Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Blessings by the Bushel

"And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you."
(Mark 4:24)

How many blessings are you going to receive from the Word of God? It depends on how many you expect to receive. When God measures them out to you, He'll be using your measuring stick, not His own. He always works that way.

Two people can hear God's Word about healing, for example. One will measure it with faith. "Praise God, by His stripes I was healed!" he'll say. "I believe that with all my heart, and I'm going to keep on believing it until I receive my healing."

The other will measure it with skepticism. "I don't care what Bible verses he comes up with," he'll say. "I just don't trust that preacher. I'll give this healing stuff a try, but I doubt very much if anything's going to come of it."

Both of those people will get exactly what they expect. God will measure to them just as they measured the Word. One will get healed...the other won't.

If you want to receive blessings by the bushel load, start going to the Word with a bushel basket. Put a big measure of faith in the hand of God. He'll fill it to overflowing and give it right back to you!

We have not because we ask not (or because we ask amiss).  My mom used to say that to me all the time.

PRaise Report.  Praise Report.  *bling bling*

This morning, Kristi "went" without the medicine, and it was a completely normal "movement."  (Somethings are jsut hard to "talk" about -- ya know?).  So, it looks like we may be on the mend, and we won't have to go to the GI specialist.  AND, we can start feeding her cereal (nutrious paper mache) soon, which is good because she flat out drinks the formula.  We have to stay on the medicine for a while though, just to make sure things stay straightened out.

I gotta run -- Mary Kay training seminar this morning and family reunion this afternoon.  Pictures maybe?

A couple of weeks left in the "Self-Portrait" thread.  Make sure you take a look.  We have a doozy coming up for you in July -- shoudl be alot of fun!!

laters.  Have a great day!!!!!

Marilyn

Good Morning:  It is still raining lake crazy here, yesterday I posted aphoto of how it looks from my front porch  along the side of my trailer. Well that little lake of yesterday is growing, I am thinking that all the constrctuion equipment parked out there is going to sink into the ground soon.  ;D Nothing but big puddles (small lakes) around here.

There is a BD party for Savannah tonight at the skating rink in Blue Lake, Gilbert asked me if I was going to skate, well  just might do that. No promises tho' If  do I will tell Gilbert to take a picture, and you can see this grandma on skates.

Hope you all have a great day.

Larry ~ I have been praying for you big time, buddy.  Praying that something will work out for you and your health problems.  You have a good heart...just want it to work better for you.

Karma ~ A subject hard to talk about but one to praise about!  Thank God that Kristi had a normal movement.

Marilyn ~ Somehow I don't think 'disability' and 'skating Grandma' goes together.  Just hope the government isn't invited to this party for Savannah.  ::)

Two funerals in one day!  I don't mind going to the visiting but I tend to avoid funerals unless they are family.

I dusted and swept the house yesterday.  I will admit to dusting some things and cleaning some things that I hadn't done since moving into this house.  Looks better to me but I doubt if anyone would notice all the work I did.  Still some more things before Small Groups Monday evening.

Today is the day Ivalou and I are attending our g-nephews wedding.  They have been engaged for years and it seemed this day would never get here.  Both graduated from college this spring but Adam is taking another year so he can teach high school English and coach football.  Luckily, he got a job as assistant coach at Hanover College where he will be attending.  I think Karly is a dental assistant or hygenist.  I don't know if she has a job at Madison, IN, or not.

The weather is beautiful...not to hot and bright and sunny.  Great day for a wedding.

Isaiah 53:5, 6 - But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."  What a wonderful passage!  our Lord Jesus received "stripes" (furrows created by a whip, a rod, or a scourging cord), and because of the scourging He received, my iniquities are blotted out!  What a blessed healing it is to be healed thusly from my sins and iniquities!  Oh thank You, Lord Jesus, for undergoing the scourging I ought to have undergone!  Oh thank You, Lord Jesus, that by the stripes You received I am eternally absolved of iniquity!

Yes, from the time Marilyn posted 'til now it hasn't quit raining here.  Strange weather for these parts.  It's summer, but you wouldn't know it!

Etta Sue - be aware that there is one Person Who actually does observe every last thing you clean in your house - our Lord!  He sees all your work, and He loves you while you're doing it and when you're done.  In fact, it's His house too.  You share it with Him!

Marilyn

Etta Sue when you turn 65 you are automatically eligible for SSI. Same as disability.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Not very much accomplished this morning.  I did help Pat uninstall and reinstall her Electric Quilt 5 quilting program on the computer.  She is taking some lessons over the Internet and when she tried to create a project it would allow her to do so.  I think we got it straightened out through a setting during the installation.

It is really a beautiful day here today, not too humid or too hot.  I don't have any other plans for the rest of the day but will rest after lunch.  I walked from the cafe to the Post Office (which is about half a block) and it tired me out, although it was a beautiful morning to walk and that isn't very far.

Thank you all for your continuing prayers and concern for my health.  I don't want anyone to worry about me.  I am doing fine and I don't worry about myself as my faith is in my Lord's hands.

Etta Sue, enjoy the wedding today.

Al and Marilyn, hope you don't have to trade in your cars for boats with all that rain.

Marilyn, my sister-in-law tries to live on disability and it is very difficult.  She isn't really able to work but tries to earn an extra $50 a week by cleaning her church (which is relatively small).  I think one of the men come and help her when she is doing it.

Karmat, that is good news concerning Kristi.  I know as a parent we often feel so helpless in situation like that.  It sounds like you all have a busy day planned.  I am sure Travis will enjoy the family reunion if there are others for him to play with.

I know Janet is away but just want to thank her for preparing the devotional for us today and also thank Pat for seeing that it was posted.

Pat, hope you can have a quiet day today and recharge after your day yesterday.

Judy, you certainly had to retire at an early age.  I was 54 when I retired and thought that was way too young.  If my health had stayed ok I might still be working.

I hope some of our other CP friends will be stopping by to say hi in the next day or two.

Ruth Ann Bice

It's a hard decision for me - retirement. I want to do so many things, and yet, need the finance$ to take care of the home repairs. I'm leaving it in God's hands.

I found a new Christian women's magazine this morning. Wonderful reading thus far. Will let y'all know about it after I've carefully reviewed it.

I've been up since about 6 this morning. Forgot to bring the penicillin home last evening, so left to go to work and get it about 6 a.m. (only missed 1 dose, so hope that won't impede the healing), then had a nice breakfast at a local restaurant. Then, off to grocery shop, and now home to rest.

It's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! weather here in Nashville.

It is cloudy here on Vancouver Island, Ruth Ann.  Can I come visit??

Remember the old saying, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness"?  Did you write it, Pastor Al?? ;)

I may be retired, but have a full job supervising cats.  The couple across the street have a young cat named 'Billy', who we call 'Billy Bob' and who has become Misty's shadow.  He stays outside all the time and now is sleeping in her outside basket and I am feeding him outside as they are away.....did not provide care, etc.  Lord Love A Duck :-\  That is not a real big deal, in itself, other than the fact that our indoor cat, Squeek, goes nuts at the sight of Billy.  She stands at the door or window, etc. and declares her anger in no uncertain terms.  Gives new meaning to the term, 'Hissy Fit'.  Misty & Billy sit in front of the door, mocking Squeek, cleaning themselves in slow motion.  Squeek finally learned to stop getting mad at the sight of Misty, now seems about to go over the edge because of our constant visitor, Billy.  Could be Grandma might go with her......

Think D. De Haan said it all in this little poem:

Lord, help me know from day to day
    The good I should pursue;
  And grant me wisdom to discern
The things I should not do.

;D

Pleasant day all and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

JudyB

Good day folks.

My puter is now up and running, I have had no end of problems, Crashed motherboard, dead hard drive, kiffed modem, who knows what will go next?

Ruth-Ann I hope John brings some of your weather up here, it has been cold and damp for the better part of a week.  The garden is growing well though.

This is a very special Father's day for us.  The girls are home!!!!
Praise god for all His blessings.

To all of you who continued to pray for this end of the family, thank you.  God does answer prayer, and even if the answer is sometimes slow in coming He DOES answer.

Well we are sitting making Father's Day cards so Got to go.  Love to all

Judy

And Can it Be That I Should Gain[/u]
(Click to hear music]

Suddenly there was a great earthquake,
so that the foundations of the prison were shaken;
and immediately all the doors were opened
and everyone's chains were loosed.
Acts 19:26

Words: Charles Wesley, Psalms and Hymns, 1738.
Music: "Sagina," Thomas Campbell, 1835

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior's blood!
Died He for me who caused His pain!
For me who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

'Tis mystery all: th' Immortal dies!
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.
'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father's throne above
(so free, so infinite His grace!),
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam's helpless race.
'Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
'Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature's night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray;
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th' eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th' eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

Wow, I am so happy.

The new schedule at work was posted today.  I need to do some baking and take in my supervisor some goodies before heading out to church tomorrow.  I have Canada Day (July 1) off and the day after.  I can go the trailer without feeling rushed to come home.    She has been so good to me since I lost my full-time job, and given me extra hours and special time off that I hadn't even requested.....Time to let her know how much I appreciate it!

Time to get busy, night everyone!

Pat
