That training has been the pattern of leadership since the beginning of time. Is there an obvious balance in my leadership style between a warm-hearted, compassionate approach, and a definite, pointed one?

The mentoring process is never outdated, and as you mentor be sure to pass on equal measures of grace and truth.

My own computer is readdy i am very happy now i can use him when and how long i will.

LARRY i am so sad to read from your granddaughter so young and such little kids i pray for for here and also for you.

Yesterday we have had a very sunny day i have 1 hour sit outsite. But today it is dark and sometimes a little bit rain. But tomorrow it shall be 17*C that is nice that is what we need.

My husband must this afternoon to the hospital for his snoring.
We have talk about volenteer work but he will nothing do so i go do volenteer work not the hole days
but in the afternoon 2-3 hours and also not every day.
I go do volenteer work in a nursing home there has my mother also been and there is a lot work to do for volenteers helping the people to drink bringing one to
activity the most people are sitting in a wheelchair and i can also go walk outsite with own. Some people
to them there is never someone coming. They are never come outsite . And there are not enough nurses
but a lot volenteers but i go not every day. I also have other things to do.
And when my son was going to school then i have a lot work done for Amnesty International also going to schools talk about the work from A I. But that i want
no more but there is also a lot paperwork to do that i also go do. But that can i also do home.
When i was young before my son was born i have been accountant but that i want no more to do in my time then we have no computers so much but now and i don't like work on a computer so much.
The hole day been in home booth that is also nothing.


BUT I AM VERY HAPPY THAT I HAVE SEEN YOU ALL AGAIN IT WAS HURRY ON THE COMPUTER
OF MY SON HE ALSO HAVE A TOTAL OTHER COMPUTER
BUT YESTERDAY WE HAVE BUY SATURDAY A NEW COOLER AND MOTHERBOARD AND YESTERDAY IN THE AFTERNOON HE AND A FRIEND HAVE IT PUT IN THE COMPUTER.  AND I AM HAPPY THAT I NOW CAN ON MY
OWN  COMPUTER.

My heart belongs to Jesus.  Thanks for the devotional. ..."each in his office wait"...I think this also speaks to us that we should know our own gifts and not try to take on another's duties.  This does happen in some churches due to envy and pride.  It happens in other walks of life too.

Bernard, I will give you my opinion of King of Torts when I get to the  end...(if I finish it).  I still prefer Steve Martini to Grisholm. I love John le Carre (D.J. Cornwell) and have read just about all of his, although I understand he has written a new one...Must get that...My son love Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series and has lots of them. I enjoy the television series of Sharpe, very much. Napoleonic history interests me.

Kathy.  Thank-you dear for the concerned wishes of last evening's post.  Sorry I missed you.  I was in bed.  I am glad I popped back to yesterday's "room" and saw you there. God Bless you dear sister. You are one of life's great encouragers. I really appreciate your posts.

It will soon be St. Pat's day and although I haven't been anywhere here except the prayers and NEM.  

Ria, I am glad that you have updated your computer.  I can see that you volunteer a lot! Wow!
I only volunteer after work on Thursdays at our Free Clinic where all doctors, nurses, pharmacists, clerical and everyone are volunteers for people who work, but have not the funds to see a doctor. They are not on any medical programs that the government provides either. This is a wonderful worthwhile benefit that we have in this county and is sponsered by donations from churches, businesses and individuals.  

Maybe tonight, I will be able to visit some of the other places here on CP.

Good rnorning folks. Well we are having a quiet morning on CP today, so I thought I would jump in here since I am still home this morning. Called my dispatch and the load may not be ready to go until tommorrow am so Judy may have to endure me until then. I don't think she will complain though.

We are having snow again this morning. It started last night but I hope it will soon end and the sun will come out again.

I have desided to start a study in the Bible that has been on my heart for some time so today that may be  a good day to get started. It will be a study on how we behave here on earth in comparison to the example set by Jesus. It should be an interesting study.

Hi everyone.  Just back from my morning walking at the "Y" and then coffee with my retired friends.  It isn't cold here today but is overcast and we may get some rain.

I appreciate knowing that so many of you are praying for my granddaughter.  She has not had an easy life and this problem is another big hurdle for her.  She lives in Missouri so we seldom are able to see her although I did get to see her and the new baby on the webcam a few days ago.  

Ria, glad you have your computer fixed and are able to use it now.  Your volunteer work sounds very beneficial.  I saw many volunteers at work in the many hours I spent with my parents when they were in the nursing homes and know that it really helps the staff and improves the quality of the life for many of the residents.  A kind word and a few moments of conversation are often what a person needs when they are lonely and the paid staff is so busy they don't have time to spend with them.  

Papa John, glad to see you are safely enjoying your visit to Florida and that you had a good trip.  Glad the traffic through Atlanta wasn't too bad.  Having made the 10 hour trip back and forth from St. Petersburg recently I can relate to what a long car trip it is but we found the roads in good shape.  Hope you will be able to swim as often as you like in your heated pool and that you get lots of reading done.

A big welcome to Kathy Westgate.  It sounds like you have a full schedule but hope you can often visit with us here.

Bonesy,  you probably are already on the road but do hope you have a good trip this week.  You have a lot of driving ahead of you.

Al, yes our church is starting the process of calling a new senior pastor.  In fact, last evening we had a churchwide dinner and started the process of identifying are history and what we want in a new pastor.  We have gone through a lot of turmoil in the last few months and lost a number of members.  However, there is a sense, as expressed by our groups last evening, that the healing is started and that God is at work with us to strengthen our church the his work in our community.  We will have another joint session of our members in a couple of weeks to hopefully complete the process and provide the background necessary for the paperwork to start the pastor selection process.  In the Presbyterian church it is quite an involved and long process.  We do have a fine interim pastor that is leading us in this process.

Jenny, in the last few months I have discovered what great Christian fiction is available and have really enjoyed it, particularly the writings of Hannah Alexander and Lauraine Snelling.  I have not read any of the Terri Blackstock books but will look for a couple at the library.  

I see my posting has gotten very long and I haven't commented to many of the posters.  However, I have read all of the messages and am glad to see everyone posting.

I got an e-mail from a friend over the weekend that goes right along with one of the links Pat has in the devotional today on prayer by a chaplain in a state legislature and telling it like it is.  I know I have seen it before but believe it is worth a repeat.

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the
prayer in protest..

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor,
logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding
negatively.

The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer
from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program,  "The Rest
of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other
he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and
wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation
under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. "If you don't stand
for something, you will fall for anything."

Good morning everyone from the west coast of central Florida where it started out a little rainy but seems to be getting lighter now.

Larry, we usually go by Atlanta on the western bypass but someone told us that Saturday the traffic would not be so bad going through the middle and they were right.  Unfortunately the water in the pool is a little too cold but we have the heater on full force and maybe by tomorrow it will be warmed up enough to swim in it.

OUCH!!  I have gotten my toes tread on this morning, which means I needed it!  I have been being convicted about going to the care home where Mom lives and offering to help in some capacity, and reading dear Ria's words strengthens that.  So I better listen, huh?  I know they need someone to help with their newsletter, and there are always folks who get no visitors.

I have also been listening to several preachers who are preaching on LOVE.  To love one another is one of the "standing orders" of the Lord.  I know I am guilty of not even trying to love some people (terrorists, etc.)  It is so much easier to criticize and condemn than to love our enemies.  Okay, that's my confession for the day, and I will henceforth do better!

Pat, I missed you yesterday.  I'm glad you had company keeping you off the computer, and that you weren't feeling bad.  You need a break, anyway!  ;D

Papa John, I think you are such a Godly example to all of us, of the love and care of God, and how He takes care of His own, through everything.  You have a true servant's heart.  Enjoy that pool!

Abby and I went swimming this morning, and I decided we would stay until she was ready to get out, but I was doubting that at the end!  She sure loves the water!

Thank you all for sharing the names of authors of good Christian fiction.  I read several books last week, all were Christian themes.  One really neat little book was "Growing up on the Edge of the World" by Phil Galloway.  It is about a 12 year old boy, and has Scripture and moral lessons woven throughout.  It was really an enjoyable book.  I also read "And the Shofar Blew" by Francine Rivers.  That was the first of her work I have read, but surely won't be the last!

I have lots of catching up to do, framing, etc.  And I want to go to the chiropractor today to see if he can help the pain in my right arm.  It is stealing my sleep.

I have woken up rested and rejuvenated.  John graciously has allowed me to sleep in as he watched Victor.  Half my morning routime for Mondays is done as well so it is time to spend time with my friends.

Victor is coming along quite well with Homeschooling.  This is a temporary aarrangement, as I am working to bring him up to grade level.  There was a teacher who told him he couldn't learn.  He is a quick learner, just has a very short attention span and in that time I have to cover the material quickly.  He is a wonderful boy but needs mommy.  

John is home till tomorrow morning.  WOOHOOO much needed time with the family especially the girls.

There is a lot of snow on the ground.  Ruth, Pat, if you haven't got the snow yet, you may get it tomight or tomorrow.  I am looking forward to some of Ria's weather.

Jenny that email about the two truckers was so like what we see with John and his trainees.  He tells us about the sights and the trainees tell us about the work.  I have been there where it was work.

I too decided in church that I would start a word study on the word Transformed. .  Pastor Dennis was speaking on Romans 12:2 and 2 other verses yesterday.  It has tweeked my intrest in that word as a study.  

When it comes to Bible Study I find I get more out of the study if I study a specific word and go through scripture looking up the word I also use a thesaurus.  (sp)

Monty ~ You are practically a neighbor.  I was on I-65 through Bartholomew County last evening.  Columbus is a wonderful city.  I have been on their tour. Great city.

Larry ~ That is sad new about your granddaughter.  Ivalou's daughter gave birth to her youngest and was having headaches afterwards as well.  She had a tumor behind one of her eyes.  She was told that the strain of giving birth aggravated the tumor...probably was present for years.  But she had it removed and all if fine now.  I will pray that your granddaughter will have the same results.  Those kiddies need their mommy.  Edit:  Out Senoir pastor knows Minister Joe Wright.  And that is true...he did/does have guts.  Our pastor read this story to the congregation 6 years ago.

Where do I start?  The Easter Pageant at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, was outstanding.  Words aren't there to discribe this 'experience'.  Going east on I-64, the tour guide pointed out the church...
http://www.southeastchristian.org/index.cfm  The heading of this site is what we saw.  It was great being on a bus.  The driver drove up next to a door...door 16 (one has to surmise there were at least 16 doors, right?)  We got off the bus and went inside.  The hallway was wider than my home is wide!!!!!!!  On the left was a Book Store...huge store.  Then a library....huge library.  Then we walked into a gathering area....three stories high.  At the far end is stairs and two sets of escalators...yes, escalators.  In the middle was the Welcome center....a circle of low structure probably 20' in diameter! Along one wall, a small portion of the wall, was brochures of the church's ministries and missions they sponsor.  Their was a huge sitting area...larger than my house.  And of course, we had to go to the restrooms...wow!  A sitting area with plush furniture, and probably 40 stalls...a womans delight!  You went in one door and out another....less congestion!  

The doors to the sanctuary opened at 7 p.m.  We walked in.  I don't think I have ever been so large a room!  Stadium seating.  (I went to
http://www.southeastchristian.org/com_pressroom.cfm and clicked on 1/12/04  10th Annual Southeast Christian Easter Pageant to read about the pageant).  Yes, there were live camels, donkeys, doves, sheep, goats...awesome.

The first thing I noticed when walking in was the stage was a cityscape of Jerusalem with stairs going up 2-3 stories on both sides.  Inside the cityscape was stories also.  Doors which the performers entered and exited.  Walkways and stairs which the performers walked...on both sides.  In the middle looked like the temple with stairs going up to the temple.  The santuary is huge!  Two balconies!!!  Two levels on the lower floor.  We were seated in the second row in the middle of the the second level.  Above in the middle was three overhead screens.  All showing the same projections so you could see the closeup sitting anywhere in the santuary!  There were probably 60 or more spotlights that I could see...hard telling how many there were that I couldn't see.  The sound system was outstanding.  It was getting close to 7:30 p.m.  Ushers were telling the people in the row of seats in front of us to keep your feet back.  Why?  I wondered.

The pageant started.  I soon found out why their feet needed to be back.  People and animals came down every aisle.  Donkeys, sheep, 2 huge, large camels.  All the people were singing and acting.  Carrying food, baskets, all dressed in the period clothing.  I couldn't look around fast enough.  I wanted to take it all in.  Impossible to see everything.  Plus on stage were numeral people singing and acting there.  Mary heard the angel telling her she was going to become pregnant with the Christchild.  How?  She is still a virgin and wasn't going to marry Joseph for awhile yet.  Then Mary and Joseph sang a song.  Wonderful voices.  The overhead screen allowed you to see their expressions up close.  And that was just the first few minutes.  Baby Jesus was a live baby...looked to be only a couple of months old.  

The pageant lasted 2 hours and 5 minutes...no intermission.  There were 4 angels that came down
from the ceilings...brave ladies to drop through a 2' x '2 square on a wire...not once, but twice during this performance.  Plus the center of the stage turned 180° and the scenery was different.  Special affects were outstanding.  Fire, lightening, earthquake.  Twice doves
were released and flew to exactly where they were suppose to fly.  Animals were very well trained.  It was great to hear a little lamb cry.  Makes my heart smile now when I think of it.  Awesome when Jesus was riding a donkey and passed right in front of me...if I stood and reach over the person in front of me, I could have touched Jesus or the donkey.  The kids were great...such wonderful actors and actresses.  

The stage turned so many times, I lost count and each time the scenery was different.  What an amount of background crew they must have had.  The pageant ended with what was suppose to be the ascension...which something was wrong...the wires dropped down from the ceiling but Jesus didn't put his arms through the loops to ascend up.  Don't know what happened.  Someone in our group asked a 'Roman soldier'.  He didn't know what was wrong but said, it wouldn't happen again!

We left the santuary and in the huge gathering area was all the performers AND animals.  I wish I had petted a lamb...they are so cute.

The bus was in the same place when we walked out door 16.  I have heard this stadium seats from 12,000 to 18,000.  There really wasn't any congestion.  The bus got out on the road without stopping except at the stop light.  Awesome night.  Simply awesome.  I was in bed by 1 a.m.

March 6 & 7, this church had a weekend attendance of 21,601 with 11,069 attending Bible classes.  General fund contributions that weekend was $565,077.84 and $228,496.60 was for the building fund.  There was 51 new
members.  

Mind boggling, isn't it????

My bus ride and ticket to the pageant cost $38.  We ate at Cracker Barrell before going to the pageant.  Would I do it again?  In a heartbeat!!!

I'm far from being an authority on "love your enemy."   Personally, I've been taught that to "Love your enemy" is not the kind of love we have for our Lord, family members, and friends.  The "Love your enemy" is our not wanting to see our enemies go to hell, and to love them in a way that we will, will try to, do, and want, to witness our Lord to them.  I do not love terrorist who willingly kill the innocent.  My kind of love is warmth, sweetness, kindness, closeness, desire to please, forgiveness, etc.  My kind of love is free, but with limitations.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured heaven
with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed

We must be concerned with the person and character of God, not the
promises. Through promises we learn what God has willed to us, we
learn what we may claim as our heritage, we learn how we should pray.
But faith itself must rest on the character of God.

Is this difficult to see? Why are we not stressing this in our
evangelical circles? Why are we afraid to declare that people in our
churches must come to know God Himself? Why do we not tell them that
they must get beyond the point of making God a lifeboat for their
rescue or a ladder to get them out of a burning building? How can we
help our people get over the idea that God exists just to help run
their businesses or fly their airplanes?

God is not a railway porter who carries your suitcase and serves you.
God is God. He made heaven and earth. He holds the world in His hand.
He measures the dust of the earth in the balance. He spreads the sky
out like a mantle. He is the great God Almighty. He is not your
servant. He is your Father, and you are His child. He sits in heaven,

Hi Everyone...

This is the third time I've started a post to you all.  Just constant interruptions.  I had my Avon order come and then had to re-boot my computer and lost everything I had written.

Ria, I wish the best for your husband.  Jack suffered from "sleep apnea" and was scheduled to get his machine to help him through the nights the week after he passed away.  I'm sure that he should have had it a long time before this but I think that maybe they thought that his problem was only his heart and kidneys.  This was an added problem.


Great that you manage to get in here each day, Jenny!  I expect that you're in the middle of nice spring weather now.


Kathy, yes, soon it will be St. Patrick's Day.  When we lived in Ireland, this was never celebrated.  It is now but it was really started by the Irish in New York.   :o

Yes, Janet, I was colouring with Rebecca for hours yesterday.  Then we all watched the movie Andrew brought from the library--The Walton's.  It was such a good story-line in this one.  Rebecca and I made a couple of little loaves of Irish Wheaten Bread too that we ate up completely while they were here.  Yes, a lovely visit and unexpected.  I think that you should help with the Care Home where your mother is with their Newsletter.  I know you could do it.


Judy, "Word Studies" are good for certain types of Bible Study for sure.  But I also like to study complete books finding out about the background of the times when the book was written about and who the book was written to, etc.  I enjoy that as well.  I also enjoy studying various doctrines which take you through many books of the Bible at once.  What a great book and resource we have!

Hi Pat. The place I go in Virginia is Crystal Hill. From your freinds place you would go east to SOuth Boston and take 360 to Halifax VA. Go through Halifax to 626 and turn north for about 5 miles to the plant. It is a left turn into the entrance. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic and the drivers habits. to make the trip from your freinds place to where I deliver. Hope this helps.

Lee, you're right, and I never meant I would attempt to love those who are out to destroy all I hold dear the way I love family and friends.  But I haven't been willing to even "love" them enough to pray for them...........and I know we should.  That's all I meant.  ;)

You are right Pat that is a good way to study as well.  The problem I face is I get hung up with words and their meaning, relevance and where elst they occur in scripture.  It is a frustrating habit, but I really enjoy discovering new scripture (to me) as I go.

but then i think also how far must we go with love our enemy  but can we also love the persons who are doing
the great attacks that is very difficult as we are thinking on all the death people first in septembre in America now in Spain.  Who can give me answer on that problem  Love your Enemy  i can forgiven a lot people who have done something but that are little things  Since Sunday i am thinking about the words from our pastor Love you enemy so i love you

Ria, I find it interesting that you and I are both struggling with the same problem today, about how to "love our enemies!"  I think the Lord wants us to pray that their eyes will be opened to the truth and they will accept Jesus as Saviour.  I know He is not willing that ANY should perish, but that all come to the knowledge of the truth.  Maybe someone else can explain it better than I.

Pat, I do appreciate the prayers of CP for me when I was sick.  It was prayers which brought me through.  At one point I think the doctors had given up but they kept on and I did survive when odds were against me.  The Elders of our church came to the hospital and prayed over me and many others.  Cornelia told me of a lady whose husband was also in Critical Care and she saw them gather around holding hands and praying.  She told Cornelia she wished she had people who would pray for her husband.  Of course Cornelia had them gather around again to pray for her husband.

Are you ready for yet another weather report from northeastern New York?  Well ready or not, here it is! ::)

There's a winter storm warning in effect for late tomorrow and into Wednesday!  They're only predicting from 6 to 10 inches, but say it will accumulate at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour tomorrow night.

I hope the robins haven't got here yet - they'll have a tough time finding food.   :-\  The red-winged blackbirds are back, but they'll be OK since they take advantage of the feeders.

Pat,  I was also taught another verse to the song "Jesus Loves Me" and I think it would be good to post the words here:

Jesus loves me when I'm good,
When I do the things I should,
Jesus loves me when I'm bad,
Even though it makes him sad.

I think often of those words. I know that if I am a distance away from Him, it's that I left Him, He did not leave me nor forsake me.

I got good news today. Although I've been very thankful to have Ralph for my boss these last 2 years (he's very supportive - a wonderful man), because of a company reorganization his supervision of me became impractical.

So, I was assigned Jim as my supervisor - a long time associate, coworker and friend. A fine Christian who prays both for me and with me. And his first "order" to his new employee??? You have carryover vacation time - be certain you take it before March 31st, please.

In fact, it was Jim who made it possible for the Cleveland office to set up the new job for me just as the old one was ending.

How thankful I am for the good supervisors I've had lately. Ralph's parting "gift" was an excellent appraisal that resulted in a nice raise.

And, Jim encouraged me to go to Ralph with IS-type questions, since he once supervised a 200-employee IS unit at a different job.

So, I not only have a wonderful supervisor now, but I still get to keep my association with Ralph, too. How blessed I am.

Janet, persevere with those photos.  Just because you forgot a step doesn't mean that you aren't to post them.  I forget steps all the time!  I just start over and everyone enjoys seeing them.  I haven't got to yours yet.  I've had to run some unexpected errands today and in the middle of it, my Avon order arrived and it's all over the living room and so I'm going to try to get some of it packed tonight.

Matt  11: 28 - 30  It was not so very long ago that my Aunt said that as a little girl going to Sunday School and being a farmers kid she thought that the verse made reference the yoke of an animal, but of course to-day she does know the true meaning.

Hi Everyone...I have just returned from a banquet that will kick off an EE seminar for Pastors.  Pastors arrive from different parts of the States and Canada to learn the EE presentation in 5 days.  It is very intense because ordinarily it would take 13 weeks and they have to learn it in 5 days.    I am taking off 2 days from work to be involved.   My job was to line up trainers to do demonstations for the Pastors.   I will do one demonstration myself on Wednesday.   There is food and lodgings and lots of teaching.

Tonight we heard from a Chinese girl who was telling us that EE is in China.   It is all done secretely in like underground situations because there would be punishment if anyone found out they were giving the gospel to anyone.  We also heard from a Chinese Pastor in Toronto who is so excited about EE because it has made him bold for the Lord.

Janet, I heard someone talk about liquid shark cartilige that cured cancer.   Apparently it surrounds the tumor so it is contained.   It is very expensive and the lady who came into my work said it came from Quebec.    Wondering whether it might help Beth.

This has been a profitable day.  I got a lot done.

Ria You were up late tonight!  Trouble sleeping?  I pray the Shepherd gives you rest.

Tonight we stopped at a grocery store so that John could pick up some supplies for the road.  As I waited I realized the post office next door was open where I could get an envelope weighed and nail.  So I stepped out of the car onto a patch of ice and promptly fell flat on my back, knocking my head a good one.  WOW it went so fast that I could not stop the fall at all.  I am now sore and stiff, with a sore hip.  I can just imagine what tomorrow is going to be like!

Well I am heading for bed.  See if I can relax some of these muscles.
