Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Where Do You Live?

Matthew 6:13.
"For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen."

Five-year-olds are curious about absolutely everything.  Little Julie was no exception.  She came into the kitchen and found her mother doing dishes.  The conversation went something like this: "Mommy - what are you doing?  I'm doing the dishes, Julie.  Why, Mommy?  Why do you do that?  Julie, it's because they belong to Jesus, and because we belong to Him too.  These are His dishes, and you and I and Daddy and your little brother - all belong to Him, so we want the dishes to be clean and ready for use, because we love Him."

What a wonderful answer!  We could give the same answer if God asked us about anything we do in life.  We could well say, "For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen."

Is that what you tell God about your activities in His world?  Do you really know that everything you touch, everything you see, and everyone you meet - all belong to Him?  Do you deal with things and people that way?  How about today?  Will you ask Him for grace to deal with everything and everybody as His servant today?.

I can not sleep tonight so here I am at the computer reading  and reading some more. Good Devotional Al.

The service last night was very nice, the singing was wonderful and had me in tears.

Well I am going back to bed and try to get some sleep, now that my headache has subsided quite a bit maybe sleep will come.

See you when I get up again later.

Howdy!   ;D  Hope all of you are enjoying a lovely day with our Lord.

The tornadoes and fires are really devastating large sections of our country.  So many "natural" disasters during the past year......and I wonder how long it might continue.  You think maybe the end is coming, closer and closer?
:-\

Abby just finished trying on a huge box full of clothes.  They were given to a family with two girls about her age whose house burned down recently; but their Mom didn't want any of them. :o  I don't understand that, all are nice, clean and cute besides.  Abby wanted to keep everything.........but we weeded out about half that do not fit.  Most are too short for her, as she is quite tall for her age.  We did find a lot that she can wear, at least for a few months, and then will pass them on to someone else who can use them.  Diane bought her a lot of new clothes for school, as she had outgrown everything, and now she has outgrown most of those, too.  So this will be great for them.

Beth has a friend from college days here visiting, so I don't have to worry quite so much about her for a few days.  She lives in Hutchinson, is back in college again, so is out this week on Spring Break.

Karma, good to see you pop in today!  Marilyn, hope your headache is gone.  Al........good devotional, thanks.

Etta Sue, if you stop in today, I hope you are having a wonderful time and the sunburn isn't too painful.

Larry, when you finish with your computer, will you come over and work on ours?  ;)

Pat, I hope you are feeling chipper today!

Liz, how is your weather now?

I'm outa here for a while now.

I've had a nice long weekend and spent the last hour or so catching up on everyone here.

RuthAnn, it is so nice to hear from you again.

Janet, coverted vans here are quite expensive too.  We have to pay taxes for all vehicles, new, used, coverted...anything.  The government needs their share of after-income-tax money too.

I had to purchase a new crockpot on the weekend.  My old one bit the dust.  It just needs to be washed and it will be good to go!

I must get busy and get some things done...like laundry, banking, job-searching, housework...the list could be never-ending if I let it.

 Hello its a nice day here again today.
Not much going on today and its good to get some quite time.

Trying to get my thoughts together to bring a bible study to our women's group.

Good devotional today .

It's raining - has been all day - and the temperature is only 46, nowhere the 60 we were "promised".    :rain: And each day coming looks to be a little bit colder than its predecessor, with some snow also on the horizon.  There goes my heating bill again   :(

Our Mission Committee has decided to use the value of a cow for undeveloped countries to show the progress of One Great Hour of Sharing - $200 each.  We've cut out and colored fifteen silly looking cows and will mount one for each $200 donated.  The chairwoman of the committee called me last evening and told me we've already received over $600!!!  :cheer:   Now I know some of you in large churches will think that's really small potatoes, but we number less than 200 in our congregation, many of whom are non-attenders for one reason or another.  So we think that's just great so early in the campaign, and before next Sunday she and I will put up the first three cows in the display.

Well, I have gone to another Cardiologist and now I have another halter hook up to see the beats of my heart.  After that I will have another Echo.   The last Cardiologist just said everything was okay and the extra beats are still there, so I'm having a second opinion by a doctor from Sri Lanken.  Apparently he is very thorough.   But all these tests are tiresome.

God Bless     Ruthie

Great devotional:

To all that posted - hello.

I purchased my new zipper for Mel's coat, half  hour work and it was in.  Now about the cost, south of the border I know you pay less than in Canada but this is the breakdown that I was given just this afternoon.  At the cleaners to have the old one REPAIRED 6 - 8 dollars to have a new one put in by them would be $1.50 an inch and the zipper is 26 inches plus the cost of a new zipper.  I purchased a new zipper the same as the old one and my cost was $4.50.  The gentleman at the cleaners did say to check out repair before going to all the work as most zipper only need a new clasp.

We have had rain off and on for most of the day and the rivers and streams are high.

Howdie.  Jeanne, I sure understand about heating bills.  I had to take money from savings to order more oil.  I hate to do that because I don't have funds to replace it, but you do what you have to do.  God knows where I live and what I have. :)

We're having rain and wind again.  It's nice sitting inside and watching it.  When I was young I used to love walking in the rain.  Not now. haha

Melody, how did you do on your Women's Bible study?

Going to check out the Gallery now.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is at about the end of the day but wanted to get here to read the postings.

I spent a good part of the day continuing to load software and get my desktop computer back in the fashion I want it to be.  I still have several hours of work to finish up but it is running much faster and I am glad I went through this process.

Pat volunteered this morning in the office at the local Elementary School.  We then went to a new Mexican eating place where you tell them what you want on the item you order.  It was very good and we will definitely go back.  Neither of us were hungry this evening so didn't have supper.

Janet, those were some terrible storms out your way and in Missouri.  The storms do seem to be more severe and I think the end days will be here before too long.  Of course we don't know God's timetable but he has told us what will be happening in his Holy Word.  I think we are seeing signs everywhere.

Marilyn, hope your headache is now over.  As a younger man I suffered migranes for many years so know how inhabilitating they can be.  I am fortunate in that I no longer suffer with them.  This has been the pattern of the men in my family.

Al, thanks for the devotional today.

Nita, you all are having some tough weather out your way.  Once again we had warm weather and had the house open most of the afternoon.

Ruth, how could anyone afford to have a new zipper put in at that cost.

Ruthie, hope this doctor will be able to provide more information.  It sounds like you will be having quite a conference.  I have seen Billy Graham's daughter on Larry King.

Jeanne, that is an interesting project your church is undertaking to help buy cows.  Hope it is a total success and it sounds like it is off to a good start.

Hi Melody.  Hope you enjoyed your quiet time today.

Sue, governments never seem to run out of ways to tax us.  We have a new tax on the surface of our lots that are covered with inpentratable surfaces, such as where the house is and the drives and walks and is based on the square footage of these surfaces.

Ritz, Kevin and Karmat -- good to see you all posting.

Janet

Ruthie, I hope the heart monitor finds no problems and that then you can stop worrying about your "overactive" heart!  Your upcoming conference sounds wonderful.  I have heard Ruth Graham Lotz speak (on TV and on tape) and would jump at a chance to hear her in person.  She has certainly had plenty of crises in her life.

Ruth, good for you, replacing the zipper yourself.  As others have said, I don't care for that little chore at all.  I don't mind putting them in a new garment I am making, but hate ripping them out and replacing them.

Larry, you didn't say when you will be over to work on our computers.  ;)  It's a blessing that you can do that work yourself.

Abby played this afternoon with my sister's little granddaughter Autumn.  They really enjoy each other in spite of the 6 years difference in their ages.  I think Abby feels Autumn is a real live doll....and she is, at that!  :)

Darrel went to the church this evening and helped paint a room.  We are getting the place all spruced up for the Ladies Conference.  It is the 24th and 25th.

My grandson from Salina just called and they will be coming down with Mark when he comes for Spring Break on Friday, to spend the week with us.  Whew!  Two weeks straight of grandkids!  We'd better lay in a supply of groceries!  ::)

It is a little early, but everyone here is tired, in fact, I'm the only one still up, so I am locking up early tonight.  Be back in a few minutes to do just that.
