Morning Devotional...The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold [down] the truth in unrighteousness. Romans 1:18
All men everywhere and in every age have had truth from God in some form:
in creation (Ps. 19:3);
in the law (Rom. 10:5);
through their consciences (1 Tim. 4:2); or
by the gospel (Rom. 1:16).
Having truth is a great blessing, but acting contrary to it brings down the wrath of God. All humankind will be judged according to their response to the light they had.
Have you heard the gospel message?
Then fearfully accept it, and God will count it for righteousness.
Otherwise there is no escaping the wrath of God.
--Tom SteereLet the song go round the earth,
Jesus Christ is Lord!
Sound His praises, tell His worth,
be His name adored.

Good night everyone!!
See you tomorow!

I appreciate everything that everyone has said about telemarketers. I know how frustrating they can be when they seem to not take no for an answer. This is the way we are trained, and if we don't fully respond to two or more objections to the "object" or "service" we are promoting, it is our jobs on the line. If I don't try to respond to two or more objections, I won't have a job by the end of the week....it is unfortunate but it is true. It is certainly not a job I can say that I love doing. This isn't my career focus in life, but I am hoping that the money I make by doing it, will help me get to the career I do want to have in the future. I am a late bloomer I guess....almost 32 years old, and it has only been in the last 9 months that I have been fully confident which direction I want to go in for my future career path. I respect everyone else's point of view on telemarketers, and I do know that there are some pretty obnoxious ones out there....I work with many of them.
Lee, thank you for your words on this....I will remember what you have said. It is my prayer, when I go to work at night that the people I talk to will find that they will have a better telemarketer experience when they talk to me. I try to let folks know that I am not one of the obnoxious ones, and that I truely understand their frustration with my call. Usually when I get the time to explain that, before they simply hang up on me, I will have a nice conversation with that person. It always makes my night go a little smoother. And I guess that is what I was trying to say this afternoon, when I typed what I did.
Dad, I remember your frustration when you were in Life Insurance. I understand it. I live it daily. I think that may be part of the reason why I wouldn't be able to make this a lifetime job. With the right kind of budgeting, and saving, I will be able to start taking some night school courses, to start my education in the field that I do want to be able to pursue for the rest of my working years, because I know this just isn't it. Have a great day in training tomorrow, I know that is one aspect of your "Job" that you have found a passion for.
Love to all
Heather
Heather - even though I'm not a "telemarketer fan"., I still wish you luck in finding the right people wheo just might be interested in what you are promoting.
just out of curiosity.... what are you selling these days?
Hi Everyone!!
Just thought I would stop by before heading to bed. I went to the Dr. today for my back and it was stubborn and didn't get much movement out of it-Im pretty tight and its not only my joints but muscles too-He told me to use a pillow to keep my back straight when Im sitting at the computer or in the car etc..and I am suppose to use ice 4-5x's a day..to help get the swelling down..I did get a massage today and since that I have felt my back have some movement. The rest of the day I spent with my 10 year old daughter-we went to lunch then I dropped her off at her friends for the night-I came back home and picked up my oldest daughter and she went shopping with me-she turns 14 on the 14th..Anyone have any good ideas for a birthday gift for a teenage girl-no cars or makeup lol..I may sound old fashioned lol-but we haven't allowed her to have the priveledge yet to wear makeup..It is just something we have decided that she doesn't need at this point. Anyway-she does want a new stereo so I know I will get that-any other ideas lol. Well, im off to bed..talk with ya tomorrow-Pat how are your PSP Lessons going? were you able to get those unplugged colours installed? I haven't been able to, if you know of a different link then what they gave us could you send it to me?
Thanks
Hugs in Jesus

To the hall of the feast came the sinful and fair,
She heard in the city that Jesus was there.
Unheeding the splendour that blazed on the board,
She silently knelt at the feet of the Lord.
The frown and the murmur went
round through them all,
That one so unhallowed should tread in that hall;
And some said the poor would be objects more meet,
As the wealth of her perfume she
showered on His feet.
She heard but the Saviour; she spoke but with sighs;
She dared not look up to the Heaven of His eyes;
And the hot tears gushed forth at
each heave of her breast,
As her lips to His sandals were throbbingly pressed.
In the sky after tempest, as shineth
the bow,
In the glance of the sunbeam as melteth
the snow,
He looked on that lost one;
Her "sins were forgiven;"
And Mary went forth in the beauty of Heaven.
Hi All
I am looking after Bonnie's boys today, had them all night. Drake kept Kassie and I awake most of the night. I am thankful I don't have little ones on a permanent basis. I am doing this in exchange for a night away with John, and she will stay with the girls.
Ria, Mom told me that her sister, your aunt, is not well? How are things going with her. Glad your foot is getting better.
The telemarketing that Heather, Bonnie, and Megan do is for AT&T or other telephone products generally selling long distance plans. There are other things that are sold but the plans all seem to be related. The company that employs my family is the largest employer in NorthBay. They are expanding and opening another "call center" and will employ 250 more people. Our youth when out of school have either further education, in the university or telemarketing. There is little industry here. They pay about 4 dollars above minimum wage, and offer benefits. My guess is that they have to pay this well in order to keep callers.
Jenny is that a poem or a hymn? It is beautiful for sure.
It is - 5*C a cool day, but these days it is needed to keep the flooding at bay. Yesterday, it was a damp cold with slushy snow and rain. Our roads were really slick, but the highway was good. I was glad it ended as we were drying shoes in the van as we drove. Melaura left her boots at a friends and I had to dry her runners as we drove.
Pat I am glad you and John had a good visit.
Well bye for now,
Love Judy
Good morning! I am really tired this morning, as I spent most of the night in my recliner with a hot pack on my shoulder. I don't know what the problem is, but am praying for relief, it has been bothering me so much lately.
Darrel still isn't feeling well, he says "Maybe in one more day." We have to leave early in the morning.
Beth will deliver her dog and bird to their respective "sitters" this evening so we can hit the road early.
I got the paintings I have been working on all finished, so will take pictures of those and get them posted soon.
Like a fence, character cannot be strengthened by whitewash.
Hey everyone! Good morning!
nothing new going on around here.
Just thought I would stop in and say Hi!
Zachery_Mullet_Revan
Hi everyone. I am enjoying a quiet and uneventful (I hope) Saturday here in Georgia. We had an early morning rain and it is now overcast and a bit chilly but not cold.
I didn't feel very well yesterday and was so tired that I went to bed about 8:30 last evening. Glad to be able to say I feel fine this morning so guess it was just one of those days.
I did get the external power adapter for my laptop yesterday afternoon so now have access to my laptop for the evenings. Unfotunately it wasn't covered under the extended warranty so I had to pay the $106 cost but was lost without it. Do hope the computer lasts a few more years to get my money's worth from the adapter. It has been a good computer, a Compaq, and this was the first problem I have had with it.
My daughter's car finally passed the emissions inspection yesterday so I was able to get the tag for the license plate. Fortunately they didn't assess the $5 penalty that I was expecting.
Heather, it sounds like you have your attitude correctly set in terms of your current job. Just remember people are not rejecting you as a person but just reflecting a general feeling towards telemarketers in general. I know it must be hard to not take the rejection personally but do hope you learn to forget it and just keep going on. Glad to hear you are planning on getting futher education in the future. It is never too late for more education.
Rachelle, do hope this day finds you feeling better. Sorry that the visit to the doctor didn't produce the desired results.
Ria, sure hope you and your family, especially your father, can avoid the flu that is going around. I haven't heard too much about the flu in our area recently. It sounds like you will have a nice birthday celebration.
JudyB, I agree with you on how tiring keeping small ones can be. Hope you and John have a good night out.
Janet, having to sleep in a chair is sure the pits. Hope you feel better before you start your trip tomorrow. It sounds like you have some interesting reading lined up for next week to help the time pass by. I always try to have a book or a crossword puzzle available to help during waiting. That is something I learned from my grandmother, who always said she never minded waiting as she always had a puzzle book in her pocketbook.
Hi Pat, Zachery, Judy, Jenny and anyone else I haven't addressed a comment to this morning. I also want to extend a big welcome to Oldiesmann.
Our dauther-in-law had out-patient knee surgery yesterday to remove a piece of floating cartiledge that my son said looked like a piece of garlic. She came through the surgery fine and the doctor wants her up and walking every hour during the day and evening time. She had an MRI on her other knee eariler in the week and was diagnosed with oestio-necrosis and it may also be present in her hips. She will see the doctor about that next week. It is a very serious disease so was not good news. I did some web research for information on it for my son and he said they had read over all of it and will be better able to talk to their doctor next week.

(Click to hear music)
"I have stretched out my hands unto Thee." Psalm 88:9
Words: Charles Wesley, Psalms and Hymns, 1741
Music: "Naomi," Hans G. Nägeli; arranged by Lowell Mason, 1836
Father, I stretch my hands to Thee,
No other help I know;
If Thou withdraw Thyself from me,
Ah! whither shall I go?
What did Thine only Son endure,
Before I drew my breath!
What pain, what labor, to secure
My soul from endless death!
Surely Thou canst not let me die;
O speak, and I shall live;
And here I will unwearied lie,
Till Thou Thy Spirit give.
Author of faith! to Thee I lift
My weary, longing eyes:
O let me now receive that gift!
My soul without it dies.

The accompaniment to the above hymn isn't as nice as some we have but I think the words are outstanding and very meaningful.
Ria, thank you for your good wishes. This will be the eleventh year in a row we have rented this house in Florida for our vacation. We really feel at home there. Each year we say this may be our last to make this trip. Say Happy Birthday to your Dad and Brother.
Zachery_Mullet_Revan Good to see you here this morning. I have a grandson who is 13 years old and his mother home schools him. His older brother and sister went all the way through from first grade through 12th with home school.
Larry, sorry about your daughter-in-law. I hope that she can get the medical care she needs.
Pat, thank you for this morning's devotional. It is in a context which is very interesting and where Paul expresses the responsibility of people who really are without excuse because they CAN know God. When people worship idols instead of the living God they should really know better.
Rom 1:16-23
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-- his eternal power and divine nature-- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools
23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. (NIV)

Today's Featured Poem:
Birds and Bees - Ranch Style
By Phread, 11-03
A rancher was working in a corral
helping one of his cows give birth,
when he noticed his 4-year-old son
watching for all he was worth.
As his kid stood wide-eyed at the fence,
the man pulled the calf from the cow.
His kid soaked in the whole event,
he was learning about ranch life now!
The rancher finished with his work,
but then he thought, "Oh, geez!
He's only 4 and now I've gotta start
explaining about the birds and bees."
"I'll just let him ask, and then I'll answer,"
he thought, "No need to jump the gun."
So, after everything was over,
the rancher walked up to his son.
And he asked, "Well, my little man,
now that you've seen how things are done,
do ya have any questions for me?
Ask me anything you want to, son!"
"I just got one question, Daddy"
answered the wide-eyed lad,
as he looked up all proud-like
at the man he called his dad.
"I really gotta wonder, Daddy,
I mean, golly-gee and wow.
How fast was that calf going
when it hit that cow?!?"
====================
HEHE lol Ms.Janet!!
That was really funny! Where did you get that poem?!? boy that cracked me up!!!!!

Welcome, Stephen to CP!!!!!!!
Zachery
Hello folks.
I got this message in the mail yesterday and want to share it with you all. I am not one to share things like this but here it goes.
Not Perfection, But Forgiveness
Christ had no sin, but God made him become sin sa that in Christ we would become right with God.
II Corinthians 5:21
[/b]
It wasn't the Romans who nailed Jesus to the cross. It wasn't spikes that held Jesus to the cross. What held him to that cross was his conviction that it was necessary that he become sin--That he who is pure become sin and that the wrath of God be poured down, not upon the creation, but upon the Creator.
When the one who knew no sin became sin for us, when the sinless one was covered with all the sins of all the world, God didn't, because he knew he would rather give up his Son than give up on us.
Regardless of what you've done,
it's not too late. Regardless of how far you've fallen,
it's not too late. It doesn't matter how low the mistake is,
it's not too late to dig down, pull out that mistake, and then let it go--and be free. What makes a Christian a Christian is not perfection but
forgiveness.Max Lucado

Pastoral Ministry: A Good Husbandman
Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where
I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You
loved Me before the foundation of the world.
--John 17:24
I believe that a pastor who is content with a vineyard that is not at
its best is not a good husbandman. It is my prayer that we may be a
healthy and fruitful vineyard and that we may be an honor to the Well
Beloved, Jesus Christ the Lord, that He might go before the Father
and say, "These are mine for whom I pray, and they have heard the
Word and have believed on Me." I pray that we might fit into the high
priestly prayer of John 17, that we would be a church after Christ's
own heart so that in us He might see the travail of His soul and be
satisfied....
The church should be a healthy, fruitful vineyard that will bring
honor to Christ, a church after Christ's own heart where He can look
at the travail of His soul and be satisfied. Rut, Rot or Revival:
The Condition of the Church, 112,119.
"Lord, I long that Jesus Christ might indeed be satisfied with my own
life and the lives of those whom He has called me to lead. Help me to
be a faithful husbandman in whatever vineyard You place me. Amen

JANET...........
You're a very funny......(NUT). ;)
Well, here it is the middle of the afternoon on Saturday! I haven't got much done today. I think I'm getting a cold. I haven't had one for a long time so I can't complain. I've been drinking hot lemon and ginger tea with honey since John left this morning.
Yes, we had a lovely visit. Neither of us knew when to go to bed! I just hope that John wasn't too tired teaching this morning.
It was funny too that in the night at one point when i couldn't sleep, I turned on the TV and it was in the middle of a report about the Highway 401 being closed due to a terrible truck accident where the driver was under the influence of alcohol. They said in the report that the highway would be closed for 2 weeks! I was stunned as I had heard nothing about this on the evening news last night.
So I got up and told John about the highway being closed and tried to find out on one of the TV stations something more about it.
Well, I've found out! ::) ::) ::) ::)
It was "News in Review from 20 years ago!"
It was all about a terrible truck accident that kept Highway 401, our busiest highway in Canada, closed for 2 weeks while they reconstructed a bridge and cleared up the debris!
Soni, when is the funeral? I've been thinking much of Mike's brother's family. This is so sad and he was so young.
Oh, Rachelle, I'm so far behind in my Paint Shop Pro lessons. I'm starting Week 3!!! I'm planning on really trying hard to get them done later on today. This week I've been so busy with other things and maybe spent too much time working away at other things rather than getting my lessons done!
I'm sorry about your problems, Heather, with the telemarketing business. I understand your frustration but I must admit that I try to look first to see if I can recognize the caller before lifting up my receiver and if I don't recognize it, I just don't bother answering the phone. I get sometimes 10 to 15 calls a day and I have to run to the kitchen each time and with arthritis in the knees this is no easy task only to find that it's someone wanting to clean my air ducts for the furnace that I don't own having electric heating in this house. Or maybe they want to replace my windows that I just had replaced two years ago! I can't stand these calls and find that they are an invasion of my private life. And being as busy as I am in my life, I don't have the time to listen to their speil (sp?) especially too when they want to sell me life insurance or something that would not suit my life at all. I hope that you'll be able to get a different job soon and I pray that you will.
My goodness, Judy McKenna, are we talking about the charm bracelets that we all used to wear 40 years ago? I must look mine up.
Ria, I hope that your parents have a great birthday celebration tomorrow! How's that toe doing?
Thanks so much for that poem, Jenny. Oh that we might not be embarrassed to kneel at the feet of our Lord and Saviour.
Oh, goodness, Janet, I'm so sorry that Darryl is still not feeling well. That's no way to set out on a 500 mile journey! I will continue to pray for you all and especially for our dear Beth.
Hi Zac!
Hey, Larry, don't you be overdoing it. We couldn't get along without you on CP you know. I love that hymn that you posted. You are so right when you say that the words are awesome. So meaningful. Thanks! I'm so sorry about your daughter-in-law, Larry.
Thanks for your little daily devotional, Papa John. I get a "warm fuzzy" each time I see your name pop up and then that ever familiar green text. I know that I'm going to get fed with God's Word.
Chris, you are so faithful bringing us Dr. Tozer's wonderful writings each day. What meat in them! Thanks so very much.
Pat..........

Yes, Lee, So very Precious! But it's so difficult sometimes for those of us left behind to grasp that sometimes. Oh that this family will be able to realize the truths of this verse....soon.
Hey Ms.pat how are you today????? ;D
hey everyone else!!
Zachery
Hi Zac! I'm pretty good thanks! Just trying to work away at my Paint Shop Pro lessons. I'm going to have to knuckle down and get lots done today on them.
Where are you at, Rachelle in your lessons?
Amen to that Pat...........
Judy...........
If I wasn't so darn macho, I'd cry over your last post. It's a keeper, and I'm making a copy of it to give to friends.
Rev.1:3
I am home from the retreat. A wonderful time was had by all....all 15 of us. I think small groups are better really. The weather was great but a bit windy yesterday. The lady driving the church van was really tired fighting the steering wheel in I-65. It was a lot better driving today. We got in our rooms and then got back in the van. We shopped until 5 pm yesterday. Then back to our rooms to get ready to eat in the motel restaurant at 6:30pm. I had Prime Rack of Pork....delicious!!@!!! And I think Jerry is going to have my leftovers for supper tonight. Then we went to the suite...four ladies shared the suite and we all gathered there for prayer and the speaker. We all took a white elephant gift and we played a game to get those gifts. Then we had two tables of 'Phase Ten'... a card game. I think I shut off the light in our room at 1 am. Then the alarm at 7 am. We each brought something for breakfast. We had everything.... quiche, sausage links, sausage balls, muffins, fruit, rolls, cereal, juice, coffee and tea. A lot nicer than the motel furnished one year. So Marilyn, this didn't cost that much at all. Just half of the room, plus a white elephant gift and something for breakfast. After the devotions and prayer, we all packed up to go home....AFTER we shopped some more. We got home around 4 pm today.
It was fun!!!!

Thank you, Pat for the beautiful graphic and kind words. ((hug)) The funeral is on Wednesday. The kids and I won't beable to go, because of doctor/dentist and dance. :'(
I am very thankful to have you all during these times of pain and hurt, and during our happy times too. Thanks everyone!!!!
We are going to a charity dinner tonight. I am donating 3 of my pictures to the charity of my choice.

I am excited to see what they go for. I will let you all know come Monday.
Troy will also be in the Chuckles for Charity. They are doing a play to the song "Devil went to down to Georgia" By Apoligetix. Troy is the devil puppet.
There is like 15 different groups of people that get together and make up a play or something to make people laugh. My dance teacher is entering a dance again this year. She has won the contest 5 years in a row. We are hoping that our Youth group will win this year.
Not much else has been going on. Been pretty quiet around here.
Thanks Heather! I've been reading your posts but been so busy. I hope you get a picture of your new haircut and hmmm...what to get a 14 year? A stereo would be nice with a few christian rock cd's. I know that is what my 14 year old likes. What is her name?
I better get ready. I have 1 1/2 to get ready.
Have a good night.

HI Judy, I am praying for the little guy. My boys had been around so many kids with chicken pox but never caught it themselves. I finally took them in to get the shot 3 years ago. The doctor said that there are very few kids that don't get them because their immune system is so high. My dad never got them either until a few years ago and you know what he got then. Shingles. ewww...poor guy.
I would recommend the shot to everyone.
(hug)
Sonja..........
Just recently (Within the last two weeks) I read a report on "Pox" and adults who get " Shingles." Apparently the risk of adults getting shingles if they've never had pox is quite high.
Thank you Pat for the devotional.
Sonja that verse is special. Yes, Jesus became sin for us to safisfy a Holy God. It is called the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 2:2 says "And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but for the sins of the whole world." How wonderful that what Jesus did when He died on the cross was the atoning sacrifice. I went and saw "The Passion of the Christ" last night. It was very hard to watch, but I am glad I went. I found out that there was scripture all through it. I know it will make many people think, whether for salvation or for rededication. After seeing the movie it has intensified my love for my Lord.
When I came on a 1/2 hour ago, I was the only one on CP. Looks like more have come on since. Will check in again. God Bless
Love Ruthie
Well, it has been nice to read all the posts today. I managed to stay awake all day, but my arm/shoulder is hurting again now, so I think I will go take a hot shower and go to bed. 4:00 will come pretty soon, anyway!
May the Lord bless and keep you while we are absent one from the other. Prayers for a safe journey will be appreciated.
Love,
Janet

Greetings all CPers! ;D
Looks like we've had our taste of spring and now we're going back to winter. :o It was 52 this afternoon and tomorrow we're supposed to get snow. Go figure. ???
We had supper during the evening news and discovered that at 7:00 Billy Graham Crusade was on. So the dishes waited. And so did my visit here. ;D He looked much better than I had expected, but then again who knows when that particular show was taped. :-\ It always gives me chills to see how many people respond to the altar call.
Heather....I know that telemarketing or any salesman job is very hard. It is convincing people that they need or want something that maybe they don't need or want. I know because my brother Doug, who died when he was only 39 years old, was the very best in the business. He ran phone rooms not only in Toronto, but across the country. He knew how to sell and had amazing perseverence. I can remember going out door to door with him to learn how to sell "dry cleaning booklets" with coupons. He said, "watch me, I will sell one at this next door" and sure enough he did! And every other door. Doug would win prizes when he was a young boy and later when he was older because he was the best in the city. So I learned much from him. It takes a special person to be good at selling something. Heather, do not give up and God will help you.
Rachelle, I take calcium & magnesium and also glucosamine with MSM, and when my joint or muscles ache, I take extra magnesium (400 IU). My chiropractor said this is all very safe and very good for your bones and muscles. If you take magnesium make sure it is citrate. This is more easily absorbed that the other kind.
Hi Ria....I hope you don't get sick. Please stay away from people who are.
Jenny...thank you for that story about Mary and the Saviour. After seeing "The Passion" it shows Jesus in every day situations. Have you seen it?
Janet, you should alternate hot and cold. It might help. I will be praying for you and Beth while you are away. Larry is right, you need some good books to read, or crossword puzzles. God Bless.
Larry, sorry to hear about your daughter. My daughter had a torn ligament in her knee when she was about 16. That was very painful and she had a hard time getting back in shape after the operation.
Judy....It was Psalm 139 that we talked about at the Ladies Retreat last weekend. We were told to sit somewhere or walk somewhere, but be alone with God and read Psalm 139 like a prayer and thank God that we were fearfully and wonderfully made. It made us all think about how wonderful it is to have the mightly God in our lives.
WELCOME STEPHEN TO CP. [/b] You will enjoy it here.
God Bless
Ruthie
Well, this cold is coming on with a vengeance and so I'm off to bed.
I've opened up a new topic for tomorrow and please make yourself at home and continue to look for our new folks.
Thanks so much for all of your comments.
Have a blessed Sunday with the Lord.
