Let's remember to thank our veterans
in all of our countries for the job they've done in the past
and for what they are doing at the present time

How To Know You Are Born-Again

Romans 10:9-11 says...
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.

Morning Devotional...

Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
Jude 1:13

One night during World War II, I had reason to walk along a coastal road with a strong wind blowing and boisterous waves breaking in foam against the rocks below.

At the same time nature put on a spectacular display with a shower of meteorites which filled the heavens above and sent shooting stars streaking through the sky, only to disappear forever in a bank of dense clouds.

With great awe I recalled the arrogant apostates of Jude's day and thought of their inclement counterparts in our present world.
--W. P. W. McVey

Eternity's ages thy soul has to face,
In blackness of darkness or riches of grace.

Musician:  Ascribed to William Croft, 1678-1727
Supplement to the New Version, 1708

O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home!

Under the shadow of Thy throne
Still may we dwell secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

A thousand ages in Thy sight,
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night,
Before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the op'ning day.

O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guide while life shall last,
And our eternal home.

Wake up everyone!!!!!  We were going to the zoo today, but thunderstorms have changed our mind.  We had some rough ones early this morning, but nothing major seems to have happened.  Heard it was pretty rough in the midwest.  Hope all you there are okay.

Well, TAS has gotten quiet.  I'd better go check.  laters!

I AM BORN AGAIN!

Pat ~ Charlene had 10 stitches in her index finger on her left hand.  But that didn't stop her from planting some bushes and some daylilies yesterday afternoon when Jerry and I stopped by.

Marilyn ~ Yes, that cross is tremendous.  To think that 50,000 people view that cross daily.  There is another cross on I-40 at Groom, Texas.  That one has the Stations of the Cross at the base of the cross.  The one at Effingham has the 10 Commandments.

Larry ~ The race didn't start until 1 p.m. We had some rain in the morning and the track had to be dried off.  I didn't even know who won until just now...Buddy Rice.  I didn't even know David Letterman...home town is Indy...owned an Indy car.  You can read about it here (http://sports.excite.com/news/05312004/v8973.html).  I wanted to watch the race last evening but it was pre-empted by the weather....lots of damage and tornadoes in Central Indiana.  No damage right here...just rain and winds...thank you God.

YES, JERRY IS A VETERAN!!!  All the veterans, military and family members of those serving our country now were recognized at church yesterday.

Sonja ~ When I had a yard sale years back, I wanted to sell some authentic Navajo Indian rugs.  I took them for appraisal and I put that price on the rugs, two of them.  They sold first!!!!!

Ivalou, Barb and I are going out for Kaye Don's birthday for breakfast.  I have to leave soon.  I am hoping to mow but with all the rain, I may have to wait until tomorrow.  Other than that, I hope it is a leisure day.

Hi everyone.  We have finally had a nice shower this morning and I think more may be on its way.  Know the campers are not too happy as they enjoy the last minutes of their holiday weekend.

That weather in the midwest does sound terrible.  We are under a tornado alert this morning until 10 pm.  I just got back from coffee.  We had to go to McDonald's this morning as the cafe was closed today.  Will be glad to get back to the cafe.

We don't have anything special planned for today.  The cleaning lady had planned to come but called last evening saying she was moving and needed to work on that today as the movers will be coming tomorrow.  That works out well as we are still having some construction dust.

Hapy Birthday, Zoomdak.

Karmat, sorry that you won't be able to go to the zoo today but wouldn't be pleasant if the weather is bad there.  Sure there will be other days for zoo visiting.

Etta Sue, thanks for the info on the Indy race.  I had heard this morning that they had finally gotten it finished.

Good morning Sonja and Pat and all who visit later today.

Al, I am not sure about our schools still saying the Pledge but think that they likely do as the South tends to be a bit more conservative.  I know that we do at our senior center lunchoens.

I hope that everyone will have a find day today.

Good Morning: Pat thank you for the salvation message this morning.

I am saved by the blood of the Lamb and the words of my testimony.

Etta Sue Have you ever seen the cross at Baker, California in all your travels? I have not seen it. There was some controvery before I left the desert about some people who were going to file a lawsuit to have it removed. I haven't heard anymore about it since I  moved.

HEY JERRY THANK YOU FOR SERVING IN THE MILITARY.

I am working today at Fay's. We are also having WM's this morning by unaimous vote of all 5 of us.

Going to read the other folders here and get off the computer.

Have a God blessed day y-all.

I will have to check on things like that.  We won't be selling to much of our antiques and stuff.  Actually we won't be selling any at all.

Have fun at Kaye Don's Birthday.  Save me a piece of cake.  ;D

It is supposed to be warm here.  Yeehaaa!  I think we will do some more cleaning.  :-\

Hello, everyone!  We're still at a loss as to what we are going to do today.  We're currently at my Mom and Dad's letting Travis play with his grandparents.

My heartfelt appreciation for all the men who gave their lives for my freedom.

Have a great day!

Ruth Ann checking in. I'm not certain what has brought about the declarations of being born again, but I was at age 5 and have thankfully served our Lord and Master for 54 years.

As a military mom, I can tell you that I most certainly appreciate those who serve their countries in the military, those who train and are ready in the various guard units, and those who love and support their military personnel.

Y'all have a good day.

I recognized the photo, Pat!  Took some more very similar this morning, while Abby and I were at the cemetery for the ceremonies.  Our county has lost 14 veterans during the past year.  Each Memorial Day, they read the names of those who served our country who have passed away since the previous Memorial Day.

Darrel has been watching war movies almost non-stop for the past several days.  I watched a little of one while eating my lunch, and the men were praying, quoting Scripture and encouraging each other in the Lord.  I wonder if they would even allow that in movies now, even though we know soldiers are still doing all those things.

Beth has taken Abby to the pool.  The outdoor pools were to open today, but it is cool, so they will probably think they are freezing!  ;D  The indoor pool was closed this morning.

Jerry, thank you for your service in the military!  (((hugs)))  I have the utmost respect for our military people, who serve under such difficult conditions and sometimes such cock-eyed rules.

This is an absolutely glorious day here, weather-wise.  God is so good!

Marilyn ~ No, I haven't seen the Cross at Bakersfield.  Maybe there is some info about it on the net.

Sonja ~ We went for a birthday breakfast.  The closest thing to a cake was the biscuits!  I guess I could walk over there this evening when the family is having a cookout.  Barb bought a birthday cake and ice cream at the store while we were gone.  About the Navajo rugs...I meant, that you can have higher priced items as well as lower priced items.  Bet your prints would sell at the yard sale.

Pat ~ No, the tornadoes weren't near me.  The closest to me was the one on the south side of Indy....about 35 miles away.  There were some big limbs down in the town where Jerry lives but that is all we saw while finding a place for breakfast this morning.

Breakfast was fun...it is always fun to eat out with my family.  We ate at Cracker Barrell in Anderson.  Busy place.

When we got back we visited some with each other at Kaye Don's house.  Then I got my grungy clothes on and went out to mow.  Whew!!!!  It is really windy out there.  HOW WINDY IS IT?, you say!  So windy I cut the grass twice before it hit the ground!!!!  Truly, I think I got a wind burn!!!  I am all squeaky clean now and I am doing some laundry.  Work doesn't stop because it is a holiday!!!

Hi I am home from work now and just checking in with y-all before I go off the the kids in Blue Lake for a BBQ. Gilbert left a message on my phone, to be sure and come over today.

A woman at church gave me some clothes that I need to try on, one skirt is above the knee so I need to get some hem binding to let it down in both hem and the elastic waist. It is part of a 3 piece suit outfit with pants and jacket in Navy blue pinstripe. Very nice and tailored. I also have to let the sleeves down on the jacket.

There's been a terrible accident take place at the Lewiston Bridge over the Niagara River.  A van containing 12 people crashed into the toll booth on it's way back to New York State from Ontario.  The people inside the van were all from a Gospel Church in New York state and two people were pronounced dead at the scene and some of the others are in very serious condition in local hospitals.

Two vans were travelling together.  The first van went through the check point fine and crossed into the USA but the second van for some reason crashed into the concrete at the toll booth and flipped over.

This is so sad.

Any more information on the accident Pat?

Etta Sue put something with novacain on the windburn.  They can hurt worse than sunburn.

Marilyn it sounds like you are a seamstress.  The suit sounds beautiful.  Do you work in an office?

Blessings to all

My throat is a lot better - it still has a few problems - but am getting there.
There is a lot on TV and radio here too at the moment about the D Day landings.
We certainly do have a lot to thank our armed forces (past and present) for.
In my eyes they are all Heroes.
See you tomorrow

LADYBUG:  Welcome to C.P.  I look forward to reading more of your posts., learning about your family, and in general, just what you do to pass the time! :D

This was a usual Monday for us here at the McKenna home.....laundry, general tidy-up, and meal prep.

Tonight we had barbequed ribs.  I "concocted" the sauce myself....just throwing in whatever I could find.  It was probably the tastiest batch of ribs I have ever made (if I do say so myself.... :D )...LOL

Well, three times I have left the desk here, while typing, just to answer the door....people selling stuff., everything from chocolate bars to newspaper and magazine subscriptions!  Now that it is after 7:o'clock, I hope thats the end of it!

Marilyn:  The suit sounds nice.  When you finish tailoring it, have someone take a photo of you wearing it.  I'd love to see it.  That was nice of that person to think of you!

Etta Sue:  Give Jerry a hug from me too.... I have the utmost respect for the men and women who have served their country for our protection.  Did anyone watch the Memorial Day program on CNN or the PBS station last night?  I get "all goose-pimplied" when I hear the American National anthem, and America the Beautiful! :'( :'(...yes, this is what those pieces make me do!....they really do!

Love to all.... Judy M.

Pat - I mean't to comment on the accident you were referring to as well.

Last I heard on tonight's news,...three people have died.  The police were saying it is possible that a coffee cup got wedged under the brake.

Yes., this is so sad!

LadyBug. I guess you could call me a seamstress of sorts. I love to sew and when I was employed by Mervyn's besides working on the floor in just about every department I also worked in alterations. I don't work in an office either. I am semi retired, drawing my Social Security but still working, as a caregiver.

I just got home from the kids house, they had a BBQ and wow everything was so good. The driveway at the new place is scary though. it goes up about a 90*angle and makes a left turn.

What a tragic accident, Pat.  Thanks for the link.

We've had a very busy weekend.  Saturday was the official raising of the flags at the Veterans Memorial Park.  Sunday started with church, reading Acts 2:1-13 in five different languages at once, and then Gene emceed and I was one of three judges of color guards in our local parade.

Lots of pictures and I've been working on getting them ready for the town's website.  Once I get that all taken care of I'll adjust some of them to post here.

Tomorrow is a work day and I'll have to start even earlier than usual.   Payday for hourly employees is Wednesday and having a holiday today it leaves only Tuesday to get everything entered and  the direct deposit ones taken care of.  Usually that needs two full days so we'll be really pressed tomorrow.

We watched the movie about Eisenhower and all involved with D-Day decision.  What a load to carry for everyone involved and he had to make the final decision of when to go.

Jane:  I understand now about your little church and so sorry for everyone.  I hope that the work you are doing there finishes soon.

Pat:  Well, congratulations to Calgary on the big hockey win!  Glad that you enjoyed the game.

Larry:  I trust that you will call your friendly doc about your dizzy spell.  Take care.

We actually went out to McDonald's to eat the Happy Meal Adult salad just for the free pedometer that came with each meal.  I made popcorn after all as it just didn't fill us and we were watching a movie.
