Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

"What peace can they have
who are not at peace with God?"
~Matthew Henry~

Morning Devotional...

I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23:6

What a beautiful ray of sunshine to brighten up life's darkest days.

Here is the hope that cheers the believer during the toughest times.

Child of God, today you may be in "the valley of the shadow of death" (v. 4). It is not that you fear death, but you are anxious how the crossing to the other side will be—leaving all that earth holds dear yet knowing the certainty of being with the Lord.

It's going to be far better than we can ever imagine! Think again of being with Him and sharing His eternal heaven!

O what a prospect!
—Jim Paul

The love that led me all the golden day,
Nor left me when my feet had gone astray,
Will hold me still at dying of the day,
And bring me home.
Unknown

WE'RE GOING HOME TOMORROW
(Click to hear music)

Willing rather to be absent from the body,
and to be present with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8

Words: Mrs. E. W. Griswold
Music: Philip P. Bliss (1838-1876)

We're going home, no more to roam,
No more to sin and sorrow;
No more to wear the brow of care,
We're going home tomorrow.

Refrain
We're going home, we're going home tomorrow,
We're going home, we're going home tomorrow.

For weary feet awaits a street
Of wondrous pave and golden;
For hearts that ache, the angels wake
The story, sweet and olden.

Refrain

For those who sleep, and those who weep,
Above the portals narrow,
The mansions rise beyond the skies—
We're going home tomorrow.

Refrain

Oh, joyful song! Oh, ransomed throng!
Where sin no more shall sever;
Our King to see, and, oh, to be
With Him at home forever!

Refrain

Wonderful webcam from Botswana, Africa.  It's live.  I've had it on for several hours and the birds land on the mic and fly by and sing.  Amazing.

I even got a couple of photos just now of this...

woah too cool :) Thanks for sharing that

That is so neat, Pat!   ;D  Thanks.

I wonder if you could post "Til The Storm Passes By" ... I am trying to teach it to some friends.   :)  I used to sing alto to it with a friend while in Oklahoma ... I have a problem remembering the melody.   :-\
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Anthony

It was good to be able to dwell upon Psalm 23 this morning.  What a great way to start the day.  It was a good thought too that it is God's love who is keeping us through each day and will continue to keep us until the end.

I loved the webcam pictures, as someone else said - that's cool.

I trust everyone will have a good day today.  We used to sing that 'everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.' If we are truly 'with' Jesus, we will be sure to have a great day.

God bless all.

Anthony.

Janet

Good morning!  I agree, the other side is so much better than here on earth; but it is natural to fear the unknown.  We just don't know, and no one can tell us, how the crossing over from this side to the shores of Heaven will be.  But God has His children safely in His hand, so we need have no fear.

I am going to check out that webcam as soon as I finish this post!  Way cool!!  :)

Hi, Anthony!  Is the flu bug all gone now?

I want to get a lot done today:  hem and hang Beth's curtains, get a painting done, maybe some framing for Mark.  We will see how the day goes!  Abby is invited to a birthday party this afternoon.

I'm off to see the webcam.

Janet I checked out the webcam and I didn't see anything like that there.

Good Morning Great devotional Pat.

Hi Jane, Janet and Anthony. I was here a little while ago but did not post anything at that time. I have been reading here and on SN and my email.

Nothing new here yet Still dark out side so I can't tell you what the weather looks like yet.

The dogs heard something (a cat) outside about 4:30 and wanted out, came back in about 5:15 then wanted out again. So I just got up and turned on the heater to warm the house. Spent time with the Lord and now here I am.

See you  Later

Thanks for the neat site.  I don't think I'll ever be up in time for prime time viewing though.

Busy day today.  My 16 yr old grandson is coming over to learn about taking apart a 1971 Chevelle interior.  He seems to have an interest in cars, so I asked his help.  Actually, the help I need is getting the seat out of the car.  Once he learns how to do that, put in carpet, door panels, etc he will be able to tackle his own car someday without fear of the unknown.

Not much going on in Indiana other than I was in this seat almost all day and evening yesterday.  But I can say that all the pictures I had on floppy and in the computer are now on CD's.  Now I can start over knowing that all the pictures that I put on my desktop will be from the new camera.  I love my camera.

I made little movies of all the pictures I had of Tony and his family and gave Charlene the CD for her birthday...along with money.  Well, their computer had a major virus that took her son...the one that made my computer...two days to get access to Windows.  They lost all their photos!!!!  So she is thankful for the CD I made.

Did you go check out the new ones I put up in the Gallery?  I haven't checked to see if any of you commented or not.

Inky keeps rubbing my legs.  Do you think it might be because the food bowl is empty?  She doesn't need food.  If she were orange, she would look like a pumpkin!!     But I love her.   <3

Enjoyed all the posts and the funnies today!  Love the Cam!!  But it is night in Africa now.

Good morning all.  It's still morning till noon; right?

I'm getting ready to run some errands for Rene.  We need some boxes for shipping some things back to Phoenix so they will be there when she arrives.
Someone created three wonderful memorial boards of pictures of Jim's life.  There are such neat pictures of she and he and their life together.
They scanned pictures and imprinted them on the styro board....copied I guess.....and they are so neat.  I've seen pictures clipped to a boards for memorials, but never like this.  Anyway, I'm getting them ready to ship back so they'll be there when she goes home next week.  These are treasures, so they'll need lots of bubble wrap and sturdy shipping container.  I'm going to U-Haul today.  UPS didn't have what she wanted.

I have this deep ache in me......for her.  As some know, her pain is mostly too deep for tears right now.  And for some reason, it seems that
nothing has gone smoothly.  You'd think at a time like this, the very least life could hand her would be that funerals and all that goes with that ($almost 10,000!!)would go smoothly.  It makes me angry at what they charge.....and her vulnerability.  I won't go into that more, but I'm having to pray and repent a lot!

So many neat photos in the gallery.  I've commented on some, and will come back later to look some more.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Pat

Janet, there's absolutely nothing to pay.  You must have clicked on subscribing to National Geographic.  The webcam is right on that page but you need Real Audio to see it and that's free too.

Hi everyone.  We are having a beautiful but cool day here in Georgia.  Pat has some of the windows open but doubt that will be the case tomorrow.  The wind has come up, which we usually don't have, and a cold front is moving through.

Marilyn, of  course I was teasing you as Janet said.  Something about that whole visual image of storing your valuables outside just tickled my funny bone and I had to comment.

Nita, I agree you that the cost of a funeral is exorbinent.  Most of the funeral homes are being bought up by the big chains and the prices keep going up.  They also catch us at our most vulnerable moments.

Etta Sue, certainly a good thing to save your photos onto CDs.  I have done that and actually burned two or three copies of the CDs.  I find it hard to keep up with photos.

Ed, it is nice that you are taking the time to show your grandson how to do that work on the car.  I sure it will be memorable time for your grandson and probably for you as well.

Janet, I was glad to see that Beth was feeling better when you checked on her.  It sounds like you had a busy day today.

Pat, I will check out the webcam.  Those were great pictures.  I also liked the devotional message today.

Teresa Dawn, it sounds like most things are closed down with the strikes.

Marilyn, I am going to see if we have the hymn you requested in our library and if we do I will post it for you in a few minutes.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.  My Georgia Bulldogs just beat Arkansas in football so my friends will be happy campers.  It was a close game and Georgia had several players injured during the game.  Hopefully none of the injuries were too serious.

Aye, a lot is closed down but not all the time, the other unions just take turns having a day to protest, only the teachers are really on strike and are out the whole time.

Thanks for the comment.....

We didn't get started till almost 2 PM.  Grandson called at noon (he was supposed to be here at 1 PM) and said he had a late night and he just got up.  So much for my timeframe.

Oh well !  We spent almost 3 hrs tearing apart and removing the interior seats, carpet, etc.  I explained restoration and rebuilding to him...he seemed interested.  But I also think he was glad when the work was finiished.  I let him do most of the work...including the dirty part.

I told him the next lesson would be pulling a steering wheel and crash pad on the dash.  He said, "OK !"

Seems I did something wrong when trying to get the webcam.  Oh, well, nothing new for me.  :-[

I had a great day today, up until this evening.  I got several of Beth's curtains shortened, hemmed, pressed and hung, took Abby to a birthday party, and when I went to pick her up, swung by Beth's to hang another curtain.  As we were leaving her place....the dogs were running along in front of the car, as they always do---I was driving very slowly because of them---and I felt a bump, and knew I had run over one of them.  :'(  Abby and I both jumped out to see, and both Mieka and Miracle were howling and limping.  But I soon discovered it was Miracle who was run over.  She was bleeding from both ends. :'(

Of course we ran in to tell Beth, picked up the dog and brought her in, and Beth called the vet, who said bring her right in, he would meet us there.  It takes a while to get Beth into her wheelchair, down the ramp, into the car, then load the chair.........when we got there, the vet was looking out the door.  He came to the car, took the dog in to check her over while I got Beth out of the car.

The verdict is a broken femur on the hind leg, and he thinks she is bleeding internally.  He said to do the needed tests would be very costly; but he could give her some steroids and if she is in shock and not losing too much blood internally, that should bring her around.  Then he can decide what else to do.

That little chihuahua has lived about 80% of her life on Beth's lap, so you can imagine how upset she is.  And of course I feel awful about it too.  The vet was taking her home with him so he can keep an eye on her tonight.  He didn't seem too hopeful the dog will survive, though. :'( :'( :'(

Anyway, that sure put a damper on my day.

Talk to you later.

Oh, Janet.....I'm so sorry.  I feel for you and Beth both.  Yes, this would sure put a damper on your day. :(  Bless your heart.

We have had the awesome priveledge of hosting, at church, a desert and coffee hour with Nick Cardases a missionary in Spain.  He was an easy person to talk to and listen to.  He also gave a lengthy time to ask and answer questions.  When he spoke he spent time explaining that he teaches his converts that there is a cost to following Jesus.  He has set up descipleship courses for children, and adults.  He calls these courses  "catechism classes".  They are basics of the Christian faith and Bible doctrine.  I had the opportunity at the end of the evening to speak to him privately.  He is a kind, gentle, and compassionate man, who needs all our prayers.  Spain is a spiritually hard country to work in.

Well it is late and we all are tired so night all and God bless.

JudyB

Janet I am so sorry aboout the pooch of Beth's.   I will be upholding her and the dog as the weekend wears on.  Let her know that please.

God bless you dear you really have had a run of it haven't you?

Let our Father wrap His arms around you and hold you tight.

Judy

Janet

Thanks Nita and JudyB.........every time the phone rings, I think it's going to be news about the dog; but nothing thus far.

I miss my honey!!!  But he will be home maybe by midnight.  The first thing I wanted to do after that happened was to talk to Darrel.

Please pray for a young man I know, great Christian young man, father of three little girls.....he wanted so much to attend Promise Keepers, but hurt his back on Thursday.  Pastor's wife just called to tell me that he has been throwing up every 30 minutes since Friday, is cold and sweating, and now having chest pains and trouble breathing.  His wife was taking him to the ER.  His name is Thadd, and he is about 32 years old.  I have known him since he was a young boy; and his mother died of cancer when he was 14.  He's a great guy.
