Morning Devotional

John 17:20-23  "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."

Our Lord prayed that Christians might be one in a way similar to the way in which Father and Son are one.  It's what we sometimes call an "organic unity" - a unity of person and substance - an inescapable, already-established unity that can't be broken.

So, brothers and sisters, we ARE one, even if it looks like we're in a million denominational pieces!  We are because He made us so.  We are indwelt by one Spirit and joined to one Savior and Lord.  Our Lord had a purpose in mind in that unity - "that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."  Are we fulfilling His purpose?  If so, then we are showing His love to one another.  If we are, then together we are showing His love to the lost. Let's fulfill His wonderful purpose!

Al Moak

BIND US TOGETHER, LORD[/b]

Bind us together, Lord
bind us together,
with cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord,
bind us together,
bind us together with love.

There is only one God,
there is only one King
there is only one Body
xthat is why we sing:
Bind us together, Lord ...

Made for the glory of God,
purchased by his precious Son,
born with the right to be clean,
for Jesus the victory has won.
Bind us together, Lord ...

You are the family of God,
you are the promise divine,
you are God's chosen desire,
you are the glorious new wine.
Bind us together, Lord ...

My, everyone must be sleeping in today.  I went to bed early or I would be one of you.

I have a load of clothes on the line.  When I get offline, I am calling our class President.  If he is in his office, then I will take my updated name, address, phone number list and compare to his.

Then tonight I am going to Greenfield to an Audio/Visual Meeting at church.  It is really exciting helping in all that can and is being done to have our services enjoyable for our brothers and sisters.

Then tomorrow Ivalou has to be in Indy at 7 something in the morning for Lazer surgery on at least one eye.  She wants me to go with her.  This surgery center sends a car to pick you up and bring you back home.  How neat is that?

Inner Peace

Moment by moment, I center myself in the presence of infinite peace.

There is a limitless reservoir of peace within my soul. This peace reflects the infinite serenity of God's presence that supports me at all times--even during those times and incidents where there appears to be discord.

Yet there may be times when an outer circumstance or inner worry seems to prevent me from feeling peaceful. Then I affirm from the foundation of my being: I am serene, calm, and peaceful.

In affirming this truth about me, I silence any voice of doubt that may arise from within me or from another person. Centered in the presence of God, I see beyond the immediate situation to the infinite serenity of God's peace. At peace with myself and my world, I am serene and calm.

"How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who
announces peace."

The houses behind me were burned to the ground yesterday I have somephotos to resize and post later.

For now I must cleanse my mind of all the lies of the devil and seek that peace that passes all understanding, through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. So I will return later.

Great devotional, Al.  Very much along the lines of what God has been hitting me pretty hard with in the past three days.  Our poor little church is having a tremendously difficult time with this.  Thanks :)

Hello to all of you!  Marilyn, it's terrible to hear about those houses.  I hope no one was hurt.

I hope everyone has a great day.  I'm feeling a little rough but it seems to be improving.  Gotta get some work done now...
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee and seem to have no energy to want to do much of anything.  Fortunately I don't have anything I have to do today.  I was going to the grocery store but my wife gave me a definite order that I was not to do so as I was so tired yesterday.  Sort of glad she told me not to go as really don't have much energy today.

I just heard that the Supreme Court has ruled that the Ten Commandments can't be displayed in public building like court houses.

Personally, I think that's one order of the Supreme Court that ought to be disobeyed.  May we first offer prayer for the members of the court, prayers that they will desist from such anti-constitutional rulings, that they will be converted, and that our fellow citizens would agree with and join this cause.  Then, after offering petitions, correspondence with our lawmakers, etc., may we disobey this order by reposting plaques, etc. containing those Commandments.  May we then rise up, if necessary, with arms against those who thus oppose the intent and purpose of the Bill of Rights and consititution.  Amen.

Marilyn

I have posted the the final photos of the destruction of those houses

HERE

If I am still here when the building begins I will post photos of  that too, however I hope to be gone before that happens.

Thanks, Carol.  I am taking Beth to the doctor in about 30 minutes.  I hope he can tell us something.  She is really going downhill again.  :'(

Larry, I am feeling very tired myself today, not like me at all.  So maybe I need to rest a bit today.  I have been on the go constantly for weeks, and not sleeping well at all, my body is probably just tired.

One of the ladies I posted a photo of when the red hats visited the care home passed away, and her service is tomorrow.  I need to find out the time.  She was a lovely lady.  In fact this makes three of them who are no longer with us in that short time.  Life is indeed fleeting, isn't it?

Marilyn, I am out of time just now, but will check out your photos later.

Hi, Nards!  ;D  Good to see you today!

Yes, nards, good to see you!!!!!  (and even better to "see" you!)  That made sense to me, even if it didn't anyone else.

Well, another day is nearly shot.  Took Beth to the Dr. and he is very concerned.  She has lost all reflexes in her left ankle, and most of her strength in both legs and feet.  In fact, she wasn't able to even make it from the car into the building on her walker; I finally gave up and got their wheelchair to take her the rest of the way.  He says she needs more therapy and he wants her to see Dr. Cone again (her neurosurgeon.)  So he called Dr. Cone, and they have had a cancellation at 1:30 tomorrow, so it's off to Amarillo again................. :'(  I don't think Abby will enjoy the trip.

I have a headache and am just really, really tired today.  I hope I can sleep tonight!

As for me, he said 40 mg Zocor per day.  :P  I do not like that.

Good day every one.  The hymn this morning reminded me of one we used to sing every Lord's Supper.

Blessed be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.

We had an amazing day at church yesterday.  We had a celebration. and many friends from near and afar celebrating with us.  One of the singers in the congregation sang a favourite of mine, and had many in tears.  It was a Selah song called "Press On"

Today was again a busy day at work, preparing for inventory.  Wow, we never knew there was so much in the store.

Well have to run, the girls want to go swimming, so we are off to see Wolf Lake.  Bye for now

Judy

Be sure and cancel your credit cards before you die. This is so priceless, and so easy to see happening, customer service being what it is today.

A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and then added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00, now is somewhere around $60.00. A family member placed a call to Citibank:

Family Member: "I am calling to tell you that she died in January."

Citibank: "The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply."

Family Member: "Maybe, you should turn it over to collections."

Citibank: "Since it is two months past due, it already has been."

Family Member: So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?"

Citibank: "Either report her account to the frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!"

Family Member: "Do you think God will be mad at her?"

Citibank: "Excuse me?"

Family Member: "Did you just get what I was telling you - the part about her being dead?"

Citibank: "Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor."

Supervisor gets on the phone:

Family Member: "I'm calling to tell you, she died in January."

Citibank: "The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply."

Family Member: "You mean you want to collect from her estate?"

Citibank: (Stammer) "Are you her lawyer?"

Family Member: "No, I'm her great nephew." (Lawyer info given)

Citibank: "Could you fax us a certificate of death?"

Family Member: "Sure." (fax number is given)

After they get the fax:

Citibank: "Our system just isn't set-up for death. I don't know what more I can do to help."

Family Member: "Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. I don't think she will care."

Citibank: "Well, the late fees and charges do still apply."

Family Member: "Would you like her new billing address?"

Citibank: "That might help."

Family Member: "Odessa Memorial Cemetery, Highway 129, Plot Number 69."

Citibank: "Sir, that's a cemetery!"

Family Member: "What do you do with dead people on your planet?

Etta Sue, that REALLY is wonderful that they'd send a car and bring you back home.  So you won't have to drive in the busy city traffic.  I'll be thinking of her.  You tell her that.  I really enjoyed my time with her out in Calgary.

Al, thanks for that devotional today.  It is a difficult subject to some and it was just at the right time for me today.

Hi Nards...  It's so good to see you here.  I hope you won't be a stranger.

Larry, I'm so very sorry that you're feeling this way.  I know how it must be for Pat too to see you this way and I know how I felt when I saw Jack this way.  I remember many times I said, "Just go and lie down, Jack" and he was so thankful.  I do believe that sometimes, he felt so guilty that maybe I was doing some housework and he had no energy to help but wanted to.  I tried to assure him that I truly didn't mind.  Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

As far as I know we will only be gone tomorrow, Pat.  At least I hope so, because Abby is staying here with Pat.  She will be much happier there than cooped up in the car all day long.

I also missed Mieka........... :'(  I've been thinking about her a lot.  I wonder where she is.  Do you know, Pat?  Mieka left me such a sweet message.

Hi, from sunny Coos Bay.

JudyB......I simply love Selah.  That song is wonderful.  I have one of their albums. The harmony just about takes my breath away.  They are my favorite group today.

Marilyn, keep holding on to your peace.  And go through every door God opens and follow up on every circumstance.  Of course, you know this. :)  Your new place is out there.

Larry, keep listening to your dear Pat. :)  Giving your body plenty of rest when you need it is the thing to do.  God bless you, brother.    From reading your posts, seeing your life, and seeing how you respond to others here.....I know you have to be one of the special men. :) One of the nicest people I know.

Janet, I'm so sorry that Beth is worse.  Sorry you had to go on the cholesterol med too.  I know you didn't want to do that.  I will be praying for Beth.  Let us know how she is. :(

My sisters (two of them anyway)are coming to see me this weekend.  I'm excited.  Maybe we can do some singing.  We like that.

Hi, Pat. :)
