Morning Devotional...


  Colossians 3:12.  "Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another, even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do."

Our Lord is so much more gentle with us than we deserve!  He is, after all, the thrice-holy Lord from heaven, and we are but undeserving sinners, worthy only of the treatment accorded untouchable and infectious lepers!  He would indeed be perfectly righteous if He were to dispatch us to hell by instantaneous bolts of lightning justice.  Instead He came into this fallen world as the meek and mild Lamb of God, taking upon Himself all our guilt and sin and bearing it to the Cross as though He were the lowliest of rebellious sinners!

The apostle Paul tells us that one of the fruits of the Spirit is "gentleness," which could as well be translated "meekness."  Our Savior exhibited that fruit as no other ever could.  He had every right to be arrogant, but He extended lovingkindness.  He had every right to be fiercely just, but He extended mercy.

How do you appear to your brothers and sisters in Christ?  Do they see the spirit of meekness in you, or must they endure arrogance from you?  Do you "lord it over them," or do you love them?  Oh how we need the spirit of our Lord in us!

And it can be so!  Paul said, "and do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."  Oh let us call upon Him long and often to overflow in us by His Spirit today!.

Good morning everyone.  What a good devotional to start the day on.  It's really great to have the opportunity to think about spiritual things by popping onto C.P. first thing in the morning.

This morning is a rush as we are going for a short walk with friiends from the church.

From last night.

Marilyn, I'm glad that your day went well at church yesterday.  Prayer meetings are usually the worst attended meetings in the church so I trust that you will eventually reach the 120 mark.

Ruth Ann, it's good to have a nap sometimes.  A minister friend of mine told me that as a lad his father would send them upstairs to read a christian book, but they usually ended up falling to sleep :)

Pat, I trust that you had a good day yesterday.  Looking forward to the fellowship on C.P. today.

Etta Sue, I'm glad that the meal turned out well.  Computers and Internet services are great while they are working, but when they break down they are a nuisance.

Ruthie, I think we are having some summer at last here in the U.K. as the sun is shining brightly this morning.  I'm glad that your visitors are having good weather.

Janet, what a disgrace to ignore Beth for so long.  My  heart goes out to all of you and will continue to pray with you that a change might be brought about.  Nothing is impossible with God.  I trust that the today will go well for you.

Good morning everyone.  Thankyou for the devotional Al, I am printing it off to read in more detail later.

We were at Another church yesterday, helping a missionary out.  The weather was unperdictable, Hot and muggy in the morning, by lunch time it was quite cold.  Later in the day it turned warm again. It was a toss up as to what we should wear.  A family called the Mudde, (bermuda minus the ber is how it is pronounced) were singing.  The 6 children range in age from 10 to 19.  They sang a lot of the old hymns that Iknew as a youngster.  If you ever see that they are in your area, make what ever arrangements necessary to hear them.  The girls have made new friendships with the 2 girls in the group. 

It is +15*C here so far this morning.  Foggy and muggy out.  The weather reports say it is to be hot and clear.  That will be nice, I love the hot weather.

Have a good day folks.  Janet I continue to pray, as I do for the other needs here on CP.  Carol take care of that foot!!

Hi everyone.  I realized after I went to bed last evening, pretty early as I was very tired yesterday, that I hadn't stopped by to read or post.  So will do this first thing today.  We also are hot here with temperatures in the low 90s. 

We went to church yesterday and Pat helped out in the toddler nursery during the service.  We then went out to the Chinese restruarant with several friends.  I was feeling so tired that I couldn't wait to get home and took a 2 1/2 hour nap. 

Nothing new here.  My morning coffee group will have to go to McDonald's today as our regular cafe is closed, as it was on Saturday. 

Janet, sorry to hear that Beth's experience in the care facility has not been good so far.  There is no excuse for a care giver to berate any resident.  I sure wish you had access to a Good Samaritan Care home.  While not perfect, we were very pleased with the care my parents got and the care provided in a very Christian atmosphere.  You are also right to keep very good records on what happens on a day to day basis.  There is probably a omsbudman available for the nursing home and there certainly are State controls.  Hope things improve this week. 

Etta Sue, it sounds like you had a nice picnic.  Glad there was a nice breeze.

GÔ¿ÔD MORNING!!

It seems it was a short night.  Inky just would not let her Mommy sleep any longer!  She usually does that when her food bowl in empty but she had plenty of food.

Not much going on today in Indiana at my home.  Just a relaxing day.  On my trips to Grand Rapids, I travel through Amish and Mennonite areas.  Fascinating people with the immaculate farms and homes.  I see many buggies and bicycles along the roads.  In one of the towns is an Amish restaurant and we have found it is a great place to have lunch both days.  I purchased a fiction book so today seems like a great day to really get into it.

Good Morning Everyone...

Just a brief drop in here right now.  Have to phone the vet to find out when I have to bring Geordie for his teeth cleaning today.  Our vet thought that maybe the serious kidney infection he had was from his teeth so found a vet that does it both cheaper and with no anesthetic.  So that's my day here.

So nice to see the posts and Al, thanks for the devotional.  What wonderful thoughts today.

Good Morning: Good devotional today Bro. Al.

Hi Pat, Larry, Etta sue, and Anthony.

My agenda for day includes going to Fay's to do her grocery shopping and fix her dinner/lunch. then on to the new job for a couple of hours, then to Pastor Leroy's to pick up his laundry and see what he needs today. I should be back about 3 PM. Then I will walk both dogs and do Leroy's laundry. I plan to mow tomorrow if it is not raining.

Y-all have a great day and enjoy your time  doing  what you are doing today.

Janet don't wear yourself out. Get some rest.

Al:  I love the thought about tender mercies.  May you experience some tender mercies from others as well.

Judy:  What is it about the old hymns.  It is just so soothing and refreshing to listen to the old songs.  

Ruth Ann:  Many a book has put me to sleep too.  

Etta Sue:  I enjoy looking at the simple life the Amish live and their quilts as well.  We stopped in Nebraska at one of the quilt country stores & it was so interesting although expensive too.  The farms are neat as well.  You sure are driving a lot & I was wondering if you are a volunteer driver or what has happened that you go so often.  

Anthony:  I try to come in here to CP first or 2nd - after email.  Now I have to login every time because Don has been cleaning the clutter on the computer ^-^

Pat:  It seems so odd that so many places are open today for it is our national holiday but  I know that you are going to the vet and Marilyn is working as well.  Interesting that the vet thought kidney infection could be from the teeth area.  

Marilyn:  I have to get out of my p.j's. and get something done.  You wear me out! :D

Carol Care Providers don't get any holidays off. I am fortunate that my clients let me have Christmas and Thanksgiving with my family. I do not work on Sundays and I tell them that right off when I am interviewed.  I am also blessed that I can pretty much set my own hours, however, if the clients need  a different time I have to juggle my other clients hours .That doesn't happen too often usually when someone and made an appointment outside of their hours I am to be with them.  Sometimes I have had to switch days as well as hours. I can ask for extra days off now and then to spend time with my family.

The weather here is nice, cool and  sunny until the fog rolls in. I love the weather here on the coast.

We just spent the morning out walking with friends from the church.  I took the camera with me, but forgot to take any floppy disks, so I could only take five photographs   :uglystupid:  Perhaps I'll do better the next time.  It was a lovely walk though, but a bit of an adventure with the wheelchair :o

JudyB I would have loved to hear those children singing.  It's a pity they don't put some songs on CD or something.

Larry, I am just 50 years old, but when I came back today I went to bed to have a nap.  I think it's the only thing to do when feeling tired.  It's good to see you today and I trust that you will have a good day.

Etta Sue, I've only seen Amish homes on the television - it must be interesting to see these different life-styles.

Pat, I hope you Geordie is ok after his visit to the vets.  We get attached to our pets and it's good that you take so much care of yours.

Marilyn, have a good day today.  It sounds like you are going to be very busy - God bless you in all of your labours.

It has been really busy for me for the last week.  But yesterday I was busy just relaxing with my family.  It was great doing a whole lot of relaxing.

Well, that ended with an "urgent" counseling session at 8 pm last night.  But as soon as this coffee is done, I 'll head out the door with the camera and the dog to get some more relaxin' in  ;) .

I am all through with  doing stuff. I brought home Leroy's laundry and it is done. I still have to iron two pr of pants and a shirt before I go over there on Wednesday. I have been stting here at the computer fopr a couple of hours reading  and posting on SN and my email.  I did take the babies for their walks and talked to my neighbor for awhile.

Hi Everyone!

Wow!  I've had such a busy day!  I was away most of the afternoon, stopped in after Geordie had his teeth cleaned to see Terena and then after a coffee, headed home.  No sooner was I home and the phone rang and it was Rebecca asking if I'd come over for supper.  So Off I went again back to Rockwood where I found Rebecca's other grandparents there too so we had a lovely meal and I'm just in now and it's almost 11 pm!
