There is nothing little in God.
~C. H. Spurgeon~

What The Holy Spirit Is To You

Galatians 5:22-25 says...

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:9-14 says...

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Morning Devotional...

The Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1 Peter 1:23

Miraculously preserved and beautifully displayed in the British Museum in London are many ancient manuscripts of the Scriptures.

The Codex Sinaiticus, 4th Century, is carefully written on a hundred antelope skins. This great treasure was rescued from destruction in the nick of time.

The Codex Alexandrinus, of the 5th Century, was also dramatically saved from fire, and is portrayed on hundreds of goatskin pages.

God has miraculously preserved His precious Word.

Do we treasure the Bible as we ought?
--E. MacLelland

The powers of earth and hell in vain
Against the sacred Word combine;
Thy providence through every age
Securely guards the work divine.

THE BIBLE STANDS (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/biblestn.mid)
(Click title for music)

The Bible stands like a rock undaunted
'Mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal,
And they glow with a light sublime.

Refrain

The Bible stands though the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands.

The Bible stands like a mountain towering
Far above the works of men;
Its truth by none ever was refuted,
And destroy it they never can.

Refrain

The Bible stands and it will forever,
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given,
All its precepts I will obey.

Refrain

The Bible stands every test we give it,
For its Author is divine;
By grace alone I expect to live it,
And to prove and to make it mine.

Refrain

Then a cloud came over them. and a voice from the

Listen to Him.

God is very clear to the amazed followers of Jesus.
As important as Elijah and Moses are to the Jewish

They should listen to Jesus.
Jesus is the supreme teacher.
Jesus is the supreme prophet.

Good Morning Everyone...

Just a very quick message to say that I hope you all have a wonderful day.  I'll be away all day.  I'm going to the African Lion Safari today with Rebecca (the little girl up in the top banner on this site).  She doesn't know yet either!  It's a big surprise to her that she's going away for the day with Grandma!

Then I'm going out to dinner with some friends so I won't be back in here till really late tonight.

Post, post and post again folks!

I see "Smokeyging" online.  I hope that you have a great day, Les!  Come in here and get to know the folks!

Hi, Genesis points us to this phrase in the story of Abraham's other son - Ishmael.

I'm due in to work early for a conference call that also includes someone in London.

After that will be traveling to Georgia to take Leslie to the doctor and see my favorite little person, Georgia Faith. It's been since Mothers Day since I was there, so hope she remembers me.

Y'all have a great weekend.

Ruth Ann

Hi Les!

You didn't chase everyone away!  LOL  Many haven't arrived yet as it's still very early in the USA and Canada.

This isn't like the Chatbox on Photo-Sense.  People will come all during the day (while you're sleeping) and leave messages for you.  I'm just so happy to see that you posted so check in here when you get up.

Talk to you later!

QuoteBy Larry~Sonja, it sounds like you are doing a lot of rehearsal.  This must be quite a show that is being put together with your dance group.  You would have enjoyed seeing these senior ladies dancing today.

Larry, I sure would have enjoyed the song and dance those ladies put on.

Janet, sorry about Beth.  I will be thinking about her today.

Have fun, Pat!

I better get busy.  Lots to do today.

Hi everyone.  Welcome Cherrel to CP.  Les, good to see you posting and I assure you that you haven't driven anyone away.  I think a lot of our folks are very busy and haven't taken the time to come here and post.

Just back from an early morning walk and then we had our Friday morning coffee at the local senior center.  One of the men had brought a VHS tape from the History Channel that documented the 3rd Division of the 1st Army during World War II.  A couple of our men are veterans from the 3rd Division and one of these men served during the time covered by most of this film.  What terrible experiences our soldiers had as well as the citizens of Europe to have the troops invade their lands and basically destroy so much.

I was helping with the VHS tape and when it was over we were not able to retrieve the tape from the player.  We left the problem in the hands of the city administrator.  Do hope the tape hasn't been ruined.

Pat, hope you have a wonderful day with your granddaughter and enjoy the Lions and other animals you will see today.  Sure you will be making good use of your camera.

Ruth Ann, I doubt that the granddaughter will have forgotten you but you will probably notice that the baby has grown a bit.  Hope you have a good trip.

Carol, it sounds like you will be kept very busy for the next week and will be creating a lot of memories.  I am sure the energy level is up at your house.

Janet, glad you are back from your trip with Beth for the test.  Sure sorry to read that Beth continues to find walking more difficult.  Just moving about must be a real struggle for her.

Jeanne, if you had uploaded your files from Front Page they shouldn't have disappeared unless they had to restore the server from an earlier backup.

Hope everyone has a great day today.  Pat and I plan to go out to eat with friends this evening but otherwise will have a quiet day as far as I know.  The contractor should finish his work today.

Come, Thou Almighty King  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/come-thou-almighty-king.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters, and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: 'Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.'" Revelation 19:6

Words: Some sources show the author as "anonymous." Others credit Charles Wesley, 1757

Music: "Italian Hymn," Felice de Giardini, in The Collection of Psalm and Hymn Tunes Sung at the Chapel of the Lock Hospital, 1769

Come, Thou almighty King,
Help us Thy Name to sing, help us to praise!
Father all glorious, over all victorious,
Come and reign over us, Ancient of Days!

Jesus, our Lord, arise,
Scatter our enemies, and make them fall;
Let Thine almighty aid our sure defense be made,
Souls on Thee be stayed; Lord, hear our call.

Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword, our prayer attend!
Come, and Thy people bless, and give Thy Word success,
Spirit of holiness, on us descend!

Come, holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear in this glad hour.
Thou Who almighty art, now rule in every heart,
And ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power!

To Thee, great One in Three,
Eternal praises be, hence, evermore.
Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see,
And to eternity love and adore!

Good Morning. It has been foggy and misty all day since yesterday morning the same for today. Yesterday themist was so heavy that I had to use the wipers as I drove to Eureka.

Bea's hours have been cut to 7 hours per week. I have 18 hours per week with Fay I could use at least 10 more hours per week. So I may be taking on another job  to increase my income some.

I can get by on what I will be earning, but I would like to earn a little bit more so I can buy my own groceries and not have to depend the various food programs for groceries.  It always worries me that I might have to depend on someone else to feed me. I guess that doesn't say much for me trusting God.

I seem to be just rambling on here expressing my own inner thoughts and the Holy Spirit is convicting me  of the sin of worry and the sin of not trusting in my Father.

Les, good to see you posting this day!  We are all on different schedules, so whenever we have the time, we come here to post and visit with each other---not instantly, but sort of on "time delay."  Tell us more about yourself and your country, please.

Welcome to CP, Cherrell!  Come and post and let us know your interests.  We'd love to get to know you.

I was tired this morning and pretty sluggish while I was swimming.  So I didn't quite make my half mile.  But at least I went! :)

I hope my frames arrive today, it is a large order and I am limited on time to get them all assembled, because my painting class starts on Monday.

Pat, I hope you and Rebecca have a wonderful time together today.  I know how much I love spending time with Abby, and she loves it, too.  "Shoot" some of those lions for us, we want to see them!

Soni, hope your dance recital is a real blast, and everyone feels good about their performance.

Larry, I hope they can save that tape!  The owner will be disappointed if it is ruined, but hopefully it can be replaced.

I need to take some breakfast over to Beth, and see if she is able to get around today.  Thank you all for the kind words and prayers in her behalf.  They are appreciated.

Now to work!!

Hey, gang, just checking in for a minute before lunch.  I don't know if I'm eating with the usual Friday crew or not, but I wanted to say hi.

Good to see all of you here.  It's somewhat dreary here in Western North Carolina today, but it's not a bad day.

God bless all of you!

Nard

ps. I'm going to try to get a new pic of myself up before long.  This one doesn't work out too well :-)

Nards, you are our "mystery man" in that photo!

Boy, where is everyone?  I'm just stopping by again while another corner gets set up.  I'm glad the glue dries fast!  (I'm talking about picture frames, by the way.)  ;D

I got my paints mixed and my palette all set up, so now I need to get my drawing on the canvas, gather up the rest of the things I will be needing and I'm ready for class!  Yea!

See you good folks later!

Hi everyone!

I ran another "marathon" at work today.  I lost again.   ::) It seems that no matter how hard or fast I work I just cannot get get in a day what is required. And I have two weeks vacation starting in a week's time.  I am looking forward to the vacation but am dreading the return to work.  I know I need to be thankful that I have a job to go to but there is so much to do that I don't know where to start and I am finding it very difficult to be thankful.

A nice sunny day, and I think maybe I will go out for a bit and enjoy the last of the nice day.

Have a great night all

Well, I looked it up and prepared my answer and then read Ruth Ann's answer.  I should have come in earlier.
Gen 16:15-16
15   So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
16   Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
(NIV)

Gen 21:21
21   While he was living in the Desert of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from Egypt.  (NIV)

Marilyn, I hope you get the extra hours you need or that you can find some other job where you can earn adequate for your needs.  Seems like the cost of living keeps going up faster than income goes up.

I hope you all have a good  evening and a nice sleep tonight.

Since we were talking the other day about hearing problems, I got a laugh out of this.  Hope you do, as well.

To Hear or Not To Hear
Seems an elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%.

The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased you can hear again."

To which the gentleman said, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will five times!"

Well Gene decided to watch some Sci-Fi - not my cup of tea so I came back to the computer.

I think I've solved the problem with FrontPage.  Every time I hit "save" it deletes everything from the html (but not from the "normal" or "preview" - go figure).  So when I uploaded the revised version I uploaded a blank page. :-\  In order to keep the pictures and formatting I have to use "save as" and tell it to overwrite the previous version.  Means a couple extra clicks, but that's better than doing everything over.  And over.  And over.   ::)

New Zealand.  we are at the bottom of the world, two islands on the right side of Australia. we live in the south island and at the moment it is winter here, when we have summer, you have winter, when you have days, we are into nights. we are also one of the first countrys to see the sun every day. if you follow the international date-line down the globe of the world, on the left towards the bottom of the globe you should see two islands, we are in the south island, three quarters down the south island on the east coast there is a bit of a bump in the island, that should be Dunedin, thats our 'hide-out'. regards les
