Morning Devotional...

This is My beloved Son. Matthew 3:17

This is my beloved...my friend. Song of Solomon 5:16

Christ is both the Beloved of the Father and the Beloved of the saints.

He who is the delight of His Father's heart is the delight of His people also, so that we may say, "Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ."

Together with the Father we have found all that we desire in the Son.

He is our Beloved, too.

Taken up with Thee, Lord Jesus,
I would be;
Finding joy and satisfaction
All in Thee;
Thou the nearest, and the dearest,
unto me.

Well, I guess I'm the first to say "howdy" here today ...
Thanks, Pat for the devotional.  I love it that I can call Jesus my friend!  I love it that I can talk with my Father ... any time, about any thing!

I really just stopped in at this moment to mark my place for later ...  ;)

I think Nita will be over in the morning to trim my hair for me.  She is laughing about this but I told her she can't laugh until after she's through!  She says I can't have a mirror either!    :-\  Oh well, what can you expect when you have to put up with   make do with rely on friends to help you in your time of need.   :-\

BTW, we didn't get to go out and about on Saturday because Nita's day got changed for her ... families have a way of doing that y'know?  We'll see about another time ... just go with the flow, what else can you do?   ???   ;)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Mornin' friends,

It's early, but I'm heading in to work early today. Got lots to do and there's never enough time. This time it's either fill out my expense form or go get in the soup kitchen line! <rueful grin>

I had a most lovely day yesterday. Just simple things like getting to eat (with coupons) with a dear friend who's almost like my aunt following church, then I took her by to see the office building where I work (she had worried about my safety when I have to work overtime).

Then I got to substitute for the pianist at last evening's service - what a pleasure to be able to present my somewhat rusty musical talents to God as my offering of praise!

After church, another mother/daughter duo and I stopped by the local barbecue restaurant for barbecue-stuffed potatoes. The food was good, and the fellowship even better.

How better to spend the day that in God's house, and with godly friends. And, of course, it was wonderful to have a long conversation with my daughter in law, as well.

Y'all have a good day. And, Jane, give Nita a hug from me, please. :)

Good Morning Folks...

I'm just on my way to Hamilton with my neighbour but thought I'd just stop in here to say, "Hi".

I'll be back later on this afternoon.

It's going to be strange to have Janet away all week so let's make up for it and post more!   ;D

See you all later.

Hi to everyone.  We have a busy place here this morning on a glorious sunny day.  We have two contractors here doing some things for us and the two ladies are here for the bi-weekly house cleaning.  Pat really appreciates getting the house all cleaned at one time and they do a very good job.

Welcome, John, we are glad that you found us and look forward to your participation.

Jeanne, I certainly agree that we Presbyterians and join in that Pentecostal dance.  We had 4 young ladies do a Liturigical dance as a part of the youth service at our church yesterday.

Pat, another fine devotional message.  In my daily Bible reading I am now reading the Psalms and they are full of praises to God.

Marilyn

Good Morning: Thank you for the devotional Pat.As always it gives us something to think about during the day and ponder on. Jesus is my very best friend. How could we even think otherwise. He laid down His life for us, and as the scripture says, "greater love hath  no man than to lay down His life for his friends."
Gilbert called last night and said the place would ber ready by July 1. My plans have been set and I can't be there by then. Soi I am hoping that his landlord will accept my depost and be will to hold the place until the 12th. From what Gilbert tells me That shouldn't be a problem.

Papa John

Good morning everyone.

Pat, thank you for the devotional today.  I love Jesus who is my beloved and He is my friend.

Judy, yes we do have a family here.  It is interesting there are ties which bind us even though we have never met personally.

I have recently added a page to my website honoring our granddaughter Martha Nell.  If you would like to take a peek go to :  http://johnmurphreenashville.homestead.com/TributetoMarthaNell.html

Welcome to John Setzler

This afternoon we go to the hospital for my steroid injection.  I'm really not excited about it.

I hope you all have a good day.

AL~ I recall a chorus we used to sing: "Oh, I care not what church you belong to, just as long as for Calvary you stand.  So, today if your heart is as my heart, you're my brother (sister) so give my your hand!"    :D

JOHN~ You came in while I was posting, but I want to tell you I really enjoyed those photos ... and the one you posted for Father's Day ... You are remarkably talented with your photography skills ... amazing.  Thanks.

Karma and Sonja are both much better at that sort of photo that I am... I am digging for the 'emotion' in my shots and haven't quite found it yet...

Good Morning! Stopping by to say, " HI"  :)

Welcome John, you have some lovely work, thanks for sharing.
We had a very busy weekend here and I have much catching up to do with the house and kids. I hope to be back later and post some photos.

We had a great speaker at church yesterday. A man from Africa. He had a powerful message. He feels if you've been a christian for 5 years or more you need to be " out there" serving and witnessing to others. " out there" could be Africa or just across the street to your neighbors. He gave each individual a great deal to think about and consider. He also spoke boldy about the amount of quality time we spend with the Lord.
I asked my husband if he was ready to pack up and go to Africa.  ;)

Have a good day,
Denise

Jane - the only thing I care about is - - - has your heart been captivated by Jesus Christ?  Are you awed before Him?  Do you hate sin because it is contrary to Him?  Yes answers to these, in my estimation, are what make us brothers/sisters.

Pat

Good Evening!

Here it is evening and I'm wondering where everyone is!

I went to Hamilton with my neighbour and found it very difficult to stay awake!  LOL  I was happy when Dianne asked if I'd mind stopping at a few garden centres to see hanging baskets and this helped me to take a big breath and clear my head.

As you know, I am also a member of the DPC along with a few others here and I tried and tried all last evening to work on a challenge photo but just couldn't come up with anything.

So...  Sometimes those challenges are difficult!

I'm certainly missing Mieka and Janet!

Now, hopefully, the rest will post this evening.

I hope that Iain over on that island off the mainland of Scotland will come and say "Hi" soon!   ;D

And hopefully, Chris and Margit in England will post a wee message.

Maybe we should sing a hymn together!

I'll go and get one.

As the deer panteth for the water[/size]
(Click to hear music)

Written by Martin Nystrom

Psalm 42:1
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

As the deer panteth for the water,
So my soul longs after you.
You alone are my hearts desire,
And I long to worship You.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

I want you more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

You're my friend and You're my brother,
Even though you are a King.
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

Good evening everyone:

Just a few words to say hello and that I have been in prayer as I was reading your posts.   Besides going to work I spent the middle hours of the day with my Aunt doing errands and it is always such a joy.  On these special days we also have lunch out her treat.

I was not feeling well last week flu I guess, and now my energy is starting to return.

Blessing to all           Ruth

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Pat,

Thank you for the song. I really love this song! I've worked hard today catching up on house work and laundry. I did find an hour to sit out on the patio and read a chapter of And the Shofar Blew. I've only completed two chapters so far. It's going to get good!

With Summer setting in and the weather being so beautiful I'm sure everyone is out enjoying the beautiful creation given to us by God. I hope you are all doing well.

I posted a few pictures of our recent hike.
Have a good night.

Hi Ruth and Denise!

Great to see you in here.   Sorry you've been sick, Ruth.  I'm happy though that you could have that special time with your aunt.

Denise, I got all of the information package today in the mail from the New York Photography course that I sent for.  Haven't read it all yet.    I'm looking forward to seeing the photos of your hike.

These Halters I saw in a discount pet supply catalogue for 16.95 apeice, I got both of them for 18.00 plus 3.95 for priority mail, not bad Huh? I think I will like doing business with them. WEll I am off now to check my email and the other posts here.

I have lots to be grateful for today. Including the fact that my boss gave permission for me to scoot down to Atlanta tomorrow to be with my granddaughter at her very first piano recital.

Reminds me of the story about my own first recital. I was a little one (nearly 7) and very excited. Our recitals were held in a grand old mansion and the students sat on the curving staircase.

I had practiced until I knew my music backwards and forwards and could play completely in the dark without error. So, I spent the day of the recital in a high state of anxiety, excitement, and probably a bit of worry.

The little ones sat at the top of the stairs following their performance and then the stairs filled as the older students took their seats. The evening was warm, the staircase heavily carpeted, and a certain young girl found herself nodding off! In fact, I nearly fell through the balustrades, so Daddy found his way up the stairs through the sea of young ladies' tulle evening dresses, picked me up, and I slept blissfully in his arms for the remainder of the evening.  :)

Hopefully I'll be able to come back refreshed from a great evening with my family tomorrow, and maybe I might even have a more up to date tale to tell.  ;)

Hey y'all ... I'm back!
PAT~ I've had three or four midis playing continually on my computer all day today ... and one of them is "As The Deer" ... I love that one, too.
NITA came over for a couple hours around noon today.  Actually she was only coming to trim a few tag ends off my hair, but we got to talking about our love for the Lord and reading scriptures ... then we remembered why she came!   ::) She dashed out of here as soon as she laid the scissors down and before I could get to a mirror to see what she'd done :D  We laughed a lot ... a whole lot ... nearly ROFL ... It sure is good to have a good friend with whom we can share laughs and tears and all the in-betweens.

Not to worry, AL,  them's my sentiments 'zactly!  :D ;) ;D ... and I can most certainly answer YES to each of your questions, Brother!   :D

RUTH ANN~ I can relate to the story of your first piano recital ... been there, too, but I have a very embarrassing memory of the first time I was to play the offertory in church at age 12.   :-[  If you don't mind, let's not go there, okay?

I miss Mieka and Janet today, too   :-\  :'(

I wouldn't be afraid of plastic swans either.  At first I thought you meant that someone bought 4 real swans, and I didn't think that would help the problem, just make more birds. ::)

Ruth Ann's story reminded me of soemthng I started to suggest a while back and forgot.  We should share our most embarrassing stories sometime.  Those can be a hoot.

But someone else can start, thank you.  ;)
