Matt. 6:13.
"For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen."

In the "Lord's Prayer," Jesus was expressing His reasons for all the things He asked of the Father.  He was asking the Father to grant everything in the prayer because it was for the Father's own Kingdom.  And He asked Him to grant them because only the Father's power could make them happen.  Finally, He told Him He wanted all these things because it would be for the Father's own glory - eternally - to grant them.

What a prayer!  It's a great model for us!  Not that we need to use His exact words - that's not why He gave it to us.  But the thoughts He expressed should definitely be our thoughts as well!

Before they can be our thoughts, though, we need to be able to answer certain questions.  We need to question whether all the things we ask for in prayer going to benefit our Lord's kingdom in the world.  Further, we need to question whether we truly realize we can't have any of our prayer requests answered unless they're answered by His power.  For this to be true, we need to realize we really can't do them (or anything else) by means of our own intelligence and strength.  Finally, there's one more all-important question: do I want what I pray for for His glory - or is it for my own?

Where is your focus when you pray?  Are you thinking about God's kingdom?  Do you gladly admit your own powerlessness along with His compete ability?  Finally, what do you want it all for?  Is it truly for His glory?  May you fully consider these things!

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power and the glory
Forever.
Amen.

Hi, everyone.  My back is better, better, better, and it surely feels gooder too.

Jane, I'll see you Tuesday?  Call me tomorrow night and let me know what's happening with you two. ok?

My son and his girlfriend are coming tomorrow for a barbecue.  She works at two, so it will be at noon.  He likes to do the cooking, so after his offer, it was all settled.

Happy Birthday, Alma!!! :)

Al, thanks for a very good devotional.  Is it for my glory, or for the Lord's?
It makes you think.

I'm headed to bed, so wanted to pop in and read your posts for today. I hpoe you all have a peaceful and blessed sleep.  (unless you're awake already and it's tomorrow. lol)         Nita

Thanks Al, for a great study.

The text from Pastor Kris' message yesterday was Psalm 133.

How wonderful, how beautiful,
when brothers and sisters get along!
   It's like costly anointing oil
      flowing down head and beard,
   Flowing down Aaron's beard,
flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.
It's like the dew on Mount Hermon
flowing down the slopes of Zion.
Yes, that's where God commands the blessing,
      ordains eternal life.

In His Grip,
Kevin

Hi everyone.  Up early again this morning as have a lot I would like to get done today.  After coffee, which I can't drink this morning, I am going to Kaiser for a routine blood test.  Then will stop by Fry's to straighten out a problem with the way they billed me for my new computer.  I was told it was on a 12 month same as cash basis but when the bill came it indicated it was a regular account.  I called the credit office and was advised I would need to ask them to rewrite the ticket and resubmit it to get it changed.  Otherwise I will have to pay it off all this month as don't want to be paying any interest.

When I get home I will get started on a big project on the computer to aid my friend.  I just finished a project to summarize  and alphabetize all of the newsletters and articles with active links he has produced for our PC User Group and now will do the same project for those he has done for the User Group in Huntsville, where he used to live and where he is still the editor of their newsletter.  Ours were only for 2005 and 2006.  The Huntsville Newsletters go back to 2000 so it will be a much bigger project just gathering the information.  However, I have the HTML structure worked out and will use the same design so won't reinvent the wheel.

Hope everyone has a fine day.  It will be hot here today.

Congratulations Ed and Papa John on your wedding anniversaries.  Also happy birthday to Alma.

Al, that was a fine devotional today.  Our pastor is currently doing a series of sermons on the Lord's Prayer.

I am feeling somewhat better.  At least stuff in my head is moving around now.  I won't go into the gorry details... ???

Ivalou and I are going out for lunch to China Buffet.  Then I will go for my Urologist appointment.  Hopefully I will have a check in the mail when I get home and can go to the bank then.

What is everyone doing for excitement for the Fourth of July?  I haven't had any offers so I will stay at home with a book or something less exciting.  Saturday night I went to bed early and it sounded like someone was pecking on my window.  I was afraid to get up and look but finally, I turned off my light and went to the bathroom...same side of the house...and unplugged my night light.  Then I noticed neighbors down the road was doing the fireworks thing.  When they were shot off, there was a deep sound but when they exploded, it was a higher sound...sounded like someone pecking on my window.  This house is so sound...you hardly hear anything outside.  So I went back to bed and slept like a dream.

Good Morning

So far I have got very little done, but now it is time to get started.
I will be making two rhubarb pies. then with any kind of energy get my dining room table cleared as it is holding our end of school year gifts. The table looks much better when it is tidy.

Yesterday Mel & I went to Sue's trailor with a load of wood, while there we had diner and stayed long enough to enjoy the camp fire. That brought back memories of our camping days.

Judy:  Sometime when you have the time drop by the house and I will give you some ideas on quilting.  I will even make a sample for you to take home.  I have a cousin that quilts and like sewing the creations go on and on.  Setting up the frames can be the problem if you lack space.

Janet: Enjoy your vacation when you leave.

Papa John    Happy Anniversary

To the rest Happy Birthdays

Blessings to all
Ruth

Ruth: Instead of a quilting frame  (no room) I use a  large oval  embroidery hoop.

Good morning everyone. Where is Anthony lately.

Thanks Al for the devotional today.

Oh my we sure had a Spirit filled prayer meeting last evening I went 45 minutes early and prayed with another sister, the prayer meeting is for 1 hour but we were there for 2. I wish I could go into the details but I know that  most here are of a different belief so I wont.

I get so full  and want so much to share and it sure dampens my spirit when I have to watch carefully what I write in a post. I guess it is a Pentecostal thing.  8)

Today I only go to Fay's. My shed is supposed to be delivered today, so I will work on putting it together if it is.

Good Morning!!   :D

Well, my daughter came bearing gifts!  She had a huge (16 oz) coffee cup and some coffee beans from Starbuck's and then a large beach bag sort of thing stuffed full with neat items!  There was a robe and slippers (actually meant for a beach cover up, I think) and items the girls had picked out for grandma ... a snow globe (sparkles instead of "snow") with a fish "just for fun" and another really delicate crystal rose and several books!  Here I am trying to get rid of books and she brings me more :D   That's okay, I had a book to give her, too ... and I just think I may add to that pile before she gets away.

We ate dinner and drank Starbuck's coffee and then watched a movie and ate popcorn!  Today I'm not sure what's on the agenda, but I am ready to play it by ear or go with the flow or whatever ....  Dot is still in bed so I am just waiting.  :coffee:

Nita, enjoy the family barbecue today and I'll call you later.   :yakyakyak:

Well, as we used to say: I must be off ... :sulk:

Hi Everyone...

Just taking out a few minutes here as I've been re-arranging the bedroom that will be Kathleen's from now on.

She has an interview at the mall this evening and then Janice and Phil will bring her here later.  So meal preparation for two doesn't begin till tomorrow!  :)

I'll drop in later when I stop for coffee again.

Luv y'all

We have had company here today.  Mom and Bonnie's family were here.  We missed mother's day and Father's day.  Looks like we will miss the July birthdays as well so today was a kind of celebrate every day, day.  Friends from Orillia were here and they stayed to talk to John about how to tear my Kitchen apart.  Looks like I will have a new Kitchen!  Complete with an island!

Ruth my days are so full I barely have time for sewing, let alone learning a new craft.  Perhaps later imn the year.

Pat say Hi to phil and Janice for us.  Perhaps Kathleen and Melaura could become acquainted?

Well I really have to go .  Back later tomorrow.

Hello!  I have just returned from Montezuma, where I met with two other ladies about a business I am getting started in doing.  More about that later--probably LOTS more, if the health benefits to Beth, Mom and Darrel shake out as promised from the products!  ;)

Boy, is it ever HOT here today.  :P It must be around 105 out there.  Just walk a few feat and you break into a sweat.

Curtis was here this morning to help Darrel with some computer problems.  It's always so good to see him and get some of his great hugs.  :)  Even if he is married now, he will always be Grams' boy.

Pat, Kathleen is a big girl, she may be cooking for the two of you!  Anyway, that would be ideal, and good for both of you!  Hope things go really well for you both; it will be nice for you to have some help those times when you need it, and shouldn't be so lonely for you, either.  And she will be out of the house to school, so that should be nice, too.

Larry, hope you get that bill sorted out.  It's an aggravation when things are not done as promised.  They are lucky you are a patient man.  ;)

Etta Sue, we plan to spend the day in Hugoton tomorrow, enjoying kids and grands.  There are all sorts of activities in the park, then a country western concert and fireworks at the football stadium.  I just hope it is cooler tomorrow.  :-\  If we weren't doing that, I would probably spend the day reading or something.

Jane, sounds like your visit is getting off to a grand start.  ENJOY!!

Nita, I'm so glad our prayers are being answered (they always are!) and your back is better.  God bless, and ((((hugs)))).

Marilyn, have fun wrestling with that shed!  ^-^

Well my shed is all together. I had to call for help so the Music Pastor Dennis and his wife Conny came over after work to help.

Janet I know you haven't said yet what your business is going to be but it sounds like it will have to do with Vitamins and supplements. Maybe Trivita??

Tomorrow morning I will be at Jan's and then in the evening a Barbecue at church. I will be home by dark to comfort Happy.

Jane my next door neighbor will be taking care of my dogs  whenever I choose to make the trek north. In the near future my days off will be Friday through Monday, Let me get a little  $$ put aside and I will be there hopefully before the Summer is over. Did I say Summer?? What is Summer ??? I have the heater on this evening.

Nope, Marilyn.  Never heard of that.  I am having major computer problems, seems I have a bunch of viruses that the virus thing cannot clean or quarantine. :P >:(  I've been struggling all evening with it, just now got it back online, but haven't got the junk off as yet.  Why couldn't this have happened this morning when my guru Curtis was here?  He'd have taken care of it in nothing flat.

I must go get the NEM done before something else goes wrong.  And IF I can't, then you will all know the reason why.
