How To Survive Financial Problems

1 Timothy 6:10-11 says...

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Philippians 4:11-13 says...

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Morning Devotional...

When he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
Acts 11:23

Ye also, as lively stones. . . to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:5

A poster on a notice board outside a church building in Leith near Edinburgh caught my eye.

It gave the name of the church and printed underneath it said, "A lively and purposeful congregation."

Can this be said of the assembly where you meet?

Remember that it consists of individual members [stones]. Are there any signs of spiritual life in them?

What are the signs of life in you?

Give of Your Best to the Master (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/giveOfYourBestToTheMaster.mid)
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Howard B. Grose, 1851-1939
Musician:  Charlotte A. Barnard, 1830-1869

Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof,
even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
Numbers 18:29

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Throw your soul's fresh, glowing ardor
Into the battle for truth.
Jesus has set the example,
Dauntless was He, young and brave.
Give Him your loyal devotion;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Clad in salvation's full armor,
Join in the battle for truth.

Give of your best to the Master;
Give Him first place in your heart.
Give Him first place in your service;
Consecrate every part.
Give, and to you will be given;
God His beloved Son gave.
Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Naught else is worthy His love.
He gave Himself for your ransom,
Gave up His glory above.
Laid down His life without murmur,
You from sin's ruin to save.
Give Him your heart's adoration;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Thank you for this wonderful devotional Pat.

I pray all the time that the Lord will make me "content" and to be accepting of the disabilities I have., and to trust in Him.

Sometimes, it is a hard lesson.....for me, anyway.

Thank you Pat for that great music.  It is my desire to "Give my best to the Master".

Thank you to everyone who is praying for my health and hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

Pat, June 24th was Granny Smith's and my brother Doug's birthday.   Two beloved people we both knew and are now in Glory.  Praise God.

Shalom to you Pinkie.

ONE OF MY LOVELY BIBLEVERSES

MATTHEW 6 : 25
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry
about your life, what you will eat or drink;
or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more important than food,
and the body more important than clothes?"

God gives beauty to the flowers and
life to grass.
In the grand scheme of things,
these are transitory and insignificant.
He sent His Son from Heaven to save us.
So, He most definitely is going to give
us what we need until we go Home
to live with Him!

PRAYER...
Loving Father, and
Almighty God, forgive my
distraction over temporal things.
I do believe that you have given
me everything i need in Jesus
and in the gracious abundance
of Your blessings.
In the precious name of Jesus
i pray.  AMEN.

                                      Phil Ware.

Bye Love Ria

GOOD AFTERNOON  it is 12.25PM in Holland (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fchristianphotographers.com%2Fforum%2Fsmi%2Ff_rose.gif&hash=0b5a445619d38c53535a5caa41044cec40548644)

PAT thank you for the devotional this morning and also the nice hymn.

LARRY i wish you and your wife a very nice trip to your great-grandchildren. I hope you have a very nice time with them.

PAT that i am depressed is coming we have not summer but every day rain a lot. Today is it 12*C in Holland. And all the work in home .
But it is really cold in Holland. But in the winter then have i sometimes winter depressions. To many light then i put in the hole room on the lamps and i am put on candles.
But this is not normal such a summer.
Last summer has been very warm too warm that was also not normal for Holland but this. But they say now it shall be on Sunday a little bit better. I am hoping it.
The ponds once i have send you photo's from them and you have put them on CP they are now all flooding
and we can not walk on the grass. The flowers are nothing. And i am a child of the sun.
Sometimes is on the radio i also have that song on a CD  but the CD's are now in the garage so as everything.
That is going so:  Child of the sun, Child of the earth
                              You're just a point in God's universe
And only God knows what will be
He loves you child of the sun, child of
                              the earth.
I am loving this song but it is not a Christian but so nice.
And also that is a reason that i a lot go on my bike but it is not possible the cold no problem but the lot rain and the very big wind that is the problem that i not can go on my bike now and also that i am so loving
But now i go something eat and then work
Also my depressions are going over when the weather will be better and we are seeing everyday in home that it is being very light. And that is awesome. Light is also very important for depressed people. but it is going over i am fighting against that.

Zechariah 4 : 6
Not by might nor by power,
but by my Spirit, says The Lord Almighty.

           ABIDING IN HIS PEACE

Strength is often found within the silence,
While resting in the presence of the Lord.
           Abiding in His peace, we feel His power;
While leaning on His love, we are restored.

Love and prayerfully for you all

A quick hello!

I've set all the clocks in the building forward 30 minutes, and all the other guys have adjusted their watches, too.  We don't know when the boss will catch on. :) :)

Been nice working here....

Good Morning Thank you to Pat and Ria for  posting the devotionals this morning. Wasn't it nice to hear from Pinkie again. What a busy lady she is. Thanks Pinkie for posting last night.

This may not be the place to post this but you all please pray for my Happydog, He has been anxious all night , keeps pacing the floor, panting and drooling. He will drink his water but doesn't want his food. I even tried a doggy treat and he didn't want that. I really don't look forward to leaving him while I go to work.

Today when I get home from work I am going to start this very thorough cleaning that I have planned, in my living, dining room area.

It seems like my little world here is getting smaller since Gilbert and the kids moved to Blue Lake. I go to work, come home, go to church, come home.  Even my conversation seems to be getting to be just those subjects. Work, church, kids and dogs.

Thanks Pat for the June newsletter!  It is a very good one!  It's only the second email I've received since I switched ISPs, so I was glad to get it.  Now I know it's really working.
Nards - I hope yer boss has a good sense of humor.
Marilyn - that doesn't sound good with Happydog.  It sounds like he needs a vet pretty bad.

Hi everyone.  We have another gloomy morning here in Georgia and heavy rains and storms are predicted for all day and evening.  Papa John, it sounds like your area is getting heavy rain already.  Things are becoming very soggy here and just a few days ago I was complaining about it being too dry.  Hope the storms pass by before we have to fly on Sunday.

Pat, that was a fine newsletter and thanks for putting it together and sending it out.

I have a bunch of slides I must scan for my wife as she wants to take them to her sister on a CD.  These were slides made when they were small children.  Think there are about 50 of them.  So I am going to sign off for now and get busy on them.  I have several other projects to get done before we leave on Sunday morning.

Hope everyone has a good day and those that are ill or feeling down will find this a better day than yesterday.

Now we know why Nards is always stressed at work! :P

It is a cloudy (not rainy, yet) day here in WNC.  I was really hoping it would be pretty so I could get little boy outside and let him play.  He has gotten to where he hates being inside all the time.    Maybe we can go see a grandmother or something today.

I hope all of you have a wonderful day today.  It's Friday, you know.  I love the weekends!!

Take care.

Just a quick hello this morning.  We are going to make another quick trip to Hugoton to get the rest of that grass sod.  Thanks for the encouragement, Pat and Ruthie, about its chances for survival!

I had lots of things planned for this morning and that wasn't on the list!  But Darrel cannot load it alone, so .........the other stuff has to wait.  My painting ladies are coming this afternoon, Beth and John are leaving this afternoon.....lots going on around here.

We have cool and cloudy weather here, too, and I hope as soon as we get the sod down, the rain comes again!  ;D

Darrel is saying "Are you ready?" so...........bye!

Nards ~ No wonder your job is stressful!!!!  Sounds like my kind of place to work.  I worked 14 years where it was fun but we still got the job done.  Attendance was high because everyone was afraid they would miss something if they stayed home.

Pat ~ Thanks for the nice newsletter.  You did good!

Janet ~ Yes, that sod is very heavy.  When the sod farmer cut the outline for my edging, it was very heavy.  But when it dried out, it crumbled!  So it needs to be wet.  Don't forget to water it good for about a week.  Then get your mower out!

Well, to continue with my woe of not burning CD's.  Yesterday while I was gone with friends, Jerry read the manual and he didn't find anything amiss.  I got the Nero 6 CD in the mail.  I uninstalled all of the old one and installed Nero 6.  Looks so much easier and it even has the Express feature like Nards said.  BUT everytime I get to the 'burn' part, it does exactly the same as the old Nero.  It ejects the CD and a window says to insert a CD-R.  I push the drawer, click Next and nothing happens.  When I close that window, it tells me that the burning was aborted by user.  NOW Jerry and I are going to WalMart after lunch and purchase some CD-RW.  I have these CD-R's that I don't believe I have ever used before.  What I have had success in burning was different CD's. (with old pc)  Would that be something if these CD-R's are no good!!!  (That would be cheaper than a new CD burner!)

Us four ladies went to a restaurant for lunch yesterday.  One thing I had that was superb was Dill Slaw.  Real coarse cabbage slaw with a dressing and lots of Dill Weed in it plus a very generous portion.  It was great with my Deep Fried Shrimp, Baked Potato and a hunk of Dark Brown Bread.  Then we went to Beef 'n' Boards...a dinner theater.  Betty and Marge have season tickets so once a year they get a two for one deal.  Buy two, get one free.  But we needed 4 tickets so we purchased the 4th ticket and changed tables.  We go see 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' on Sept. 1.  Then we went to a grocery store and purchased ticket to see and hear 'The Symphony on the Prairie' at Conner Prairie south of Noblesville.  www.connerprairie.org  We can go any evening July 1-4.  You take your lawn chairs, a picnic and drinks.  Then listen to the symphony playing and at dark there will be fireworks.  Last year we got rained out some but heard the symphony some and did get to see the fireworks.  They gave raincheck tickets but I didn't use mine.

That's it!!!

Seems like cloudy & cool is happening everywhere.  It is a welcome relief here on the island, after so much heat.  The forests are very dry and terrible fires have already started on the mainland.

Nice devotional, Pat.  Most of my life has been spent with financial and physical problems, so when I learned to depend on God, it changed my whole world.  Not always easy to be content....until one looks around and observes the need and pain happening to others.  I am most grateful to a kind, loving God.

Read something that was upsetting, tho' not too surprising.  There is a new version of the Bible that is being praised by Britain's archbishop of Canterbury.  It is called '
Good as New'  and was written by a former Baptist minister.  Apostate Christianity is alive and well.  The devil must be dancing with joy over this...check it out and you will understand.  Not suitable for here.

Must get ready to go into Duncan.  Banished Squeek to the laundry room as she wouldn't stop yelling to go upstairs.  They were not awake.  What a set of lungs that cat has!!

Marilyn, I did pray for Happydog.  Agree with Al.  Should see a vet if  it continues.  Vets are so expensive.  I sincerely hope that she is better tonight.

God Bless and pleasant day everyone.
Liz

Hi everyone
It is not cloudy and cool everywhere. Here in Chicago it is sunny and warm. Hardly a cloud in the sky.
But I have to go to work in this for I work 2nd shift.  Hopefully this weather will keep up over the week end

The boss actually adjusted his watch to match the "new" time, complained about cheap watches, and went on his merry way.  I let it go till shortly after ten, well, I mean, after 9:30, then fixed them all and we've laughed at him ever since.  It was pretty stinking funny.

I guess the payback will be pretty tough.

I had a lot of even meaner things thought up but didn't get them done.

Scotch tape on the bottom of his mouse was just one.  I actually did that then removed it to make it less obvious that I was messing with him.  Another was a rock under his gas pedal.  I tried to tie his chair to his desk but the fishing line knots wouldn't hold.

If you read my blog from yesterday, there's a few more I had in mind.  He read it even before he got to work, so he was really paranoid to start with, but he fell for the clock thing hook line and sinker.

As my grandchildren used to say, "Grandma, you're 'bootiful'!"  HAHAHA!  I went to the hairdresser early this morning.  Now I'm all set for a busy weekend.  I have a Pot Luck, a BBQ and a 50th Wedding Anniversary and then the Federal Elections on Monday and I'm working at that so will be away from the house for about 14 hours.

Nice to see you posting, Ruthie...  Hurry and get feeling better soon.  Yes, I never go past June 24th without thinking of Granny and your dear brother, Doug.  And now tomorrow is the day we always celebrated Mum's birthday but then near the end of her life, we found that her birthday was really June 25 but it doesn't feel right to celebrate it on the 25th.  Tomorrow is my eldest grandson's birthday.  He'll be 16.

Judy McK, yes, it's is a hard lesson....especially for you but then I think of Joni Ericksen.  Not sure if that would help you or not.  I do know that you have a very difficult time for sure, my friend.

Yes, it's so good to see Pinkie aka Nancy back posting.  We've sure missed her.  Hopefully, we'll see some of her great photography soon.

Hi Ria...   I so love to see your nice colourful posts pop up when I come to New Every Morning.  I sure miss you when you don't post.  I enjoy so much your little devotional and the little poems you seem to be able to post just at the right time.  Thanks so much for this ministry of yours.

I'd like to repeat that little prayer, Ria.  It's just so true for many of us...

QuotePRAYER...
Loving Father, and Almighty God, forgive my distraction over temporal things.

I do believe that you have given me everything i need in Jesus and in the gracious abundance
of Your blessings.

In the precious name of Jesus i pray.  AMEN.

Now, why did you do that, Nards?  I don't understand.  Were you trying to have a longer weekend?  LOL

I'm sorry that your little doggie is not too good, Marilyn.  Keep us posted.  And thanks so much for contacting Pinkie.  If all of us would take on a couple of our past members and drop them a little note, maybe most of them would come back and post.  I sure know what you mean about our little worlds.  Sure is lonely sometimes.

Thanks for the thanks, Al Moak!  So glad you enjoyed the June Newsletter.  Of course after I sent it I realized that I hadn't changed the Subject line so it has only "Subject" on it.  LOL  But hope no one minded.  I'm still sort of new at this.  Hope it brings some of our folks back.   Glad your email address is working.

Larry, what scanner do you have that you scan slides?  Are you really happy with the quality?  Sometimes I am and then sometimes I'm not with mine and my scanner wasn't inexpensive!  :o  How long do you think you'll be away?

Hi Karma!  Hope you are keeping well.  Do you have a problem with nausea at this time of the pregnancy?  I sure did.

Janet, I'm sure that your grass will be just great.  You'll have to take a photo of it!  LOL  Good it's raining for the fresh sod.

I love your little animations, Etta Sue.  Where in the world are you getting such cute little ones?  I'd love to know.

Liz, thanks for letting us know about this so-called new Bible.  What a terrible thing.  I'm going to see what I can find out about it further.  How's your web page doing?  I must take a look.

Hi Tom...  I'm so happy to see you here in New Every Morning.  Do you live right in the city of Chicago?  What kind of work do you do?  I couldn't sleep last night and got up for a cup of herb tea and thought I'd have a peek at the site and saw you online.  Maybe we'll see you online tonight late.  I've been enjoying your photos.

NARDS!  You're bad!!!!

Thanks everyone for commenting on the Newsletter.  Glad it was enjoyed by several.  Hopefully, this will be a little thing we can do once a month.  I've had two people request that their names be removed and their membership deleted so I've done that.    So if you've noticed that the total of our members has gone down, that's why.

I just lost a big long post...I'll be back later.

Maybe it fell in a posthole.

Do you have a posthole digger?

Of course, since it was a long post, some of it should be protruding from the posthole, since most postholes diggers are not long enough to make a posthole long enough to lose an entire long post.  They will, however, completely hide a short post from view...

Oh, boy.

Why did I do what, Pat, change the clocks?  Ummmmm, practical joke...  Imagine coming to work and finding out you were 30 minutes late because your watch quit.  Every clock in the building, computers included, indicate that your watch is 30 minutes slow.  Your watch is known to be slow, so you are not surprised.  Everything in the building is happening as though it is 30 minutes later than your watch indicates, including your employees taking their morning break.  So you change your watch to match the clock, even though it doesn't feel that late.

THEN it is revealed that every person you work with has been in on a huge hoax to make you think your watch was 30 minutes slow, and they are ALL laughing at you because you were fooled...

Aaaaaaah, my work is done.... :) :)

<waiting for Sonja to get back from looking for her posthole diggers to see if they are long enough to dig a hole deep enough to bury a long post>

So sorry, guys, maybe I'll get back to being dull and boring by Monday.

I dread the weekend.  It's terrible trying to be funny when nobody else thinks you are.

Troy, Chandraya, Lila Mae and I went herping for turtles at the fishing lake Wednesday. We found one but when we picked it up we noticed that part of his mouth was missing and his shell was broken.  We felt so bad and let him go.  We moved on to another area and seen a few more turtles but didn't catch any.  We did catch a leapard frog.  He is cute.  The boys now have him in a tank in their room.

On our way back to the truck, Chandraya stopped at the place where we found that turtle that had no mouth and she squated down and said a little pray.  We stopped and got teary eyed and watched and Lila Mae went and sat next to her and decided to say a pray. It was so precious to see both my little girls talking to God.

Worship: Nonliturgical Worship

Give to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering, and come
into His courts. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
--Psalm 96:8-9

We of the nonliturgical churches tend to look with some disdain upon
those churches that follow a carefully prescribed form of service,
and certainly there must be a good deal in such services that has
little or no meaning for the average participant--this not because it
is carefully prescribed but because the average participant is what
he is. But I have observed that our familiar impromptu service,
planned by the leader twenty minutes before, often tends to follow a
ragged and tired order almost as standardized as the Mass. The
liturgical service is at least beautiful; ours is often ugly. Theirs
has been carefully worked out through the centuries to capture as
much of beauty as possible and to preserve a spirit of reverence
among the worshipers. Ours is often an off-the-cuff makeshift with
nothing to recommend it. Its so-called liberty is often not liberty
at all but sheer slovenliness....

..mostly there is neither order nor Spirit, just a routine prayer
that is, except for minor variations, the same week after week, and a
few songs that were never much to start with and have long ago lost
all significance by meaningless repetition.

In the majority of our meetings there is scarcely a trace of reverent
thought, no recognition of the unity of the body, little sense of the
divine Presence, no moment of stillness, no solemnity, no wonder, no
holy fear.  God Tells the Man Who Cares, 4-5.

"Lord, thank You for those worship leaders today who really are
working to restore a sense of genuine worship in our nonliturgical
churches. Just yesterday I was moved in the church I visited by the
time of prayer at the altar in the middle of the service. May we
capture that more and more. Amen."

Actually, Judy, it was Sonja that lost the post :)

We may not be on here much for a couple of days until the weather dries up.  Karma tells me that the internet connection is not working again.

So y'all have a great weekend!

Our phone line was not working this day and the lady who fixed it outside said we had either a lightning strike or surge but she did fix it pronto.

Larry:  Perhaps you are on you way - winging it out to Denver.  Enjoy!

I have been lifting books all day and those boxes are very heavy - this is an on-going thing to stack and purge donated books for a once-a-year sale in the springtime.  Whew!

Pat:  Thank you for the June newsletter and reminding me of the different areas in CP - places I have not searched.

I believe Larry said he will be leaving early Sunday morning.  I, too, wish you and Pat a wonderful trip, Larry.

I am tired and hurting, think I will be lying down soon.  And I really hope that sod grass does live and flourish.   Etta Sue, I have a question for you about sod.  Since they remove a couple inches of topsoil every time they cut sod, do they replace that dirt before planting the next crop?  Darrel and I were wondering about that as we were laying that sod.

That is really terrible that a mere man would take it upon himself to change the Word of God.  I would not like to be in his place on judgement day!

I am thinking of Curtis and how hard he has been working today.  I expect next time I see him he will have hard muscles and a few less pounds.  I'm praying for him.

I'm so tired I'm not thinking clearly, so will sign off and see you tomorrow.

Nards, you are onery!  Bet the people at work love you!

Hello,

Just popping in for a quick "Hello" to everyone, especially to all the new people on the site.

It's a very busy time of the year for me, because the Adult Education programs work on a yearly schedule that starts July 1st and ends June 30th each year.  Lot of database work at this time.

It's been raining here on and off, we've had a couple strong downpours, which is very welcome, as there are quite a few forest fires already now in BC.  There are none close to where we live.  We've also had some hail.

On a personal note, I was told yesterday that a little growth on my nose is skin cancer.  It will be removed next Friday.  Thank God it is the most common form of skin cancer, basal cell something or another, and it doesn't spread so it's not really dangerous.

OK, I'm sick of looking at the computer for today, so I'll say good bye.  Take care all,

Ursula

The quote in this article (about the "regular partners") would be downright funny if it weren't so sad.  It's weird how people need to validate their perverse views, even at the cost of changing the truth.  I guess that's how the devil works.

Happy has been to the Vet. He had a slight temp. and She (the vet) said that he seems to have a slight injusy to his back like a sprain. Probly form playing to hard with bebe, (She's limping again) She gave him Rimadyl for the pain and Robaxin  as a muscle relaxer. Since I had to tranquilize him to get him in the car ( just as a precaution) I wont give him tat pill until later, I did give him a pain pill about 1/2 hour ago and now he has settled down. I think I could have done with out the pill before I took him in,He did real good in the car.

In the meantime I have shampooed the carpet like I said  would and have a rug laying her next to my desk where Happy is sound asleep. It's about time he had been up since 3 am.

Pat thank you the the newsletter. I am sorry to hear that a couple  have deleted their membership.

Hi everyone.

I have had a busy day working on the computer.  I did get the slides scanned and they turned out pretty good.  Some of the slides were not very good to start with and was able to use some software to improve them a little.  Pat my scanner is an Epson 1670 and will handle two slides at a time.  We will be gone for about two weeks.

I was just finishing up the scanning when Pat called from Aldi, a grocery store that accepts on cash or a debit card.  She had tried to check out with her debit card and it had been refused.  So I drove to the store and they rescanned the groceries and that time her card worked perfectly.  Needless to say she wasn't very happy but I feel the computer must have been unavailable when they first tried it.

We were suppose to have a lot of rain today but most of it has missed us so far, just an occasional short shower.

Liz, I certainly won't be buying that new version of the Bible.  However, it sure fits in with what is going on in our society.

Ursula, it is a good thing they are dealing with the skin cancer at an early stage.  I think that type is quite common as have many friends who have had skin cancers removed.  It sounds like you are very busy.

Janet, dealing with sod is a tough job.  I bet you will have some very sore muscles by morning but you should sleep well tonight.  You mentioned that Beth and John were leaving.  If it is being too noisy, where are they going?

Carol, as Janet said we won't be leaving until Sunday morning.  I remember your working with the book sales from previous years.

Sonja, sorry you lost the post.  I have started doing a quick select all and copying of any message to the clipboard where I have spent several minutes writing.  If the message doesn't post I can just start again and paste into a new message box.

Welcom Bobbi to CP.

Nards and Karma, sorry to hear about the bad telephone line to your home.  Nards, you must have a very understanding boss.  ;D

Marilyn, hope your dog is better this evening.  Know you were very upset.

Guess I had better sign off for tonight.

Back home again and glad that Happydog is going to be okay.  Squeek and I had a nap and she is still sleeping....in MY chair!

Thanks for the newsletter, Pat.  I really  enjoyed it.  Have not done much to my site and hope to add some things this weekend.  It's taken me some time to figure out what things are about and how to do them...

Pleasant dreams all and God Bless.

Good evening dear sisters and brothers in Christ!  It's been three days since I've been here and I've missed it.   :'(  But at work all week, full time to cover for vacation, it's been very computer-intensive and by the time I got home I didn't want to even think computer.   ::)

Today was only 1/2 day and this afternoon we went to my daughter's farmhouse, 25 miles away, and got our "grandma/grandpa fixes". My son-in-law is in the Navy and stationed in North Carolina, at least for now, so they only come up to this area for a couple of months in the summer.   Amazing how much a 9 year old boy and 13 year old girl can grow and change in a year.  But their faces still light up when they see us!
