Larry ~ My old GPS works okay except when I have a Go To going, it sometimes says it is losing power and it is plugged into the car battery.  Then it turns itself off and I have to turn it back on and wait until I have to click 'Enter' and even then it might go off again.  Also the new one has a color screen and it talks to you...even tells you to 'Make a legal U-turn as soon as possible' when you go past where you were suppose to turn!

What a busy day for me.  Kitty, a friend named Judy and I took our photos to the State Fair.  Then we did Hobby Lobby and then went to Michael's.  We ate at Don Pablo's.  Kitty brought me home but said to come over and we would play.  So after awhile, I went to Kitty's.  Seems that she bought a Casio Pocket PC for $5...no instructions so she wanted my help to 'play' with it to see what it would do.  We figured out how to take song from her laptop to the Pocket PC to play on the Media Player on the PPC.  Then she resized some photos and put them on the PCC.  She can even get the Internet on the PCC plus send email.  Now if she can get email, I don't know how yet.

She wanted me to stay for Pizza but opted not to...needed to get home to catch up on the pc and make a couple of cards for one of our pastors and his wife that are moving to Lake Wales, Florida.  Tomorrow is their last day at church here.  They are also in our Small Group.

So I am praying that everyone have a wonderful Lord's day!!

Hello everyone.  We've returned from the coast a day early.  My wife needed a day at home before going back to work.  We had a very relaxing time, communing with fellow church members and getting to know each other on a different level.  I took some pictures of the rock formations off Bandon and some shots around the marina.  I took several shots with panoramic views and blended HDR in mind.  May be awhile before I process them.  I have some paid work Tuesday that will take precedence and have to meet with another potential client on Monday.

So nice to know you had this wonderful time with other brothers and sisters in the Lord.  Do you work full time as a photographer?
