Morning Devotional...
The Lamb of God

Spring is not far away in this part of the globe. In a few weeks, buds will be bursting into beautiful cascades of colour. Brown fields will give way to tender, luscious shoots of green grass. The mornings will resound again with the melody of song birds, as they flit around in their new bright spring feathers, doing the things birds do while building their nests and raising their little ones. Soon, too, the little lambs will be seen sporting on the hills and in the valleys of Ontario, and Scotland and Ireland and many other places throughout the world.
Perhaps it was in spring that John the Baptist, on seeing Jesus coming to him said:
"Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." John 1:29 (NKJV) What an unusual thing to call an adult male. What a peculiar statement to make. Think of it again.
"Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." Lambs were familiar to the Jewish people of John's day. Lambs were a reminder to them of their history, when as slaves in Egypt, God had commanded them to kill a lamb, a spotless lamb, for each household and apply its blood to the lintel and door posts of their houses so that God's judgment would not fall on them. This exciting story can be read in detail in Exodus 12.
When I was a boy (many years ago), my father used to tell me stories to illustrate the Bible way of salvation. He seemed to have an endless store of them. Some of these stories I have remembered fondly over the years. One was about a man in Switzerland who was employed to repair the steeple on a local village church. So used, was he to working at heights that he did not bother to attach himself with a safety rope. He wanted freedom to move around, but alas his desire for freedom almost cost him his life. To their horror, some of the villagers saw him slip and grasp wildly to break his fall. To no avail, downward he hurtled. The villagers ran frantically to where the worker lay. He must be dead! But wonder of wonders he was alive. Instead, a lamb lay beneath him bearing his weight. The lamb was dead, crushed beneath the human load which had fallen on it.
When John the Baptist called the Lord Jesus Christ,
"The lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world", he was telling his hearers that Jesus would die on the cross to take the weight of sin of the nations so that judgment need not fall on those who like the Israelites in Egypt were protected, by the blood of the lamb.
In the book of Revelation 7:9-10 (NKJV), we see, "
a great multitude from all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues standing before the throne of the Lamb clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands and crying with a loud voice saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb".
There is a lovely hymn we sometimes sing in the church where we fellowship that speaks of Christ's sacrificial work as the Lamb of God and the blessings brought to all those who are His by personal faith in Him.
The Lamb of God to slaughter led,
The King of glory see!
The crown of thorns upon His head,
They nail Him to the tree!
The Father gives His only Son,
The Lord of Glory dies
For us, the guilty and undone,
A spotless Sacrifice.
Enthroned with Thee now sits the Lord,
And in Thy bosom dwells;
Justice, that smote Him with the sword,
Our perfect pardon seals.
Eternal death was once our doom;
Now death has lost its sting;
We rose with Jesus from the tomb
Jehovah's love to sing.
~Robert C. Chapman~
Let me lovingly ask you a very personal question, "What is your relationship to the Lamb of God? Have you put your faith in Him to deliver you from the judgment to come?" To do this you must first agree with God that you are a helpless sinner unable to meet the demands of His law, unable to pay the price of your own sin. Then you must agree that as the Lamb of God, He has taken away your sin.
If you have trusted Him you will one day sing the song of the redeemed in heaven
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom
And strength and honour and glory and blessing"
Blessing and honour and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb for ever and ever."
Revelation 5:11,12
The alternative is frightful. Those who do not seek the Lamb as Lord and Saviour will want to flee from Him as Judge, and will
"call on the mountains and rocks to fall on them to hide them from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" (Revelation 6:15-17).
It is my prayer that none who read this will miss the day of Salvation, and the mercy of the Lamb, for who will be able to stand in the coming day of the wrath of the Lamb.
Jack Scott loved his Lord! He passed away on January 10, 2001 after a lengthy illness.
He is missed greatly by his family.
Pat you nocked my post out into cyber space.
I will not try to repost, have a good night all
God Bless, JudyB
Sorry Judy. I looked and didn't see you online when I locked the door! Sorry.
I urge everyone to get onto the Yahoo mailing email list so that you all can be notified of very important messages. We used that list to notify the members quickly when we heard of Papa John's serious illness and today we used it to notify people that CP was "down".
I got knocked out also, so will post tomorrow. Pleasant dreams all.
Hehehe, I just got my email message. Hmmm.
Sorry i didn't post more, my "free" time was while the site was down.
I got some cute pictures today, I'll try to post them tomorrow night, or something!
Goodnight Everyone

Pat - Dear sis, a wonderful post this morning. I do hope that you are feeling stronger today. I also pray that what I have written does not detract from Jack's devotional.
I pray that you all enjoy a fruitful and refreshing
weekend.
LOL
'O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.'
Exodus Chapter 4 Verse 10
For many years the only true and real 'calling' that I could imagine in this life was to be a preacher of the gospel. It is without doubt the highest calling available or should I say honoured to any man.
It is over twenty years now since I approached a minister in my church for guidance on this matter. I was aware of a compelling urge to preach. I did not feel 'gifted' or qualified enough to preach, but I could not get rid of the nagging within. His advice to me was, 'if there was any way that I could stay out of the ministry, then I was to do that!'
'Phew!!' Relief! I do not have to go back to school, sit exams, go to College for three or four years and I did not have to stand up in front of people each week and preach a sermon. Yes there was relief, however the 'nagging' within did not go away. I kept returning as surely as the tide returns to the shore.
I studied hard each evening in my own home for what seemed like months on end. I read Louis Berkhof's, Systematic Theology from cover to cover then on to Hodge's three volumes.
Theology was meat and drink to my thirsty soul at that time as each day I was learning something new. I confess that my knowledge of the Scriptures was then as it is now – very poor indeed.
It was in Romania that I was given the first opportunity to preach. I did so through an interpreter and I confess that I truly enjoyed the experience.
A while after returning home I was asked if I would take the occasional Prayer Meeting in a small, yet warm village church. I do so and I returned a number of times.
I dreaded it! I enjoyed the preparation and the discipline of preparing each sermon, yet I hated the actual preaching. I was sick in my stomach days before hand, yet I managed to memorise the sermon before actually preaching it. It did not use notes, I simply stared at the back wall of the church and spoke!
I truly felt sorry for those sitting in the pews listening to me. I had absolutely no confidence in what I was doing and after a number of months I decided that it was not for me. Was this the right decision for me to take or was I simply echoing Moses' words listed above?
It is the easiest thing in the world for us to make excuses, especially when the Lord's service is concerned. How often have I been guilty of sitting back and allowing others to struggle on when I have been sitting on my backside doing nothing? How often has the fear of man prevented me from doing certain tasks in the Lord's Name?
I preached twice at 'Open Air' meetings in Stornoway, my home town. I hated it!! I could not string two sentences together and I found myself too easily distracted with all that was going on around me.
I am glad to have done it, but never again! I admire those who can preach at these meetings, they are gifted indeed. I would love to have heard George Whitefield.
I made up many excuses when I was fitter and healthier than I am now and I question these decisions now. Was I right or wrong? Have I missed my calling?
Am I being chastened through ill health as a result of my disobedience? Perhaps I should have done this, or said that, or taken this turning! Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps!!
I can make myself ill meditating on my errors but that is not productive. What has happened before is now water under the bridge. I have only today and I have the choice either to serve God where I am, as I am or not serve Him at all.
Will I ever be able to preach the glorious Gospel in public? I do not know the answer to that question and I do not worry about it. If it is to be then the Lord would have to improve my physical well being in a manner that only He could do. Is what I am doing now my training ground or is this my calling?
Today it is. Today is all I have and although I did not know what I was going to write about this morning as I got out of my bed, the desire to do so was there.
I often write and wonder if anyone reads what I am writing. I wonder if I truly do any souls any good. I dispel such thoughts by committing my efforts to the One who alone can bless and bring the increase.
I am not eloquent neither do I count myself a skilled writer. I am most thankful to Pastor Al Moak for it is he who takes the time to edit my writings and that is no easy task! God provided me with a helper as He did with Moses. Thank you Lord and thank you Pastor Moak.
We may be fearful of doing anything in His name, but my friend let me encourage you to do all that you can for Him while it is called day. If you keep putting off what the Lord wants you to do, then the day may come when you will not be able to do it!
Do not make the same mistakes that I have made. God does not want to hear excuses though we may be quite eloquent in offering them!!
I will not give you the advice that was given to me all those years ago, rather I say to you, if the Lord is calling you, then He will also equip you for the task at hand.
Remember you do not need to be a preacher of the Gospel to serve God. May you hear His words to your soul today. 'Go forward.' As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
LOL
Your brother in Christ
Iain
Niters everyone, my eyes are shot and I'm bushed. Just spent over an hour installing "Panda" Anti-virus. My Norton crashed and I didn't want to fool with them anymore.
Pat.........
Wrong place, but I always cut my roses back in November. Why do you have to do it in the Spring?? Winter doesn't require feeding, and the stubs can rest. I'm NOT an authority on this, it's just the way I did it in So. California.
I want to take time to digest your devotional so I'll study it tomorrow.
Love to all...........
8.30 a.m. England.
Pat I am so glad you seem to be better. Take care dear.
Thanks Pat and Ian...
Lovely to think of Spring Pat..."Soon everlasting Spring will come"...
Lee I use Zone Alarm. Virgin recommended the free download and it really does it's job!..Excellent. It actually told me not to open a message from a friend last week, said it wasn't just a warning .
This is All Saint's Day in the Anglican Church...Is it for you dear Ria also? It is a very special day. Until recently I always received Holy Communion on this day. Dear Jane George brought me the sacraments last Wednesday. I have some readings for the day and will use these as a quiet devotional...Thanking God for all those faithful that have gone before and have passed on the Christian Faith under tremendous pressures. I will think of Jack and of those dear ones who taught me my faith.
Prayerfully.
Jenny.
Pat thank you for the very good devotional this morning from your lovely Jack

You will keep us growing day by day
Hess
Bye for now
Love RIA
Pat, thank you for a very wonderful sermon from your beloved,he still speaks today because his daily walk was with his Saviour, Who took him, for everything was prepared for him, Jesus went to prepare a place for us all,and we shall all meet in glory,at the feet of a gracious loving God.
Be happy my sister, he was a wonderful man and meeting him again will be something glorious too.
But for now continue the great work you are doing so well, we love you so much.
And dont forget to REST!!!!!!!!!
Iain my Brother in Christ whom I love so much, you are very gifted, and your works are pleasing unto God, never doubt the inspiration you bring to all of us, for your sermonettes are from life's rich experience.
The troubles and trials you go through are forming you into a man of God, never, ever, feel that you are doing little, for you are a good and faithful servant, and one day you will enter into the joy of your Lord and hear the words "well done!".
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your heart."
Ecc ch 9 v 9-10.
And you too remember to REST !".
Another beautiful morning here in Middle Tennessee this morning. The trees are yellow, orange, red with all the little shades in-between.
Ps 1:1-6
1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
(NIV)
I often read a scripture like this and say, "What could I add to this? It is so clear that it doesn't need any explanation. Just read it and think and you will find that God is speaking to you ---- and to me.
--- Papa John ;D <:))))><<

Good day everyone.
Well God is good . . . . . . . all the time.
He is answering prayer for this family in very dramatic ways.
John is home for the weekend and will be working in the bush again.
Elijah Michael (isn't that a strong name!) is being dedicated tomorrow.
I have decided to change rooms (bedroom) around on the girls. We have one downstairs bedroom and three upstairs. The girls will be sharing again.
WE have had some really beautiful weather the last few days. There has been rain but, the temp has been quite mild. Right now it is sunny and the temp in the shade is 10*C.
Papa John That was one of my Mothers favourite passages. She had me memorize it during the time Pat spent in N.Ireland. We would repeat it together. memories.
Talk Later
JudyB
Good Morning. Pat thank you for psting another of Jack's wonderful sermons. (writings). I gives me much to think about this morning and throughout the day.
I am reading the book of John, I love the book of John. This morning I read of the Feeding of the 5,000, Chapter 6.
Iain Thank you for letting us see into your heart as you write down your thoughts on the scriptures that you read. I have learned much about you through these writings.
Papa John: It is so good to see the familiar Green print as you aslo bring us scriptures, I pray that they will be here daily soon. How are you feeling?
Pat: I didn't know that lemon juice would help dizziness. Why didn't you tell me that when I was suffering so much with those dizzy spells a year ago. My ear has finally stopped bothering me just last month, I don't know what changed it, but it stopped.
Jenny: How are you feeling? Did you get over your bout with the Flu?
Ria How is your Father?
JudyB: you have snuck in here while I am still posting. so Hi JudyB.

HHHmmmmmmmmmm.....It sounds like Lee may host a CP get-together........??? .........doesn't it? That would be AWESOME!
This was quoted in Lee's AtV thread in the photography area.
This would be great! What do you all think???
Ria I am glad the Radiation is searly dome. He will feel better soon.
Marilyn Hi. Have a good day sis. You are up early for a Saturday?
Sun is now really shining.
Bye all
I won't be back till much later.
Love Judy
Good Morning Everyone!
Yes, it's still morning! (http://christianphotographers.com/forum/graphics/frog_morning.gif)
Marilyn, I'm so happy that you are enjoying Jack's "Walking in the Old Paths". I always get a blessing from them each time I read them as well. Thanks for letting me know. Lemon juice helps dizziness if your dizziness is being caused by something you ate so I always take it in case that's the reason. If it's something to do with your inner ear, etc. lemon juice wouldn't help. But it won't hurt to try it.
Not going to write much at this time. I'm going to put a load of laundry in and then do a couple of things around the house. My dizziness is still with me so I'll be getting in touch with the doctor on Monday if it's not cleared up by then.
Loved your portion of scripture today, Papa John. Yes, as Judy has said, that was one of Mother's favourite portions.
Chris, are you still in the dog house over the photos you've been posting? Well, one anyway?
Thanks so much Iain, for allowing us the pleasure of yet another of your devotionals. I always receive a blessing when I read what you write. THANKS!
I forgot to say good morning to you, Ria. I guess it's no where near morning over there in Holland. I'm so glad that you can spend so much time with us.
By the way, who got the last piece of cheese cake? Karma, Rachelle or ?
I was asked by a friend of mine why I believe we didn't evolve from apes. And you know something. I didn't know what to say.
Would you all have some advice or verses that could help me next time?
I did ask this person if they read the bible? Said, "some" He also said he read the Darwin book. He said that the roman catholic believe we were apes once. ???
thanks I could use the help!

I did!! I did!! Muhahahahhehahhahaaa! I snuck it before they could get it.
<sonja licks her lips>
Sonja a wonderful site that will help you is www.icr.org (http://www.icr.org) that is the Institute for Creation Research. There is a lot of stuff there that you can learn before you speak to this person again scriptures etc.
JudyB Saturday is just another day for me, I go to work at 11:30 a.m. Beside the dogs get me up at the same time every day. They just doen't seem to understand that I like to sleep later on some days. LOL
The last piece of Cheesecake is in the fridge, I think since no one came by to claim it, I will eat it for breakfast.
Thanks Marilyn!
Sonja You are most welcome. Also Genesis Ask him if he believes the Bible is truth.
Hi everyone. As Pat just said it is still morning here in the Eastern part of North America. It is another glorious and beautiful day and I have felt good for the last three days. Think the increase in the heart medication is doing the job for me and not lifting anything or pushing myself too hard. God is good. Yesterday I went to do some shopping to get some printer paper from our Office Depot and then decided to stop at the Wal-Mark Super Center to check on a couple of things. That was a mistake in that when I got to the quick checkout lane and with only one couple in front of me the cash register didn't want to work right. I stood there for a good 15-20 minutes and perhaps longer thinking they would solve the problem. I finally gave up and went to a self-service line and started waiting for my turn. Finally, they got the cash register to work and the nice lady at that register motioned me back to check me out telling the people behind me that I had been waiting a very long time. I thought that was very nice. However, I am definitely going to try to avoid going back to that store for a long time. It really wore me out. Wow! Didn't I have an exciting day and as I read this it looks like I need to get a life! ;D ::)
Pat, as always I get so much from Jack's writing and his message is so clear. I am glad you share one of these gems with us occasionally. I know they are in another place on the CP site but I just don't take the time to go there to read them and when it is in the daily devotional I do and am blessed by the message contained.
Iain, in my way of thinking you are honoring God's call to preach. Your pulpit in through the world-wide web and God is using your efforts for his glory. Would you have ever done this type of ministry if God hadn't broken you via the physical ailments that plague you daily? I had not known that Pastor Al was helping you but that makes it all the better.
Welcome to Char. I look forward to your joining us here on CP.
Papa John, so good to see those green messages and scripture passages again. We surely missed you while you were so ill but certainly didn't forget you in our prayers and thoughts daily.
Hope everyone has a blessed day regardless of the weather or temperature in your area.
Thank you Marilyn. It is good be back home and feeling so well. I remember so little of the three weeks I was in the hospital. Seems strange that I have joined the group of so many cancer survivors. My doctor said I was lucky. I say the Lord was with me listening to the prayers of my many brothers and sisters who were praying for me.
I like John's prayer for Gaius:
3 Jn 1:1-3 The elder, To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth. (NIV)
John was interested in his physical well being as well as of his spiritual health and he prayed for him. He rejoiced when he received word from friends about him. This is the way we feel when we have love for one another.

Thank you Pat for that wonderful devotional from Jack..... I loved it !
It is true, there is only ONE WAY to have eternal life. Only through Jesus Christ!
I am going to look for the book "More than a Carpenter" and also Ravi's book "Jesus amongst other gods" I have to get them for the Muslim family I met last Tuesday night. This family of 5 kids and mom & dad are seeking the truth.
Will check in later.
Love Ruthie ;)
Hi all! Sonja >:( you owe me cheese cake
Thisi is short as we are getting ready to go to our church's Fall Festival. WooHool more candy for TAS ::)
Like he needs it.
Sonja, one thing I would ask your friend is if we evolved from apes, why did it stop? If evolution is true, and we are still evolving, why aren' there apes that are still turning into us?
Another thing I point out, is that when you read Darwin's book, keep in mind that England at that time felt Africa was the "dark" planet, and felt that the natives were not "developed" as the white people. In other words, his writings, as well as some of Joseph Conrad's, help to propitiate the belief that whites were superior to blacks. Darwin's writings are very white supremicist in nature, I believe, and most believers in evolution squirm when they realize this. To believe in evolution, you must believe that one race is better than another.
Another website, and it may be the same one as Marilyn pointed out is "Answers in Genesis." I don't remember the specific address, but you can do a search for it on Google, probably.
Take care all.
Another beeeeee--uuuuuuuuuu-tiful day in WNC, and we are going OUTSIDE!!!!!
Hi Sonja...... You could remind your friend that evolution is called " Darwin's theory of Evolution" This is only a THEORY of evolution. Before Darwin died, he said he was sorry for ever starting this whole thing and he wasn't sure about his theory any more.
Also, if we have evolved from apes, why are we not STILL EVOLVING? Does this person know anyone today who has evolved from the apes that are in the jungle or the zoo? No, because it is not true.
If the Bible can be proven to be true, then the Genesis account of creation is TRUE! The Bible has been proven true. There are over 300 prophecies of Jesus alone, written in the Old Testament, that have been fulfilled in the New Testament. So if the Bible is ABSOLUTE TRUTH, than how can a man's theory be true?
Sonja... there are other good books at the christian book store that you could get. There are even people (I can't remember the name now) who once believed in evolution and are Christians now and believe in the Bible's account of creation. If I can remember I will let you know.
Tell your friend to read the Bible and then you pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to his heart and show him that this is the only way.
Hope this helps.
Ruthie ;)
There is also evidence that the Earth is only about 6000 years old, as old as the Bible says it is.
It has been proved by some researchers likeDr. Kent Hovind and Dr. Carl Baugh. I p[osted their web sites in the Christian links bu here they are again.

Hi Karmat.... I read your post after I had already posted about evolution. Yours and mine are similar. Thank you for the extra info about this subject.
Today is a beautiful day in Ontario, Canada too. The temperature is about 20 C or 70 F.
Very nice for Nov. 1st.

MY RESPONSE TO JACK'S (PAT'S) DEVOTIONAL......"I HEAR, AND RECOGNIZE [HIS] VOICE"
Pat......
You really don't get the message. It isn't "If it doesn't clear-up by then", it's GO to the doctor for an evaluation. Dizziness isn't something that just happens by accident. It's CAUSED by something within. Chances are you may be anemic. Don't think it can't happen to a gal who eats regularly. I do, but last year I had to see the doctor for dizziness (And weakness) and enemia was my problem.
Sonja..........
I haven't read any of the responses since your question asking for Scripture. The best are as follows:
Genesia 1:1; Genesis 1:26-27-28.
You might also remind your friend (after you've quoted Genesis) that apes are animal, and man is human. A major difference. Also Sonja, look at man, and look at apes. If man came from apes, why do we still have apes? This question is a good one, but the BEST answer is always, what does the Bible say. God cannot lie.
More..........
Don'y just quote the bible to your friend, Read it to him. After you have read Genesis, then go to John 1:1 through 3; and John 1:14.
My My aren't we a busy bunch I see 10 of us are online right now, but no Pat I hope she is resting.
Sonja - There is good reading here for us all regarding the Lord's Creation. I have Ken Ham's video collection on Genesis and it is really thought provoking. Anyway, here is the link :-
http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/qa.asp (http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/qa.asp)
Chris/Larry - Many thanks, I'm most encouraged when I needed it.

How true this is Ruthie, and Sonja might wish to actually READ some of those prophecies and then tell her friend: May I now ask YOU a question?, then ask her friend how can all of these prophecies have come true many, many hundreds of years afterwards? God's Word will prevail. If Sonja wants any of these prphecies, many of us in this forum are willing to quote them for her.

Good afternoon, All!
Busy day! Can't seem to get here in the morning's lately!
Today is the bazaar at Ivalou's church. I got there at 8:30 a.m. Really a lot of stuff there. Garage sale stuff as well as new crafty stuff! I am praying that the Christian Womens Fellowship...CWF for
Iain...has a great day and sells all of it. It is bright and sunny.
Then I went to
Jerry's. Helped him with his bills and then to the grocery for some items for lunch today and to make snacks for the small group meeting Tuesday. We mailed his bills and then he got his flu shot at his doctor's office. We came here and put the groceries away and then to Noblesville to the Living Truth store.
Sonja, I purchased Mercy Me's CD with 'I Can Only Imagine' on it. I really like it. I can say I like that song better than any of the rest. Then we came back here and had lunch.
Jerry is napping while I am here on the pc.
Going to be a short day....
I do believe that the new member,
Char, is my daughter-in-law but I don't see where she posted. Come on,

Iain.........
From your writings, I'd say you are not called to pastor a church. When you found you were distracted and had a hard time remembering, and that you "hated" it, then no my loving friend, you are not the man for the pulpit. BUT, God has blessed you abundantly, and has given you the gift of being able to preach His Word through your writings. Even better than that, I have a suggestion for you. Ask Ruthie to send you all of the EE information she has. Read and digest it, then START your own EE program. When you do, you will find yourself spreading God's Word to the lost. Let us assume your illness prevents you from going to people's homes to give the EE presentation. No problem. The folks you train in your home will not only be God's voice, but yours as well, and your "Good works" for the Lord will spread like wildfire. Oh yes my brother, you ARE qualified.
Thanks Pat & Iain. I am also going to go back later and study what you have both posted. You write such clear thoughts Iain...surely that must be one of the areas where God wants you to serve.
About Apes & evolution. I am far from being a scientist, but find the data interesting. Read an article about a scientific study on Salamanders, that shows they are still evolving, as are other species, such as frogs, fish, etc. Because of the positive proof of repeatable evolution, it strikes a blow at CHANCE. In other words, it is not a surprise that a creator (God) would reuse the same design more than once to create organisms suited for their environment.
My limited knowledge hasn't noticed much change in Apes!! I am sure Lee can take this and do a much better work of explaining than this person....
Waiting for another Realtor and hopefully someone other than a 'looky loo'. People like my place....just not enought to commit. Makes for a nervous day....
Have always practised a light touch when dealing with sceptics....read a little quote that suits me perfectly!

RIA Same here , More rain and cold winds blowing...plus many fireworks exploding nearby....5th November is coming early again "gunpowder, treason and plot". I doubt very much whether these folks know what 5th November is all about. , To them it's just an excuse to make lots of noise and mayhem causing fear to many old folks and animals.
PAULETTE Hello again. Lovely to see you when you have a spare moment to pop in and chat to us all.

Hi there Lee, Etta Sue, Rachelle, Karmat, Chris and Margit (He let you out then?????)
Goodnight Brethren ,
Have a blessed Sabbath tomorrow.
Jenny.
Night Jenny sleep tight.
Thanks to Pat and Lee for acknowledging my post following the scripture given by Papa John. Pat I do hope you are feeling better. We all know prayer is great, but we also need Doctoring sometimes. :) :)
This is in reply to Lee's post #57 yesterday (Friday).
you need to read it i can not quote for some reason. :'( :'(
This post for the most part is intended to be humors folks, hope you can find it that way. As a true Southern Gentleman, I can say the following. ;D ;D
You All is the most mispronounced word north of the Mason-Dixon line. It is NOT "you all", it's "ya'll" pronounced YAWL .
Remember "ya'll" is singular, "All ya'll" is plural, and "All ya'll's" is plural possessive.
We have many Country Western songs that never get out of our area, so chances you have never heard of many of them. Here are a couple of examples.
"I Wouldn't Take Her To A Dog Fight, Cause I'm Afraid She'd Win."
"My Wife Ran Off With My Best Friend, And I Sure Do Miss Him."
There are many things you would NEVER hear a Southerner say. Here are a few examples.
"You can't feed that to a dog."
"Give me the small bag of pork rinds."
"Wrasslin's fake."
Even if we Southern folks talk a little funny to others, we know that God loves all His creation. We as Southerners usually try to show our love for our fellowman no matter how he speaks. :)
YAWL have a good evening, and be sure to take your Saturday bath cause you'll be wearing your clean overalls and clean white shirt to Church tomorrow. ;D ;D
Boots

Hello Everyone!
Lee, I am so glad you'ens do luv all we all. ;D ;D
Hi Pat :)
Your message was much shorter than usual. ;D
Hope your feeling better.
I certainly enjoyed a memory lane walk when I saw the message today. I never got to meet Jack in person, but I felt a kin ship to him thru his great messages.
Thanks and take care. :)
Pat, I'm scolding you! >:( Last night you said if you still had the dizziness today you'd go to the walk-in clinic. Today you said you're still dizzy and if it lasts until Monday you'll call the doctor then. Stop Procrastinating!
Lee......for sure I will post some of the prophecies of Jesus that were prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament.
We all agree about the apes and monkeys staying the way they are and eventually dying as apes and monkeys and never turning into people. Wow, who would want to believe that instead of what God said in the Bible!
I had to get a book for a family of Muslims who are seeking. I ended up getting 4 books. One was 1. "The case for Christ" by Lee Strobel,
2. "More than a Carpenter" by Josh McDowell,
3. "But don't all religions lead to God?" by Michael Green and 4. "Peace with God" by Billy Graham. Then I thought I had better get a Bible, so I bought an NIV as cheap as I could.
We have a wonderful big Christian book store called Mitchell's and every time I go I have to restrain myself to not spend too much.
After I left Mitchell's I was driving home and a young fellow was standing on the side of the road with a sign that said "NEED FOOD". I drove ahead and then turned around and stopped to give him some money. He said he was from Minnesota and was just trying to get some money for food to get back home. I told him that I go to Peoples Church and invited him to come. He said he would try and come tomorrow. I will be watching for him.
God Bless
Ruthie ;)
Ruthie........
Ye shall be known by your fruits. Oh yes dear sister, Yyou ARE known.
Jeanne Lee.........Great advice. Keep after her.
Pat.........
Hello to you too. I sent you some photos and one you might ant to name 'Twinked" ;D
Ruthie That was very kind of you. Sometimes I have even seen someone asking for dog food. When we went and bought the dog food and came back the man was gone. My granddaughter was the one who bought the food and she is 7.
Lee I have looked you up on a map, are you in Hope, or Sand Point. Your address says Hope.
Anyway I see you are not that far from Spokane.
Well Happydog is nudging my elbow again and chewing on the bottom of my chair. He cut his teeth on this old office chair 5 1/2 years ago. Don't know why he has started to chew on it again. He can't hurt it though, Heavy duty plastic coating on the bottom.
Gonna go eat now.

Hi Lee...
QuoteI sent you some photos and one you might ant to name 'Twinked"
Photos are posted. Not sure what you mean above! ;D
I'm sitting here watching my absolute favorite college football team USC vs Wash. St. Score 6 to 3 Wash. St. I'm interrupting my game to let you know what crossed my mind as I sit here watching the game.
When I was a small boy growing up in Wilmington, California we were not poor, we were dirt poor. I remember my mom (a single mother) trying to feed three children on a very few measley $5.00 dollars per week + perhaps a buck in tips working as a waitress. I remember going without dinner because she just didn't have money for food. I remember our friends who were just as poor as we were and my mom and my friend's mom would get together and we'd gleen bean fields for a meal. Among our friends was a Mexican boy named Robert Zamarippa who's mom washed clothes in a big tub over an open fire. Robert was even poorer than we were, and we kids didn't know we were poor because our friends were just as poor as we were, except Robert. I remember my mom putting cardboard in my shoes to cover the holes in the soles of my shoes. I remember the sole of my shoes coming loose and flapping as I walked. Yes, oh yes, we very were poor, and so were millions of other families in those days. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes thinking of Robert and wondering what ever happened in the life of this very poor Mexican friend of mine after our paths seperated. Oh God how I've come to understand why you sought after the poor, and the downtrodden. Here I am at this point in my life with all I would ever want and more, and Robert, who became a drunk and died, who didn't have the "beans" I had as a child, and may not have known you. This story is only one I can have in my memory bank, but it shows me that I owe so much to our Lord, and don't deserve one bit of what I have. I pray dear God I will never forget life's stories and hardships, and will always remember those who have less than I. I look to the Grace of our Lord and am in such debt to Him for His mercy on this sinner.
Ruthie......
Whether the poor buy booze or food, the giver is the one blessed. Never stop giving, I won't :-*
Pat.........
The baby goose "Squirt" and Checkers.
Good evening, everyone! I got up early this morning and drove to Hugoton for a seminar called "Doorways to Deception" with the same teacher I heard on "Powerful Secrets to Prayer" last Saturday. It was a great seminar, and a good day.
Good to read all of your posts today.
Hi everyone. I had to read yesterday and today's messages to catch up.....and now I am. :) Catched up. ;D
As always, the devotionals are wonderful. Pat, thank you for posting our Jack from time to time. It's such a blessing to read Jack's thoughts and writings. This one about the Lamb was special to me.
Iain, As I was reading your post, I couldn't help but wonder how you could be any more a preacher by standing before a congregration than you are in your writings to us here at CP. I am touched deeply by your devotionals......and it isn't because I know who you are or your situation. It is rather that you allow God to do in you what He will, and then let that flow to us. I, too, believe that you are in the center of God's will. I am so sorry that your illness keeps you confined, and yet, that which keeps you confined, also gives you more time to write. I am so sorry for your pain, my brother. But I have read many of the dear saints of the past who were "crushed" so that the Lord's fragrance could flow freely. I don't know. These are just words. But it's what I feel.
Sarah....was it you who posted the cool teen cyber language codes? I forgot to look at the name, but they were neat. It makes typing on IM lots faster, huh?
PAT, please take care of yourself. PLEASE.
Lee, I just read your post about your friend from long ago. You didn't say what made you remember him now, as you were watching your game, but I can see that if filled you with gratefulness. Your post brought tears to my eyes.
Gotta go now. love you all.....nita
Hi Janet..... I almost tripped over you. haha
America's Most Wanted
TONIGHT
will have the story of
our Little Cecilia!
It's coming on in 15 minutes
here in Guelph!
Today's news on Cecilia (http://www.canada.com/toronto/story.asp?id=0B8DD816-C979-4691-861C-E51D86FC1061)
HAHAHA! Lee, you and I are talking in riddles.
I didn't understand that first sentence at all.
Now your reply says what I posted I think on top of the photo. Hope that is what you wanted.
Lee Thank you for the story about your family and your childhood friend, the story brought tears to my eyes too.
Thank you Lee for your story about your Mexican friend. It touched my heart. You know when I saw this fellow on the side of the road with the sign, I thought, he is standing in the wrong place. He was standing right near an exit from a busy highway and the cars could not stop to talk to him. I turned around and pulled up past him. He had to run ahead to come to my car. When he finally got to me, I told him to stand in a different place, so more cars would stop and give him something.
He thanked me and I had such a good feeling in my heart when I pulled away. And then, the Lord told me that I shoud always keep cash in my wallet for situations like this. Many times I have no money on me because of interact or the debit card that can be used everywhere, but what good is a debit card if you have to help someone out.
Just yesterday, another man was standing near my work. He was clean shaven and groomed and very quietly asked for some money to "get a meal" I questioned him and found out he was from the East Coast like Newfoundland or New Brunswick. He said to me, "I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, I just want to get a slice of pizza."
I was reminded in Heb. 13:1 & 2 "let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Love Ruthie

To be technically correct, "all ya'll" specifically means there are more than 8. ;)
I, too, give money to people when I can. If possible, I try to give them food. I know some people are panhandlers, we have a "rackat" running a couple of times a year near here, but I figure if I give to a lot of them, I'm bound to hit one that needs it. :P I figure it is God's money, and we are to help those that need help, and if they abuse or squander it, they can take it up with God.
A funny story though -- A couple of years ago, my sister had to be in Asheville (about 25 miles away) for some errands, and decided to stop and get some Hot-n-Now Krispy Kreme doughnuts for her husband. Now, in order to keep them Hot and Now, she couldn't run her air conditioner (it was late June) and she didn't want roll the windows down. THEN, she got in construction and had to stop on the Interstate. She finally got to her exit, (it has now been probably close to an hour in stifling heat) and the rackat I mentioned above was working. She sees this guy up ahead with a "Hungry -- Need Food" sign, and thinks, "God, I have been praying that I would have a servant's heart. I am going to serve You by giving this man these doughnuts that I bought for my husband." She gets up to the man, hands them the box of still warm doughnuts, and watches. He opens the box, sees what is in it, and THROWS IT OVER HIS SHOULDER!!!!!!!!!!!!! She wanted to get out and let him know what she thought about that.
The best part of this story? That errand she was on was to Sam's. We were having a ball league picnic that night, and she had countless jars of peanut butter and jelly and bread and chips and cookies, etc. in the back seat.
We are still laughing at her!
Anyway. I hope all ya'll ;) have an awesome night and wonderful Sunday.
See youns!

Judy
Well! Actually, since I am an English teacher .... the use of an apostrophe is to indicate the omission of a letter or letters. Therefore....TA DAAA when you think of "you all" and leave out the vowels ... it becomes y'all! ;) :P Sooo it's y'all and all y'all or all y'alls... gottit? That's good. :D End of the English lesson for today.
Marilyn..........
Look up Bottle Brand Rd in Hope, and you've got it.
Well, I've been sitting here for over 40 minutes wondering if I was going to cause someone to lose a post if I locked this topic.
I'm so sorry when I read that someone lost their post because I did that.
But I must get to bed now.
So, here goes!
