Morning Devotional...

Hebrews 3:1-6.  "Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, Who was faithful to Him Who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house . . . and Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, Whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end."

Two things of which we can be absolutely sure regarding Jesus our Lord: He was always perfectly faithful to do what pleased His Father (John 8:29) and He will "save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:25)

It just means that you can count on Him:  if you have come to God to confess your sinnerhood and to place your faith in Christ His Son, then He has drawn you into that faith by His Spirit, and He will not cease to draw you until you stand before Him in glory!  As Paul told the Philippians, "being confident of this very thing, that He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Phil. 1:6)  You cannot fall away, not because you're "hanging on" so hard, but because HE'S "hanging on" to you!  He will always draw you to confess your sins, and "he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)  He is faithful, even when we are not.

But that faithfulness, that constancy, can be yours as well, for by His Spirit He lives in you.  And, also by His Spirit, that constancy will be used to draw others to Himself as well.  Oh pray that His faithfulness will be more and more your faithfulness - today.

Now that old but wonderful hymn:

AMAZING GRACE
(Click title to hear music)

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We?ve no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

Janet

Hmmm! ::)  I'm first after Al!  Good morning!

Darrel has been suffering from vertigo for a few days, really dizzy---so we will go see Dr. Plumlee at 10:30.  We need to talk to him about Beth anyway.  I don't know what this day holds, but our Lord never fails us, and I know we are being undergirded by your prayers.................

Drats for computers!  I noticed my WeatherBug was missing so I downloaded it again.  And downloaded Avast Anti-virus.  One of them messed this pc up royally.  So I did another restore.  I just ran my spyware detector and all it found was WeatherBug stuff that was low risk.  And I like the WeatherBug.  I have had it for years and I certainly don't know why it 'bugs' this pc now.

I was going to mow today but I think I will wait until tomorrow.  Trying to figure out my mowing schedule so it doesn't fall on Thursdays and Fridays AND June 8 thru June 11 when I will be in Ohio.  Then of course, you have to think...it may rain when I need to mow.

Janet ~ Have you told Beth she can have Mieka when she moves?  That will surely make her more comfortable.  Once she realizes how much easier it will be with others helping her get around and meals are brought to her or her go to them, she will wonder.....why didn't I do this sooner.  Might as well make her as comfortable as possible and rest for you, too!  Will she have internet access so she can 'talk' to John?

I went to Subway last night, too!  Aaron called and asked if Ivalou and I would like to go somewhere to eat.  He doesn't drive but he suggested Subway.  That is close...less than a couple of miles so that was fine with me.

Tonight I am going to Greenfield to El Rodeo to have dinner with my Small Group.  Then Wal-Mart...need kitty litter and milk....What a combination!

OH,yes.  Remember my plastic purses that I crochet?  I emailed www.redhatfashions4u.com and asked them if I could have some red plastic bags.  For $10 they will send me 50 bags.  So I will call them after 10 a.m. California time and give them a credit card number.  Now to get some purple fun fur for trim!

Hi there eeryne The read had plastic purse sounds like something they would like to know about and possibley sell. Good for you Etta  Sue. It is something to think about.

Marilyn Yes I pray for you.

Janet I am continuing to pray.  Darryl's dizzyness is a concern with driving.

Al I have printed out the devotional and will study it in more depth.

Ritz you say you are packing?  Are you moving?  Did I miss something?

I have a BIG day planned.  A dear friend is coming up from Guelph and I am really looking forward to seeing her.  I have a few things to do before she gets here.

John will be home tomorrow.  I want to get all of our bedding washed and the pillows washed/bleached before he gets home.  I will also flip the mattress.  So I am off to get that started.

God bless all of you.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I didn't even get here yesterday as was working on some webpage updates and was having trouble staying connected to the Internet.  I talked with the cable company this morning and was told something to try, which I have done, and it seems to be better.  I also have had a problem getting a credit from them since January.  It was for $41.  I went in last week and was told I would have an e-mail reply in two days.  I didn't get it so went back this morning and when she looked at my account they had increased the credit by another $18 so I have a credit on next months bill.  I almost fainted on the spot.

Pat, your devotional yesterday contained so much truth.  It certainly fit with the mention of the man who had seen the DaVinci movie or read the book and had fallen away.  I don't want to hear "what I would like to hear" but "what I need to know" from my minister.

Janet, does Beth realize you will be able to bring some of her things to have in her room at the care facility.  They often will let you bring in familar things and certainly pictures.  Sure hope she will be able to have her dog there.  Glad you were able to take her to the special service for your Mother yesterday.  Janet, sure hope the vertigo doesn't last very long for Darrel as that is a terrible feeling.

JudyB, sorry to hear that it is so cold there.  Warmer weather can't be too far away.  It sure is warm down here that we have had to air condition.

Etta Sue, I have heard (don't know this as a fact) that the Weatherbug software does put a lot of spyware on your computer.  That could have been causing your problems.

Marilyn, that was a very pretty graphics.  I hope you will pick up some additional hours of work to help your situation.

I know that I haven't commented to many of the posters yesterday and today.  I have read all your postings and it is good seeing you post.

Mary Frances

"You cannot fall away, not because you're "hanging on" so hard, but because HE'S "hanging on" to you!"

Thanks Al for this special sentence.  It is really comforting to know this.  As sometimes, we do feel somewhat separated, but it is good to know that we can always count on Him to be there with us.

Janet, I have had a bad case of Vertigo in the past and I know just how Darrel must feel. It is good that you are going to the doctor.  In the recent months, I have had a problem with double vision, which also makes one feel unstable - thankfully new lenses in my eye glasses took care of this problem.

Marilyn, your teddy bear "Have a Great Day" greeting card is precious.

Also, I enjoy reading the comments of JudyB and Larry Hanna each day.

May you all have a happy, blessed day.

Mary Frances

:(  Ooops, I forgot to mention  Etta Sue.

Etta, you truly amaze me with your computer skillls.  Your comments are always so interesting about your many activities.  Keep up the good work.

Etta Sue

Thanks, Mary Frances!  But right now I feel my computer skills are about as much as spit from an ant!

Larry ~ I have had WeatherBug on my computer or years.  And using XoftSpy for my spyware detector.  WeatherBug was never detected as spyware on XoftSpy before this past week.

This afternoon this computer is running like a well oiled top!  Also noticed that I couldn't get into CoreComm...my old ISP...to clean up my Spam.  And I haven't received any email from the core.com account since 10:07 this morning.  That account is closed now.  Do you think that CoreComm was messing up my computer and perhaps thinking I would go back to them...me thinking it was Earthlink?  I wonder!!!

Thanks Al, for the encouraging Word.

The rainy season has set in here.  It will be around, off and on, mostly on, for the next 6 weeks. :P  But before the rains came, Jazz and I went to the river.  He swam.  I threw sticks.  A gazillion times.

Then we went to the park.  I posted a pict of Jazz in the park, if you're have a second...

Etta Sue, with your graphics skills, I would love to see you on a Mac.  That is the Mac's "forte" of sorts, and I could just imagine how much more fun that would be for you.

I had to login as something changed today.  Don't know what?  It should be set on forever.

Judy B:  We were both watching Narnia last night & will see the end tonight.  Sorry about your sinus headache.

Chris:  One brother spent his entire army time in Weisbauden.  Better than going to Vietnam - he lost two good friends.  Anyway, he did enjoy going down by the Rhine river on weekends.

We were some pair this morning.  I still can barely walk with foot swollen & found a baby rabbit had fallen into the deep window well in the basement.  Don tried to rescue it and cut his head & it was bleeding.  Our grandson had to go into the window well & caught the little rabbit with his LaCross thing & pulled it out then climbed out.  This was all before school started.  Don isn't having stitches but he was a mess  & I could barely hobble to get the kids going.

Thanks for the devotional, Al.  Played the music on my new Windows Media 11 player.  Sounds just like 10 only more frustrating......!

Rain and cool today.  Poor folks in the Victoria parade got soaked.  The word is that it may be the last year for bands from US to come, due to the border stuff....Won't be much of a parade without all the school bands.  They are great.  I watched from home, as it was on TV.  Used to go when living in the city as it is a fun thing to see.

Having a problem with the site this time.  Had to disable my pop-up blocker....something new on the bottom of site about allowing pop-ups...?  Incidentally, Windows has a free scan that gets rid of lots of junk on the computer and finds viruses.  Mine are all quarrantined by Nortons, but it took out other things missed by AD-Aware and SpyBot.

Lots of data about 'that' movie right now.  As I stated before, (in my opinion) Dan Brown isn't going to stop those who truly seek Jesus and certainly won't be remembered in years to come.  I have read one of his mystery books but refused to read this work of fiction.  Found the subject too disgusting.  One interesting article is written by www.michaelnovak.net that calls it a Hate Movie with something to offend everyone.  Both Christian and Secular.

Buy a Mac

I was just having a conversation with someone who is about
to buy a Mac. I was against it and an argument started. I said
there were too few people supporting the Mac.

He responded, "When was the last time you heard of a virus
on a Mac?"

And I said "See, even people who write viruses don't support
Macs."

                             ;) ;) ;D

They are the best for graphics......I have Windows XP.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

Still on page one?  Must be a busy Monday for everyone!

I am feeling more hopeful tonight than I have felt for more than two weeks.  I went to the care home to talk to them and was shown the room they intend to give Beth.  It is a double room, and she will have it to herself!!!  (Something about half of it being de-certified due to low patient population.)  This way, she will have more room to get around in her power chair, have more of her personal things around her, etc.  She was so happy when I told her.  And all we have to do for her computer access is to call our server.  :)  So things are looking up, and I am so relieved.

Her room is also near the nurses' station so they can help her with bathroom needs, etc.  I really think she will thrive there, once the adjustment period is over.  She loves attention, and will get a lot of it there.  ^-^

They are to go do her assessment at 10:30 in the morning, I will meet them there, and then all that's needed is Dr. Plumlee's order, so we should be able to move her tomorrow afternoon!!  :)  It will be such a relief, she is miserable there in the hospital.  But the therapist came in today and they went for a "walk" all around the park just across the street from the hospital.  Good for her to get out in the fresh air and sunshine.  That power chair is a blessing.

Etta Sue, wish you or Larry could show me how to get my photos to PSP so I could post some.  Once this stress level goes down, my mind will function better and then maybe I can do it.  Probably really simple for computer type folk.  :-[

I really felt the strength of all your prayers today, folks.  Thank you and  <3  You're the best!

P.S.  Nita.....I got your print in the mail today!

I came back to say Darrel is feeling better, Dr. Plumlee thinks it's an inner ear infection (our guess, too) and gave him an antibiotic.  He (Dr. P.) was so concerned about Beth......such a nice man.

Darrel says thanks for your prayers for him, too!  :)

Hi Everyone...

Feeling "fluish" today so spent most of the afternoon in my bed.  Just got up to have a cup of tea.

I'll go and check my email and maybe watch TV for awhile.

Glad about Beth, Janet.  Sounds like a nice room.

Hi all: I had a very nice time out and about today with Jan. I bought a few things and a new pr of sunglasses as I broke my good pair this morning, the ear piece broke when the  tech tried to fix it. We were at the Eye Dr's office so I asked them to fix it and they broke it the rest of the way

I took the shop vac to my keyboard today and now it is working so much better. Now I am typing without any spelling errors according to my spellcheck in my Google toolbar.

Etta Sue I read someplace that the weather bug brought in all kinds of spyware in. I got rid of weather bug before I bought this new computer 1½ yrs ago.

Janet I am so blessed to hear that the prayers are being answered re: Beth.

Hi all.  I just came in to check and see how everyone is doing. :)  I see that God is still on the throne, and we are still His.  Oh, the joy and comfort His Love brings us.

Kevin, I gotta tell you (and don't tell Ty and Roco)I've fallen in love with Jazz.  He's such a wonderful dog.  And I'm sure your care has made him that way.  You're both blessed.

Janet, I'll look for my print.  I'm so excited to get it and then to find the perfect frame and hang it.  I know it will touch me every time I see it.
That's so neat about Beth's room!  The more she can have with her, the less she will feel displaced.   I'm also happy to read that the burdon is being lifted from your heart.  God is so for you.........and for Beth.....and for Darrel.  Praise Him.  Even when it looks so awful, He has already started bringing good things into the situation.   It makes my heart happy to read your post.

I've been sort of tired today.  I can't believe the things I can't do this year that I could last year.  I get tired easier, but still love working outdoors.  I was trying to make a straight line along the flower bed, with a shovel, and couldn't even dig into the thatched grass.  Shovel is new, and probably not very sharp, but I was surprised that I couldn't do that.  I was pooped, so gave up and sat and listened to the wind chimes and watched clouds. :)

Pat, I'm sorry to read that you are feeling fluish.  Please take really good care of our Pat. ok?

Marilyn, you vacuumed your keyboard today.  Yesterday I cleaned the inside of my puter.  It was pretty dusty.

Hello to everyone who are on the other page. haha   I've forgotten who posted.   I read all the posts and enjoyed each one.  I like reading about your lives and the things you do each day.

Blessings,  Nita

Thanks, Nita.  I'll go brush Jazz, on your behalf.  He's still shedding that undercoat :o !!  Last year we had him clipped--only left about an inch!  He looked pretty funny, but looked cool and comfortable, too.

Hi Folks.  This has been a busy day.  We are all tired.  I have to get off soon as John will be calling.

Kevin  your dog is great.  I have 4 A dobeerman Dana, Our old girl Cimi, she is 5 and a real sweetie girl, and her 2 puppies.  As you can guess we are a dog loving family.

Thank you for the comments on the posts, it is still cold here, but there was a beautiful sunset, so I hope that is a sign of good weather to come.

Janet I am continuing to pray.  Good news about the room Beth will have, and that she will have some of her homey things with her.  You didn't mention the dog.  Can she have him there?

Pat sorry upi have been feeling sick.  Wish I could come down and make some chicken soup!  Haha we would have a good time sick or not!

I have to go  for now, have a good night everyone.

JudyB

Hey folks.

Just thought I would check in and read today's devotional.

Guess I will have to wait till morning.

Etta Sue

I can't remember who said what (Sr. moment) but I don't know anyone personally that has an Apple.  I have heard that they are great for graphics.  And that they don't have viruses.  That would be a plus.  At small groups one of the guys was showing us on the pc the Apple commercials that are on TV now.  Hilarious!  And I do love to make animations.  They are simple...to me.  And Janet, when you get breathing time, email me and I will be more than happy to talk you through getting your photos on PSP.  Maybe we could work through IM's.

This morning I get to do my favorite thing.......NOT!  I have to take the car for grease, oil and tire rotation with balance.  It is at a tire dealership and between the oil smell and rubber smell.....yuck!  And it is too cold to sit outside!  Just hope they don't take a long time.

For some reason, I have started squeeking when it comes to feeling I am being treated unfairly.  First, I pay for my newspaper by the year.  I got my new notice...twice as much as last year.  But if you paid by the month with a credit card it was cheaper.  I called.  I said why is it cheaper when I have to do something each month and you have to do something each month?  Something about invoices being sent out for those who don't pay when they should.  So I am being penalized for those who don't pay their bills.  I am on a fixed income.  Then they said...let me talk to my boss.  I got two year subscription for the price of one!!

I ordered a Fiesta Taco Burger at the restaurant last week in Grand Rapids.  I saw nothing or tasted nothing taco-y about it and when he asked how it was I told him....it tastes like a plain hamburger.  He talked to the cook and said that it was the seasoning.  I told him, there was no taco seasoning in this burger.  Anyway, Nancy didn't have to pay for my hamburger.

Yesterday, I noticed I was being billed for $9 on a credit card for something that I used once from the computer.  I know I was billed at least two times.  I told them I only used it once and I sure didn't save $9.  It was something about printing your own coupons for dining, entertainment, etc.  When I put in my zip code, only three things showed up and one I would never use anyway.  So I got an email in return saying that they cancelled my membership and I would see a $27 credit on my next credit card bill!  I had been billed three times.

So I guess it is worth it to squeek!  Sorry to vent my frustrations but this time they paid off....into my pocket book!

I just know that in less than a month, Beth will fee this move was the best thing she has done.  Just think, she won't have to worry about falling...she will have help for the bathroom and all.  And Mom can visit knowing she won't have to tug and lug either.

Gotta go!!
