Something to talk about...[/font]

Here's a question that maybe we could discuss in here today...

What do you think about cremation?
Should a Christian be cremated?  Or does it matter?
Is there scripture for or against it?

Morning Devotional...

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1:21

These words succinctly express Paul's spiritual autobiography.

Christ was the sum of all his desires. Physical death is the Christian's last enemy (1 Cor. 15:26), and by itself death is no gain.

It is our state after death that is gain. Paul wanted nothing out of life but to live for Christ, and nothing out of death but to be with Christ.

Death for the Christian is not a bereavement; it is a translation. I like what Patrick said of this text: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is more of Christ."

Are you genuinely living for Him?
--W. Ross Rainey

Living For Jesus (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/livingForJesus.mid)

Living for Jesus a life that is true;
striving to please him in all that I do,
yielding allegiance, gladhearted and free,
this is the pathway of blessing for me.

Refrain:
O Jesus, Lord and Savior,
I give myself to thee;
for thou, in thy atonement,
didst give thyself for me;
I own no other master,
my heart shall be thy throne,
My life I give, henceforth to live,
O Christ for thee alone.

Living for Jesus who died in my place,
bearing on Calvary my sin and disgrace,
such love constrains me to answer his call,
follow his leading and give him my all.

Refrain

Living for Jesus wherever I am,
doing each duty in his holy hame,
willing to suffer affliction or loss,
deeming each trial a part of my cross.

Refrain

Living for Jesus through earth's little while,
my dearest treasure, the light of his smile,
seeking the lost ones he died to redeem,
bringing the weary to find rest in him.

Refrain

A BIG welcome to Rachel and Neal... Wow... We're getting a lot of new people in here. This is great. Anyone decided to pick up "A New Kind of Christian" yet?

So I working on doing some monthly scrapbook ideas for my new website. Just doin some fun hang out shots with friends. Nothing too special but I saw one of my friends doing it on his web page and it looked like fun.

Also helping some friends book some tour dates for a West Coast tour and they want me to go on tour with them. I'd be gone for a week and take tour photos and put them into a scrapbook... We'll see what happens.

Other than that I have really been working on some ideas for new photos as well as looking for props, trying to find models, and designing flyers to find new talent to help with my photography (hairdressers, make up artists, fashion designers, etc).

LARRY i love always your writings but my husband has still problems that he has no work more. I think every thing is going to soon. So has he work and 3 days later no more. I think we must him give time.

In Holland 75% have a cremation when they are death. IN Holland and specially in the great city's in no place more for cemetry's. Also my first husband have had a cremation but he has a little urn grave. I also shall have when i am gone a cremation and my urn is then also coming in the little urngrave by
my first husband. The churches in Holland have there no problems with. When my first husband has had his cremation there have been 5 pastors also from other churches because he was in the church counsil and he had a lot contact with the others pastors. They all have been.On his cremation there have been 200 people but that want i not my cremation will happen in
silence after his cremation a people have promised me to come soon. But i have never some one seen. It is so easy to promise
something. But is happen never. That has me upset in that time
so now i go in silence only when i then have family and my dear friends.

There are coming problems when the old Queen will have here bury in the large state tomb March 30.
On this moment here husband is not feeling good.
psychical and corporality but he is doing everything so that he can go but it is not sure he also is 92 years old.
One son in law from the Old Queen is in th hospital he has had an operation on his back. The wife of own of the sons of Queen Beatrix has just get a baby we must wait how she is on March 30. And there are family problems with one granddaughter from the Old
Queen. So you can see problems in the we not alone in the familys also in the Royal familys are problems.
Today she is going to an other palace till today she was in here own home there she is also embalm.
But today she is going to a palace in DEN HAAG then canthe government first and then the people take farewell from here.

Jeremiah 31 : 3-4
The Lord to us in the past,
saying: I have loved you with an
everlasting love; I will build you up again.

    A BEACON OF HOPE

Treasure the memories of all God has done
in the past to sustain and restore us...
Call them to mind like a beacon of hope,
always shining with promise before us.

Now i must hurry i go a view hour to the nursinghome.

LOVE and PRAYERFULLY FOR YOU ALL

Late start this morning, so I will keep it short.

I am so glad that the promises of Christ in John chapter 14 are there for us.  "I go to prepare a place for you... " so that we will be with Him in eternity and also, His promises of never leaving us alone.  We have his Holy Spirit to be our helper and teacher.  We only need to be careful not to greive or hinder the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

So my prayer for today is that I be more sensitive to the working of the Holy Spirit in my life each moment of each day.

Keep the faith and see the Sonshine in life!
Have a good day, everyone.

:D

Before I start:  Welcome NEAL & RACHEL.  You will find that you are amongst friends here.

ON TO THE TOPIC:  Cremation...Yes or No?

My opinion of cremation is slowly changing.

I used to think that I didn't want that, now I don't think it will matter that much.  With the way funeral's have changed, what happens next doesn't matter.

You can be laid out and people can see you and then you can be put in the ground whole or in ashes.

In the USA, if you are a veteran and want the government issue marker, you have to own a burial plot....you don't have to be in it, just own it.

So, knowing what I know about eternity..it really doesn't matter, I'm gonna get a new spiritual body.

Good Mornin g. Again Pat thank you for the links. I think is is great that CNN of all people is reporting on the Sign Language translation of the Bible. Also I was unaware that ME is also CFS. On Eagles Wings is a lovely web site. The Frog graphic is so cute. How often do we feel that way in the morning.

Ria Good Morning, I suppose your TV stations are full of the news on the Old Queen these days. WE are always fascinated by the news about royalty.

Cremation: Well my mother as cremated and her ashes are in a little place just for Urns.  At one time I had a hand out from church all about why we shouldn't be cremated. I don't know what happened to it.  Personally I prefer not to be cremated. I do know that fire has always been the way of purification and also of sacrificing animals. It is confusing to me. Fire is associated with hell, too.

At the price of funerals today going  ever upward, many families can not afford to have thier loved ones put to rest any other way than cremation. So whatever my  son decides will be alright with me. WE will get new bodies anyway when we get to heaven. in Israel they put only the bones in the ossuaries (did I spell that right) and they are above ground.

Am I alone?  I keep hearing how much money the movie, 'The Passion of the Christ' is making and the negative views of that much money being made.  Me?  Well, each time I hear how much the movie is making, I think.....YEAH!  The more money it makes means more people are viewing the movie!  YEAH!!!!!  I delight in thinking how Hollywood is eating crow...and quite often, too.  I can't wait to get to heaven to find out what Jesus thinks of his portrayal on screen.  I just know that many more people will be in heaven someday because of this movie.  And that is another....Yeah!!!!!

Laundry day here today.  Need to sweep or throw out grass seed on the carpets... ::)  Then totally relax... ???...whatever that is!!

Pat Your grafic of the frog is cute.  Shows how I feel today.

The girls are straightening their room so I am taking some undisturbed time on the puter.

Welcome to our newcomers! ! ! ;D

John will be home tomorrow night.  I am looking forward to that.  He has said he will help me get rid of some books our of the library I have.  I will take them to a used book store.  Larry these are craft books and the like so nothing for here!

We have french, art and Karate today.  Jay the Karate teacher takes all the meditation and focuses on Jesus Christ.  He is focuses the minds of the children he teaches on our Saviour, I am so impressed.  He leaves in April for Japan to teach english as a second language for a year.  Then when he comes back the lessons will resume.

I got an email this week and it was 21 Wise Sayings.  Here are two.

The best way to get even is to forget.

Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death.

Have you forgotten what that person has done to you yet?  Forgetfulness is possible, contrary to what some people believe.

NEM sure does feeed our faith.  Are our doubts starving yet?

WellI am off will be back tonight.

I agree!  Of our Lord could make our complex bodies out of nothing originally, then He certainly would have no problem giving us our new bodies when He comes!  So I don't think it matters whether we bury them or cremate them now.  Besides, we're helping to care for the earth when we cremate (I think).

(Click to hear music)

Author:  John Fawcett, 1740-1817
Musician:  Hans G. Nageli, 1773-1836
Arr. By Lowell Mason, 1792-1872

And the multitude of them that believed
were of one heart and of one soul:
neither said any of them that ought of the things
which he possessed was his own;
but they had all things common.
Acts 4:32

Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like that to that above.

Before our Father's throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.

We share each other's woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.

When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.

This glorious hope revives
Our courage by the way;
While each in expectation lives,
And longs to see the day.

From sorrow, toil and pain,
And sin, we shall be free,
And perfect love and friendship reign
Through all eternity.

Hi everyone.  I had hoped to get here earlier today but find the morning got away from me.  I had to do more grocery shopping as didn't have time to stop last evening after my doctor's appointment as we had plans to meet our friends and go out to dinner and I didn't leave the doctor's office until 4 pm.  We went about 20 miles to the place we wanted to eat and found the place was closed yesterday.  Fortunately it was a beautiful day and still sunny so we enjoyed the ride in the country-side.  We went to another place close to home owned by the same people as the place that was closed and had a delicious meal.  Then went to the friends house and plays games for awhile.

Pat, I loved that graphic and thought the fast paced hymn that followed it was sure appropriate.  Both eyes would be open with the peppy tune.

Congratulations Sonja on your prize at DPC.  I liked that picture very much.

Etta Sue, at least every dollar that "The Passion" brings in is a dollor that is not going to the filth mongers that make some of these terrible movies that are totally amoral.  God works in wondrous ways and I have to feel we are seeing his work in this situation.

It is good to see the new folks here and Rachael it is nice to have another Georgian here in CP.

I have lots of webpage work to do so guess I had better be brief today and get with it.

Hello, Friends!  My connection to the internet was down for about 24 hours.  The repairman finally came this afternoon and took his trusty wire cutters, cut out a hunk of the cable and spliced back in.  So I hope we are back online for a long time now.  I missed being able to check in and see what was happening.

The Pledge of Allegiance case if being argued in the Supreme Court today.  Many prayers are needed for our country during these dark days.

Welcome to PromiseKpr and Rachel!  We are so glad to have you with us!

Etta Sue, I am with you!  I am very happy Mel Gibson is being rewarded for risking $80 million of his own money to make The Passion, and I also agree with Larry that it is good to see a GREAT movie making the money instead of garbage.  The movie will be here beginning on April 2 and I intend to see it at least two more times.

I need to check my email, see you later!

My are we ever a quiet bunch today.  Here it is 7:45 pm eastern and we are only on page 2.  Perhaps I will start page 3? ???

We had a good day in North Bay.  The kids are getting better at their french.  Art is mainly a fun time of childrens chatter and light hearted learning.  Janet I wish I had your painting skill, they would really learn then.  I enjoy watching the Christian friendships that are being formed.

Here are 4 more from the list a Mature 21.

3.     God wants spiritual fruit not, religious nuts.........

4.     Some marriages are made in heaven, but they ALL have to be maintained on earth........

5.     Unless you can create the Whole universe in 5 days, then perhaps giving "advice" to God isn't such a good idea.

6.     Some people wear their halos much too tight.....

It is good to see each one day.  Also a welcome to the new members.

We had a busy day today.  We went over to St. Petersburg and had lunch with some SeniorNetters and that took all morning and most of the afternoon.  I didn't get in my swim today.

I agree that cremation or burial, either one would be all right.  Cornelia and I plan to be buried.  We already have a place reserved in a family cemetery and we have prepaid for the funeral so it won't be any expense for our children.  Also the price can't go up for the funeral.  As has been pointed out we are going to get a new body anyway and I am glad because this old one is about worn out.  And the new one never will.  Praise God.

1Thes 4:14-18
14   We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
15   According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16   For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17   After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Marilyn, I like the new picture.  Actually you look a lot younger but I know it was recently made because I think I saw it in the mini bash. ;D

Reports of robins in the area - but they'd have a really hard time finding anything to eat in our back yard.  It's still completely covered with snow.  Even though it did hit 50 this afternoon.   :-\  The next few days are supposed to be at least in the 40's so maybe we'll have some robins soon.  I'ts almost time to put out the dryer lint and some pieces of bright colored yarn for nests, too.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name.

Jeanne what a wonderful idea to put out the dryer lint and bright colored yarn for the nests. you have given me some ideas too.

I already have a bird feeder, and a hummingbird feeder hanging from the eaves on the front porch, then I throw out little pieces of bread almost every day for the  birds who don't come to the feeders.

I usually see the robins on the ground so I have thown some blueberries and more birdseed on the ground for them. They don't seem to like the blueberries.

Yesterday I bought a pot of lavender and one of sage and some basil seeds, I have them on the front porch too. I don't want to put anything in the back that the dogs might destroy or spray on.

There is a nice little place for a garden but The dogs have used it and I don't want to plant anything there. So I will garden in pots.  I am so looking forfward to be able to grow a few things this year. For all those years (10) in the desert I couldn't grow anything.

Yes Papa John that photo was taken last week, thank you for the compliment.

Marilyn You look like a teenager in this new picture!

Papa John, I understand your feeling your body wearing out, but you still have a lot of wisdom to impart to a lot of family and here on CP.  We pray for you.

Well it is getting late, I am going to sign off and spend time with Melaura.

Night all

Welcome to all of our new comers.

I have enjoyed listening to all of the music as well, I will sure miss it when I shut down for the night.

Yes Mel Gibson has done something so very wonderful in the making of the film and the majority of the folk are so very thankful for his rewards.

Marilyn I like your new picture.

Zachery: Please do not forget to return. Your youth makes us feel young again.

Hi all...thought I'd drop by to say "hi"!  I'm over at a friends home taking care of her mother so I'm not at my own computer.

Marilyn..I really like your new picture.  Wish I could take a picture and take 30 years off! hahah

This weekend I'm planning a photo trip to Caddo Lake along with some folks from WebAperature and Creative Photography.  We know each other from the web so it will be fun to finally get to meet them and trade photography secrets!   ;D  We'll be staying the weekend so I hope we'll get some smashing photos!

My job isn't keeping me very busy, so I'm looking again.  Anybody got some leads let me know.  heheh!
