Morning Devotional...

God for All People and Time
Psalm 145:1-21  NLT

    1  I will praise you, my God and King,
       and bless your name forever and ever.
    2 I will bless you every day,
       and I will praise you forever.
    3 Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise!
       His greatness is beyond discovery!

    4 Let each generation tell its children
       of your mighty acts.
    5 I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor
       and your wonderful miracles.
    6 Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue;
       I will proclaim your greatness.
    7 Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness;
       they will sing with joy of your righteousness.

    8 The LORD is kind and merciful,
       slow to get angry, full of unfailing love.
    9 The LORD is good to everyone.
       He showers compassion on all his creation.
    10 All of your works will thank you, LORD,
       and your faithful followers will bless you.
    11 They will talk together about the glory of your kingdom;
       they will celebrate examples of your power.
    12 They will tell about your mighty deeds
       and about the majesty and glory of your reign.
    13 For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
       You rule generation after generation.

        The LORD is faithful in all he says;
       he is gracious in all he does.
    14 The LORD helps the fallen
       and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
    15 All eyes look to you for help;
       you give them their food as they need it.
    16 When you open your hand,
       you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.

    17 The LORD is righteous in everything he does;
       he is filled with kindness.
    18 The LORD is close to all who call on him,
       yes, to all who call on him sincerely.
    19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
       he hears their cries for help and rescues them.
    20 The LORD protects all those who love him,
       but he destroys the wicked.

    21 I will praise the LORD,
       and everyone on earth will bless his holy name
       forever and forever.

    Sometimes our burdens seem more than we can bear, and we wonder how we can go on.  David stands at this bleak intersection of life's road and points toward the Lord, the great burden-bearer.

God is able to lift us up because:

   1  His greatness is unsearchable (v.3).

   2  He does mighty acts across many generations (v. 4).

   3  He is full of glorious splendor and majesty (v. 5).

   4  He does wonderful and awesome acts (vv. 5-6).

   5  He is righteous (v. 7).

   6  He is gracious, compassionate, patient, and merciful (vv. 8-9).

   7  He rules over an everlasting kingdom (v. 13).

   8  He is our source of all our daily needs (vv.15-16).

   9  He is righteous and gracious in all his dealings (v. 17).

  10  He remains near to those who call on him (v. 18).

  11  He hears our cries and saves us (vv. 19-20).

If you are bending under a burden and feel that you are about to fall, turn to God for help.  He is ready to lift you up and bear your burden.

What a long evening.  My son, Tony, came and replaced my ceiling fan in the bedroom.  It was different than my old one so we had to start from number one.  Even though I had some of it already assembled, it took the two of us way too long to get the job done.  And as always, some steps we did more than once.  ::)  :o  ???

Then he checked the battery on my Honda mower and the battery is fine.  And would you believe it started without the battery charger...first for that in a long time.  :o But we did clean the positive post on the battery with baking soda and water.  Maybe that will help.

I forgot to tell you all that when I went to pay for my car maintenance, the man said I have had a critter on my motor.  When they opened the hood of my car there was a mouse nest.   ??? Big one, too.  If I had dared hold it, I would have to hold it in two hands....that big!  Are car interiors mouse proof?  My garage is a pole barn and it isn't mouse proof.  I have even seen a chipmunk run along the back wall.  Thank God, they aren't in the house!

Pat ~ Your clickables worked fine taking me to the Gallery.  I could see the picture you wanted us to see fine.  But before I could post a comment, I had to Log In and then find that persons albums, then the picture to make a comment.  Any shortcuts other than that.

TERRIBLE EXPLOSIONS ROCK LONDON TODAY

Let's all pray for any of our members or guests that might happen to be in the London, England area as it's suspected that the city has been rocked by terrorist bombs and many are feared dead.

I hadn't heard that about London.  Must turn on the news more often.

Yes, Pat, I use Firefox.

Where is everyone?

Oh God our Father - have mercy on the people of London, I pray.  And Father, grant those there who are Your people special grace to help others and to stand in Your strength in the midst of trouble.

Good morning.  My heart aches for those poor people in London.  We are all vulnerable to these types of attacks.  I am particularly sensitive to the subways I rode one to work and back everyday for about 5 years when we lived in the Washington, D.C. area.  You are certainly confined in those deep tunnels.  What evil exists in our world.

I went to coffee this morning and when I came out my car didn't start right off so that met I would have to wait 10 minutes.  Generally that wouldn't be a problem but had it arranged to meet my daughter at the gas station to fill up her car and had no way to contact her.  So I asked one of my good friends and coffee drinking buddies if he could take in over to the station.  It is only about 3 blocks away.  When we got back I tried again to start the car but the 10 minutes hadn't elapsed and it wouldn't start.  I waited about 3 more minutes and then it started.  We haven't been having this problem the last 2 to 3 weeks but Pat had the problem yesterday morning and then I had it again this morning.  It is frustrating as they don't know what the problem is.

Ruth Ann, it sounds like you are working too hard again.  I hope that all your appointments go well today.

Jen, I look forward to seeing the pictures of your new baby.

Etta Sue, glad you got your ceiling fan fixed as expect you can make good use of it.

We had about 5 inches of rain between 10 pm and 6 am this morning from the tropical storm.  I hope the rain is over but it is still cloudy.

Today is Calvin Cove day and then Pat and I are going out to eat at "Smokey Bones" (one of our favorite places) to ccelebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary.  It seems that these years have rolled by much too quickly.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning Watching the news right now. Horrible thing to happen in London. Jenny sent me the link to the BBC website. BBC NEWS (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/default.stm)

Busy day today, as usual for a Thursday.  My friend Willa gave me a bag at Bible Study last night containg and new Navy Blue Blazer to go with the Pants she gave a few weeks ago and two pair of shoes. I have been blessed again thank you Jesus.

Nita; I have left the housing problem in God's hands, I am trusting him to place me where he wants me to live. I am convinced that he has something already for me and has yet to reveal that place.

Today is off to a good start in here!  Hello, everyone!

Ruth Ann, I am praying all your appointments go well and that you get good reports..  You are one busy lady!

Pat, hope you are feeling "fit as a fiddle" today!

Larry, that car ignition problem is surely frustrating!  Goodness!  And the fact they can't figure out what causes it is a stinker, too.  I hope both you and Pat are having a good day.  I wish I could afford to have someone clean for me......well, I guess I could if it were at the tip of my priority list.  But as long as I feel so good, I think I should do it myself.  The reminders from "Flylady.com" are a big help to me.

Jen, I am looking forward to seeing your little one.  It's so nice to have you posting again.

Those awful attacks in London!  How horrible!  How can any human be so INhuman?  The terrorists MUST be stopped.  We are doing the right thing by fighting terrorism in the world.  My prayers go out for our good friend Tony Blair and all the innocent people of his country.

My ladies think they are up to painting again today so I must get the studio ready for them.  More later!

Sad news about London.  :(

{b]Etta Sue, great devotion!

Pat, I use firefox and the galleries work fine to me.  I wonder if it has to do with cookies or staying logged in there.

Hello all!

I'm sad about london.  So far, those I "know" either personally or virtually are all accounted for.  There is one family I haven't heard about, but they actually live outside of london . . .

Janet, I am checking out flylady.  I've been meaning too, adn just haven't gotten around to it.  Perhaps subconsciously puttng it off? :)

Hi soni!

Larry, we too got dumped on.  I don't htink there has been any flooding, yet, but I understand Dennis is right behind Cindy.  The ground here is so saturated, everythign is runoff, and that isn't good . ..   If the sun ever comes out, we may have good crops and stuff this year. ;)

Marilyn, keep us updated about your housing!!

Marilyn, thank you for commenting on my new photo.

I have been reading a lot lately and just not posting.

I was at the Jays game with my dad last night and they won....a shut out even.  I haven't attended many games, but this is the first I have ever attended that they actually won.  What a feeling.  Then went out for a very nice dinner with my Dad.  I felt spoiled!

Sue - that's a good way to be spoiled!  I hope you get spoiled often!  I'm a Giants fan, and I used to go see them when we lived in the Bay Area, but it's a bit far now (300 miles).  Besides, seeing them win is apparently not an option these days!

Yes, it's been a sad day in London.  I have some friends I've been trying to get in touch with but haven't yet heard.  The fellow rides the tube to the city centre each day to work.

Strange how some people have no trouble with Firefox and others do with the gallery.

We'll keep on investigating.

DOWN FROM HIS GLORY (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/downfromhisglory.mid)
(Click to hear music)

Down from His glory, ever living story,
My God and Savior came, and Jesus was His name;
Born in a manger to His own a stranger,
A man of sorrows, tears and agony!

Chorus
Oh how I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him!

What condescension, bringing us redemption,
That in the dead of night, not one faint hope in sight,
God gracious, tender laid aside His splendor,
Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul!

Chorus
Oh how I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him!

Without reluctance, flesh and blood His substance,
He took the form of man, revealed the hidden plan;
O glorious myst'ry sacrifice of Calv'ry!
And now I know He is the great "I AM"!

Chorus
Oh how I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him!

Pat, Aunt Margaret would have scolded me on my voice as I tried to sing the words of that wonderful hymn.  We sang it lots at church didn't we.  My voice has really taken a turn for the worst when I try to sing.  I will never forget her saying "Methinks the girl sings flat!"   LOL

I have not had a radio on for most of the week.  I haven't heard the news about the bombing.  I will watch for it tonight.

It has been a good day.  We went out to dinner with Bonnie, Drake, her friend, and Mother, for her birthday dinner.  We had a good time and Gramma was captivated with Drake.  He is such a sweetie and talks very adult!

Tomorrow I am off work and boy will I enjoy it.  Invintory is a heavy job and the preparation seems to take forever.  Got to say though I really love my job and I have a terrific manager as well!  We are both tea drinkers, and there is always a cuppa close by.

Well I am turning in for the evening.

Night all

JudyB, what kind of job do you have?  Glad "Mother" had a good birthday!

JudyMc....where are you?  Haven't seen you in here for a while, hope you are okay, maybe off having fun or something.b :)

Ruth, good to see you.  I guess we all have those "this and that" kind of days, anyway I know I do.

Don't forget to click on the ads!  We need to do our part to keep this site going (and paid for!)  Thanks.

I'm headed for bed, see you tomorrow.

Adn don't forget, CP doesn't choose or endorse the ads, so if you get something really bizarre, let one of the mods or Pat know.  Right, Janet. ;)

My daughter yodels.  That is the only way I can describe it.  Just before she goes to sleep, she lays there and yodels.  Since all four of us sleep in the same bedroom (long story), Bernard just brought her to me so he adn Travis could sleep!  Now, she is laying there looking at me, not making a sound.    Maybe she'll go to sleep now.

Have a great night.

Hi Marilyn - thanks for missing me.....I HAVE been busy, doing some fun stuff....out with friends for lunches, plus one weekend we went to Lancaster Penn. to see the story of "RUTH"., at a huge theatre there....also "The Psalms of David"., a musical.  Hard to explain, but it was simply fantastic!
