Morning Devotional...Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Heb. 13:8
Our Lord Jesus Christ is unchanging and unchangeable. His constant presence and consistent power are assured by this divine decree.
His care is changeless.
His compassion is changeless.
He has promised never to leave nor forsake His own. (Matt. 28:20; Heb 13:5).
He was the same yesterday.
He is the same today. He will be unchanged tomorrow. He is both Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.
It is then with holy boldness that we may truthfully say, we will not fear.
--Garry SealeImmortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible, hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
Walter C. Smith
Everyone's late this morning. Cannot believe that I'm the first to post.
PAT: That's for those great reminders of Jesus. As I read the words to the song I sang it in my heart. Whatta great hymn.
Am I old or what? Our first grandchild graduates from high school tomorrow. It doesn't seem like that long ago I was holding this newborn child in my arms and marveling at how small her hands were.
Well, let's have the whole hymn Ed. I was going to put it in and forgot.

"To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever." 1 Timothy 1:17
Words: Walter C. Smith, Hymns of Christ and the Christian Life, 1876
Music: "St. Denio," Welsh melody; from Canaidau y Cyssegr, by John Roberts, 1839
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessèd, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish—but naught changeth Thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
But of all Thy rich graces this grace, Lord, impart
Take the veil from our faces, the vile from our heart.
All laud we would render; O help us to see
'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee,
And so let Thy glory, almighty, impart,
Through Christ in His story, Thy Christ to the heart.

Good Morning. Thank you at for the devotional today. That is one of my favorite scriptures.
Hi Ed. You were posting while I was thinking about posting. Congratulations on being first this morning. ;D Old you ain't Old.
I got out of bed earlier than I usually due. Happy was groaning to wake me up he wanted me to pet him. He does that every now and then. So I got up and fixed their breakfast and myself a :coffee: then sat down to read my Bible and pray.
Not much else is new here. The Lord put one of me neighbors that I just met on my heart this morning so later today I will go visit here and see If there is anything she needs. However this prompted me to pray for my neighbors.
So Good Morning all you cheerful CPer's hope to see lots of you posting today.
TTYL
Good morning everyone. I am using a computer in the library of the beautiful retirement facility that our friends moved to here in Ohio. We are staying in the Hospitality Suite that they have where friends or family of the residents can arrange to have them stay. Our friends had a cottage (not exactly small as has about 2000 square feet) built here (it is a part of the complex) and if they ever need assisted living or skilled care it is all available here. There are many apartments here in the "big house" and that is where we are staying.
There is a lovely dining room here and the food is delicious. We had the dinner meal the first night we were here and have had breakfast the last two mornings. We will be leaving for Michigan a little later this morning. It appears to be about a 5 hour drive and we wanted to arrive about the time my cousin and his wife get off work. We will be taking a variety of roads from here so it should be an interesting trip this afternoon. We said our goodbyes to our friends yesterday evening as it takes them a long while to get around in the morning. She is able to walk only with a walker and uses a wheelchair most of the time.
I have read the messages for the last three days but will not try to comment while I am traveling. Just wanted to say hi. Etta Sue, don't think it would work out to meet on this trip as we won't leave my cousin's until probably Monday morning and then will head back to Atlanta. It will take two days to get home as will be a 16 hour trip and about 8 hours a day is enough in the car.
Larry, it's so good to hear from you.
Wish we could have met up.
Good morning all. I just read Ed, that you have 16 grandchildren. It must be wonderful to have such a lot of family around you. Do they all live close?
Pat, the devotional was a great help to my life today. It seems so simple to understand that God's love for us is unchanging and yet it is so easy to question this simple truth. Thanks for the encouraging words.
My car has been taken in for it's annual M.O.T. A lot has changed in the U.K. with regards to how motors are tested for roadworthiness and if a car fails it's going to cost a lot more money, so I am hoping all will be well.
From Last Night
Sue, it's nice to see you posting.
Kevin, it's good to know that you are remaining 'in His grip'. That's a nice phrase to use.
Al, that's good advice to Marilyn. No-one has to suffer that sort of behaviour.
Janet, I'm glad that the care plan went well; perhaps the standard of care will begin to improve. It is good that Beth had the courage to tell the people about that incident. The best thing to do is to report these things, but it is not always easy as there is a possibility of reprisals.
Pat, thanks for the link to info' on the time zones. It is very interesting.
Hi Judy, it's good to just lurk sometimes.
Marilyn, it's good that you are taking a tough line with this man. I trust everything is sorted out for you.
Well, a friend has just called at the house, so I am going to sign off, and I will see you all later.
Anthony.
p.s. I just spotted about four people posted while I was composing. Catch ya later (as they say.)
Hi Anthony...
Tell your mother that there are folks praying for her from over here across the big pond! Give her a special hug for me.
Anthony, over here in some places we have an "Emissions Control Test" to do on our cars. And we have to get it done by the time of our birthday so I must get mine in. We have to do this every other year.
A new link has been added to our "From Our Forums" above. Could you please click on this link and leave an encouraging message to Dave?
Thanks!

It Works Out" READ 2 Corinthians 1:5
When we suffer for Jesus, it works out for your healing and salvation. If we are treated well, given a helping hand and encouraging word, that also works to your benefit, spurring you on, face forward, unflinching. I just received this in a daily email. Now I know where my mother got the saying "Everything will work out". I say this all the time as well and never knew it came from the bible. I said it last night to our daughter -
Carol
QuoteHe has promised never to leave nor forsake His own. (Matt. 28:20; Heb 13:5).
Thanks Pat for this strong quote. What a great morning to realize that I will never be forsaken. I have clung to this message many a tragic time. It has given me strength.
Now I am going back to listen to the song of yesteryears "Immortal....."
Carol
Good morning all.
QuoteAnthony, over here in some places we have an "Emissions Control Test" to do on our cars. And we have to get it done by the time of our birthday so I must get mine in. We have to do this every other year
Pat you had better move up here to the north. We do not have the testing here. Iguess it is coming, but I haven't heard about anything in the rear future.
Beautiful day and I have mowing to do.
Marilyn, yes God does put people on our heart to pray for. Last night I couldn't get to sleep so just started to pray mainly for the peopke here on CP and one of two things happened. 1. God put me to sleep, or 2. the enemy didn't like me praying so let me sleep.
Bye for now and God bless.
Our friend has visited and gone back home so I thought I would quickly pop in before dinner.
All cars here should have an M.O.T. every 12 months. It costs £45:00 even if the car is perfect. If there is something wrong with the car it has to be re-tested after the repairs have been done - that will cost another £45:00 and then the cost of the repairs on top. It seems like a bad deal to me :ticked:. I haven't had any telephone calls yet, so I am presuming that they haven't found anything wrong with it - but you never know :'(
Pat, thank you so much for remembering my mother. She is pretty low again because she is waiting for a hospital appointment that seems to be taking forever. If people could pray for a speedy appointment I would appreciate it, but it may take a visit to the doctors to hurry things along a bit.
Very nice thoughts Carol, you have been a great encouragement today :)
Judy, there's no way that the devil could win in that situation - praise the Lord.
Well, I had better prepare dinner. God bless everyone.
Anthony.
Could we all go and post a welcome message to our newest member, Canonman?
Thanks so much...

Need a grin?
TWO ELDERLY WOMEN were trying on shoes in our store. When I slipped a shoe onto one woman's foot, the end of my tie got caught beneath her heel. Unaware of my predicament, she stood up and started toward the mirror. For a few seconds, I found myself crawling along the floor beside her, trying to get her attention. "Look, Martha," her friend said. "He wants to go home with you!"

Judy: I prefer to think that our saviour puts us to sleep because all of our concerns are already known..
Anthony: It really is nice to have you here. Yes, a little prayer for your mother's appointment. These things seem to drag on so long.
Pat: What are you up to this weekend?
See you all later, Carol
Nice one Janet. that reminds me - I wouldn't mind subscribing to the Readers Digest. Did you know that the Readers Digest is the only magazine I know that costs more if you take out a 12 month subscription than it does if you buy it off the counter in the shops. Strange isn't it?
I am off to bed now. Had a very relaxing evening. Car flew through the M.O.T. which is a good thing because the church will be preaching in the town centre tomorrow morning and I hope to join with them.
God bless everyone and I hope to see you in the morning.
Anthony.
p.s. Thank you Carol for the prayer - and it's good to have you hear too.
Soiunds like a nice time tomorrow, Anthony. Jack would have been so happy to be a part of that.
Hi, friends,
I had to wait until my eyes went back to normal to be able to read and post. I had them dilated yesterday by the eye doctor. The result is very good. No diabetic retinopathy. In fact, he patted my hand and laughingly said, "Mrs. Bice, it's good patients like you who cause doctors who fix eyes to go out of business." And, they also reduced the strength of my biflocal reading lens. So, I'm anxious to try out my new glasses when they come in - supposedly about couple of weeks.
Thanks for your posts here, and welcome to our new friends. I appreciate reading the messages.
Hopefully life will settle down soon so I can have the time to post and pray more as I used to be able to do.
Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Janet ~ Thanks for the wishes of a good trip. On the road was fine but otherwise, I hope we never go through it again. Will explain below. I am so happy that Beth is asking for things from home and sharing meals with others at the home.
Al ~ Dump away! My philosophy, too!
Pat ~ It must have rained big time here yesterday, last night, this morning...or sometime since early yesterday morning and now. Lots of big ponds in the fields and yards.
Anthony ~ We drove the interstate to Grand Rapids and back. It is more miles but faster because we can go 70 mph. I would rather take the other roads....amble our way there and back...than scramble there and back. Less stressful! Do I remember that your bedrooms are upstairs? Does your Mother still climb those stairs?
Marilyn ~ Dump him and if he gets 'Roman' hands before the end of the month....dump him on the spot and tell him why!
Karma ~ Actually Tony and Charlene are going on the Parkway sometime this summer...I can't remember when. I am thinking in August. But on those trips he will be taking the BMW. It is a bigger cycle...all enclosed...can't see the motor. The seat is more comfortable for Charlene. Plus where they put their clothes, they can take it in the motel rooms. Plus it has a 6-CD player. And heat in the seat and the handlebars if it happens to get cold or the need to dry out if it rains. Something about the windshield...it tilts or goes up and down or something. And yes, a GPS built in the tank just below the handlebars. And quiet! I will let you know when they leave to the Parkway!
Carol ~ Yes, a day isn't right without The Word and prayer. Everything goes wrong without either.
Hi, Running Sue!
Kevin ~ Isn't it wonderful that God provides all our needs for us? And we don't deserve any of it. But he loves us anyway.
JudyB ~ Quit that! You mustn't just lurk!! Shame on you!!
Pat ~ Sometimes us human think that Jesus has forgotten us. But it is us humans who have forgotten or put aside Jesus. Jesus is and always will be.
Ed ~ Uh, that's what happens when you love and nurture a child...they grow up! Too fast!!
Larry ~ I have resigned to the fact that me meeting anyone for lunch or just to chat on these journeys to Grand Rapids is out of the question. But I thought of you and Pat when I was near Fort Wayne on I-69. I don't know if you were on I-69 or not but I still thought of you.
Ruth Ann ~ You will be seeing better soon!!
It was a stressful two days. Well, actually yesterday wasn't too bad other than having to get up at 3:45 A.M. And the therapist showed Walter how to get down to his knees then sit on his behind and get back up...and he did it four times. We ate dinner at the motel restaurant and got into our rooms way before dark. I was sleeping really well and the phone rang at 5:54a.m. No one there. It rang again at 6:07 a.m. Still no one there. And again a few minutes later. This time I called the Operator of the motel. And he said it must have been a wake-up call but I didn't leave a wake up call. Then someone knocked on the door. It was Nancy. It seems that Walter had been sick to his stomach most of the night and that she wanted to leave for home as soon as possible. She said I had time to shower because she still needed to dress him. So I was all ready to go and the phone rang again. Nancy again. This time she said that Walter was on the floor in a place that she couldn't even help him get up. So I went to the room. I didn't watch him get up with the therapist so I didn't know what to do. I even got on the floor to see how I would get back up but he wouldn't do that. So Nancy ended up calling the front desk and two men came in and got Walter up like he was a 40lb boy! So I went back to my room while Nancy finished getting Walter ready.
When I went back to their room she said that Walter wanted to go to Rehab and work. So we went to Rehab and his BP was high and Megan, the therapist, said she didn't want to have Walter work today so we headed home.
Well, It is about 240 miles from the Rehab to Greenfield so I thought, let's get Walter home and forget about getting him in and out of the car to eat somewhere...So I made it in less than 5 hours. And we stopped three or four times for water, snacks and such. I was relieved to get him back in his house and me on my way home. I don't know how Nancy does it!! »ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

LOL Janet that was a good one. I read it to Rick and he enjoyed it as well.
Lawn tractor quit yet again...... :clobber: :clobber: I wish a hammer would work. John needs to sharpen the blades. We know what the problem is, just fixing it is a prob. Will take a couple of minutes once the repair guy gets at it, just he is the typical slow northener. We travel at a slower speed up here to the "foreigners" from the south.
Well got to go.
Bye till later.
Ohhhh, Etta Sue, what a time you've had! Wish I could help you with this driving. Sorry you had a stressful time this time.
Sorry about your lawn tractor, Judy. Hope you manage to get it fixed.
Closing up early tonight.
