Morning Devotional...

My time is not yet come.
John 7:6

Here is an expression that is characteristic of the Gospel of John. The life of the Lord Jesus was not a series of random events dictated by the whim of fate, or even by His own will, but a life controlled and directed by the will of the Father.

What a comfort to know that our lives can be similarly directed when the Lord is given control over all things.

It is important not only to do what He asks, but also to do it when He wants it to be done. Sometimes we can do the right thing at the wrong time, and the benefit can be lost.

May the Lord give us sensitivity to heaven's timing in our lives.
Wm. Burnett

Be patient and await His leisure
in cheerful hope, with heart content,
To take whate'er thy Father's pleasure
and His discerning love hath sent.

Marilyn..........

We once were all lost (sinners) but now are found (Saved).  All our works are as "Filthy rags."  There is nothing we can do to improve on His accomplished work of salvation.  We who are saved all have the Lord, and there is nothing we can do, or will ever do to change it.  We need nothing else, and it's Jesus Christ plus nothing.  In my quietness in prayer and worship, I am at one with the Lord, and the only thing left for me besides witnessing Him, is to wait for His calling me home.

U.K. 10 a.m.

Thankyou for the Devotional Pat.....
I always felt I  ended up doing the wrong thing from the right motive ..Now by the Grace of God I ask Him for wisdom before I act.  Especially in the "timing" dept.,

It is very important that we do not "Miss the Moment". It will not come again.
                         ................

We have a thick frost on the ground here this morning and it is so icy cold.

My cats are enjoying the cold snap because we have allotments nearby and there are plenty of field mice and rats....yes rats coming to look for food.  Today Pushkin brought me a present of a dead field mouse., yesterday I had a field mouse and a rat!!!  Last week Becky brought a field mouse and one of them managed to drag a huge rat to the window and leave it there for me...UGH!!  I have a special dustbin at the far end of the back garden for these "gifts" and for any "doings" of Sunday dog on our lawn. There is a strong liner bag in there and it is well disinfected for the Refuse men to take away regularly...it is not with the household rubbish.  I have a sep. bin for that in the entry.
I had never seen a rat until we came to live here, even my old cat where we previously lived did not bring any.  She was a terror for baby birds in Spring!!!

Give me my dogs every time!

Well I must go I suppose to perform the burial ceremony  ;)

Hallo Ria.I hope you are feeling better now. "Glimlachen  alsjeblieft!"  :D

Love to all.
Jenny.

Good morning, friends,

It's very early here in Nashville and, Sonifo, while the weather is quite warm, we are to expect rain lasting for several hours. So, does this mean that our March lamb came riding in a canoe in Nashville?

Y'all have a good day.

It is a Lamb here.  How I was wishing for a lion!  Well we take what we get and know there will be warm weather coming soon.  Just not soon enough.

Nards, can you imagine 10 eight to ten year olds singing that song at the top of their lungs?  It was wonderful to hear.

Ria I am glad your toe is feeling better. Have a good day.

Jenny Good morning sis, Stay warm, and let us know when the flowers bloom across the pond!

Well I need to get busy and wake the girls, Be bacl later.

Lamb?  Lion?  I don't know which it was.  It was sort of between.  A little sheepish and a little catty.  So I guess when we come to the end of this month it'll just go out, period.  Might even be that April will come then.

We are having wet, mild weather here.  A soggy lamb???

I recorded on the History channel...Hollywood vs. History.  It was about biblical films...mostly Mel Gibsons film.  All of them had good things to say but should I have been surprised that the one that praised the movie the most was Joel Siegel, a Jewish movie critic??  The person that was a historian, doesn't think the Gospels are historically correct.   ???  My view is 'What makes the difference?'  Faith makes you accept all of God's words as truth!

Jerry is going to feel lonesome when Bubba goes back to his house. this afternoon. Ivalou and I are going to see 'The Passion of the Christ' this afternoon.  My son and his family saw the movie last evening and he was speechless even though he called me afterwards.  I asked him how he liked it.  He said he was in shock just knowing how much God loves him.  But he also said he felt that the movie probably shows more of the true facts than other movies or stories and drawings.  Like the movie critic said....this movie lets you 'feel'!!!

I have come to conclusion that our prayer before seeing the movie included that we see and absorb this movie...maybe that was why I didn't tear up....God helped me to 'see' the movie with clear eyes.

Soni, if I don't put "work out" at the TOP of my agenda, I find I never get it done!  But of course, you are a couple years younger than me. (And no comments, Nards!)  :) ;D

Darrel has been having the hiccoughs (hiccups) for an hour to an hour and a half at a time!  It just wears him out!  He was up a lot during the night, but now he thinks the worst is past and he is feeling a bit better.  Thank you for your prayers, Sonja and Ria, they are appreciated.

I had my nice swim, now I must find something to eat and get ready to go to the dentist for my twice yearly cleaning.  So next time you see me, my smile will be all polished. ;D ;D See??

I worked several hours Saturday on Mark's album, then took it to Diane's yesterday to have her help me decide if some of the photos were Mark, or were they Curtis?  When they were small, we didn't think they looked at all alike, but now........hard to tell which is which.  Any of you ever run into that?

The Passion is staying in my mind---very much.

I must go, be back later.

4.50 p.m.

Oh dear lost my post...

Oh Pinkie I do love the pussy cats..I have two now and we lost one 12 year old a few years ago., can't help it if I'm a doggie person...
I used to have "legs" and loved walking my dog for miles every day. My dogs are so clever...cats are only clever when it comes to food!!!

Soni Yes stick with children and cleaning felt tips up from the carpet!!...ha ha!!!  I have lots of soft animals too and I am making some.

I ventured out this afternoon.  It looked lovely outside....Oh dear, it wasn't very wise of me.  My little Rascal and I went down the hill at the side of my home to the Police station...fine...then round the corner to come up the hill at the back of our home...sun was shining, all was well.....then....Suddenly, Jenny got colder and colder....brrr...brrr....
By the grace of God I am home now and 2 cups of tea later and a warm up by the fire and I am O.K.

"Wisdom is proved right by all of her children"..O.K. Lord!...We live and learn folks!

I have fed the cats and so far no dead mice waiting for me., however if this cold snap continues it doesn't bode well for the little darlings and their bigger cousins the rats...Watch out, Pushkin's about...also little Becky cat!

Well I have enjoyed my little visit with you all this afternoon. ;)

Good morning all!  I just learned how to put frames on my pictures and posted a few new pics in the photo section.  Please stop by and take a look see!
Thanks!
Does anybody know how to re-train a cat to use the litter box?  I keep the litter clean but one of my 2 cats still leaves me a little heap every morning - outside the box.  I have spanked, and pushed nose into the mess (but then it's harder to clean up after that, so I don't do that often)  Then I feel bad afterwards, but what's a person to do to try and RE-train a cat???  He used to use the box fine!  Any suggestions?
Shalom.

Pinkie...........

Your problem is the "Litter."  Change the kind you use.  Change to more sandy and less granular.

Karma........

March is known for "Coming in like a lion, and going out like a lamb."  This is why I said March 1 (Lion) and March 31 (Lamb).

Janet.........

Hiccoughs (hiccups) is a chemical reaction in the body.  Attack it with a chemical action.  One teaspoon of sugar, and let it disolve for a few seconds.  The hiccoughs (hiccups) disappear immediately.

Well, I'm not sure if I've posted in here yet today!

It's great to be able to read all these posts.

Lee, not sure what was going on with the "offline" "online" stuff last night.  One thing to remember is that once you leave CP and go offline, your name will remain for at least 15 minutes at the bottom of the page showing you online.  It's something I can't change.  So sometimes it looks as if someone is online when maybe they left 15 minutes ago.

Also, Lee, your remedy for hiccups for Janet...  How about putting that down in our Tips area (http://christianphotographers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=47) so that it will be there long after this New Every Morning is closed.  That's a great tip!  I remember my poor father when he had serious back surgery, got the hiccups in the hospital and had them for hours and hours on end and his whole abdomen felt bruised from the constant motion of the hiccups.  Nothing they could do would get rid of them for poor Dad.  I'd just sit there and hold his poor hand.

Great to see you Ruth Ann...  I've been remembering you in prayer.  Keep popping in when you can.

Janet, glad you had your swim.  Does the pool have lots of chlorine in it?  The pool near to where I live has so much in it that my swim isn't enjoyable.

Phone's ringing...  I'll be back.

Lee, That's what I was referring to.  I've always heard that if it comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb, and if it comes in like a lamb, it will go out like a lion.  Definitely lambish here today.

Jenny -- I read somewhere why cats do that.  In their eyes, you are the Alpha cat, and they are just trying to help you provide for the family.   ;D.

Pinkie, I would agree with Lee about maybe changing the litter.  Also, didn't you recently move?  That may have disrupted the "schedule" a bit and the cat doesn't feel like the box is in the right place.  Maybe try it somewhere else??

Ahh, the discussions we have!!

I've had the hiccups today too.  More annoying than anything.  Is 3/1 nat'l hiccup day or something.  I think mine are gone for now.

I'll be back later.  At work and need to do some paperwork!!

Where else can we talk about such things?  This is family, right!?  Anyway, the litter was just changed a couple of days ago, and I keep it scooped.  They have gone in it much worse on other occasions.
Yes I've moved (3 months ago), but the cats have settled in long since, and have been using the box in this location - no problem - until just recently.
Anybody checked out the pics yet???  I'm anxious to hear if you like em!

Pastoral Ministry: A Different Man in the Pulpit

You are witnesses, and God also, how devoutly and justly and
blamelessly we behaved ourselves among you who believe....
--1 Thessalonians 2:10

I am afraid of the pastor that is another man when he enters the
pulpit from what he was before. Reverend, you should never think
a thought or do a deed or be caught in any situation that you
couldn't carry into the pulpit with you without embarrassment.
You should never have to be a different man or get a new voice
and a new sense of solemnity when you enter the pulpit. You
should be able to enter the pulpit with the same spirit and the
same sense of reverence that you had just before when you were
talking to someone about the common affairs of life. Worship:
The Missing Jewel of the Evangelical Church, 29.

"Lord, help me to be a man of impeccable integrity. Give me the
grace to be the same man, whether in the pulpit, in a board
meeting, caught in rush hour traffic, or at dinner with my wife.
Amen."

Pinkie In spending time cleaning I came up with an idea.  First how old is the Kitty?  Is it old enough to be in a snit about having to share the litter box?  This can happen if one of the kitties have had a change in the odour in the litter.  Could you use 2 litterboxes?  It might help.

Mullet, there is an old wives tale that goes "If March comes in like a lamb it will go out like a lion.  If march comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb."  The key is the weather, if the weather is stormy then it is a roaring lion.  If it is calm and peaceful, then it is like a lamb.  Today is lamb weather.  Plus 13*C now mullet go 13 X 9 divide by 5 then add 32.  you will have the temp in F.  Melting weather.

I am on the way out the door, have to take care of business and then AWANA and Air Cadets. Tonight is a late night as Air Cadets is not done till 9:30 and occasionally later.

Bye for now

And a good day to Lee, Karmat, Ria, Jenny, Ruth Ann, Judy B., Sarah, Al, Sonja, Etta Sue, Janet, Marilyn, Pinkie, Jeremy, Pat S., Nards,  and Chris & Margit.

Good to see each one today.  We have had one of those "rained all day" days.  After the week end activities I think we needed one of those restful, stay at home days.  So we have stayed at home today catching up with some of the little chores.

Pat, many things went through my mind when I read the devotional for this morning.  I thought of :
Eccl 3:1-11
1   There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
2   a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3   a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4   a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5   a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6   a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7   a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8   a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
9   What does the worker gain from his toil?
10   I have seen the burden God has laid on men.
11   He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.  (NIV)

Several friends of mine have said to me, "Your time hasn't come yet.  God still has things for you to do."  They were speaking of how near death I was when I was in the hospital in September and October.  For awhile the doctors didn't know if I would live or die.  When I had cardiac arrest they couldn't get my heart to beat for 15 minutes.  I didn't see any bright lights or have any near death experiences.  But I have since then thought about how fragile life is and how glad I am that I am ready to respond when the Lord calls me home.  Solomon's statement "a time to be born and a time to die" should cause all us to be thankful for Jesus our Savior.

Hi everyone.  Just a quick note to say we are home from our trip to Florida.  We drove for 10 hours today, leaving a little after 6 am and getting home a little after 4 pm.  We had a great time in Florida and a safe trip down and back.  Needless to say we are pretty well exhausted so am going to make this very short.  I haven't had a chance to read any of postings since we left as within the hour after posting last Thursday evening I discovered that the external power adapter on my laptop had quit working and the battery was about run down in my computer.  I took it to CompUSA  early Friday morning to see if they would replace it, as it is still under their warranty but when I stopped Sunday afternoon to get it they had not even looked at it so just had to take my computer back as we were coming back to Atlanta today.  I will try to take it in tomorrow.  At least I have my desktop here at home to use.

Larry, I'm glad you got home safe and sound.  Sorry about the laptop problem.  I hope you get it solved OK.  If I use my laptop using the battery and it stops working because the battery is dead I just hook it up and let it charge overnight and the next day it is fine.

A week from Saturday we will drive down to Bradenton, Florida, where we will spend five weeks.  This is the 11th year we have gone and we really enjoy it.  We are a mile or so from the beach and the house we rent has its own private heated pool.

Lee, I notice that you, like me, are beginning to get a little old.  So you can relate to the thought that the Lord will call us home before too long.  Actually we are not too old though.  I say that anyone who is ten years older than I am is getting old.

I am very concerned with the dangerous situation in Haiti.  Four years ago Cornelia and I went to Haiti to visit an orphan home and some schools and to visit several churches.  I spoke five times on Sunday, Sunday School, worship, radio program, and two different congregations that night.  We observed how bad the poverty is and also how bad living conditions are.  We visited with churches, schools, and one orphan home which our congregation helps to support.  The people of Haiti need our prayers.

I feel like if a lamb were out today, the wind would have blown the fleece away!  It sure is windy out there!  Both of my downspout have blown off.  Glad I noticed or they could be at Jeannes by tomorrow.

I got a lot more out of the movie seeing it the second time.  I definitely will buy the VHS or DVD when it comes out.

Thanks for the clickable of the still photos in the movie...I think that was Marilyn!!

Ivalou and I had an Orange Chicken Salad at Applebee's!  Really good!

Papa John, have a great time at Bradenton.  My brother and SIL are still there...somewhere at an RV park near the Interstate!!!

Glad that Larry and Pat returned home safe and sound.  That's a long drive.  Wasn't a long drive a few years back but it is now.

Pinkie, I thought I had problems because this new Inky doesn't cover her deposits in the litter.  So I guess I am thankful that both my kitties use the same litter box.  But Inky is a lot more stinky than Ali ever was.  Phew!!!!

Hiccups!  My grandfather, when I was a little one, had the hiccups for 7 days.  It about killed him.  Day and night, 7 days!!!

The things we talk about...

Good Evening Everyone...

I'm so happy to see your two posts, Papa John.  I know how upset all of CP was during those days of your illness.  We were praying so hard for you.  I'm so happy that you're here now and are able to talk about it with us all.  I'm so happy too to read your comments on today's devotional.  Thanks for the scripture you put in.

Yes, what a time Haiti is having.  I remember you going to visit that orphanage.  That was a long time ago now.

I have just spent the last hour on Im with Jenny. Delightful conversation.

Yes Etta Sue it was me who posted that link. I found some the reviews entertaining as well, especially the ones putting the movie down who had no idea what they were talking about.  I will be seeing the movie on Thursday with Al and Marbeth.

I think I will go prepare some supper now be back later.

We are getting ready to head back out.  Zachery has baseball tryouts and I need to pick Troy up from swimming.

One of Mike's coworkers wife died in a car accident yesturday morning coming from Sundance, Wy.  She was there seeing her father who is dieing of cancer.  Please keep them in your prayers.
Thanks (she is with God)

We got so much snow.  It is so wierd how one day it is 55 degrees and the next day it snows 12 inches or more and leaves BIG drifts everywhere.   It is 29 degrees out so it is not that cold.

It was nice to hear from you Papa John and Larry!

I best be going.

Oh, Soni, how tragic!  I'm so sorry to read of Mike's co-worker's wife.

Yes, I'll be remembering the family in my devotional time.

Pinkie In spending time cleaning I came up with an idea.  First how old is the Kitty?  Is it old enough to be in a snit about having to share the litter box?  This can happen if one of the kitties have had a change in the odour in the litter.  Could you use 2 litterboxes?  It might help.

Judy...both cats are about the same age and have been together and using the same litterbox for a little over a year now.  I was wondering if there was some odorous stuff that you could put down that would disuade him from wanting to do that there...

I've been cleaning out the Photos areas tonight.  Many had broken links.  If you delete photos from your webpages, then let Soni, Karma or I know so that we can delete that topic so that our site won't have broken links, ok?

But while I've been doing this, I've been enjoying the old photo topics so much.  I'm working in the Photos with Scripture right now and came across this one from last year.

It was taken by our Chris.

Boats on Morecombe Bay (http://christianphotographers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=32;action=display;threadid=926&start=0)

Chris had this hymn playing in there and I'm sitting listening to it now.

Go and have another look at this wonderful photo and verse.  Treat yourself and look through them all!

Now, sing along with me...

Hi Everyone....I was reading the posts when the phone rang and it was Billy, one of my trainees in EE.   He told me that ANYOLFI who accepted the Lord in the hallway of his apartment building last Tuesday night was IN CHURCH ON SUNDAY MORNING!   I wasn't at church because I was at a ladies retreat.   Apparently Anyolfi walked to the church and was sitting by himself when Billy saw him and sat with him.    He will be going to the Youth Bible Study on Wednesday and I will personally talk to the leader to take Anyolfi under his wing.   I talked to him on the phone and tomorrow night we will go again and have a follow up and meet his brother MOYSES.   Please pray for tomorrow night that Moyses will decide that he wants Jesus in his life also and that Anyolfi's spiritual eyes will be opened to see all that God has for him now that he is a child of God.

I am so excited about this and I told Billy that all this has happened because you dear friends have prayed for Anyolfi.    God's richest blessing on you all.

Love Ruthie

At the ladies retreat we learned about obedience. When we obey God, He does some wonderful things though us.  We need to give everything to Him.  All our anxious thought, our family, our husbands, our careers, our lives.   We spent time with other Christians and we spent time alone reading Psalm 139 that says that God knows our very thoughts even before we think them.

God knows our name and has written it on His hands.

Pinkie....I have cats who still have their claws and sometimes I catch them clawing at my furniture so I use a spray called Indoor Repellent and in French it is called "Repulsif"  In otherwords, when I spray it, they run away because it is repulsive to them.  I think it will last on the article for a while.   I'm sure you could find that product or another one at a pet store and spray where you kitty goes!     What I would do is pick up the kitty dudu and put it in the kitty litter.  Maybe kitty will realize that is where it should be.

Hello everyne!

Ms.JudyB, The answer is 55 1/2. The wether here is coming in like a LION! We have gotten 5 iches of snow, and four foot drifts, and slush pudles the size of Texas!!!!!

I just got back from signing up for baseball. The try out are on wednesday the 17th. The coaches will pick the kids they want one at a time, they usually have 2 or 3 good kids on a team so it is fair. They said that I can stay on one team for three years, or if I do not like that tem I can try out again next year. I hope I get stuck with a good team and good coach.

Have a good evening!!

I didn't know what he meant...so I followed the link...didn't know there was such a place!  While we're on the subject - I was wondering what constitutes a "global moderator"- just curoious...

Woooohooo...Mullet! ;D

I am kind of sad :( because I just kicked Janet off the 3rd spot.

Oh well...I am sure she won't mind.

Hi Pat!
What happened with all those mugs? ::) ;D
Did you get all the vaccuuming done?
I got most the laundry done and some of the house picked up.  I guess the most important was hanging with the kids.

This evening went by so fast.  It was nice to see so many posting today.  It is good to read a variety.

Hope you all come back tomorrow and post.

I better get to bed.  Talk with you all later.

P.S.
Have I told you all lately how much you mean to me?
Well, you do! Thanks!

HI Pinkie!  I love the borders on you pictures.  You are doing a great job.  Keep it up.  One thing I did was browse other photos and look at the borders on them.  Some took over the photo while others accentuated the photo.

Well, I'm tired.

I have been doing laundry all evening along with vacuuming.  LOL  Kind of backwards, right?

But I got my Avon all figured out.

The mugs?  I have a fellow from the church I used to attend coming to see them.  He says that they might be interested in having them for the church.  That will be good and they certainly are a good price!

Global Moderators, Pinkie are my helpers.  They all have certain areas that they look after.  Sonja is a Moderator of this New Every Morning as well as the Photos area and the new Tips area and other places.  Al Moak is the Moderator of the Manna for the Soul area and the "Have You Prayed About it?" and there are others.

I couldn't run this site without their help and I would say that I have the very best Moderators anywhere!

Now, it's time to lock the door.

Yes, it's been a lovely day in New Every Morning today.  Lots of varied talk.

Let's do it tomorrow.

Congratulations, Zac, for being in the top 25!!  LOL
