JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

What do you mean, "ever going to be good enough"?  You already are!!!  Shame on you, Ursula:)  I love all your photos.  I agree we need more advertising to sell our prints.

A good place to start is go to your local art gallery and see what they have for art shows.  I entered a photo in a challenge here on my city.  Another way to get your name out there is go to your local hotel or coffee shops and see if you can hang a print or 2 on the walls.  The hotel here is letting me hang 13 of my prints in the main hall of the hotel.  that is exciting.  I tried to get one of the local frame shops here to frame them for me but they couldn't afford it so I guess I will have to spend a couple hundred on frames.
Do you have a business card?  Hand it out to people.  My husband is good at that.  Good luck!

uiba

Thanks, Sonya!

There's a couple neat cafes in town, I'm wondering if they'd let me hang a couple pictures.  There's quite a number of artists in town, especially a very good watercolourist.  I wonder if I could "get in" somehow.  I like the idea of business cards.  I made some for my database business, but never used them.  It might work here.

Thanks again!

Ursula

Definitely go for it, Ursula.  Your photos are absolutely wonderful.

Maybe you could arrange some kind of "subscription" service with the Cafe or other establishment where you change the photo each month or so and stick a little business card in the corner of it.

During his temptation in the wilderness, what Old Testament book did Jesus quote to rebuke Satan?

      1) Exodus
      2) Deuteronomy
      3) Psalms
      4) Isaiah

Jerry: Shingles can be nasty so I trust that you get well quick, try not to worry as that will prolong your shingles.

Pat:   On election day try to remember to take your meals and lots to drink with you because you are not allowed to leave until it is over.  You can have someone bring you a bite to eat but you are not allowed to leave.

Sue & Bruce have gone to a provincial park in Orilla for a time of rest.  They will be back home on June 26th. or so.

Karma:  I like the new look.

Tomorrow I will be spending the day with my aunt and thus far I do not know what or were we are going so it will be a surprise to the both of us when we head out.

Hello Ria.  :)

Janice

Hello everyone!
It has been so long since I signed in here.  I do come in and read the prayer requests every few days (or mainly nights) so I can add my prayers to yours.  Also I sometimes read New Every Morning, when I have time.
Being care giver is a handful sometimes, and I have had to back off a little bit.  It is hard to concentrate when your nerves are on edge.
I hope all of you are doing OK.  I guess we all have our ups and downs, but thank the Lord, He never slumbers or sleeps!  We know He is with us all the way.
Bye now,
Love, Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Pat

Ohhh, Janice you have been so missed.  I'm so glad to see your post tonight.  We'll continue to pray for you.  Yes, I know from experience that caregiving can be quite stressful.

Yes, Ruth, That's the truth about not being able to leave.  I used to do this quite a bit in Richmond Hill but have not done it in Guelph.  I have a school very close to where I live so that's handy.

Well, it is good to see everyone today.  The new picture of Karma and also of Nards has added to the discussions today.  Nice pictures.  Now all we need is ALL of Nard's face and we will be satisfied.

Ursala's 17 year old is having a date and Sonja wonders if she ever let her kids have dates and so it goes.  It is all a part of life.  We raised three daughters and had the experiences all parents have when they begin to think of boys.  I am so thankful that all our children are faithful Christians and also all our grandchildren.

Girls and boys growing up and beginning to think of the opposite sex is the way things are.  It is in the plan.  It is human nature.  It is the way God made us.  What is scary is the influence of the world.  It is absolutely necessary that our children accept the love of Jesus in their lives and adopt the principles of righteousness so when the time comes when they are faced with the pull of their peers to go in the wrong direction they will have the faith to stand up for what is right.

Being a parent is a serious thing.  Children need to know that they are loved and that they are important.  They need to belong.  There is nothing more important that a good Christian family with good roll models.  And I need to get off my soap box.

Mark 10:13-16  People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."  And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

Eph 6:1  Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Titus 1:6 An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.

Prov 22:6  Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.  (NIV)

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Good news!  My daughter will be arriving from North Carolina, with her husband, daughter, son, three dogs and two cats a week from today.  They'll only be staying at their farmhouse, 25 miles from me, for about six weeks, though.

Usually they come earlier in June and stay until after Labor Day.  But this year the Latin lessons the 13 year old girl is taking will be starting the second week in August so ...
