Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

There is an interesting article in todays Detroit Free Press (Matt Helms column)  www.freep.com.  Matt lists a site for current gas prices in the USA & Canada.  www.gasbuddy.com

Postings are current as follows: Ontario 72 hrs & Detroit 60 hrs :
London, Ont                        66.1 - 79.9 litre
Hamilton(Burlington), Ont:  70.8 - 80.9 litre
Toronto, Ont                       72.8 - 81.5 litre

Detroit area 1.62 - 1.95 gallon

verrrry interesting!

Pastoral Ministry: Public Reading of Scripture

Til I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
--1 Timothy 4:13

Of course we of this generation cannot know by firsthand experience
how the Word of God was read in other times. But it would be hard to
conceive of our fathers having done a poorer job than we do when it
comes to the public reading of the Scriptures. Most of us read the
Scriptures so badly that a good performance draws attention by its
rarity.

It could be argued that since everyone these days owns his own copy
of the Scriptures, the need for the public reading of the Word is
not as great as formerly. If that is true, then let us not bother
to read the Scriptures at all in our churches. But if we are going
to read the Word publicly, then it is incumbent upon us to read it
well. A mumbled, badly articulated and unintelligent reading of the
Sacred Scriptures will do more than we think to give the listeners
the idea that the Word is not important....

We should by all means read it, and we should make the reading a
memorable experience for those who hear.  The Next Chapter After
the Last, 27.

"Lord, as I read the Scriptures publicly, I am both declaring the
very Word of God Himself and drawing people into an experience of
worship. Help me never to take that lightly or address it
carelessly. Amen."

Al Moak

I'd like to urge you all to go to <Gaspricewatch.com>.  You'll find the news there of what the prices are accross the US.  You can (and should) also sign a petition to a US Senator about it.

Pat

Thanks Chris for that fantastic writing from the pen of Dr. Tozer.  What a wonderful writer and preacher he was!

One of the favorites on CP through this year has been this hymn with the tune "The Rose".  Maybe some of your newer people would like to sing it to this tune...

WHAT A FRIEND
(Click to hear music)
Tune:  The Rose

Traditional Tune:  Charles C. Converse, 1832-1918

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

Good evening everyone.  I've been getting behind here the last few days.  :-[

During lent we have a luncheon every Wednesday in a different church in town and this week it was ours.  I helped serve and clean up and when I got in the car to start home I suddenly realized...  I didn't have any lunch!  :D  But the kitchen and fellowship hall were nice and clean.  ;D

Last night I had a Village Planning Board meeting that lasted a good bit longer than usual and then up early for work today.  The days are just flying by.

OHHHHH, NO!  Soni.  I have Norton automatically isolate the virus when it comes in.

Hope you don't have it.

That was so weird Pat.  I don't have a virus.  I wonder why it kept shutting down.  I would get on to CP and it would shut down within seconds. hmm...it is doing fine now.

Pat

That's so good, Soni.  I'm glad.  Not sure why that was happening.

I don't think that Norton would even let you click on a virus.  I know that I can't.

Well I am ready for bed. Yes I know it is very early but thats' ok I'm not going anyplace and no one is coming over here.
I have a turkey in the oven that I am going to cook on low over night. I made homemade cranberry sauce out of dried cranberries. Why you ask? Well I have invited Sarah's parnets over for dinner tomorrow, we will be eating at about 3 pm. I have had this turkey in the freezer since Christmas and it is about time I cooked it.

I have had a nice shower and shampooed my hair, got my jammies on and am relaxing now. Been a busy day and tomorrow is my Domestic engineering day around here. Already did all the laundry.

Ursula It sure is good to see you back. Where are you living now? I remember that you were moving. Now lets see plenty of new photos from you. :o

We have a busy morning tomorrow.  Chandraya will be dancing at the Childrens festival at 11:00 and 12:00, but she has to be there 30 minutes early to get ready.  You would think she would be nerves but she is excited to dance on stage.

Night all.  Sorry Pat not everyone got into that verse like we did.  Maybe the next time.  ;D

Have a good night!

This has been a long day.

The scenery was awesome.  AAt 3:00 we were heading to John's work and the warm temperatures was causing a fog all through the hills and trees.  The fog was so beautiful and layered in the trees.  What you see when the camera is at home!!!!

We went out to dinner tonight.  If you have an East Side Mario's near you try their Italian Wedding soup.  It is so good.  because we ordered an entree, we could have bottomless soup.  The second bowl was as good as the first.

Well I am tired tonight, so I am going off line, I will leave the connection in case John wants to post.

Night all

VIRUS or COOKIE:  My ISP (Comcast) told me that my problem might be a cookie from an internet site visit that was causing my disconnect problem.

Some websites have things in their sites that cause difficulties for you and maybe not others.

At the "Start" menu I went into Accessories, System Tools and Disc Cleanup and follow directions...    Once I had eliminated the cookies..no more disconnect problem.

I must warn you, if your computer is old and you have not done this...it may take a long time to do. On my first computer, it took 23 hrs to complete.  I had never done it in over 1.5 yrs.

Now I do it once a month.  I also check the defrag and defrag every couple of months...sometimes even when it says that I do not need to defragment my hard drive.

The other thing you might want to do is "Reboot"...simply shut-off the power to your computer....AFTER you have saved anything you are working on.  One should always remember the cardinal rule:  "SAVE and SAVE often."  Wait at least 30 sec, then turn the power back on.

If you have difficulties or want to know more about "Why defragment your hard drive."  send me a private email  ebmcmurray@yahoo.com
