Morning Devotional...

He is the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 2:2

This word "propitiation" conveys two meanings--satisfaction and mercy.

The death of the Lord Jesus brought complete satisfaction to His Father. By the shedding of precious blood, sin's debt was fully met.

But we also, fallen creatures who accumulated the debt, are shown mercy! This is illustrated by the blood on the Mercy Seat in the Tabernacle, which covered the symbols of three of Israel's great national sins.

At the moment of the acclamation, "It is finished," sin was not just covered over but put away.
--Drew Craig

The judgment fell on Jesus' head,
By His shed blood sin's debt is paid;
Now justice can demand no more,
And mercy reaps her boundless store.

Colossians 1:13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Author:  William T. Sleeper, 1819-1904
Musician:  George C. Stebbings, 1846-1945

Out of my bondage, sorrow, and night,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into Thy freedom, gladness, and light,
Jesus, I come to Thee;
Out of my sickness, into Thy health,
Out of my want and into Thy wealth,
Out of my sin and into Thyself,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of earth's sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life's storms and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into the joy and light of Thy throne,
Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the peace of Thy sheltering fold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

9.30 a.m. U.K.

              Jesus I Come

Thank-you Pat for that apt devotional.  I had decided to have a special quiet time with Him today.  Just this one C.P. post today folks. I want to be quiet with Jesus., even doing the washing and cleaning I want to make those acts of Praise.  (P.D.L. is finally being absorbed)

Just as I am without one plea
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
sight, riches,healing of the mind,
yea all I need, in thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve:
because Thy promise I believe,
O lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am (Thy love unknown
has broken every barrier down)
now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
O lamb of God I come.

Just as I am, of that free love
the breadth, length, depth and height to prove,
here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come.

Mullet you were right about the temperature.  Hard to believe it was minus 30*C a month a go!

We are having a melting time now.  I have made sure the sump pump running.  Even so it is normal to have the basement floded between now and the total dissapearance of the snow.  Woohoo it rained last night.  Now if it stays a slow melt there will be little flooding oF the streams and rivers.

Have a good day

Good Morning All.

I do believe shutting out these kitties at night may be working.  I left the door open this morning...kind of in anticipation of the two coming to play on the bed...but they didn't.  I went back to sleep.  Inky came in and woke me but only with the purring....not her 'in my face' jester.  I love it.

Jerry is coming over today.  Tonight is Small Groups.  I told the hostess that I would bring something to help out in the snack department.  I am going to make Microwaved Caramel Corn later.  Hope some is leftover.... ::) ::)

Seeing 'The Passion' the second time really made an impact on me.  I dreamed about it last night.  Jesus died on the cross for mankind.  Nothing will ever equal that act of love.

Soni and Zach

I want to thank you for starting the folder on Home and Herbal remedies  because that is right up my alley and I have often thought of asking Pat to open a thread of that sort. Gilbert, Sarah and myself are quite knowledgable in this area. Both Gilbert and Sarah have studied Herbal Pharmacology and have taught me a lot. I have  a few books on it and what I don't have they do have. So  THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I also see that Zach has posted some of the dietary stuff.  I also have much information on the dietary  benefits off all  foods.

Sarah is also studying to be a nurse she is in her 2nd year  going toward her Masters Degree

OUCH! Soni, for that kick! ;) ;D  Really, I do not pay any attention to the number of posts I or anyone else have/has.  I just try to get all I want to say said in one post, but that is just me.  It doesn't bother me one way or the other!

But, Mullet, we are so happy you are participating so much, and congratulations on getting into the top 25!!  You are tops with me, for sure!  ::) :D

I must be thinking of what to pack for that trip to Texas with Beth, we are leaving Sunday.  I hope we can be home by Friday night, because the Health Fair is Saturday, and by going to that, Darrel and I can save several hundred dollars on blood tests and stuff.  We didn't know the date when she got her appointment for Texas. >:( :(  I doubt we can get home in time, as they said they want her there Mon.-Fri.

Etta Sue, I want to go see The Passion again, too.  It sure does stay in your mind, doesn't it?  And well it should!

Hi, Ria!  Glad you are down to only a band-aid now and can wear your shoes.  Not fun freezing your little toes!  :)

Boy, Soni, I can't wait to see your photos from that new camera!  If they get any better than you are already taking-----WOW!!

Pat, I have enjoyed going back to see some of the older photos.  I had forgotten about those flower ones Abby and I took, and some of them are really pretty! :o

I'm off to see if there are any new photos since yesterday.

Yes seeing the Passion the second time would be good.  The first time I saw the horror and gloty of the resurrection, the second time I would take in the details better.

Say Soni  what about I send you a Canadian Maple! ! !

Hi everyone.  I have finally read through all of the NEM postings since last Thursday and that is quite a job.

Ria, sure glad to hear that your toe is so much better and that you can now wear a shoe.

After coffee this morning I once again went to CompUSA about the external adapter replacement.  The tech came out and took it to be back and was back in a couple of minutes saying yes, it had gone bad.  Sure wouldn't have wanted them to believe me! :o  Anyway, they are ordering the replacement adapter, which apparently costs something like $100 and it will be a few days before they have it in.  This time I didn't have to leave anything with them so was able to bring my computer back home, not that I can use the laptop until I have the adapter, but at least I know it is safe here.

Today is Calvin Cove and I will leave in a few minutes to go and play the piano and sing with the older adult day-care folks.  It is always a highlight of my week as they do seem to enjoy it and I certainly enjoy it.
When I come back I will stop and vote as Georgia is in the Super Tuesday group.  My neighbor voted this morning and said he was the only one there to vote at the time he was there.

Sonja, by now I expect you are working with your new camera.  I looked at the link and don't think I have ever seen a 6.? megapixel camera.  That must be a very top of the line camera.  Know you are anxious to try it out.

Glad to see the comments about the Mel Gibson movie.  We will likely go to see it in a few days when the crowds die down.  It is obviously impacting folks.

Janet, do hope that Darrel is feeling much better today.  It sounds like you will have a long week in Texas next week.  Hope Beth gets great benefit from the week.

I have lots of things to catch up on so probably won't get back to post again today.  I haven't looked at any of the other boards other than NEM.

Larry, thank you for asking about Darrel.  He is feeling better today.  He thought he was all okay, until he started to do some things, and found out a few minutes exhausted him and he had to stop and rest.

We were looking at Digital cameras and discovered they now make an 11 megapixel and a 13 megapixel one!  They cost a bundle, though!  We are still pondering which one to buy, but I surely want to get aq new one before our trip in September!

Have fun, Soni!  Good thing it came today, or you would have been climbing the walls, and calling to find out WHY it didn't come today! (I think.)  ;)

Back to work, just came to look for some moulding for a job I have to do.  Ever tried to find a 3 to 4 inch wide moulding for a picture frame, in an off-white color?  Well, believe me---it ain't easy!  >:( :(  Every other color but that...........have to go call some of my other suppliers, see you later.

OOPS, forgot to tell you, Sonja---that is my very favorite Easter hymn.  If they fail to sing it on Eater Sunday I am SO disappointed, and feel it wasn't really Easter... :'(  But I discovered it will not play on my computer, I get a message about needing a disc or something???  :'( :'( :'(  They used to always play on here. ???

Pastoral Ministry: In Need of a Physician

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in
green pastures; He leads my beside the still waters. He restores my
soul....
--Psalm 23:1-3

Human nature being what it is, the man of God may soon adopt an air
of constant piety and try to appear what the public thinks he is.
The fixed smile and hollow tones of the professional cleric are too
well known to require further mention.

All this show of godliness, by the squeeze of circumstances and
through no fault of the man himself, may become a front behind
which the man hides, a plaintive, secretly discouraged and lonely
soul. Here is no hypocrisy, no intentional double living, no actual
desire to deceive. The man has been mastered by the circumstances.
He has been made the keeper of other people's vineyards but his own
vineyard has not been kept. So many demands have been made upon him
that they have long ago exhausted his supply. He has been compelled
to minister to others while he himself is in desperate need of a
physician.  God Tells the Man Who Cares, 115.

"Lord, I pray for pastors everywhere today who are indeed exhausted
and depleted. The task is so overwhelming and the demands so
extreme. Come today with a fresh breath of Your Spirit to refresh,
renew, and restore. Amen."

Chris, Thank you for that.  So many times I think we forget to pray for pastors and their wives.  No one knows the enormous load and responsibilty they bear unless they have seen it first hand (my brother is a preacher, and my best friend's husband is one).  If it were not for Jesus sustaining them daily hourly minutely, I think many would be crushed.  An awesome prayer that should be prayed often.

Greetings all!  I've just got caught up on yesterday and today and now it's time to put the finishing touches on supper.  Gene's going to a men's bible study tonight so we need to eat a little earlier than usual.

March came in like a lamb around here - 50's temperatures and some sun, some rain.  The snow is melting - in fact at the base of the trees you can actually see a bit of the ground!!! :o :o :o :o

Hi Folks,   tonight I am going back with my team to see ANYOLFI  who came to the Lord last Tuesday out in the hall of his apartment building.    Tonight his brother MOYSES will be there also.    Praying for another salvation.    As I posted last night, Anyolfi walked to the church on Sunday morning, came in and sat by himself.   Then Billy, my Jr. trainer saw him and sat with him.  I think he will be going to the youth Bible study this week.

Pray that Anyolfi will grow in the Lord and he will discover abundant life in Jesus Christ.   I will check in when I get home.   God Bless

Love Ruthie

We have a quiet day here.  It has been like spring with beautiful sunshine and the temperature has been up in the 60's.  Cornelia and I had our walk in the neighborhood this morning.  I am trying to walk for a mile each day but some days we don't get around to it.

I found advertisements for 8 and 11 pixel cameras.  I believe the 11 pixel cost around $8,000.00.  I decided not to buy one.

One of everyone's favorite passages is I Corinthians 13.

1 Cor 13:1-3
1   Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2   And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3   And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.  (NKJ)

Good to see everyone today.  We continue to enjoy our Bible reading each night.  We are up to the 9th chapter in Joshua.

I received this email from our cousin  in Toronto.  I think it is self explanitory.

Here's a message that will bring you chills. Have you ever felt the urge
to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said, "I'll pray for them later?"

Or has anyone ever called you and said, "I need you to pray for me, I have this need?"
Read the following story that was sent to me and may it change the way that
you may think about prayer and also the way you pray. You will be blessed by this.

A missionary on Furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan.

"While serving at a small field hospital in Africa, every two weeks I
traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies.
This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway
point. On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to
collect money from a bank, purchase medicine and supplies, and then begin
my two-day journey back to the field hospital.

Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had
been seriously injured I treated him for his injuries and at the same time
talked to him about the Lord.

I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident.

Two weeks later I repeated my journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was
approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I
carried money and medicines.

He said, 'Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing you
would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and
drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were
surrounded by 26 armed guards."

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle
campsite. The young man pressed the point, however, and said, 'No, sir, I
was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and
we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and
left you alone.'

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to
his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him
the exact day this happened.

The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted
told him this story:

"On the night of your incident in Africa, it was morning here and I was
preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray
for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in
this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. Would
all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?" The men who had met
together to pray that day stood up.

The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy
counting how many men he saw. There were 26."

This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves
in mysterious ways. If you ever hear such prodding, go along with it.
Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell.  I encourage you to
forward this to as many people as you know. If we all take it to heart,
we can turn this world toward God once again. As the above true story clearly
illustrates, "with God all things are possible." More importantly, how
God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.

After you read this, please pass it on and give God thanks for the
beautiful gift of your faith, for the powerful gift of prayer, and for
the many miracles He works in your own daily life...and then pass it on. Who says
God does not work in mysterious ways?

Thanks so much, Chris, for explaining the need for prayer for pastors and for providing that prayer.  As a pastor myself, I can certainly verify all that was said about the need for prayer.  Oh - not only pray, but minister to your pastor in love.  Just talk to him as you would any other brother or sister - he is one.  He needs you to exhort him, encourage him, even rebuke him.  Christ is the Pastor - that man you're dealing with is your brother.

I went to the Hospital and had my Mammogram and echocardiogram, all went smoothly. While I was there I went  to Visit Erin a sister who sings in the choir and is married to Willa's grandson. She had a C-section yesterday and delivered an 8lb. 9 oz. baby girl. Emma Nichelle (that is spelled right N not M) My Pastor and Judy were there; They are Aunt and Uncle to the baby's daddy. Erins mother was also there from Oregon.

Speaking of Oregon, I might be going up there in April to see Jane and Nita and some other SN'ers A bash.

That's all for now.

Al.............

Well said, and  from the heart.

Chris..........

Our church sent our pastor to Southern California this week to attend the pastor's conference at Grace Community Church.  There will be over 3800 pastors from not only the USA, but many other countries as well.   Their wives are scheduled to attend a seperate conference in an adjacent building.  The wives being so close to their husbands and their ministery, they  are often affected in other serious ways.  How difficult it would be for a pastors wife to constantly have to hold her husband up when he can be so very low.  His burdens become hers as well.   It's perhaps equated with being lonely in a crowd (The pastors).

I just came back from EE and visiting Anyolfi.   He will be going to the Youth Bible Study and while we were there he asked a lot of questions.   Hopefully we answered them all to his satisfaction.   I asked about his brother Moyses and he said that he was not ready yet to listen to the gospel.

There were other salvations on the other teams.  It has been a good night!

God Bless

You are so smart Zachery.
I think I like that green color that your name is in.

Troy had a reward banquet tonight that Mike, troy and I went to.  It was fun.  Troy got the most achievement award of the season and he got his first varsity patch.  Woohoo...I am so happy for him and very proud.  So is his dad.

I am heading to bed.
