How To Face Serious Illness
James 5:14-15 says...
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Isaiah 26:4-3 says...
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Morning Devotional...As his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike. 1 Samuel 30:24
A small dissension broke out in David's army over how the spoil should be divided. The 400 who battled felt the 200 who stayed with the "stuff" should receive nothing.
But David said all would share equally.
Tarrying by the "stuff"--perhaps not the most desirable place--is an essential place nevertheless.
We are thankful for those who go into all the world, but they wouldn't be able to go if it were not for those who pray, support practically, and encourage.
We can all play a vital role in the work of God and, if so, will share the blessing of the Lord.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."

[shadow=green,center]Love you, Janet! [/shadow]
The 20th of June.
The birthday of our beautiful mother. Who departed this earth last July. Visited her grave and placed flowers.
At the moment suffering from a broken heart brought on by a decietful woman who I thought was not only my friend but a future wife. I met her on Yahoo personals feel lonely with our mother no longer here. And I have been divorced for over seven years now!
I thought nothing ventured nothing gained and it was more of a few moments to spare thing that I clicked in.
I now find she was looking for a shoulder to cry on to get her through a bad patch in her life. Or so I thought!!
Inner feelings inside of me these last few months told me something was amiss here.
Marilyn asked me to register with AOL messsenger. I clicked on the page and was confronted with AOL personals. I then thought to myself "Gina" has AOL has her server. There she was on AOL and when I confronted her she told me her friends in work had put the ads on. But the wording was the words from her lips. For I have known her for ten months.
I found three sites with her ad on board one stating she was sexually adventurous. When reading this I was shaking with grief that this woman who told me she loved me was searching for sexual partners for casual sex.
She told me she was on six sites. That her friends had put her name on. How many replies daily has she been getting I ask myself. Having placed a ad myself with no photo to see the response I recieved ten. She has lost weight and is now really beautiful. From the outside!!
It was time to say goodbye.
For I detest a liar and a decietful person
I told her time we said Goodbye. Ok Goodbye! she said.
No other why are we saying goodbye nothing just Goodbye
A unchristian feeling came over me. And I wrote her a letter how I felt having been betrayed . Hoping that the last guy if he really existed and who did her harm. She met another real soon.
But this time Alan would not be here to listen to her cries of grief on the phone every single night. Even to be woken at two in the morning because she could not sleep. Thinking of that guy who did her harm.
I told her phone me anytime if you need a friend to talk to. I will always be here!
Then ten months later it was just Ok! Goodbye!.
She did respond to my letter. Telling me to go get my spade dig a hole and go to hell.
Times like these you lose your faith in the human race that others can inflict pain on each other invisible pain deep inside.
I have a few photos on my site if anybody would care to view.

...I will celebrate for the Lord
David was rediculed for his exuberance as he
rejoied with dancing at the Ark of the Covenant's
return home.
He refused, however, to be deterred by such
criticism.
This was a great day.
His God was the only great and true God.
He would celebrate for the Lord!

full of grace and mercy,
awesome in power and holiness,
You are my joy, my hope,

Irejoice in You as the only One,

Sorry, Ria. I was exhausted and had to rest in bed all day yesterday. Hopefully, I'll feel able to go in to work, but it looks doubtful at this time.
Backpacker, I understand your pain. I endured something similar after widowed for awhile. Am not anxious to have that kind of pain. Yet, I don't think God intended for us to live our lives alone. (Here I am, 31 years later, saying this...)
Y'all have a good day.
Ruth Ann
Just wanted to let you know that I'm out here....alive and well.
As for numbers and the numbers of those posting....may I remind you that David got in trouble when he took a census.
As I have said before, I visit most every day and write at least once a month....he he!
Getting ready to go on an extended trip in July w/my BW...be gone for a month...no computer. I imagine both of my mailboxes will be filled to capacity, as well as my answering machine.
I was going to post, but my son has just turned his high chair over and dragged it into the computer room. Wonder if he is hungry??
Back later
Good Morning Everyone...
Great to see you here (those who are!). If you are a Guest, please consider registered and entering into our conversations.
If you are a long time member but just don't post, please feel free to say "Hi" to us all. We do wonder where you all are.
Thanks Soni... Amazing what you can use to make a pretty card! I love your little froggie!
Ria, what a great poem today.
I hope that Alan sees it as I do believe that it will help him get through this problem time in his life. I'm going to repeat it here...
A WONDERFUL WAY
God has provided a wonderful way
for handling life problems -
just trust Him and pray ...
And when things look brigter

Nice to see you Ed! I do wish that everyone who has registered on CP would come and make themselves known. I'm glad that you are out there...alive and well. LOL Where are you planning on going, Ed? Anywhere nice where you can take lots of photos?
Hello there, Ruth Ann... I'm so sorry that you've not been feeling well.
Well, I have a lawn to cut and some weeds to pull.
So I'll be back a little later on.
HAHAHA! Karma, go feed your little guy! LOL
Here is the devotional fro my Days of Praise devotional that I receive once a month from The Institute for Creation Research www.icr.org (http://www.icr.org) is their web site.QuoteJune 21 - ALL THE DAY LONG
"And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long" (Psalm 35:28).
This particularly long day today happens to be the date of the summer solstice, when the daylight hours here in the United States and Canada are longer than for any other day of the year, making it traditionally the first day of summer. Thus it seems fitting that, for a devotional quarterly entitled Days of Praise, today should be dedicated to praising our wonderful God of righteousness, grace, and love all the day long.
All of us do have our real problems and difficulties, but our blessings are always greater, and we can surely devote one long day just to praise and thanksgiving. Note a few other verses with this comprehensive and challenging phrase.
Psalm 44:8 "In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah."
Psalm 71:24. "My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt."
Proverbs 23:17. "Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long."
Actually, this expression "all the day long" was the translators' felicitous way of rendering just two words ("all day") in the original. The word for "all" (Hebrew, kol) in fact does imply "the whole," and the word for "day" (yom) commonly implies "sunset to sunset."
Therefore, the exhortation of David is appropriate—perhaps today especially. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits" (Psalm 103:2) And do so, all the day long! After all, He has promised to show "the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus" all eternity long (Ephesians 2:7). HMM
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET

Thank you Pat and Ria for the devotionals you have posted for today I hope you will also enjoy the one I have posted.
Ria I got tired just reading all the work you are doing on your house. I have busy days myself.
I am going to be working more hours now that I only have just Fay and Gloria it comes out to about 47 hours per week, For awhile I will be with Gloria 7 days a week, however most of Sunday will be spent in church with her and not on the clock.
I will be here as often as I can; every morning for sure and after work.
I amy comment to everyone I don't anyway but I will try to at least once in a while.
Karma I hope you are not having those mornings that I remember so well, spent worshipping the porcelain god. :-[
Alan I am sorry for you that someone has broken your heart. I really don't know how to comfort you. I have been there in your shoes and it isn't easy to be comforted when your heart is breaking with every word spoken or written.
Well must get back to reading my email.
TTYL
Good morning everyone.
Pat the answer to your last quiz:
Acts 14:8-11 In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed and called out, "Stand up on your feet!" At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, "The gods have come down to us in human form!" (NIV)
Backpacker, sorry about your bad experiences. Sometimes it is better to meet with disappointments now than even greater disappointments later on. God bless you as you work out these things and look to the future to better circumstances.

Church was wonderful yesterday but if it could go wrong with the duplicating of the audio tapes, it did. First I couldn't get the tower to turn on. It was plugged in...we always unplug it. The power strip was turned off. We never turn it off. It was all plugged in but the tower wouldn't turn on. The man over the A/V team asked what was wrong. He pushed the rocker switch and it turned on...go figure. Then the labels were in the printer wrong. I checked the pile and some were right, some were wrong. I smudged the ink on the first 'right' label. I started duplicating after the service and didn't have the blank tapes in the machine. But it was wonderful....very much a learning experience. I didn't leave church until 12:25 p.m.
I stopped and got White Castles to take to Jerry's. If White Castles were good enough for Mother's Day, they were good enough for Father's Day.
Personally I don't think Jerry has Shingles. He has hives from an outside source or from something he ate. They don't look like shingles and they are on his inner arms, some on his face, some on his chest and some on his back. I don't think Shingles are like that but he says it says on the internet that they can be. Whatever. He has Calamine Lotion now to stop the itching.
I took a nap at Jerry's and then we went to Hardee's. I came on home.
Today I have a doctor appointment with my Urologist for a cystoscopy. Pray that there are no tumors is my bladder. I have a feeling that I am fine. Ivalou is going with me. We will eat somewhere afterwards and then she is to get a new lens in her glasses at WalMart.
Another busy day.<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

Alan ~ I forgot to comment. You sound as though you are down. As you should feel when you have been betrayed and lied to. I know how you feel. Been there, done that. Like Ruth Ann...I am single and intend to stay that way. I love my independence.
Happy Birthday Janet.
Etta Sue will be praying for you, after the test enjoy your day.
Alan, I pray youfeel the presence of the Lord today.
Karma Congratulations on the new baby. Unfortunately the first three months can be rough, I will be praying for you.
By all I have yard work to do today, have a good day.
Blessinfs all
Hi everyone. We just had some of that 40% chance moisture that was predicted for us late this afternoon. It didn't last very long.
I am going to help a friend from church setup her new computer this afternoon. Think I mentioned the friend who had lost her computer to lightning on Thursday evening. She got a new one but doesn't want to attempt to set it up herself so am happy to help. I am sure that will take all afternoon by the time I get her setup on the Internet again and load some programs for her. I downloaded and saved to CD several that I knew would take quite awhile to download on a dial-up connection. I am sure I will enjoy the afternoon as always like to work with a new computer.
Marilyn, it looks like your prayer for a better work situation has been answered. I am glad you won't have to deal with the difficult lady and her son anymore.
Alan, so sorry to read of your extreme sadness over the loss of what you thought was a special friend and potential lifemate. It sounds like she just wanted to use you and really didn't care very much for anyone but herself. Hope your days brighten soon and you meet someone who will truly care for you.
Etta Sue, sure hope you get another good report from your doctor today. It sounds like you had quite a time at church yesterday but that everything turned out well after all.
Karma, I do think Travis was giving you a pretty strong signal there. What a joy these little ones can be. :D
Pat, do hope it isn't too hot up your way for your yard work today. Please don't overdo. I liked the verse you included for Alan and think it will benefit us all to heed its sage advice.
Ed, it sounds like we will be traveling about the same time. We are leaving next Sunday morning to go to Kansas City for a few days and then going on to Denver to attend a cousin's 50th wedding anniversary and will do a couple of days of seeing some of the sights in Colorado. I am planning on taking my computer so hope to be able to at least stay up-to-date on reading the postings. Had thought I wouldn't fool with the laptop but have changed my mind. The motel where we will stay in Denver for a few nights has a wireless internet connection available so I couldn't resist.
Ruth Ann, sorry to read that you were so exhausted and it sounds like you could use another day off to rest. Do hope you are feeling better today.
Janet, welcome home. I have missed your cheerful postings these last few days.
Ria, glad you were able to get a nap in and that may be what you will have to do until your husband can keep his September appointment. I know it is disrupting to have to move furniture from a room but sure it will have been worth the effort when the work is completed.
Sonja, does your local newspaper have a website? If so, can you link to the story in which you were quoted?
Judy, nice to read that you had such a lovely day yesterday and enjoyed the time with your friends. Friends are so special. Glad that Norm had such a good day.
Jeanne, hope the work isn't too heavy at your office this week.
Liz, don't envy you putting up with the heat with no air conditioning. Is the humidity bad along with the heat? Think I would try to stay in front of a fan.
Papa John, it sounds like you and Cornelia planted some seeds with your friends years ago. Know your hearts were thrilled to hear that your friends had accepted Jesus Christ for their salvation.
Guess I had better get a bite to eat as will soon be time to leave for the afternoon.
Hi Ladybug. We were posting at the same time.
Larry~ Here is a link to part of the story. click here (http://www.gillettenewsrecord.com/articles/2004/06/20/sports/sports01.txt)
Interesting about Jerry's problem, Etta Sue. My dad had shingles a few years back and they were bad. They were more like big bruises. He said it hurt to put a shirt on.
Sounds like a nice sport, Soni. I've never heard of it before. Thanks for the link.
Great devotionals
Larry: About the Bus Roadeo an increase in the pay check that will never happen. All school bus drivers anywhere are the bottom rung of the ladder with a whole lot of responsibility and only a thank you at the end of the day.
Yesterday was Father's Day and our granddaughter Jennifer called to give Grandpa her best wishes.
Then a couple of hours later Sue called from their camping spot in Orillia asking us to go up for dinner.
We have 4 school days left so this morning I filled a cooler with popsicles to treat each of the children I have in the morning, then this afternoon when I head out, I will be filling the cooler again for the children of the other groups I deliver home. It was several months ago one of the afternoon children let me know that I had previously treated them, I then asked if that was a hint for this year and you should have seen the big smile.
Kids are so unpredictable and I must admit I love them dearly.

Hey, guys! Just a quick howdy from me.
Alan, so sorry to hear of your pain. Hang in there.
Gotta run for now, maybe more later. Good day to all!
Hi Larry I wish you lived nearby as I have been told by a friend that I need to clear my puter and then put everything back on again. He lives so far away that it will be a while before I go there. I suppose it is the same as spring cleaning? ??? ??? ???
The weather is beautiful. Watching the freedom of the children at play is wonderful. Oh to be a child again....but there would always be those teen years to come! ;) ;)
The verse "Phi 4:11 ........ for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." is a constant reminder not to grumble.
Just a quick message to let you know that something happened about an hour ago to my main PC and I'm on this very old laptop that I can hardly get online with.
I have phoned my friend but there's no reply so I'm hoping that he's not away on vacation or something.
I will be back later if I can be.
Pat, I am so sorry you are having problems with that computer. I know it can be pretty frustrating. Hope you can get ahold of that person soon.

"There shall be showers of blessing." Ezekiel 34:26
Words: Daniel W. Whittle, 1883; first appeared in Gospel Hymns No. 4.
Music: James McGranahan, 1883
There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Grant us now a refreshing
Sound of abundance of rain.
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Over the hills and the valleys
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
Refrain:
There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

LARRY: If you have time while in Colorado, drive down to Colorado Springs south of Denver to see Dr Dobson's Focus On the Family Campus. They have tours and a TERRIFIC media/book store.
Leadville, Co has pile after pile of lead. At first the miners didn't know the lead contained silver. After the veins of silver ore panned out, someone took a look at all of the lead and discovered it contained silver.
The Rocky Mountain National Park is another site to visit. If you go, rent/buy the tape that leads your through the park and explains all of the sites.
If you have more time to travel, let me know and I'll clue you in on some more things to visit...how about a Whitman's Chocolate Candy Factory where the candy is dirt cheap? Well, dirt is not all that cheap anymore, is it?
Fast Eddie: That sounds like a terrific vacation.
Well, Howdy, everybody!! WE got home this evening, after being away since Wednesday morning. It was around 100 degrees here in our corner of Kansas when we left, so none of us except Beth took even a long-sleeved shirt, and---you guessed it! It was C~O~L!~D!!! It rained on us all the way to Hershey, Nebraska, and we didn't see the sun for four days! We all borrowed sweatshirts and jackets from my sis and her husband, so I'm glad they have a closetful of them.
We attended the Nebraskaland Days Professional Rodeo one night, and it was really fun! (Even though it was 55 degrees!) Then the next day, it was only 45! And last night, after having warmed up so that we all went out and flew kites, it came up really black clouds and a torrential rain and wind! This morning, there were huge limbs on the ground and stuff blown all over the place. I'm glad we helped them get most everything put away earlier.
Anyway, the reunion was wonderful. Family grows dearer with each passing year, and it is fun to talk to the young kids. Several are out of school and making carreer choices at this time, some just entering their teen years, and we still have some younger ones, too. Abby had a wonderful time getting to know some of her cousins and playing with them.
Thank you to: Jane, Ria, Ursula, Marilyn, Larry, Sonja, Pat and Ladybug for the birthday greetings. Several of you made me beautiful cards, and I love each of them!! I knew I could count on my friends at CP to remember my birthday!
On Saturday night, Abby didn't want to go to the trailer and go to bed, because she said "Nobody even sang Happy Birthday to you, and nobody gave you a present, and it's not fair!! And I'm not going to bed till they do!!" Bless her little heart. :) But she had to go to bed anyway, and the next morning, there was a cake with my picture, and one great nephew and one great niece's pictures on it, saying Happy Birthday Janet, Tony and Hannah. So then Abby felt better about it. ;D ;D
It was sad when looking at the reunion photos from two years ago, seeing Beth in the sack races, and this year there she was in a wheelchair. She isn't walking well AT ALL now. At our family church service, everyone gathered around her, laid hands on her and prayed for her. I know God loves her even more than we do, and He is in control.
I haven't read all the posts yet, but will get it done as I can. When you get behind, it's hard to catch up! And I had 367 new emails, too!
Thanks again for the cute, pretty, and funny cards. I loved them all, and I love all of you, too! :-* :-* :-*

PAT: We will be traveling first to Ashville NC to see Billy Graham's "The Cove" It is a training center for christians. Also we may visit the Biltmore Mansion.
Whoa, dude. You are going to be like 20 miles from Bernard and me!!!!! Asheville is nice. Be sure to take a camera to the Biltmore House, even if it is a disposable point and shoot. It is gorgeous. You can't take pictures inside the houes, but the grounds are simply amazing!
Time to get the high chair dragger into bed. This should be fun. :P

ps -- Marilyn, so far so good. I've felt a little puny, but nothing that would lead me to
that altar yet. I'm fortunate, I guess. :)
Fast Eddie -
I LIVE IN NASHVILLE!!! Any possibility we could meet for lunch or a glass of ice tea or something?
Send me an instant message, please and I'll reply as quickly as possible. Would like to know your anticipated dates for being in Nashville.
Pat, I really hope your computer problems ease up right away.
Ria, doing all that work makes me very ashamed of all that needs to be done at my house and is not being taken care of. Don't overdo.
And, although things look bleak right now with everything out of place, try to look through this time to the wonderful results when you have it put back together. I can imagine you walking from room to room, eyes shining with pride and joy and the feeling of deep thanksgiving in your heart that you and your hubby could accomplish your goals.
Your prayers must have helped. I could scarcely walk this morning, and in fact, my son had to carry my rolling computer and put it into the truck - I couldn't lift it. Around 9 am the pain began to be much more manageable, and by end of the day, I felt almost back to normal.
Thank you for your concern and prayers.
Ruth Ann
Karma I am so pleased to hear that your mornings so far are pleasant ones.
Pat so sorry to hear that you are having computer problems.
Janet thank you Jesus you made it back home all safe and sound.
What a day I have had since I got back home. My computer would not let me onto any secure sites and I couldn'T check my bank statement. Then I find a charge to my bank for something I did not buy. GRRRRRR.
Had to do a system restore. to get the secure sites back running.
Have to call the bank tomorrow and get that taken care of.
Gloria's home care nurse is going to teach me how to cook for a diabetic and to watch all her intake.

Fast Eddie, that sounds like a wonderful trip! Enjoy! And do try to visit Karma and Nards and Ruth Ann! I can hardly wait for September when I will get to meet Pat and Ruthie!!!
It's raining again!! WOW! Wonderful that the drought is broken at last. When we got home the flowers and the garden looked better than when we left!
Thanks, Marilyn! I really was praying over that tire situation! Oh, I guess I didn't tell you all about that! We hit a piece of metal on the road on the way to Nebraska, then on the way back, the tire that hit it came apart. Getting a truck tire out from under the bed of the truck is difficult, they are SO heavy--- then when we got the spare on, it was nearly flat, too. We were very near the tiny town of Shallowater, Kansas, and limped into town and found an air hose to air it up, then made it on home in good shape. Darrel is wondering if he is supposed to be an RVer because that makes about six tires we have had to replace on our rig---and they are expensive!
Thank you Pat for that devotional. It is now time for bed. My mouse needed the batteries charged up so I couldn't post.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow. God Bless

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET[/b][/size]
Yeh, I did it! ::) ::)

I came on early this morning to post and lost it....thanks for the devotionals. They were surely needed today.
Ever had a weird day where things made you feel like Alice at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party?
I was getting ready to catch the bus to Victoria this morning and get my 'city fix' , when there was a loud crash from the living room. Squeek knocked over the Canary cage. Now she was squirted with water enough times to know it was off limits. So off course headed under the bed to hide. The bird was okay. He really is a tough old bird!
Went to Victoria and stayed out of trouble there, except that my leg went again, and spent the day limping. The doctor is trying to find out why I am no longer able to do much walking and having constant pain in the darn thing. Got on the bus to come home and told the driver to let me off at ...... before Mill Bay. He said okay. The sun was in my eyes the whole return trip and I could not see...so he went sailing by and took me into the Mall. Phoned my daughter, who was in the garden and didn't get the call. Started the 25 minute walk (uphill) to get back...then things got better. A kindly lady stopped and gave me a ride to the Deer Park entrance. Something neither of us normally would do, me get in a strange car, her give a stranger a ride.
Got home and Wendy was alone and had just got my message. She was alone for dinner, so we went to A & W for burgers. The girl gave her back $8.25 (cost of meal) from a $10.00 bill. We told her about the mistake as not about to eat a free meal...she didn't even bother to thank us. Don't you know??
So hopefully ends a strange day. With luck this post won't disappear into space and Squeek will stay out of trouble.
Pleasant dreams and God Bless.
Liz
I am locking the door for Pat. Her computer is still down. Let's all pray she is able to get it up and running again soon. Although I don't mind helping her out.
