Morning Devotional...

And the Lord said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
Exodus 4:19

How frustrating it is when we are attempting to fulfill certain tasks in life that we feel the Lord has directed us to, and there seem to be delays.

But take note of this passage. God always has reasons for His delays. Moses waited forty years, but by then all his main enemies in Egypt were dead.

Remember that God's delays are not always His denials, and that His timing is always perfect.
--Brian Russell

"His will be done," we say with sighs and trembling,
Expecting trial, bitter loss, and tears;
And then how doth He answer us with blessings,
In sweet rebuking of our faithless fears.

Thanks everyone for your prayers... My mom's surgery went well... they had to take a bone chip out of her heel as well as put pins into her ankle which will be there for five to six months. She is staying overnight as the last time she had surgery she had an allergic reaction to the anesthsia (spelling??). She will come home tomorrow morning. Spent way too much time at the hosptial 7 AM to 8:15PM... I felt live I was living there today!!!  :P

I thought that I would have a lot of time to read "A New Kind of Christian" today while I was at the hospital, but I spent more time worrying or doing other things... writing down ideas for new photo shoots, drawing, but mostly praying that God would take away my worry. I think I got a whole page read of the book, which I don't remember much of.

Well that's my day... Thanks again for everyone's prayers....

Pat, thank you for the good devotional this morning.

Janet, I am so happy that Beth finally got her approval for Social Security.

Marilyn, I am so sorry to hear about your friend Bryan's son.  It is so sad when a youngster loses his life in an accident like that.  I ask God to bless this family in their grief.

Greg, we hope your mother has a good recovery.

Hello Ria, it is always good to see you every morning.

I wonder if someone can tell me what happened to Jenny from England?

Yesterday we walked on the beach and the tide was way in and we had to walk in the soft sand and it was difficult.  I am a little sore today.  Tomorrow we come to the end of our second week here in vacation land.  Our youngest daughter, Rachel with Martin her husband and their youngest son, David will come at least for a few days.

Rom 8:35-39
35   Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
36   As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
37   No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38   For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39   neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Good Morning to  you all....
What a blessed day it is here in Guelph today....the rain is coming down and the temp. is very mild.....+15c to be exact....and to me ....that spells  S P R I N G!!!! well at least the beginning of spring....

Just a little quote from A.W.Tozer...."The things that are closest to our hearts are the things we talk about, and if God is close to yoru heart....you will talk about Him!!"

Well I must also tell you all that at this time....I or we feel as a family that at this time....it is very necessary for us to drop the internet from our household....our money is very tight right now and we are trying to cut costs in as many areas as we can.....and I am very sad and sorry to be leaving here...this blessed place of fellowship....which I must say is a great place to be to learn and to be with others of a like mind...
I will miss you all very much ....and I do intend to keep Pat up to date on all the wedding plans....and so on.....so.....at this time I am saying to goodbye to you all and I pray that you all send me a bit of news through Pat..... so.....may God be with you all and richly bless you as you have all been such a blessing to me.
Paulette.

Paulette - we're certainly going to miss you!  If you can possibly get to a public library that has an internet connection, then please do that once in a while.

Judy/John - wonderful new picture!

Papa John - I've had correspondence with Jenny.  She feels that she must budget her time better, and, since she has other internet connections, she feels that she simply cannot maintain this one as well.

I am praying for those who are ill or have friends/family that are ill, for those who have lost loved ones or have friends/family that have lost loved ones and for those who have left Christian Photograhers.  May all of you find comfort in God's loving hands.

And praises sure goes out to Beth and Janet.  It has been a long time coming...God's will.

And I thank those of you who have commented on my profile photo.  Self made...you can probably tell... ::)

Today it is nice and warm, 58°, but raining out.  I can hear the flowers pushing through the soil and hear the grass growing.  I sure hope the cost of gas goes down before having to fill my gas containers for the lawn mower.  I filled the car up last evening at $1.78.9 a gallon.  I don't think I have ever put in $18.00 at one time in my car and I wasn't on empty!!

Etta Sue I love your new picture.  Looks really good.

Didn't sleep well last night.  Only sparotic.  so today my eyes feel like sandpaper.  Interesting question, How do our eyes know what sandpaper feel like?

The melting of snow is really going fast.  There are larg muddy patches.  UG this is a dirty time of year, it will be so much better when the wind dries everything.

Well I have uniforms to iron for the girls,  Melaura has an inspection on Sunday I think, so It needs to be done well.

Cheerio for now

Hi everyone.  Lots of things happening in the lives of the CP family since yesterdad.

Liz, certainly sorry to hear of Al's passing although know he will be much better off than the suffering he has experienced for so long.

Marilyn, so sorry to hear of the death of the young man.  It is hard enough to accept the death of an elderly person but at least they have had a lifetime while the young person's life was so short.

Paulette, certainly sorry to hear that you need to be away from the Internet but sure all of us who have the responsibility for familes understand that we must set priorities as to where we spend our money and Internet access certainly isn't essential.

JudyB, sorry to hear that Jake isn't doing well.  I agree with you on how dirty things look as snow melts and before things green up.

Etta Sue, our gas prices are up to $160.9 for regular unleaded, which is a new high for Georgia.  We don't have as many state taxes on gas as a lot of other states.  I do think we are being taken for a ride by the oil companies.

Soni, I did get to the "Y" at 6:25 this morning to walk as the Friday men's coffee is at 7:30.  Where did you get that picture of me?  Didn't know I was so round.

Al, I was thinking of the same thing if the libraries in Canada have internet connections available to the public.  All of our libraries around here have access.  When I was having trouble a few weeks ago I stopped by the library a couple of time to get access.

Papa John, I really don't like to walk in soft sand and I know what you were talking about.  It takes a lot of energy.

Ria, I sure hope that the chicken disease doesn't get to the USA as we eat lots of chicken and it is about the only reasonably priced meat now on the market.  Fish used to be fairly inexpensive but no more.

Gregg, glad to hear your mother came through the surgery well.  I sure know what you mean about how tiring it is to spend a lot of time waiting in the hospital, especially when someone is awaiting or in surgery.  It isn't easy to concentrate when our minds are on our loved one.

Janet, I am so happy to hear that the battle for social security disability is finally over for Beth.  Know she must be greatly relieved and hope the back payment will help her get caught up on the bills that keep coming.  Know you and Darrell must be greatly relieved.  Hope her tests today go well.

Eddie, I couldn't agree with you more on the expenses of a funeral.

Bonesy, glad you are safely home.  JudyB, know you are glad when he is safely off the road even though he has to go again.

Nards, I understand how much time maintaining website can take as find I am always behind and I am retired so don't have to be away at work all day.  Hope your weekend gig goes well.

Chris, I have been enjoying the Tozar writing you have been posting as well as the beautiful photos with scripture verses.  I don't often comment on them but enjoy each one.

Carol, it seems like you just went to Arizona.  The time certainly goes quickly when you are having fun.

California's gas prices are the highest in the nation, right now here in McKinleyville it is $2.25 for regular and goes up from there. We have a lot of gas taxes here and thenthe smong controls also put restrictions on the gas, we have to have additives in the gas that  keeps the emissions down. It is ridiculous here. My gas tank is a 10 gallon tank so if i let it get empty it is $20.00 to fill it, but I never let it get empty.

Thanks Soni for bringing that verse in here today.   That's a very important one indeed.  I believe that as Christians, we must be willing to give up things that we love in order to follow Jesus.  But I don't feel that means necessarily that the Lord will make us do that.  I think that we must show the willingness to do that.   Daily, we must be willing to give up ALL for our Saviour.  It helps to realize just what He did for us when He died on Calvary's cross.

What do the rest of you think?

What does this verse mean to you?

Beth and I are home from Guymon, and her tests show everything to be normal.  She does have some irritation in her stomach, so a biopsy was taken of that and she may need a couple of weeks of antibiotics.

Thank you for praising God with us re the SS Disability.  Yes, Larry, it is a tremendous relief!

I think I need a bit of lunch and then a nap.  I'm not used to getting up at 5:00 AM.

I will come back for another visit later.

Marilyn, I'm not that great with the "converter" thingies but I think that right now our gas prices are something like $3.04 CAD for an American gallon.

Now, I guess I have to figure out what $3.04 is in US $$$

HAHAHA!  All this high finance stuff isn't my thing!

With regard to the verse that Soni brought here today, I was thinking about this hymn...

Is "Jesus" the sweetest name you know?

Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/jesus-is-the-sweetest-name-i-know.mid)
(Click to hear music)

Thy Name is as ointment poured forth.
Song of Solomon 1:3

Words & Music: Lela B. Long, 20th Century

There have been names that I have loved to hear,
But never has there been a name so dear
To this heart of mine, as the Name divine,
The precious, precious Name of Jesus.

Refrain

Jesus is the sweetest name I know,
And He's just the same as His lovely Name,
And that's the reason why I love Him so;
Oh, Jesus is the sweetest name I know.

There is no name in earth or heav'n above,
That we should give such honor and such love
As the blessèd Name, let us all acclaim,
That wondrous, glorious Name of Jesus.

Refrain

And some day I shall see Him face to face
To thank and praise Him for His wondrous grace,
Which He gave to me, when He made me free,
The blessèd Son of God called Jesus.

I just looked out my window, and it's started to snow!!!  About 1/4 hour ago it was sunny.  Weird.  The ski-bums should like this.  IT'S TURNING TO HAIL OR SOMETHING, and it's starting to make noise.  In Ottawa I forgot how strange the weather can be in the mountains.

London, Ont                        66.1 - 79.9 litre
Hamilton(Burlington), Ont:  70.8 - 80.9 litre
Toronto, Ont                       72.8 - 81.5 litre

Detroit area 1.62 - 1.95 gallon

verrrry interesting!

Pastoral Ministry: Public Reading of Scripture

Til I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
--1 Timothy 4:13

Of course we of this generation cannot know by firsthand experience
how the Word of God was read in other times. But it would be hard to
conceive of our fathers having done a poorer job than we do when it
comes to the public reading of the Scriptures. Most of us read the
Scriptures so badly that a good performance draws attention by its
rarity.

It could be argued that since everyone these days owns his own copy
of the Scriptures, the need for the public reading of the Word is
not as great as formerly. If that is true, then let us not bother
to read the Scriptures at all in our churches. But if we are going
to read the Word publicly, then it is incumbent upon us to read it
well. A mumbled, badly articulated and unintelligent reading of the
Sacred Scriptures will do more than we think to give the listeners
the idea that the Word is not important....

We should by all means read it, and we should make the reading a
memorable experience for those who hear.  The Next Chapter After
the Last, 27.

"Lord, as I read the Scriptures publicly, I am both declaring the
very Word of God Himself and drawing people into an experience of
worship. Help me never to take that lightly or address it
carelessly. Amen."

I'd like to urge you all to go to <Gaspricewatch.com>.  You'll find the news there of what the prices are accross the US.  You can (and should) also sign a petition to a US Senator about it.

Thanks Chris for that fantastic writing from the pen of Dr. Tozer.  What a wonderful writer and preacher he was!

One of the favorites on CP through this year has been this hymn with the tune "The Rose".  Maybe some of your newer people would like to sing it to this tune...

Tune:  The Rose

Traditional Tune:  Charles C. Converse, 1832-1918 (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/whatafriendwehave.mpga)

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

For those of you who really like looking at photos of various places besides those that we have on our site, let me encourage you to register at...

Photo-Sense (http://www.photo-sense.co.uk/news.php)

The very first competition opened there today and at present people are voting on the photos.

Neil (Tragicharpy on Christian Photographers) has done a nice job setting up this new site.

Good evening everyone.  I've been getting behind here the last few days.  :-[

During lent we have a luncheon every Wednesday in a different church in town and this week it was ours.  I helped serve and clean up and when I got in the car to start home I suddenly realized...  I didn't have any lunch!  :D  But the kitchen and fellowship hall were nice and clean.  ;D

Last night I had a Village Planning Board meeting that lasted a good bit longer than usual and then up early for work today.  The days are just flying by.

OHHHHH, NO!  Soni.  I have Norton automatically isolate the virus when it comes in.

Hope you don't have it.

That was so weird Pat.  I don't have a virus.  I wonder why it kept shutting down.  I would get on to CP and it would shut down within seconds. hmm...it is doing fine now.

That's so good, Soni.  I'm glad.  Not sure why that was happening.

I don't think that Norton would even let you click on a virus.  I know that I can't.

Well I am ready for bed. Yes I know it is very early but thats' ok I'm not going anyplace and no one is coming over here.
I have a turkey in the oven that I am going to cook on low over night. I made homemade cranberry sauce out of dried cranberries. Why you ask? Well I have invited Sarah's parnets over for dinner tomorrow, we will be eating at about 3 pm. I have had this turkey in the freezer since Christmas and it is about time I cooked it.

I have had a nice shower and shampooed my hair, got my jammies on and am relaxing now. Been a busy day and tomorrow is my Domestic engineering day around here. Already did all the laundry.

Ursula It sure is good to see you back. Where are you living now? I remember that you were moving. Now lets see plenty of new photos from you. :o

We have a busy morning tomorrow.  Chandraya will be dancing at the Childrens festival at 11:00 and 12:00, but she has to be there 30 minutes early to get ready.  You would think she would be nerves but she is excited to dance on stage.

Night all.  Sorry Pat not everyone got into that verse like we did.  Maybe the next time.  ;D

Have a good night!

This has been a long day.

The scenery was awesome.  AAt 3:00 we were heading to John's work and the warm temperatures was causing a fog all through the hills and trees.  The fog was so beautiful and layered in the trees.  What you see when the camera is at home!!!!

We went out to dinner tonight.  If you have an East Side Mario's near you try their Italian Wedding soup.  It is so good.  because we ordered an entree, we could have bottomless soup.  The second bowl was as good as the first.

Well I am tired tonight, so I am going off line, I will leave the connection in case John wants to post.

Night all

VIRUS or COOKIE:  My ISP (Comcast) told me that my problem might be a cookie from an internet site visit that was causing my disconnect problem.

Some websites have things in their sites that cause difficulties for you and maybe not others.

At the "Start" menu I went into Accessories, System Tools and Disc Cleanup and follow directions...    Once I had eliminated the cookies..no more disconnect problem.

I must warn you, if your computer is old and you have not done this...it may take a long time to do. On my first computer, it took 23 hrs to complete.  I had never done it in over 1.5 yrs.

Now I do it once a month.  I also check the defrag and defrag every couple of months...sometimes even when it says that I do not need to defragment my hard drive.

The other thing you might want to do is "Reboot"...simply shut-off the power to your computer....AFTER you have saved anything you are working on.  One should always remember the cardinal rule:  "SAVE and SAVE often."  Wait at least 30 sec, then turn the power back on.

If you have difficulties or want to know more about "Why defragment your hard drive."  send me a private email  ebmcmurray@yahoo.com

Nite Nite
